    Just think of it if you said OK from this yardage I'll use a 60 and from this yarardage I'll use a 58. And from this real tight lie I might use a 56. It would be a ground Breaking moment on RUclips. You would have the 1st golf video in the history of RUclips to say what degree wedge they're hitting from and from what distance around the green. The reason why I say this cause you guys were undisputably the best golf teaching youtube channel.

    It's 6:00 a m on a December day as I watch the video. The season is over for 4 months. I'm reminded that every level of player has to do these basics to their ability. When you hit YOUR wall the tendency is to chase technology or latest guru. We'd all be better served to drilling the basics. Nicely presented 😊

    Thank you Piers & Andy, great video as always. Can you explain in more detail why spin matters and how it affects the ball flight? I think most amateurs just consider the effects of spin as purely how it lands on the green... including me! More color around that would make your demonstration from the rough/fairway even more useful! Thanks again, Sean

    Well, I can attest this program is beneficial. I finished week one a couple days ago and shot 82 mid-week and then 75 on Sunday! This is my lowest round ever. For me the videos and practice guides on posture and grip really helped! Thanks, guys, for your great work. I have been watching your videos for a long time and would offer the break 80 plan with progressive skills building is what I needed.

    Instead of tape or powder to mark the ball strike I sign my initials on the ball with a Sharpie as most golfers do ... making sure the letters are large enough (1"x1")... and face the letters towards the club face. This ink will transfer to the club face every time off the tee and will last even when dry for some time, and if you are playing lift & clean as many of us are forced to do early in the season, align the ball as you did on the tee with the same result. This works for me as I can easily check the ball position on the club face under playing conditions. The ink easily wipes off with a swipe of a finger. Of course this "playing" method does not work with the driving range "bucket" ... without doubt it's the tape or spray.

Have been recommending your videos to my different playing partners and they are starting to see some results as well.

    The tip on how to play out of the rough is brilliant and explains a few things. I always took an extra club or two from the rough thinking I’m not going to get as good a connection as normal and I always wondered why I’d go sailing over the back. I just kept thinking I’d thinned it. I’m trying this at the weekend. Thanks.

    My volleyball coach who was a sports psychologist talked about a reset “button” after mistakes that help you move on after it can simple as tapping your foot or touching the side of your head. Just another way to get past the bad shots

    Excellent video. Im a high 70s low 80s golfer already, been a while for the 70s, but ive been in a slump lately and been hooking a lot with my 4 iron and higher. Got that fixed with a couple of trips to the range so i figured id come here for some pointers to try and tweak a little more to get me back to playing my better golf. I already do a lot of these myself, but id always been taught to club up in the rough because it would slow your head speed down going through the rough and kill the distance, but the way you guys explained that and the visual aids for me helped a lot. Im never excited to be in the rough, but i will definitely be keeping this in mind the next time i am. Keep up the awesome videos.

    I'm a mid 80's golfer (79 lowest score) and struggle the most with approach shots 100+ out and putting.. but most of all its putting. I avg around 26 per round and would really like to get it under 22.. I do realize that I need to start leaving myself within 10ft for this to happen which brings me back to approach... the struggle is real lol

    Great video. This is the first time I see the instruction for hitting it out of the rough! I thought it very counter intuitive as usually I do the opposite and add more club instead and swing harder! Would love a video of those types of tricks in unusual situations. Thanks so much!

    These are some of my favorite videos to watch on RUclips great job Pearson and Andy. Although audio might need to improve in its consistency. Avoiding clipping, background noise, Ambien and electrical interference. lavalier microphone can be great for outdoor conditions. But incorporating a shotgun mic in some scenarios could be beneficial. Combining this with better mastering would definitely improve the videos. I know only 10% of yours would actually be able to identify the difference but definitely expect it to improve experiences for all. The last few years has shown massive improvement.

    @Meandmygolf I have a really solid question. I see this a lot in pros and in pierce. Right before my man Pierce hits the shot he always does a little bump squat to the left or to the right to get his body and arms in motion. Which way is he doing the little shimmy move before his shot? Would love a video on this or quick explanation. People don’t understand that this move really helps transition your body and arms in the right motion just before take away

    I would say take advantage of short/easy courses as training courses. Great opportunities for extra tee shots with irons or hybrids that you may never get to hit on full courses without "short changing" your driver opportunities. Lots of practice for using those seldom used clubs to set layups for preferred wedges and scoring irons. Doesn't hurt at all that the prices are usually very friendly and the pace is liberal as is the time commitment.

      @@duduOmag: I have a vintage Zing and Pal...both in mint condition. My NOS Zing still has a bright square on the sole where the original sticker protected it from patina. I prefer the Zing due to the heavy toe, and rear shaft ...but the Pal is pretty sweet also. I'm not as big of a fan of the Anser...they stand a little too upright for me. I find it hilarious that virtually every non-mallet putter made today is an almost exact replica of one of these three designs. Hell...Scotty Cameron's made MILLIONS off of Solheim's designs. Now for any distance between 30yrds and a full PW, I have 4 different shots with different lofts and roll outs to choose from, depending on what's needed. I Also got a putt out mat to drill my putts at home.. And now a lot more confident 6ft and in. ..........Shot a 77 (6+) Nett 63 off a 14Hcp last weekend.

    The problem I have with breaking 80 is inconsistant distance and direction of the ball. I hit the ball and guess where and how far it will go. Please do a video on these two issues. Thank you.

    The reason I ask this question is 15 chip or pitch videos in a row no one says what degree club they're using. This flop shot you could be using a 56, 58 60 62 or 64 degree wedge. Do you have to pay RUclips extra to say what degree club you're using?

    I’m just on the cusp of it. I’ve only done it once. I’ll get some birdies and pars some bogies in a round consistently but I always end up having 2 bad holes, a double or a triple. It’s so frustrating.

    • @Master...deBater
      @Master...deBater 5 лет назад

      You're lucky...poor chipping is a lot easier to fix than poor ball striking. Decide on a comfortable and repeatable technique that gives you good distance control and role out. Then practice until it's grooved!

    I’ve tried to change my grip several times, gave it a good go for about 2 months. My scores jumped by 10 strokes. Shanks and balls that started so far right off the tee it was embarrassing. I know a nuetral grip is better than a strong one, but I just can never make it happen.

    What stops me from Breaking 80 is that i am still and junior and i do NOT hit the Ball very far. That means that i tend to have end hybrid or and long iron in to the pin, and I am just struggling on the long irons my shorter iron are perfect and I can control them how I want to. It’s just the longer irons can you please make a video about that. Thank you on the good video:) // 15 hcp junior

    Preventing me from breaking 80 .... Driving and long iron consistency

  • @bryans.7220
    @bryans.7220 5 лет назад +5

    I believe that most rounds I dont break 80 is because of percieved time pressure and rushing shots. Trying to appease others and worrying about the pace of play issue. Apparently many of the "way to serious golfers" have their panties in a bunch, over how fast everyone else is playing.

    • @bjmcguir
      @bjmcguir 5 лет назад +1

      I have my panties in a bunch because people like you are taking 5 hours to play a round of golf. Take time over your shot by all means, within the rules, but get a move on between shots.

      Works the other way as well. Played a match against a guy this weekend and he literally “slow played” me to bear death. 4/5 practice swings, back and forth discussions w caddie on every shot, cleaning of clubs after each hit and on and on. I still beat him but crazy distracting.

    • @bryans.7220
      @bryans.7220 5 лет назад

      @@swisstrader That would bother me too. The extremes in either direction isn't considerate to others. There's a reason why you're allowed to play through. Not sure why that dosen't solve the problem.
