Honda should change their marketing form selling torque to selling a fuel efficient car. then people would understand why the price is above 100k. people would not buy a torque car for 106k.
Actually marketing fuel efficient for this car also wouldn't work in Malaysia. In country with expensive fuel like in thailand or indonesia yes, but not in Malaysia. Plus if that people can afford 106k car, I don't think they care much about fuel efficiency (as long as this 1.5 hybrid doesn't drink fuel like a 2.5, supercharged V6, etc). If Malaysian really care about fuel efficiency we would've seen a lot more hybrid car in this country.
What i see is, humans that seem to like this car but cannot afford to buy it and hence make a lot of hatred towards it, making it looks less desirable and a cheering car to buy. What a pity. And, also, people who can afford to purchase those high end car and somehow willing to still review this car that worth only for mid range buyer as such, bring this car at the end to receive a bunch of derogatory comments, your effort in this case, isn't helpful, because you are not commenting it from wide angle.
Rm20,000 is extra for the technology of hybrid and honda sensing... I think it's justify the price, but a car without spare tyres are deal breaker for me.... 😅😅😅
I hope there will be a review or comparison with Honda City V-Sensing. It got all the bells and whistles such as digital instrument cluster and Honda sensing but still significantly cheaper than the RS.
Don't buy Honda City v seng sensor dia banyak prb . Tinted kat cermin depan tak boleh .nanti kereta boleh rosak. Klu tak nak sakit kepala jgn beli senseng punya kerate. I dah jadi mangsa . salesman tak explain anything abt this car. 😭😭😭😭😭 Beli baru seminggu dah masuk workshop honda 😭i kena bayar instalment kat bank lagi .
I don't understand why some carmakers bother to bring in hybrid to Malaysia while Malaysia fuel price is relatively cheap among the world. Thailand is 1 time and Indonesia is 70% higher price than Malaysia. Those who complain fuel price expensive should take Axia or maybe kapcai. Hybrid itself is combination of traditional internal combustion engine + EV motor and battery. It has more components, more complexity and higher cost to maintain in long run. Save some pennies from fuel but taking the risk of having problem as combustion engine car and worry about battery replacement cost. Pure combustion engine no worry about battery cost and switching system problem. Pure EV has no worry of maintenance as engine lube, engine mounting, spark plug etc. Hybrid is bravo having worry of the duo. EV is future, not hybrid.
1) Fuel subsidy makes it appear cheap. 2) Lack of charging infrastructure. 3) Range anxiety of EV cars. 4) Less CO2 emissions compared to ICE. Hence hybrid is an acceptable middle ground.
Hybrid / PHEV is for entry level/beginner to EV cars la. Pure EV is for advanced already, already understood the pros & cons & the calculated risks having a full EV car.
using axia also will charge u RM 2.05/L no difference. axia full tank can go around 400km for 33L while honda city can go aroung 550km for 40L. city much better in fuel efficiency.
I am very interested in cutting down my carbon footprint but at this point I cannot afford any of the EVs. So hybrid vehicle sounds like a good transition for me.
this one month ago comment , cannot predict the war happen today , next month Malaysia will minimize the fuel subsidies, because the umno need to make supporter happy to withdraw KWSP RM10k, they prepared the talk point for next GE ceramah
Such a shame that a hybrid powertrain option didn’t join our line-up here in the Philippines. They just released the facelifted ones here for 2024 and still no PHEV in the line-up. I’m jealous of our neighboring nations lol.
great video! I like how you explained thoroughly the system this car possesses, and how it compares to other brands. Although I'm to dumb to understand all
It's worth 107k or perhaps a bit more for those who can afford it. It is not just technology. The price of cars will likely go up! I am still on the waiting list for the RS City Hatch.
I just stumbled upon Matt's video while researching Hybrid engine. I am very impressed how Matt just launched into immd subject so competently yet nonchalantly while driving (in a single take?). Great work!
Dude, you dont even manage to have the info of combined horsepower/ps when the car is in hybrid mode. If you dont like any features this car is giving, why are you even bother to review this car. Is it in your eye, only those so call "good hybrid car" in your perspective do worth call as hybrid car? and where this car you have yet explored enough and already concluded base on your opinion as if it is the true. Also, you keep criticizing this car to the extend of almost this car shall not be launched in Malaysia. Again, then, why are you even bother to review this car?

Exactly
And... you only get the torque after a full second of depressing the pedal. Much worse than turbo lag.

Facts
I’ll buy it.
So the marketing ads showing the City RS overtaking a bunch of rivals with bigger engines is completely misleading then lol
It is worth to purchase the RS hybrid for those who can afford. With the electric parking brake, all rounded disc brake and gadgets.
very clear and precise presentation. and learnt a lot about the differences between hybrid systems on the market.

Good review, bro. Absolutely agree at RM106k, many will give it a miss!

The price is a deal breaker. No B segment sedan worth more than RM 100k.
Except the x50 Flagship

This is coming to India. So wanted to hop in and listen. What a presentation! 🇮🇳
Right, he explained the entire technology behind it while our reviewers are harping about unnecessary details like IRVMS and sunroofs.
Same here.

So i get misperception by the honda ads. They should marketed it as a semi ev car
Its literally hybrid car not EV

Hi, may I ask what color is this?
RS means Tree Hugger? Ok noted Honda
Sir your explanation is too good
10:02 oh no... deal breaker. The fun thing in the last gen honda city hybrid were the sport mode & paddle shifters.
folding rear seat is SUPER IMPORTANT

What is the voltage, no. Of cells and kWh capacity of the honda city immd honda city bssyery?
There's a plus/minus round control on the left side of the instrument dash, is that for the cruise control or something else?
That’s to adjust the illumination level of the gauge cluster
Nice review and crisp explanations. Well done.
Why do I feel the extra 20k is just fancy but not so fancy and not justified
Nice review as usual.. I’m curious what’s the difference between i-mmd vs Toyota corolla cross Hybrid?
if not mistaken, toyota corolla cross engine only turns on to charge the hybrid battery
Will this be available in other countries? Like Philippines?
this is what colour? anyone know?
How is the cabin fit (sitting on the driver's seat) for someone who is 6'2"?
It will be fine. No Issues I’m 5’10 I have lots of head room and leg room . 6’2 will also be comfortable.
You’ll fit in pretty comfortably
