    Just found your channel. Been bowhunting 54 years and only 1 hunt with a peep sight. Couldn't get the peep off fast enough after I let the BIG boar hog walk cause I couldn't see through the peep. I have killed 100s of animals without a peep, only a kisser button. I like the looks of this nose button you have.

    I've been hunting this way for 30 years now. I use xl kisser and 3 finger pinky release and i would never go back. I line my string up with the inside edge of the riser. My old eyes can shoot deer at first and last light with no problem. Glad to see someone else doing it this way.

    I’ve been doing this for about 8 years now. It took me a while to learn my anchor point. But once I did I don’t think I could ever go back. Every deer I’ve ever killed has been this way. Glad to see more people looking into it. I haven’t tried the nose button yet but I may try it in y next set of strings.

    I am a very successful shooter and I have tried this and despite shooting very good with a peep the freedom you feel and how great the vision is with out a peep is hard to beat. The way I got into it is I purchased a bow with a peep 10" so i just started looking through the V of the string below it and wow how great it felt! Since than it has been on my mind to go completely peepless! Great video!

    On 70° days in my backyard I have no issues with my peep. But the last two late season hunts, with snow on the ground, I've struggled in the cold and low light situations getting my peep lined up on deer in my shooting lane. This tip confirms what I was thinking so I'm going to give it a try.
    Thanks for the video.

    Totally agree. I knocked my peep site out while walking to my stand about 7 years ago, and started shooting without it. Haven’t looked back. When combined with a single pin adjustable sight, hard to beat combination for whitetail hunting.

    Man you are so correct. I just realized that my anchor point was way off because the pipe was to high. I was getting tired to hold the bow steady because I have no refence point. I pulled the pipe out and start practicing now my anchor point is perfect the d loop is on the corner of my mouth and my nose is touching the string. I am shooting as accurate as before if not better but I see alot more and I have a solid anchor point.

    I have always used my anchor point along with a pin sight. I use a Concho style rope release as I have always felt that I get a more accurate anchor point as the pivotal position of the anchor is farther away from the string and therefore the string is less influenced by any torque or angular misalignment on my part. Never had a need for kisser buttons either. I feel that I am more accurate than with a peep or kisser due to the consistency of feeling my exact anchor vertically, horizontal,as well as draw length.

    I've been peep free for about three years now and like it a lot. I've been using a Perry's No Peep to help with alignment & torque awareness but I'm now considering the nose button instead of the No Peep because I have a problem seeing the bubble level around the No Peep housing. Which hasn't been a huge issue, I just level then aim but it's just another thing to try out.

    About 20 years ago we utilize a No-Peep to prevent shooting errors by torquing the bow when we shoot w/o a peep. Same principle is in the IQ-Sights nowadays. Did you see how much you twist / bend your string with your d-loop? Maybe try a softer loop material.

    Any DIY suggestions for removing, carefully of course without any razor blades, the peep without a bow press?? I've seen a couple instructional videos using scissors carefully. I'm Very curious in trying but if I can save a trip to my not-so -local bow shop and try it out I would like to go once if I need the peep re-installed. Already touch nose and have kisser. I think it'll really help with low light like you said.

    • @HuntAppalachia1

      If the peep is served in you’ll have to cut that. Not really any way around it. As far as getting the peep out the smooth end of two sharpie markers pushed between the string will open it up enough for the peep to come out. Hope that makes sense lol

    lot's of room for potential head tilt with this, but like he said, if you're experienced and have solid lock, it should work.
    question: given that the eye must not be perfectly in line w string (otherwise we could not see the pins), would that not induce angle of arrow flight in relation to sight line?

  • @josephtreadlightly5686
    @josephtreadlightly5686 Год назад

    I had 30 years with a kisser button & no peep. But I wear a mask & really like the nose button much more. I've seen alot of bad hits on deer videos. I've always wondered how many people torque their bows when they shoot with a peep & hit to the left or right? I think it's higher than many would think. I have a rock solid anchor & a very solid instinctive shot progression with my thumb release. When not using a peep the 1st thing I do after the nose button hits the same spot on my nose is make sure the cables lineup with my sight picture riser. This makes sure u r doing the same thing everytime. My brain craves for an open sight & I use the EZV bow sight this way. I've shot alot of recurve & I aim as I'm drawing back my bow with a recurve. I draw a compound the same way but I'm always just a little low on the target when I get to full draw due to my anchor with a release is much different than when shooting fingers. So it's important to have a shot progression & a rock solid anchor point b4 letting it fly.

    I'm on the other side of the spectrum. Have never shot a peep sight. Grew up never using one and have never felt I needed one. I understand the accuracy that can be attained by using one but I tried putting one in this year for the first time and shot with it for about 2 weeks and yanked it out lol. I feel like I'm boxed in with that peep, like I can't see anything. Also I use a single pin slider sight and I set the peep halfway through my range which is 50 yards. At twenty yards I had to scrunch my head down to see the pin and at 100 yards I could barely see the pin over the bottom edge of the peep. Not for me boys. I just got a bowmar nose button and I will be installing it to see how it goes with that. I have a feeling it's gonna be great with nose button and no peep👍

      Think of it this way. U get to watch the animal more carefully. There r so many things that your brain catches in the moments b4 about the animal & it's body language. Alot of times I can read this & get a better shot moments later or shoot when I want to & not have to. Allows for better decision making & being much more in tune with u & your bow. I think peeps r for target archers & not real life hunting scenarios.

    Question here. I've been trying to find a better way to shoot peepless with the nose button. I'm assuming you're looking around the string to see your pins based on what you said. I have been anchoring the button on the right side of the very tip of my nose and anchoring index knuckle in socket between back of jaw and ear and letting the string split my pins. The problem im having is that being right eye dominant if im perfectly aligned i cant even see my pin because its directly in front of my string. My question is. How can I anchor the way I currently am and look around string and be accurate. It seems that if im looking around the string the correlation between my pins and the target isnt true and ill be off to one side, especially at longer ranges. Any advice would be helpful. I really wanna be able to shoot around my string with good field of vison.

    Question for all you no peep folks: what reference do you use for horizontal alignment? Meaning where do you put the string in your vision? This seems to be the missing link for me getting right. I line string up with very right side of sight housing. Too far from center?

    • @joedryna161
      @joedryna161 2 года назад

      His/our alignment is consistent once you have two solid anchor points on the jaw and on the nose. The tip of the nose can work for some, if it's left or right that's your que. His set up would be how much pressure or lack there of is on the side of his nose. Of you are shooting take far you could have a secondary visual anchor as well. Once you dial in your anchors and get consistent at 30 and less just take a gander and see where the string lines up in comparison to the riser or sight. Honestly though once you learn and trust the string on the nose it's nothing you will even worry about. Only way if ever shoot a peep again is if I ever got into competitive shooting. That's not something I plan on doing though cuz I don't shoot enough to compete with any of those guys. I just enjoy shooting and hunting. Yank the peep when the season is over, take his advice and be patient. You will never go back

    Why do you use the nose button vs a kisser? I mean location, not brand/type.

      I believe the sharp points on the nose button are going to be more consistent than the round kisser. I know some guys that use both tho. The kisser for corner of the mouth and nose button for the edge of your nose. I don’t feel like I need both

      I just added a Kisser button(homemade, paracord) and really love the anchor. Thinking I'm gonna take my peep out now.

    Sad part is they they say you need this and that years ago when shot compounds with fingers and no peep sights no nose buttons and we still killed lots of deer

      Also sad when we wound lots of deer. Paper plate accuracy at 20 yards used to be accepted. Thankfully that has changed and whatever methods you use, 1" is what you need to be working for.

    I really wish I could shoot peepless sightless and releaseless in other words 100% instinctive

      I actually have the pins set up that my impact sight is exactly beside the pin ball not on the pin ball it takes a little practise but once you get it it's so much easier

    In high school my girlfriends dad set up a used bow I bought and he started with a kisser button and that’s how I learned. In a few days I was hitting 60 yard shots in good groups consistently. I never understood why anyone uses peep sights. Both are nothing more then a fixed reference point so you line the pin up from the same position every time. Both do the same thing.

    The minute I ditched the peep, everything just fell in place. As along as your anchor is consistent and your pin is riding just outside your string, your arrow is going where you want it.
