Over the time I've been watching your videos you have REALLY helped me love my pale skin. I used to go tanning and lay out in the sun constantly which was so bad for me and it never really did anything so I was always so frustrated. But now I embrace my porcelain dollness and I love it!! Yes! This comment! The pale, RED struggle is real. People who only see me in makeup always say when I'm not wearing any "Wow, somebody got a sunburn." "No. That's just my face." And people who don't see me in makeup a lot (at work, I'm not in an office and usually wear gym clothes to work) always say "Wow, you look SOOOO pretty." I just can't be bothered to cover up my skin all the time, it needs to breathe some days =P If I don't wear full coverage, it looks like I can't blend my foundation properly cause the natural red stops perfectly on my jawline. =P

Angela D My rosacea gets worse from being in the sun and exercising, so there have been a few times where my foundation wouldn't cover the flare-up, so I would blame it on, "OH MY GOSH I FORGOT MY SUNSCREEN AND NOW I HAVE A SUNBURN!" Stupid skin. XD

Most foundations I've tried have ALWAYS been too dark or too yellow, and I'm so excited to try out some of the foundations you've recommended with more pinky undertones. I just bought the NARS Luminous Weightless Foundation in Siberia. I can't believe I finally have something light enough! Its really buildable and feels like your wearing nothing. In Australia it's fairly hard to come by pale skin brands. Love

Revlon Colorstay is my fav foundation! Been using it since I was a teen and now I’m 33. It’s literally the best.
Also if you think the kvd liquid is too heavy looking trying the powder!! I have a lot of acne and redness and of course when you're so pale you see EVERYTHING. The powder has AMAZING coverage and it's super light and comfortable.
The good thing about having pale skin is that when you are shopping online you can always assume you are the lightest shade

I tried the stick foundation you mentioned a long time ago and I think it was too dark for me but Ulta has their own stick foundation and the lightest shade was a good match for me. I love it and definitely recommend it!
I remember when I was 16 how I tried and tried and tried and tried to get my body to tan. I burn, and then the red settles into a tan. It is IMPOSSIBLE for me to get brown color without becoming red as a cooked crayfish first. And my legs won't even burn at all. I can sit in the sun for hours and hours and nothing happens! Now, a lot due to watching your videos, I do embrace my paleness a lot more and I actually don't find myself to look as good when I am post-burning brown. I live in Sweden, in northern Europe, and with only swedes behind me in the family tree for generations, my skin is as pale as scandinavian skin gets. Sadly, even here in northern europe, makeup retailers and Swedish brands frown upon pale skin and it's so difficult to find foundations that are pale enough. I am getting that manic panic foundation asap!

Makeup Forever has some pretty light shades in the mat velvet+ and the HD one. Also I use UD Naked in 1.0 when I'm really pale and there's even a shade lighter with more pink tones. I get so pale in the winter but I have a yellow undertone so it can be hard to find a match but I have to say it's much easier than it used to be! Finding a concealer that's light enough to cover blemishes and not too pink is a completely other story though... Thanks for the video Taylor!

ugh I love this look on you today, you look amazing. I never do cool toned smoky eyes because I can't be arsed to apply full coverage undereye concealer, which I have to do if I do dark eyes, but this is making me rethink. just flawless.
What I have been doing for the last couple months is mixing the Kat Von D with the loreal infallible because that's what I had and it's great. The fit me foundation matte + poreless is amazing and the perfect shade but my skin is dry and it's fall now so can't wear it. I've been using revlon colorstay for years now and it's great if my skin is not cooperating with anything else.

Hello Lady @thataylaa Thank you so much for the information on the holy grail of pale foundation. I noticed you mentioned Sephoras air brush foundation and though I've never used it I have been using Diors Air Flash #200 and I can say that it's definitely an amazing foundation for being under hot lights on a stage for long periods of time and you can build up on your coverage with it too if you know what you're doing with make up art. I think the difficult part about air brush foundations its that you have to think differently about application depending on what look you are going for. Yes you can get a fabulous beautiful natural looking complexion with a sheer air brush foundation like Sephora but with Dior I not only get that I can also achieve a velvet smooth full coverage that is luminous and natural looking for photos, tv ,stage or just a hot night on the town and not look like I cried my makeup off by the end of the night. Though Dior is 60bones you can make that can last a good three months every day " IF " you know what you're doing, I went though a lot of trial and error with Dior because the ladies at the make up counter use it like they're spraying raid on a roach.
I have rimmel stay matte 010. I could use a little brightening/highlighter but the shade is close. I think I have a problem with it, though. When I first put it on, it looks great and I'm impressed. Then I use powder to set it and perhaps I should not. It's just so habitual. My skin is slightly oily and I also use sunscreen (plus, it's always warm here), so I don't know if I want to attempt to NOT set it with powder... but when I go outside, it looks a little cakey in some areas. The first thing I did was bought facial wax to see if that helps, but I have not used it again since... I still have to do that.
I'm using the too faced born this way in snow right now. it's a little thick and heavy but has full coverage
I am a ghost with dry and acne prone skin so L'oreal Infalliable the regular kind, not the matte version, is my holy grail. Its so light and gives great coverage without drying out your skin so it's pretty much amazing for my skin type/colour. Looooove it. Love this video! :)
Also, how vexing is it when a company calls a foundation colour porcelain and blatantly orange? The worst.

I also have that Kat von D foundation and completely agree. The colour match is great, it's sooo pale, probably the palest (therefore closest match) I've found yet. But it is SO heavy and cakey, even for me and I prefer matte full coverage foundations.

Sam Evans Hey! i'm pale a/f as well and I only just started trying out fake tans and I've found the best thing to do is go with a light/medium mousse tan, apply it all over and only let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off, not one or two hours. It really evens my skin tone out, makes me a couple of shades darker and it looks so natural. I have to say for me its the only way of fake tanning that looks good on really pale skin. :) hope that helps!

I have MAC studio fix fluid s15 in NW10 and it is too dark for my skin(maybe because it is a little on the pink shade),but it is good foundation,so I gave it to my mom,she is a little darker than me,so it fit her perfectly.I find out that nyx stay matte but not flat fluid and powder in ivory 01,it really good match,pale and it does no oxidase(at least not on me),but I do use moisturizing cream and after prime it with nyx stay mat and even use make up forever hd loose powder and nyx matte setting spray...yeah I have really oily skin.For now this works,it does not break me out,stays matte,not kinky...after 10-12 hours it has healthy glow,in the summer I use powder mac studio fix nc15 when I get "tan" ... :D

Don't know if you've tried it yet but the lightest shade in the makeup forever ultra hd is HELLA light. First time I've ever had a foundation be too pale for me. Plus the foundation its self is pretty bomb!

Very useful video, thank you. The first one (Manic Panic) looks like the perfect solution for me as I could use it with my actual foundation to find the right color adapted to my porcelain skin tone. I could make the adjustment by myself by blending the 2 colors together.
It's really a shame it's so hard to find a good foundation for very pale skin tones here. In the past I had a Korean foundation (that doesn't exist anymore it seems) that was just perfect. Korean products are amazing but hard to find in our countries unfortunately.
I'd really love to hear your thoughts on good powder foundations too. I went through Sephora recently and everything was too dark or too yellow. I have to stick to Mac. I was thinking of trying the Laura Gellar one in porcelain though...

For years I mixed and matched, used Manic Panic powder over too dark foundations, poisoned my skin with Dermablend and even went back to 18th century make-up to try to find SOMETHING that worked. Thank you, so much, for all you are doing for us!

Too faced has now come out with the color cloud and hourglass vanish stick in Blanc. My holy Grail is Estee Lauder double wear foundation in ON1 alabaster. I'm albino so I'm extremely pale. These are my go to. I'm having trouble finding a drugstore foundation though. They are all too dark

I use the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick in the shade Blanc! Expensive but worth the money! Only thing that doesn't turn my skin pink.
The Kat-von D 42 is a very dry foundation, so it must be perfect for very oily skins with pink undertone. I used it even when i have neutral undertone (in my country these shades are not solt at all) but my skin is normal/dry and it was horrible to apply and the result was the driest skin i've ever had. And it oxidizes so...

Make Up Forever has one in number #15 or walmary has one that is Drew Barrymore's brand called Flower and the lightest shade which is what I have is called LF1 and it is pretty decent coverage for a drugstore brand. I loved it before I found the MUFE(and Kat Von D's foundation.
The only shade I have ever found to match my skin without having to feather it all the way down my neck is Siberia from Nars. I learned about Manic Panic from you and it's saved me so much money! Now I don't have to throw out a good (and sometimes expensive) foundation because it's too dark. So thanks! :)

Any recommendations for a more dewy, less matte foundation? I have pale and *VERY* dry skin and find that most foundations just settle into my dry spots and make me look kinda... scaley.

I have Sahara skin with an oasis grease nose =P I wanted to love the fit me dewy foundation too, it wasn't as bad clingy to my dry patches as matter formulas (why Kat Von D, WHY??? Still love her on extremely good skin days when I can take her though), but it looks disgusting on my nose after 2 hours, I found it worse with a primer and also pore filler. Most disappointing part, it burns my face a little. =( So, I'll be watching this thread ;)
I actually have had luck with the nyx pore filler, surprisingly enough. But ya, the nose is always such a problem. Mine like decomposes the makeup that sits on it so I always have to be careful in that area to have a light hand.
April Dickinson try exfoliating and using a really good moisturizer before applying your foundation , it should make a big impact :)

You should try the Helthy Mix Serum Foundation by Bourjois. The lightest shade is pretty pale too! I love this stuff...

I have tried using many foundations but most are too orange/pink for me. The only one I have found that matches me is the Fit Me. Except for some reason that brand isn't very consistent? I have bought the same shade in that foundation 3 times. It was very different each time.

Haha! I know the struggle you face! When you mentioned how shocking it was that a foundation was too light, I literally lol'd. I have the Born This Way in Snow and it is a tad too light for me and I thought the same thing 'Can this really be happening? ' Thanks for the recommendations!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I have finally found a shade that actually works for me, being so freaking pale. Loreal Pro matte Infallible was the one I bought. I cannot tell you how much this helped me. I just turned 40 and I have never had a foundation that's been my shade hahaha Thank you SO MUCH!!!!!!

do a review on limelight by alcone or mary Kaye timewise!!!!! time wise is 22 dollars limelight is 36. limelight is 50 percent pigment!!!! also I've suffered from acne, very similar to your texture and I replaced my moisturizer with 100 percent argan oil and bio oil for the scars and hyper pigmentation.
