at my work, we have these beautiful old-fashioned marble staircase, which have their own thick marble handrail but then suddenly one Monday, a second set of hideous metal handrails appeared next to them, because apparently the original ones were too hard to grip! I laugh but also had to spend new year's in bed because I I fell down them stairs and twisted my ankle, so I guess the rails are there for a reason

"Oh man that was weird wasn't it eh? Those snakes all just came over to me all of a sudden. Also that antoehr thing, you should make sure your snakes don't all congregate or they could unintentionally create a tripping hazard. Matter ah fact, I should write that down"
(Mason looks back down at his clipboard and continues writing stuff down.)
Lucius: "Bah! Enough of your mudblood vocal trickery! Time to end this! (Lucius launches a deadly spell at Mason!)
(Mason unintentionally blcoks and repels the attack spell with his magical spell resistant clip board)
Mason: (Looks up) "Oops you accidentally almost hit me there!" (Chuckles for a minute) "Also another thing, everyone here need tah store all their wands inside of a wands locker or wands storage room when they're not in use. Safety regulations."

@@pozatat Oh sorry! I always attributed “the second jet of light” to mean the second red jet of light, since that was the aforementioned spell, but I guess it’s open to interpretation. As for there being spells other than Stupefy, I always assumed it was Stupefy because of the way the book describes Sirius’ expression freezing, then him falling backwards through the Veil… It seemed like the effects of Stupefy. As for Crucio, that would cause much different effects

With several keys and coded locks and repulsion magic, all behind a giant bank vault that can only be opened through the express permission of the door supervisor. What if some kid just wandered in and got lost in an infinite corridor? Did they enact any reasonable safeguards to protect accidental injury?
I'm sure the ministry needs to put all their weird magic somewhere, but they can't just hide it behind a door and expect everyone to be smart enough not to go inside.

The safety standards of the wizarding world are basically non-existent. Like even if the shelves are 30+ ft tall, you would think they would at least lock the giant glass balls down onto the shelf in some case or restraint so they don't roll away or get knocked off, but no, its just a little divot they rest in because nobody ever thought the shelf might get bumped.
