Who needs an overpriced appliance repairman when you have excellent tutorial videos like these. Saved me $250. Thank you!
You're welcome!
This video was super helpful, I was able to swap out my motor with no issues. No step was missed in your explanation. Thank you!
You are welcome. Glad we were able to help you out. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
Thank you so much for this instructional video! I’m an “older” woman who has never repaired an appliance in my life but I thought why not try a $25 fix myself before doling out money we don’t have? Said prayers and followed your video…. and success!
You're welcome!
You're my hero! 3 kids, 3 dogs, and a bunny plus I'm a nurse and wear medical compression. We NEED a working washing machine! We were able to find the part and replace it ourselves days before we could find a technician to come out. Thank you, thank you!
Just took mine apart. This was fantastic. So easy. I found a baby’s sock crammed in there. Saved me 150.00. Thank you!!!!
Glad we could help!
Just took mine apart for the same reason. Thus video helped a ton.
You guys need to leave your wives they obviously can’t laundry correctly
Definitely needed this video to figure out how to put the pump back together after I found a nail caught in the blades. Except one thing - at 6:15 where you put in the second screw. I don't think it should go there or it will penetrate the line with the check valve. I ended up putting them in a triangle pattern, the outer holes and the center one instead of the two right next to each other.
Thank you for the tip! Glad you were able to fix your issue! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
I am an avid Do it Your Selfer - Your video worked for me and your video and narrative are unbelievable good and through. Thank You
I love this video. Thank you so much for this. I was able to fix our washer thanks to you❤

If I didn't already have the part I would have bought from you. Thanks so much for posting this.
You are welcome! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
wife already had a new one ready to order and your vid was the final hope. Hot glue stick. Hot glue stick stuck in our pump. We are good now, thank you!
You're welcome! If there is anything we can help you with please let us know.
I got question if I drop a ring can I pass tru the drain pump over to the other side of the hose
Appliance repair by Ron Jeremy! Full service!
Super precise video, parts pro delivered part that was damaged and immediately overnighted the replacement. Amazimg customer service and my machine is working great
Excellent video!! So helpful!!❤🎉
Thank you!
Thanks for this video. In my case, I think there was a blockage in the hose somewhere. Removing and draining the basin seemed to fix everything. I took apart, inspected, and tested the pump with 120V to be sure.
Excellent video but I expected a lot of gunk and debris at the hose connections. And did Samsung design the machine without a lint filter? I have yet to find it.
What is your model number?
Is the impellor supposed to spin freely or have like a springy resistance that only alows you spin it once
The replacement unit I got does the same springy/single turn thing
Thanks for the video. I had a recent water leak with water in the black plastic underneath the drain pump. There is a bad smell from the drain pump when I removed it. Looking to ways to confirm bad drain pump if you have any. I did declog some soap scum type stuff from the external corrugated drain hose that moves water from washer to the PVC drain line, so I'm unsure if the leak was due to faulty drain pump, or a possible clogged external drain hose. No solid blockage, but excessive soap scum buildup?
All of the leaked water was inside the washer, and none of the tub or drain pump assembly rubber hoses were loose or blocked. All the spring clamps felt normal. There was no damage or cracks to the drain pump assembly that I could tell. There was no blockage inside the drain pump assembly.
However, when you rotate the impeller, is it supposed to be smooth rotation, or will there be a part of the rotation that drags? Mine requires extra force at certain points of rotation. It also felt like when I rotated it, the rotation felt easier the more I "worked" it. Feels a little suspicious.
In my case, I have a DC31-00054A on a WA5451ANW/XAA 01.
Could you point out where I can buy the correct hose/black pipes that's connected to the drain pump assembly ?? Thank you !
What is your model number?
@appliancepartspros I believe DC31-00054D is the pump part number
And WA400PJHDWR/AA is definitely the washer number
The tub to pump hose is dc67-00638a, and this is the drain hose dc67-00369a. These hoses do come with the pump assembly DC98-01877A. If you need to place an order you can place the order through the website, or you can call us at 1-877-477-7278 to place the order over the phone.
@appliancepartspros thank you so much. I will look them up on your website and place the order.
You're welcome!
Great video! Found a screw in my impeller, broke a wire connection in the process . But you had a great shot Of where each one went thank you!
Thanks for the help. Going to buy this part from you for posting the video.
Thanks. Glad we could help!
Is this pump DC31-00054D the same as DC31-00054A? Mine is the 2nd one and it looks different and it’s at the front , you can’t replace it from the back
It's a little late, but the three fin impeller is the DC31-00054A and has one screw holding the drain pump to the plastic assembly. The four fin impeller as shown in the video is the DC31-00054D and has two screws holding the drain pump to the plastic assembly.
About to attempt the change from the assembly being attached to the bottom of the drum to the frame. Why aren't instructions included as to where to connect the bracket to the frame?
Great vid helped a ton...
My 2 wires are blue and white for the motor. Is blue considered black?
Do you happen to have the model number of your appliance?
I know the video is 9 years , but when it’s time to replace, hopefully, it’s still in stock and not obsolete! 😢
Thank you for the nice video, I had the same problem and my washing machine was not draining. I went to Appliance Parts and pros and bought the pump and replaced it. But I still have the same problem, the washing machine is not draining. Do you have any advice for me?
What is the model number of your washer? Have you checked for clogs in the drain hose?
Maybe need new pump or cleaning drain filter
Your title and part number are wrong. 🤨 Your title says DC31-00054”A” in the part but it should be “D” Your link even goes to the correct part “D” PLEASE CHANGE THE TITLE OF THE VIDEO. I ordered the incorrect part because of the wrong part number in the title. 😢
However your demonstration of removing and replacing the part are wonderful. Good job on the pace, descriptions, sound quality, video quality, editing, and not saying “I did this part earlier” without showing what you did. Good job. 👍
I've replaced the washer purge motor twice. btw the purge motor is faulty because if you leave the purge tube at full length and down into the wall drain it will cause it to back flow towards the lowest point which is the base of the washer thus leaving the pump face submerged in water. This leads to the pump leaking into to magnets inside the pump. It corrodes and the magnets crack and the polarity is compromised. The manual says to have the tube cut or at the right length just below the opening of the wall drain opening. They don't say it will f up your poorly made motor seal. Why would they?
It has a little black rubber that is called check valve to prevent that , it only let water out , not in
I have a model that the drain pump attached to the tub and is broke off. I'm looking for an replacement for the wall/ bottom mount. My washer model: Samsung Washer WA422PRHDWR/AA-. Anything you guys can help would really appreciated.
Thank you
You are welcome.
These new pumps are driven by a small light duty motor, theyre cheaply built and much more failure prone than the older pumps that were reliably driven directly off the main washer motor. Older pumps lasted longer and were cheap to buy as well.
Hope the video helped you get the motor changed!
I’ve never had an older washers pump go out. This is ridiculous after 1 1/2 years
Is there a standard drain pump motor for all Samsung washers?
Just unscrewed the drain pump housing from the washer as said . But when I went lift it up it's still connected to a small hose which is tied together to the pump wiring at the bottom base of my washer via a zip tie. I'm I supposed to cut the zip tie to have better access? Help I really need my washer as my five kids don't understand changing clothes 4 times a day with no washer means.🙏
PS my Samsung washer only has 1 wire connector that attaches to the pump.
Great information, I installed mine the exact way.....hope it lasts and i dont have to clean up a drum of water later
Glad to help!
If you have a shop vac, stick the drain hose into the vac hose and suck the water out then dump it in your laundry tub. No puddles!
Great video. Issue related to wiring. When I disconnected my old faulty pump, the factory wiring was exactly the opposite way you showed on your video. Does it make any difference?
Thank you very much.
Thanks man 👨
You are welcome!
I replaced the pump and it still does not pump. I put meter on the wires and got 120v only intermittently when doing pump test in test mode. i connected pump again and repeated the pump test and it tried to work for about 2 seconds only one out 10 times. Now I don't know if I need a new control board or water level sensor.
Without knowing what you have, I would suggest posting the problem along with the appliance model number on our repair forum and the techs can help you troubleshoot the problem. forum.appliancepartspros.com/
What model # Samsung is this? If this is the same as mine I will be buying the pump from you. Thanks
I remove the motor drain and water level pressure with new ,but my washing maschine still canot drain
Have you checked for any clogs? Have you had any error codes come up on the machine? What is the model number of your washer?
WA80G5 water draining problem kindly assist pls.
Is it just me or does his definition of "vertical" and "horizontal" seem incorrect....I copied the wire color connections by what was shown in the video, but his description seems opposite from terminal orientations.
This video is a generic video to give you an idea on how to replace the part. If you have a different model the wiring could be different, so it may not match the video exactly.
Where do coins, small parts, etc end up if they're too heavy for this pump to push up the drain hose? Other clothes washers have a junk collector trap for such things.
What is your model number?
@@appliancepartsprosI have the same question, mine is the Samsung WA44A3405AP
There is not a separate filter listed for the model WA44A3405AP. You would just need to check the drain pump for any blockages.
I replaced my pump and it still drained but only very slightly or not at all but I could hear the pump moving water. I now realize that I reversed the wires. Does this sound like this would cause the problem I'm having?
