This is pure gold. Dare I say platinum? Keep up the good work fellas.
Thanks Dustin. Hope it was useful.
Thank you! Thank you. Thank you.
Hope it helps Mario.
It's 6:00 a m on a December day as I watch the video. The season is over for 4 months. I'm reminded that every level of player has to do these basics to their ability. When you hit YOUR wall the tendency is to chase technology or latest guru. We'd all be better served to drilling the basics. Nicely presented 😊
Very practical tips!
Thank you for sharing your ideas..
Im a beginner🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
You guys have really shaped my game. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Frankie. Hope this video helps.
You guys are amazing!!!
Brilliant vid , a lot of information to take on board .
This video changed my life...much appreciated.
When I see a 30 min video, I get even more hyped to watch it!
Hope this helps Justin.
I’m the opposite. Give me the Readers Digest version of what I need in 3-5 mins. I do 1.5 playback speed
Sound advice. My son and me will take these one at a time and see how much he understands... it might be a little soon for him yet but I'll keep this video in mind for when the time is appropriate.
some great tips thanks
More loft, steeper attack from the rough was very enlightening. Thanks!
Great video guys. Learned some great tips and ideas. Thanks.
Awesome video...great work
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video guys....Love the practice techniques.
Thank you Piers & Andy, great video as always. Can you explain in more detail why spin matters and how it affects the ball flight? I think most amateurs just consider the effects of spin as purely how it lands on the green... including me! More color around that would make your demonstration from the rough/fairway even more useful! Thanks again, Sean
Great video lads full of great content 👍🏻really helpful
Brilliant stuff guys 👍🏻😁
The tip on how to play out of the rough is brilliant and explains a few things. I always took an extra club or two from the rough thinking I’m not going to get as good a connection as normal and I always wondered why I’d go sailing over the back. I just kept thinking I’d thinned it. I’m trying this at the weekend. Thanks.
Great video. This is the first time I see the instruction for hitting it out of the rough! I thought it very counter intuitive as usually I do the opposite and add more club instead and swing harder! Would love a video of those types of tricks in unusual situations. Thanks so much!
Well, I can attest this program is beneficial. I finished week one a couple days ago and shot 82 mid-week and then 75 on Sunday! This is my lowest round ever. For me the videos and practice guides on posture and grip really helped! Thanks, guys, for your great work. I have been watching your videos for a long time and would offer the break 80 plan with progressive skills building is what I needed.
Amazing upload...cannot wait to get back on the golf course after watching this video!
Great. Let us know how it goes.
Excellent video. Im a high 70s low 80s golfer already, been a while for the 70s, but ive been in a slump lately and been hooking a lot with my 4 iron and higher. Got that fixed with a couple of trips to the range so i figured id come here for some pointers to try and tweak a little more to get me back to playing my better golf. I already do a lot of these myself, but id always been taught to club up in the rough because it would slow your head speed down going through the rough and kill the distance, but the way you guys explained that and the visual aids for me helped a lot. Im never excited to be in the rough, but i will definitely be keeping this in mind the next time i am. Keep up the awesome videos.
Great stuff lads. So glad you are helping high handicappers. ;-)
Pleasure Dave. Hope this helps.
Big thanks to you guys! After several years I finally broke into the 80s consistently and that is due to your videos. Started with the grip tutorials and worked through quite a few of your other videos to reach this goal. Thanks a bunch. Have been recommending your videos to my different playing partners and they are starting to see some results as well.
Thanks for advise
Lovely video. Let me go try it out on the course!
First! I love your content, went round in 76 today!
That's great Chris. Good work
#GolfGoals!!!
When it was 30 mins I was so happy
thank you thank you. I have trying to figure out a iron striking drill to do on the mat at the range(due to my crappy winter/spring weather here in the states) and this is it. Tried it our yesterday and man it was great. Ill be doing it again tomorrow and playing Friday. Cant wait to see how it helps my contact to stay consistent.
Another great lesson guys. Really good channel and I see so many of my own mistakes being addressed. Cheers
Another quality video
Broke 80 for the first time this weekend using these drills alone! Excited for the rest of the series, thanks guys.
Best golf instruction video, I've seen 10/10.
I have lessons with my club pro & I've dropped from 25 to 11 in 4 years but watching your videos has contributed massively.
Great work, guys keep it up 😁👍
That's amazing. Great work!!!
Just think of it if you said OK from this yardage I'll use a 60 and from this yarardage I'll use a 58. And from this real tight lie I might use a 56. It would be a ground Breaking moment on RUclips. You would have the 1st golf video in the history of RUclips to say what degree wedge they're hitting from and from what distance around the green. The reason why I say this cause you guys were undisputably the best golf teaching youtube channel.
My volleyball coach who was a sports psychologist talked about a reset “button” after mistakes that help you move on after it can simple as tapping your foot or touching the side of your head. Just another way to get past the bad shots
Course planning, especially knowing the green breaks has really helped to bring my handicap down. Would appreciate if you can do more videos on reading greens.
The only thing stopping me from breaking 80 is breaking 90
KOSMEDICA - Mỹ Phẩm Trị Liệu Hàn Quốc Hahaha same with me!😂
With you there pal.😁😁😁
KOSMEDICA - Mỹ Phẩm Trị Liệu Hàn Quốc ditto!
the only thing stopping me from breaking 90 is the cart girls.
The only thing stopping me from breaking 90 is breaking 100
Good stuff guys. :-)
Excellent video guys. Really good tips. Thank you.
Thanks David.
Great video, I think it's my pre shot routine that lets me down the most, so I will work on what you say, thanks
Let us know how it goes Neil
No problem
I feel identified by this video group frame. Very good principles. My self, I have more problems to pitching from 40 to 80 yards. I love to hear good advice. Thanks guys!
Glad this was useful Marcos.
You guys have helped me incredibly! I watch you two everyday, every time I play I can tell I get better. Amazing tutorials.I love the content and am going to subscribe to your web page! I have yet to keep score but my best friend is a scratch golfer ( he has been trying to get me to play for years) he informed me I made two pars and one birdie this past weekend.....of course the rest are in the woods or water but that is ......par for the course. Thanks Gents.
Thanks for the comment. Great to hear we are helping. Keep us posted on your progress and let us know how this goes.
@@meandmygolf. I owe you boys a Pint!
When does break 70 come out?
Hi Brodie. Hope you're well? It's a small percentage of players but could be worth making it. Your game looks like it's getting better.
😂😂😂
Great practice drills like how you both keep simple and easy to understand. I will use this as my practice plan
Thanks Brian. Hope this helps. let us know.
Love the content guys. If you could show us how the irons and woods should sit at address I'd appreciate it. Cheers.
I’m new to the game of golf but absolutely love it. I’ve never had lessons just practice at the range and watching your videos. I’ve dropped from swinging a 115 to 95. Still along way to go but thanks for the great videos. Please keep them coming. My biggest fail at the moment is chip shots that fall short all the time. I struggle to commit. I have a chart for all my irons and wedges with the distances which is pretty accurate. As soon as it full below full swing to controlled distance I struggle. Any help?
this is exactly me rn. been playin for 2 months decently and this is what fails me, too hard to make the put for par. also if u just look at the person not talking they just be staring aimlessly into the camera
@Meandmygolf I have a really solid question. I see this a lot in pros and in pierce. Right before my man Pierce hits the shot he always does a little bump squat to the left or to the right to get his body and arms in motion. Which way is he doing the little shimmy move before his shot? Would love a video on this or quick explanation. People don’t understand that this move really helps transition your body and arms in the right motion just before take away
im a junior golfer and practice a lot and just broke 50 on 9 holes fpor the first time. I know iots not good but guess what! 3 months ago my average was a 73! im practicing hours everyday now because im on summer! thank you guys! (I need help because my long irons are hard to hit)
Great video.
Thanks. Hope it's useful to you.
I also like the Vision54 concept of rating each shot as great, good or good enough. Really takes the negativity out of the shop result. The ‘boxes’ routine rocks!
In my lesson this past Saturday, my instructor had me doing that same drill with the alignment rod, keeping weight in the middle of the feet. 👍
Great Joe. Hope it helps.
Good content. Question I have for you...Are you strengthening your grip for your chip shots? Is that to deaden the hands?
Hi Rob. No we keep the grip the same but maybe even a little lighter grip pressure.
Is there anyway to test my ball turf connection on a driving range. Unfortunately my driving range does not have grass to play off? So you think spraying foot spray on the floor infront would work..
Something that works really well is a strip of duct tape just behind where you want to be striking the turf. If you catch the tape it ends up on your clubhead. Less likely to leave a lot of mess behind on the mat too!
You can still use the towel Kevin. That will work just fine to let you know if you are getting ball first.
Break 80 occasionally and often shoot between 80-83. Typically a double bogie brain explosions on each 9 cost me the difference!
HAHA me too.
better than 4 separate bogeys.
That is literally me. I play around 80-85 and the only reason its not between 78-80 is because of like 2 double bogeys
Sounds familiar. I've broken 80 several times, but never on a tough course. Last year, played a good course and shot 81 with a quad and a double on the back. 37-44.
Instead of tape or powder to mark the ball strike I sign my initials on the ball with a Sharpie as most golfers do ... making sure the letters are large enough (1"x1")... and face the letters towards the club face. This ink will transfer to the club face every time off the tee and will last even when dry for some time, and if you are playing lift & clean as many of us are forced to do early in the season, align the ball as you did on the tee with the same result. This works for me as I can easily check the ball position on the club face under playing conditions. The ink easily wipes off with a swipe of a finger. Of course this "playing" method does not work with the driving range "bucket" ... without doubt it's the tape or spray.
Hey guys, I am currently playing off 16 but feel like a few adjustments in my set up could bring the numbers down! Are you guys planning on doing any more swing analysis videos that I could maybe send in? Love the videos, thanks guys!
We will be doing some very soon yes Keir.
Hi guys. What about bounce of wedge in the shots that Andy did? (Safe and flop)
Early extension a problem and being up on the toes through impact
I would say take advantage of short/easy courses as training courses. Great opportunities for extra tee shots with irons or hybrids that you may never get to hit on full courses without "short changing" your driver opportunities. Lots of practice for using those seldom used clubs to set layups for preferred wedges and scoring irons. Doesn't hurt at all that the prices are usually very friendly and the pace is liberal as is the time commitment.
Loved the email you sent me! great marketing idea
What foot spray do you use for marking the club face?
I'm a mid 80's golfer (79 lowest score) and struggle the most with approach shots 100+ out and putting.. but most of all its putting. I avg around 26 per round and would really like to get it under 22.. I do realize that I need to start leaving myself within 10ft for this to happen which brings me back to approach... the struggle is real lol
So many golfers would majorly benifits from doing the plank on a regular basis to help strengthen their core muscles.... Such a simple thing to do and it has major benefits to the posture in the golf swing and would help them to maintain that neutral spin/pelvis position.
I appreciate the videos. I just started breaking 90. Normally with high 80s. I feel very far away from ever breaking 80.
Will changing the grip fix straight ball that's pulled left?
It can help Yes Pete.
Very interesting. Now I know that a high spin 7 iron has the distance of low spinning 9 iron shot down on the rough. I would have done the opposite, taking a longer club off the rough. Thank you.
In the matter of one day I broke 100 and 90 and shot ten over par at my local course and it felt amazing. I’ve come to see if I can break 80 next
subbed
Putting lets me down a lot, especially distance control.
Get a Taylormade Spider X.... I only say this because I'm back to golf after a 20 year break, just picked one up and my putting is on FIRE! Very consistent distance control
@@josholand Thanks for the tip - I've heard similar from a few people now, I think I'll take a look at them. Cheers.
@@JimboSRP Get any putter that gives you confidence ;) new stuff doesn't mean good stuff. I play an old Karsten Ping, and I have a great distance control with it because it suits me well, and It gives me confidence when I hit it. As simple as that.
@@duduOmag: I have a vintage Zing and Pal...both in mint condition. My NOS Zing still has a bright square on the sole where the original sticker protected it from patina. I prefer the Zing due to the heavy toe, and rear shaft ...but the Pal is pretty sweet also. I'm not as big of a fan of the Anser...they stand a little too upright for me. I find it hilarious that virtually every non-mallet putter made today is an almost exact replica of one of these three designs. Hell...Scotty Cameron's made MILLIONS off of Solheim's designs. The man was an absolute genius!!!
I have a handicap of 8.9 and I want to buy new clubs. What clubs do you recommend? I’ve been playing with Mizuno MS-3 😋
The lowest I'd hit was an 81.. I built a wedge matrix from 30yards to a full PW with my 52, 56, 60 degree and PW. Now for any distance between 30yrds and a full PW, I have 4 different shots with different lofts and roll outs to choose from, depending on what's needed. I Also got a putt out mat to drill my putts at home.. And now a lot more confident 6ft and in. ..........Shot a 77 (6+) Nett 63 off a 14Hcp last weekend.
Me and my golf I really struggle with my back swing I've been coming over the top on my down swing if you could make a video or recommend a video for me to watch on your channel that would be greatly appreciated
I've gotta break 100 first LOL great vid guys!!!
We do have a Break 100 Plan on our website. It's had amazing results if you want to check it out.
I’m just on the cusp of it. I’ve only done it once. I’ll get some birdies and pars some bogies in a round consistently but I always end up having 2 bad holes, a double or a triple. It’s so frustrating.
Man I want those Adidas shoes!! Thanks for the tips
What do you do when you find yourself on a very hard surface like maybe a walking path that the dirt is just completely solid? It messes with my head and I'm almost always high on the ball.
You get a free drop from a path
I’ve tried to change my grip several times, gave it a good go for about 2 months. My scores jumped by 10 strokes. Shanks and balls that started so far right off the tee it was embarrassing. I know a nuetral grip is better than a strong one, but I just can never make it happen.
The problem I have with breaking 80 is inconsistant distance and direction of the ball. I hit the ball and guess where and how far it will go. Please do a video on these two issues. Thank you.
This year I’m really trying to focus on balance. I finally almost beat my dad the other day shooting an 83. My shots are much more consistent
Bring back challenge Tuesday!
#piersisavirgin
David Davids your mum says different
Matty bit suspect how u know the ins and outs of piers' sex life..
What stops me from Breaking 80 is that i am still and junior and i do NOT hit the Ball very far. That means that i tend to have end hybrid or and long iron in to the pin, and I am just struggling on the long irons my shorter iron are perfect and I can control them how I want to. It’s just the longer irons can you please make a video about that. Thank you on the good video:) // 15 hcp junior
Far too many screen banners flashing up and the accompanying voosh sound is distracting.
Appreciate the feedback. Will certainly take that on board for next time.👍🏻
Agree absolutely. I actually stopped watching this one because it was driving me mad!
hmmm strangely that didn't bother me. And usually that kinna thing bothers me
@@nebulonv6015 Whether I was feeling hypersensitive I'm not sure, but I did find it distracting.
It’s all a bit Batman and robin, kapow! Zonk! Etc 😂
Loving the video - thought you were sponsored by Tailor-made not Nike with all that 'swooshing'...
I'm currently mid to high 80s at my local course and I'm just so inconsistent.
Broke 80 for the first time on July 8th, 2020 with a 77. (Farmington Hills Golf Club, 71.1/134. 6413 yards). I have the back 9 on my channel if you want to check it out. Ever since then I’ve done so 6 more times, 3 that same year and 3 this year already all in tournament play! . It’s a huge weight off your shoulders once you accomplish it.
Even after I hit a good drive and iron shot, I struggle with my short game, especially chipping, which is very frustrating.
You're lucky...poor chipping is a lot easier to fix than poor ball striking. Decide on a comfortable and repeatable technique that gives you good distance control and role out. Then practice until it's grooved!
I thought you were going to say ‘you need to be careful on grass as the chemicals in the spray could ruin the grass’..... but of course it was more about the damp grass cleaning some of the spray off 🤪😂
The high handicapper community approves this video! ;)
My poor approach shots and ball striking leave me relying on my short game to regularly shoot 80.
If you don’t want to buy those things you can just use an expo marker to see ball strike
Please please please try and get rid of the "wooshing" effects, it's so distracting. I really appreciate the hard work that goes in to complete these guides, it's a shame that an editing choice takes a bit of the quality away.
Thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate it. Will look at this moving forward.👍🏻
Meandmygolf it’s not distracting. The content is good & this made no difference.
What tips do you have to stop hitting the top of the ball with an iron.
I don’t have a slice but I push the over to the right
Currently off 9 handicap and struggle to commit to pitch shots.
steven ross exactly same, I’m off 9 too, keep chunking my pitches lately !
Been struggling to break 100 (accidentally clicked on this vid) and after shot gross 65 in the club champs (won by 7), Truly brilliant coaching 🙌🏼.
when i have a neural grip i feel like it is impossible to square the face
Arrant miss-hits going OB... I consistently lose 5-8 strokes a round due to OB balls. Especially off the tee box.
