Men can be shallow without even realizing it, even if they don't mean to be.

Im a nurse in an orthopedic surgeons office...we do PRP and you are exactly right, It is an inflammatory process, however, we have SOOO many patients get amazing results with it. Idk what your surgeon will say, but at our office we have patience stop all anti inflammatory medications before, during, and after PRP, as to not interfere with the bodys natural process. (Not sure, what medications you're on or if that would even be an issue for you) Also, vit d can help in the healing process after orthopedic surgery. Good luck and hope you find some relief.

Taylor! As a French Canadian living in the United States, hearing that you are learning French because "it's a respect thing" is so refreshing! Let me just tell you this one thing. We Québécois LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when someone takes the time to say something in French. Doesn't matter if you only say "je veux une poutine s'il vous plaît", your efforts will go a long way. Now, if you are close to the border of Ontario aka the Outaouais region (where I'm originally from), then you will find more times than not that someone will answer you back in English. Don't despair and just tell them you want to practice your French. They will love you forever and even throw in a few extra Sephora samples! Enjoy Québec! It's a beautiful province with beautiful people and Christmas is so magical up there!
Want to dazzle your new family? Listen to some traditional music. Gilles Vigneault, Félix Leclerc, Jean-Pierre Ferland, Robert Charlebois. I love Harmonium and Beau Dommage. That is music from my younger days.

I’ve had Prolotherapy for sever “tennis elbow” and the first couple of rounds didn’t seem to help but the 3rd and 4th worked tremendously. Steroid injections would eventually wear off but after the Prolotherapy it has yet to come back, going on 2 years. My advice, be patient, it seems to take a few rounds to feel relief.
I’ve also suffered with chronic daily migraine in my 30’s for a 10-12 year span (Sumatriptan saved my life). I was eventually treated with antibiotics (suspected chronic Lyme) and my headaches, body and neck stiffness FINALLY dissipated. I’m rooting for you! I hope this is your FINALLY!

When I was 21, I was in a bad car accident that left me a paraplegic and I had a hole in my throat from when I had a breathing tube. And I wasn't able to swallow thin liquids. So I had to be on thicken fluid. Being a CNA, I knew all about that stuff. It was awful, and my mother was a saint too!! She was with me every day, and she'd thicken any and every type of drink to find something that actually tasted good. Nothing ever did. But I totally get your whole experience! I had a spinal fusion in my T6-T7 vertebrae, and I wore a turtle shell for a while to try and keep my spine strait. That didn't do anything for me, so I had to go back and have supporting rods placed on either side of my spine. Having a great hospital stay and nursing staff literally makes all the difference!! I ended up meeting my husband while I was at rehab. He was a CNA and every time he'd go by my room and I had people in my room I'd always say jokingly there goes my bf. It's so funny to think about now that we've been together 14 years and got married this year our anniversary is 2/2 for our 14th, and we got married 2/4/24. I've never been happier in my life!! Even though everyday is a constant battle and struggle I really wouldn't change it for anything!! I hope y0u feel better soon and that you heal fast!!! ♡♡♡

My mom’s neck is all plates and screws after failed cadaver discs. She hated her scar and the feeling. It took me years to get her to be okay not wearing a scarf and in her defense her scar is intense. I’m so happy I stayed and slept in the hospital for her recovery because there were so many horrors that could’ve happened had I not caught the mistakes before they made them. Unfortunately she has to sleep upright in a chair or the pain, swelling, and choking are too intense from laying down. Then someone hit her in a car collision and we have been at a loss. She can’t drive or function without dizziness, basically nothing feels right. I really wish she had a different doctor for many of her neck surgeries and I pray so intensely that we can find a way to get her any sense of normalcy and happiness. I’m scared but you finding a great doctor gives me hope. I know you probably don’t want to say but may I ask who your doctor is that did the surgery?

    YES!
I’ve had 7 rounds (70-100 injections each time) of prolotherapy in my occiput / C1 -C7 and a couple cute times in T1-T2.
    Absolutely changed my life.
I had extreme cervical distructure, intracranial hypertension, vagus nerve damage, the works - and was pretty much bed-bound. At about round 2-3 I started to notice a difference, and improved more each time. Days in bed are really rare now... unless I want to be there, heh heh.
Happy to chat about any part of it. I've always felt endeared to you as a chronically chill neck girly.
I highly recommend Dr. Hauser at Caring Medical. Most other doctors do just one injection, but he drenches the area to optimize efficacy. Plus, his whole staff is uncommonly kind.
So pumped for your healing journey!
Hope is huge. Thanks for taking us along.

I really feel for you. My partner has EDS, and he didn’t find out until about 2 years ago. He works in healthcare, and has his whole life, so he’s never had decent health insurance, because healthcare workers don’t usually even get the offer (which is crazy, but that’s a whole other topic). When we got together, because my insurance allows domestic partners, I was able to get him on my really good insurance, through the health insurance company I work for. He has had two complete shoulder reconstruction surgeries, one last year, and one this year. The hardest part for us, is trying to find him doctors that KNOW and UNDERSTAND EDS. In physical therapy, and surgeries, everything is exactly opposite for EDS patients of what someone without EDS would need. Example, most people need to loosen their ligaments, or loosen things like their hip socket. Well with my partner, and with EDS, you have to TIGHTEN everything. When you said the Botox would “relax” your muscles, I gasped! You need your muscles TIGHTENED. You need to strengthen your muscles. My partner got injections for his shoulders (before surgery) and it made them so much worse. It has been a long battle with doctors, specialist, surgeries etc. and I know that it will always be a battle, and I am ready for it. I’m so happy you found someone willing to be there for you, because so many people don’t understand. My partner gets migraines due to his neck moving so much that it creates a gap and his brain literally tries to escape through the back of his head where his spinal cord is. There’s so much with EDS, there’s so much pain, so much fighting for what you need, for doctors to understand, and I’m so sorry you have to deal with that. I truly hope you can find something that works for you. My partner needs another surgery for his collarbone going out of socket repeatedly, and for his hip (although we can’t find anyone that knows how to tighten his socket etc). We also are saving up to move to Minnesota because our insurance tells him that he needs the EDS specialists in Mayo there (we currently live in WI). I am thankful for my job, so he has had the opportunity to get the care he needs. I hope that you can also find some relief soon. Keep fighting the good fight! You are so loved, I know that EDS can be hard, almost impossible some days, but I truly hope you can part through this and get some true help

Okay my partner just came home and I explained what I wrote to you, and he said if you have not gone to the EDS Society website to find a doctor, you should, even if there is a wait list, get on it. That is how he found the only doctors in WI that were specialists and could actually do the surgeries on him, and both of his surgeries are successful because he had doctors that understand EDS. Also, he suggested you listen to the podcast Hypermobile MD, because she has EDS and interviews doctors that specialize in EDS.

I just had 2 disc replacements and fusion on my neck 3 weeks ago. I’ve had a constant headache since a car accident in 2006 which can get debilitating. Sadly, this surgery is unlikely to fix the pain but it had to be done to prevent things getting even worse because my latest MRI showed significant deterioration,
I hope you continue to recover and live your life fully.

Im so happy to see that you're back. I have a cousin who has EDS (it's actually how her family found ours, through ancestry dna). Im not sure how severe hers is. My dad has also had neck surgery after a severe work injury. He has cadaver bone, as well as a steel cage and screws in his neck, since 2008. I hope you continue to recover well, and your migraines go away!

So happy for you Taylor! I’ve been seeing videos about vitamin B1 or benfotiamin for a bunch of symptoms related to the autonomic nervous system so if anyone has pots, hyper mobility, me/cfs, fibromyalgia, insufficient pancreatic enzymes, the list continues, look it up! Apparently helps the brain signals. Also converts glucose to energy. Must be taken with a Bcomplex. ❤

So many appts! It can be overwhelming to have to be so many places every day, take your time with coming back to RUclips. I was honestly shocked that you're back already.
I know you don't want advice.... But if you're doing PT for the neck and your shoulders are locking up you might ask about Dry Needle Therapy. It's like acupuncture with electricity. I had it when I was doing PT on my elbow and one session unlocked it so much. It's not excruciating to have done, uncomfortable, but the results are awesome. It might give you some relief from the tension without weakening the muscles. They have to wait a certain number of weeks post op to do it though. Maybe 6-8? It's been a while since I had it done.
Either way, I'm glad to see you're doing well!

Chronic migraines since I was a child. Had C5/C6 fused in May 2022 (at 35) - the recovery was longer than I expected and I still have times where I will get the tight neck and traps soreness BUT I have SO many fewer migraines now - like 1 or 2 a month and I feel “normal” so many more days than not! Hoping it’s the same or better for you! 💜

Oh Taylor, I can relate in so many ways. First of all, I’m so sorry all that you have gone through and I hope that this surgery is just the beginning of your recovery and feeling less pain going forward. I have had three back surgeries, one being a spinal fusion. Then, after all of my back surgeries, I had two separate broken bones in my spine. It’s like I have an 80 year old spine and I’m 50 now. I was in chronic pain from age 30 to 40. It is not easy and it is not easy for people who love and support you. However, I have been in very little pain the past ten years and finally found a medication that lets me live a full and productive life. My husband always ask me, how are you always this positive every day? And I tell him, because I’m not in pain!!
I too wish you all the happiness and health in the world! 😊

I don't know if you recall my comment on your initial video regarding this, but I did test positive for HD. Symptom onset will be anytime from now until 40 max. There are so many parallels between our experiences. To grieve all the normal things we thought we would get to experience... to have a rare disease rob you of life... to have hardly any treatment...no human should have to go through this. But we aren't alone. As isolating as this feels... we have to remember someone out there truly understands & is going through the same experiences.

French tip!: I came across this RUclipsr (2e peau) and she speaks Canadian French (Quebec French) exclusively in her videos in such a way that it's very clear/crisp for non-native French speakers (some native speakers are just too fast for me to keep up). I'm Canadian and grew up learning French, but spoken French wasn't taught very well where I grew up so I like to watch her videos to hear Canadian French in action.

I sympathize with you … when your body prevents you from functioning properly it really can take a toll on you mentally. I have been battling migraines for over 20 years. Totally wasn’t expecting anything so soon but super excited to know you’re doing well. I really hope this surgery is a success for you. 🙏🏻
As for PRP it only lasted about 4 months for me. The injections were the most painful (even with lidocaine) and after that I felt some relief within a few weeks. But the only thing that truly hurt me were the injections in my neck and back while under twilight on propofol.
