Hello #PDArmy! Which one of these two sedans do you like more - the City eHEV or the Virtus GT? Comment below!
*People buy car for daily running
Not for driving occasionally* ....
gt. period.
Virtus gt
@@kushyadav8269 how I see it, lots of cars can keep up the daily grind. Won't it be nice if they felt special on the weekend too? That duality is desirable
Honda because it's Honda .
Heart says GT, Mind says City. With increasing fuel costs, how often can we push the GT for fun.
You think the 1.0 litre strikes the perfect balance?
@@overpowered6620 that's more than ARAI figures. Say what?
I could be wrong but that 179mm ground clearance is one of the biggest advantage that we didn't even talk about in this video. Also, while the fuel economy numbers do add up for City, it will take a lot of miles before the price difference could be justified.
but you get the instant torque and ADAS. Plus, if you don't have to care too much about mileage, you'll hit the road much more frequently than you expect.
Bro Honda is for people who want long time investment... Maintenance is really cheap when compared to Virtus... I myself own a City 4th gen... After sales and resale value is also acceptable...
Well big advantage of the Honda is reliability; you won't see diwali lights on your dashboard often at all unlike the VW
I did 10k in 2 months and there's absolutely no problem. Mileage is north of 15kmpl. So..... Idk why all of you guys want a grandpa car. Maybe try the new Verna, I heard it's gonna be the best in segment in terms of power, comfort and design. Feels nice to feel a little young sometimes, just saying.
And please don't get me started on ADAS on Indian roads.

I own a city i-VTEC and boy do i envy the Virtus GT (looks + 1.5 turbo 💥), both cars are phenomenal in their own regards. Great comparison PD. 👍🏻
Aye, thanks a ton, Harsh!
Did you see the race-spec Virtus GT? Damn that thing is hot
Manual or Automatic?? I own a manual... And bhai, the red line sound is 😍😍😍
VW 1 liter engine itself is so much fun to drive and sufficient for normal usage. And 1.5 is next level.
Truly an international engine. Punchy AF
I ride an e:hev and it's phenomenal on busy roads and also on highways. Honda just got things right with this hybrid one.
It's been 5 months since your comment.
How's your car running?
Any positives/negatives you'd like to tell?
It's 1 year now how is it running
This comparison is just what I wanted❤️ 🔥🔥🔥 Thanks PD
Braking ,safety, comfort, suspension,ac ,engine sound ,engine smooth ,JDM reliability engine - honda
Power ,pickup ,performance - vw
Just lower the ground clearance of Virtus... Imagine how hot it would look 😍😍😍 That ground clearance kills the beauty, making it look like a coupe which is on a diet 😑😑😑
I own one and while i do agree with you on the looks front .. practicality that extra ground clearance offers really helps me personally on the day to day especially on the kind of roads i think we generally have in india
How's your experience with virtus @gokulas6866
@@gokulas6866hi how has been your experience so far
Vipul! This was really good! Really really good comparo!
A suggestion if I may, please film the interior bits let's say when you talk about the back seat pockets when you took out your laptop. I know I know the review is already out. We'd have already watched it in a previous video. Yada yada yada.
But it really helps to visualise what the presenter is actually taking about. And it's happened many times before. Often we don't get to see the interior properly in powerdrift reviews when presenters are talking about features or some bits of interior trims.
Other than that, no complains.
Finally a vintage PD comparison
Vipul is doing a good job
🤟
Wonderful comparison. In fact this was the most wanted in finalizing our purchase!!
Honda eHV is a Testimony to the new Hybrid Technology !!
If you really need to enjoy your driving and wants to have fun while driving then go with Virtus GT but when you compare for money and daily use then you can go for city ehv
*People buy car for daily running
Not for driving occasionally*
@@kushyadav8269 not all people run their cars daily.some uses it occasionally and have passion towards driving and for those People I suggest VW Virtus GT. I own a 2022 city but diesel. Even I drive it daily so I chose diesel for my convenience.
More like if you have a driver, then the City. If self drive, the Virtus anyway
@@kushyadav8269 Not everyone needs a car just for mileage. Your case might not be everyone's.
People buying budget cars will have concerns for fuel economy, most people buying a 20 lakhs car will think about drivability and performance , untill they are buying to be driven by a chauffeur.
Virtus does give you a mileage of 16-17 in mixed driving, city will give you 20. Difference of 3 lakhs per lakh kms....and city is anyways 1 lakh costlier.
The confident 531 litres while its 521 liters boot space on display !! Something else !! 😂. Good show and help viewers to make decision. Hope honda brings suv with better boot space and ground clearance along with ehev or VW adds ADAS to virtus very soon.
Best comparison I have ever come across 🎉
Both of them are superb cars, in my opinion city is a bit ahead due to all the tech it offers, comfort, after sales service and lets not forget the efficiency figures it churn's out with a commendable power output which is more than sufficient
A person while driving in hilly area, the average speed he achieves with normal driving works out as 40 km/h and while driving in planes, the average speed he achieves with normal driving is about 60km/h. Higher speeds are just for fun but less practical. Thus honda city ehev performance just matches above avg speeds with peak efficiency. Vw performance for higher speeds is for occasional fun only and lacks at practical normal avg speeds which our roads allow for safe and efficient driving. Thus honda city ehev is far more practical car with added safety of adas at approx. same cost. Even in Haryana it is cheaper by almost Rs. 300000 lakhs and states might modify there ev policies accordingly. Even boot design is more practical shaped as compared to other cars with some higher ltrs. of capacity. Had Honda reduced the petrol tank by 15 ltrs boot space wood have sufficiently increased and having same range as that of non hybrid city.
In 15 lkhs I will choose city petrol manual but in 21 lkhs, obviously its virtus gt
I remember the gt tsi vs gt tdi comparison. How brilliant it was what happened power drift these days
so true... specially with these two cars they could've made a mega review
Full marks to this mann, vipul💯💯💯💯
Woot woot!
🤟
If you prefer pure driving pleasure and don't bother about Fuel Efficiency then go for Virtus GT. If Fuel Efficiency is your primary concern and requirements like ADAS features, interior space comfort and if you can live with 300 litres boot space....then blind folded go with Honda City Hybrid.
You summed it pretty well
Perfect
City is a much better all rounder. Virtus us just a fun factor.
Honda city any time for reliability fact 👍🏻
Virtus for me
I am all for the Honda City Hybrid but that measly boot space is holding me back!
Virtus because of looks and modern interior cabin feel
What happens to the batteries after 7 yrs
It cost 4-6lakh for new one
What is the hybrid battery cost of hev honda after it expired the warranty......
6 lakh ₹
It's really interesting to see how 2 cars which belong to the same segment are miles apart from each other in terms of the stuff they offer!
That said, I think you guys should have conducted this test on highways or plains, the Virtus would've easily extracted 17-18 kmpl easily, not everyone takes their cars to hills everyday!😅
Anyways, hope you guys bring a sedan comparison too!🙂
That's a more realistic usage scenario. We wanted to contrast their traits in search of duality.
@@carcrazyguy. I agree, but a comparo on plains would have been more sensible. Anyawys, I agree with your point
yeah similarly the city ehev can easily extract 26-28 kmpl
*hybrid army* 💜
Everything is fun until the service bill come😂
*People buy car for daily running
Not for driving occasionally* so hybrid
Ofcourse, but there are both sets of people. And voila, two different cars.
@@powerdriftofficial true
@@powerdriftofficial is this comment by cyrus....hahaha
If you want an effecient car, and especially want to be chauffeur driven, no doubt, get the City Hybrid.
If you want a fun to drive, performance oriented, spacious, decently effecient car, get the Virtus GT, it will always bring a smile to your face!
Well said!
What happened to the good old PD team
When the host used the word flipside , I was thinking they would talk about the 1 yr waiting period on the honda , the icredible maintenance costs of the volkswagen etc , but this was only a mileage test uphill , it didnt even have many scenarios to give a decent clarity on the mileage .Volkswagen and skoda give really bad mileage for city runs. This video felt like a click bait. Maybe zigwheels or someone else should have done this topic.
You should have turned off unnecessary fog lamps and headlamps during milage test
3:52 , bro i taught y'all met with an accident the way the video transition was put
Virtus is probably the last fun ICE car by Volkswagen for us let's enjoy it till it lasts rather than making it do millage test.
miss the old Hondas
Video….. which i want this comparison 😊
Hope you gave it a Like, Shubham!
@@powerdriftofficial in first 10 likes my like are there gurantee👍🏻😊
What about ground clearance?
Vipul does talk about it! Did you miss that bit?
Wanted to miss the entire video but couldn't, expected better comparison from PD
@@traveljunkie1 it would make sense, generally speaking, for someone to gather information only if they watch the entire video. Still, you can always come back for more
Love the hybrid for sheer technological advances
City with more boot space
If possible plz bring in a Creta rival with hybrid
Vw ❤️🔥
The moment you showed the accord I got excited and heartbroken at the same time.
The ACT technology of Virtus GT does wonders on highways and city drives. Set the cruise control on 80 or 90 kmph and it can extract mileage above 20kmpl easily!
Man oh man, the Virtus looks beautiful!🤩
Please do the same test on flat highways instead of hill sections and valleys, the 2 cylinder mode does wonders on the highway, on hills it has the disadvantage.
Fuel economy of 20-22 is achievable in the 1.5 tsi on the highway cruising at 80.
The difference will remain the same as city will return close to 27-28 at 80kmhr
Well said. But their idea is not to find the truth but to spread their propaganda.
If only they did the test on a highway at 100kmph, we will know how the hybrid suffers
@@SuyashKaul what about at 100-110kmph? Virtus will still engage the ACT and deliver close to ❤18-19kmpl. Will the Honda city hybrid return the same 27-28kmpl?
@@easternprestige you can sustain 110kmhr on negligible number of highways in India. A gentle tap on accelerator and turbo petrol efficiency drops quite a bit. Talking with experience as I have one. The act is helpful in 1% situations. They haven't included traffic conditions where the difference will expand to almost twice of what Virtus will manage.
@@SuyashKaul 1%? Nice way to defend Honda. ACT is helpful in more than 40% situations!
Great way to compare a hybrid with a conventional ICE car. Kudos PD.
I own skoda slavia 1.5 DSG almost 4000 kms now, it's very fun to drive. amazing gearbox and powerful engine which can take you to 200kmph without any effort. If you are a driving enthusiast you must go for virtus/slavia 1.5 if you want a family car with fuel efficiency, Honda city is the best option.
Testing fuel efficiency on ghat roads - strange.😂
I own a virtus gt and it’s very nice when u want to really drive it and and I get a mileage of 13-15 in city if driven peacefully and on highway cruise I got 21.6. Soo ye. Mileage and performance are offered in gt.
21.6 kmpl over how many kilometres? I'm curious ..
always city eHEV awesome car
VW Virtus GT in Curcuma Yellow.....
Virtus gt any day❤
VW virtues
Still that powerdirft touch is missing
Two nice cars there should either be rohan who should do this video or cyrus
He is just sounding serious
Need tge powerdirft touch back please
GREAT CARS..
E hev offer 27 in city while 17 in virtus
Hybrid 18-20km city (calm & butter smooth)
Virtus gt - 8-11 city (too much heat )
Of course the Virtus, the CVT is a non starter. Funny that wasn’t even mentioned once.
It's not a CVT. eCVT is just a term they used to explain how the electric motor puts down power in Honda eHEV. ICE is just a generator for the batteries in the Honda.
Ofcourse they wont😂. Its not a genuine comparo
Do a read up on the “e cvt” before you comment. There is no relation to a conventional cvt at all!
The Virtus is all good till the dsg conks off, they don’t tell you about that too.
eCVT just means variable torque through elevctric motor, its actually just a single gear ratio that does not change when driving, only the motor output is changed, there is no cvt here
@@sasmit82 i would rather than a gearbox that conks off than a scooter gearbox for 23L
AnyDay Virtus
1st comment PD army❤
Aye, welcome squad!
Seems like a branding content for Honda City.
Thank god. I thought I was the only one to feel that way😂
How will u compare a hybrid to conventional Car, features we all know, City hybrid is for efficiency and comfort, vitus is for fun and excitement, so 80% of buyer in the country will go city, only enthusiast and some youths will go for virtus
Could it be because some of us fail to realise just how effective hybrid systems are?
Bro can't handle the truth on what's better option
Hybrid Technology - VW : It's out of my syllabus . We know emissions scandle :)
i was all for the previous gen city and loved the way city had looks. But honestly, build quality is not at all great. VW any day. Fun to drive and feels safe
City is legendary ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Fine editing.
Vitrus or Virtus 🤔
😂
Virtus is soooo much better than the city in almost every way possible. No wonder why the City is here for about 25 years, while others kept coming and going😉.
Till these get girly automatics,no enthusiast's gonna take 'em seriously..slavia 1.5 manual is IT
DSG is no girly automatic.
Honda city rear space is cramped than virtus?!!! Really???
What happened to powerdrift? CarWale comparison is much much better in all aspects
No car under 50L budget can beat the VW virtus when it comes to engine performance and driving dynamics.
This was the review i was looking for .. superbly done. Thank you. Im planning to sell my Polo GT and go for Virtus GT or Honda City eHEV.
Have driven both many time. This review is more on city side. But believe me. If you plan to buy go for virtua gt. Now it have a gt and gt plus version costs way lower than city hybrid. Go for that. Nothing compares with that. Driving dynamics is excellent. Cant compare with city. And also that ground clearance. 😘
Honda ❤️❤️
City city city
O
Honda on any given day 👌😎
Boot space is an important factor when you are buying a sedan. City ehev loses in this area and could face a deal breaking situation. Fuel efficiency figures of 1.0 turbo Virtus/Slavia may even be closer to ehev and even that is not bad performer at all. Add the wide price difference of 1.0 vs ehev. Ehev will be exclusive in city travelling situation where its fuel efficiency and low end torque shall have no competition at all.
I8 in íió
Honda city
The virtus and slavia are nothing compared to rapid and vento respectively.
Well those aren't the cars they are competing against, are they? Compare it to the current rivals, the Germans are still better in a lot of aspects
Rapid and vento were 1 liter engines, this is 1.5 liter turbo engine.
@@sarangsp1591 nope, the city is much better than the twins in my opinion.
@@traveljunkie1 no, the early ones were 1.5.
Only time will tell
I got 24kmpl on virtus gt😅
Fake 😅
Bring back Rohan Albal ...PD is boring widout him 😭
Please change the host... the cyrus was best for any car review ..this new guy doesnt have that kind of voice
Virtus GT is TSI? 🫤 i thought it was TGDI because of the performance it gives
