I was taught to move ball to the back for shorter clubs. You telling to keep ball exactly in same place with irons really make a lot of sense. Thanks a lot.
Your videos are just prime. They are clear, to the point, and helpful. In 8 months I went from a 14 handicap to a 6.7. Using your videos as my main source of coaching and with hours and hours of practice, I was able to get there. Thank you so much and keep it up!
Golf is hard but you guys have a way of simplifying it and allow us to get out of our head during play. Liked how you explained the science behind the shot which is great for the right visual and intent in the swing.
These guys are amazing! All of their videos are well thought out and extremely helpful no matter the golfer’s skill level. They create an amazing dynamic by having two instructors in videos. Most online instruction is individual without secondary input and can be bias to particular thought process of person in video (instructor). Easy to follow drills with great examples by two very good golfers. Their back and forth answers so many questions that I would normally have with other videos. Thanks to these gentlemen I am consistently breaking 80. Looking to get closer to scratch as we “Shelter In Place”. Please keep the videos coming fellas!
Great video guys, some great actionable tips and drills here for helping hit pure golf irons. There's nothing better in golf than puring an iron. And there's nothing worse than chunking, thinning or hitting one fat! Thanks for sharing with us. Cheers, Troy
Today I golfed for the first time, I’m 23 yrs old..my grandma always wanted me to learn the game and honestly I just thought it was pretty lame, I’ve been in and out of trouble with hanging out with the wrong people but I’m trying to change and trying to surround myself with better people so anyways a lot of my realer friends/down to earth friends told me to pick up golf and most them golfed since they were in diapers, I felt really discouraged today because I couldn’t keep with up them but I’m determined to get better and so far I’ve been watching your guys videos since I got home from the course and honestly you guys really tought me more than my 5 friends that were all trying to tell me do something at once. You guys did really teaching me a lot tonight and I really appreciate it.. give me 2 years tops and I’m gonna be just at good as my friends, just playing 1 day being crappy really made me love this game I so focused to get better and I’ll be at range everyday this summer to be better and using your guy’s tips and pointers as an advantage! My grandma was so happy that I bought some clubs and i just wanna get good for her and wanna be able to actually have a good competitive match again her
Hi Kordell. Thanks so much for the comment and really great to hear that our video are helping you. Golf is an amazing game and the people and friends you will meet will be amazing. It's certainly a great thing for you to focus on to bring some positivity in to your life. We love what we do so it means a lot for us to be able to help you and make an impact on your game! keep at it, keep learning and let us know how we can help! Thanks
OMG!!! Guys I play off +1 and struggled with consistency after breaking my neck. The 60/40 on the left leg has not only straightened every shot I've gained 5 yards. Thank you amazing work guys. Plus I met you at the masters final day 2018 watching tiger come up 13 dont know if you remember my face. I spoke how you helped my driving.
Brilliant instruction, gentlemen. The best to date. Intelligent, easy to follow and thorough. Lesson plans like this one certainly raise the bar on a number of levels. I plan on proceeding with the balance of the instruction plan. Cheers
ball in same position makes sense only if your irons are all the same length - I learned long ago to move the ball back with higher lofts, 5 iron in the middle 7 iron towards my right foot. Works for me, good luck with this new method.
Excellent video. In my younger days I swayed too much and still fight it a bit. But this video is a good reminder how to combat the problem. I'm glad you mention at setup you want to have 55 to 60% on your left side. I have to think 60% because when I don't.... I fall back into and even distribution or even a little more on my right side. And then I start hitting my irons too high as you discuss in another video. Anyway.....good job on the instructions and drills. You do a lot better job at it than some of the 'other' well known youtubers.
Brilliant, gentlemen. Altitude also effects club distance. I moved from Connecticut to Florida and lost a full club if not more plus bermuda grass is also a deterrent of distance.
Pure Genius as always fellas! My handicap has dropped significantly over the years thanks to both of you. Yet I still struggle with a bent left elbow through or immediately after contact. Some days I'm on fire with it and some days I'm cold as ice. It may be a genetic defect that I have to live with but if there were a drill to do to minimize it and its effects on my swing I'd be grateful. Now a happy 3 Handicap ...thanks guys.
Thanks! Remember that you have to understand what this causes to the ball flight. If it's not effecting the shot then don't change it because it looks strange. Look at Lee Westwood at impact.
On certain days it causes me to release early and flip the club a bit. Other days it doesn't really seem to effect me much. I'm not afraid to compete with it...it just always leaves me wondering if there is something I could be doing better.
I watched this today on my laptop for the second time and learned so much. First time was on my mobile phone. I also learned today that these are 2 separate people and not some CGI magic.
All your videos are great, this was one of my favorites. I immediately went out and tried the towel drill in my garage and it was amazing. One of the better drills I have ever used. If you have a similar drill with the Driver I would love to see it. THANKS!
i just discovered your channel and facebook page and i must thank you for 2 'simple' tips that have me wanting to golf again. i used to play to a 1.6 but have struggled getting my game back. the first tip that helped was ball position. i was way too far back in my stance with all my clubs and wondered why i could not make consistent contact with the ball. the second tip was about the grip. i was a bit too strong because i fear the dreaded slice... for the first time in over a decade, i simplified my swing and was making solid contact (past the ball... ) and finding the sweet spot with every iron and the woods i carry (only a driver and 3w usually as i love my 3 iron :D ) i was landing my PW consistently over 135 with range balls and finally hitting them straight again... i can't wait to hit a course and play again... your tip on driver setup was amazing and has made me love my driver again, which i have not hit well since i was breaking wooden heads as a young man... i feel i can take aggressive swings at the ball again, which i know will help my overall game! thank you both for these lessons!! i was ready to give up golf before i found these videos...
Just came back from a round, changed my ball positioning to be consistent distance off the front foot (previously i just had it centred), and used 60/40 weight position. HUGE difference just in one round! Cheers lads!
Oh man... Thank you for the easy ball posituon tip. I thought i was not turning my hops enough o. The back swing so i did the alignment stick drill. Turns out i was turning my hips enough already. Now i can focus on getting a good low point. Thank you. You are my #1 source for improving my game.
QUALITY content right here. I've been trying to shift my low point forward for a year, with this video I'll take a new approach and get to work! Thanks!
I am brand new to playing Golf outside of playing mini golf. I had a friend invite me to go play 9 holes and am looking forward to it. I have been watching a good bit of your videos and I hope it helps me out when I go out for my first time.
Very good video. All of the great players mainly played one shape of shot. Fade - Hogan, Nicklaus, Trevino, Rahm, Koepka, and others; Draw - Jones, Player, Watson, Woods, McIlroy and others. Choose either a fade or a draw as your main shape. Never try to hit the ball dead straight. I mainly hit a draw with my driver for distance, and a fade with my irons and 3-wood for control, height, and stopping power. I shot a 60 on a very tough course that way. It works. Of course, putting is the most important part of the game. Learn how to read greens and how to putt, and practice your putting the most.
I'm consistently bad with the irons. I usually put the ball in the middle of my stance and I can never hit the ball solid. I'll either top the ball or I'll divot behind it. I'll give these drills a shot and I'm definitely looking forward to this Iron series. Thanks Guys!
I was struggling with this as well. I found it was because my weight was mostly on my rear foot at address and stayed that way throughout my swing. I change to having my weight mostly on my front foot and a little on the inside of my rear foot and I was hitting solid shots with a divot after the ball immediately.
This is a very similar comment to many below, you guys are great! Thank you for the simple instruction and explanations to all your videos, you help make sense to the average golfers out there.
Gents, this really was a fantastic video. Very impressive how you can keep on churning out fresh and informative content on a weekly basis. Would love to see some more course vlogs from you both 👍
Very interesting about the 60/40 in stance I never knew this and was always 50/50 and the ball being around a clubs head length away from left foot, always played the ball in the middle of my stance. Shall give this a go at the range on the weekend.
I played about 3-4 rounds of golf/yr. always poorly, but some glimmers of hope (rarely). took this video lesson about 12 days ago, and went to the range and practiced what was taught. Started feeling it so I played 9 holes (cannot hold up for 18, games just falls apart after so many holes). On the 3rd hole, a par 3, set the ball on the tee just like they showed, prepared myself according to how they presented, hands, forewarms, feet, weight, then with my 7 iron I drove the ball. It landed about 5' in front and 4' right of the pin, which was at the bottom of a sloping green. It rolled up, then gradually curved to the left, hesitated and then began a low curving path back toward the pin, then disappeared out of sight, a hole in one. I know this is just freak luck, but that I was doing all the "right things" according to the video may have pushed this improbability more to my favor. Needless to say, back to the practice range, watching more of their videos, and feeling thanks for a thrill I really didn't deserve.
I've been struggling with my irons for the past few years because I flip. My 6 iron goes 50 yards at best! 😕 I've been watching video after video and I just can't seem to get it. I appreciate all the instructions you provide. Had I known you were in Florida, I would have flown down there and BEGGED for help!
Great video, I have seen these same ideas on you earlier videos and those has help me to improve my golf swing. At the moment my biggest problem is that I hit sockets on chips, pitching and half swing. On full swing I newer hit A socket. It is even worse problem when I try to use slower swing Speed.
On my 4th round of golf now, my most consistent error is hitting the ground first....t This video has given me some great things to work on! Thanks for the info!!
always had a issue with weight transfer and overthinking my swing, but these tips just seem to make sense! have already seen a difference in ball striking.
These guys are great! I’ve have been on a hiatus the past year due to having my right foot rebuilt. I decided to start over with my techniques and these guys just make it make sense!
Before watching this video my irons were very unpredictable, I didn't know to put the ball slightly forward in my stance, and that I need to keep my lead arm straight during the back swing. I played yesterday and incorporated these tips, I've never hit my irons so good. I was crushing my 4 iron nice and straight, I still need to work on my 8, 9, and PW but I'm so happy with the results I got out of this. Now my biggest issue is just my driver.
Hi, could you do a video on driving range drill specifically? Because I think a lot of people use driving range (especially beginners) to practice their swings before going to the course. Just a suggestion. Looking forward to your next video.
Meandmygolf - With all the amazing hints tips and general advise that you provide within your channel. Have you ever thought about meeting your followers and filming a one 2 one show, showing the audience a before & After result?
Oh my goodness!!! for the past year, I have practiced that weight distribution concept, combining forward shaft lean for a better feel drill at impact. thank you for posting this!! great great content!!
What a fantastic video, great work team. Have just come back to golf after a few years and had no idea where to start again, then this video popped up today. Quality content, thank you.
I love the part about drawing the chalk line on grass.. is there a way to do this on mats? There are so many golfers who don’t have access to a grass range.
theyou gave for ball position is great! I just had a lesson and was taught that exact same ball position strategy and it is working wonders for my game. Great video!
In his books and teachings Bobby Clampett suggests aiming not at the ball but at that low point 6in after it. Takes an effort of will to ignore the ball but after a while it becomes natural.
I believe when you talk about making solid contact on the down swing then explaining the low point on the follow through, Will be a saving grace for people out here. Many golfers are not aware of such information till hopefully now.
Thanks Kevin! Did you know we have another 3 videos that follow this as part of our ‘Ultimate Iron’ coaching plan? Here’s the link if it’s something that will interest you👍meandmygolf.com/product/ultimate-irons/
Wow this makes complete sense why I've struggled with consistency round to round. The club-head check, for footing space, is genius. Thanks for the vid guys!!
I think the ball position shown for 7 iron of quite left of center; at least from I learned and what I hit. I hit my driver very well from half a clubhead inside my left heel. Earlier it used to be almost on my toe and it wasn't nice.
Guys, Sorry for the late response on this video. I've been working on moving the lead hip toward the target on the backswing. I've had great success hitting my irons. Hitting a nice little push draw. Thank you so much!!!!
I’ve noticed something interesting in all your videos for irons...your backswing is about half as far back as mine usually is. I try not to over-swing but it is so difficult to break the habit. I’ve seen iron demonstrations where the shaft is parallel at the top of the backswing, but yours are never parallel. They are at best at a 45 degree angle to the ground at the top of your backswing. So, I’ve recently started trying to limit my backswing so it “feels” like the shaft is more vertical at the top of my backswing. It feels very very weird and very very short...but has resulted in much better consistency and contact with pretty much no distance lost.
As per the below comment, excellent video guys. Would like to get your tips on people like me with a chicken wing finish and perhaps some info on release or hand rotation. I've spent watching videos for hours on this but still struggle with impact and how the arms should be positioned ie dead straight on impact?
i use to be scratch golfer i done had 4 back surgerys an heart surgery so i still love the game but i trying to learn a swing keep from hurting myself i been doing great but lots of bad shots i did shoot some par rounds i got fired up there a feeling cant exsplain that feeling me getting back to this..but im playing from the white i tried the blue an i have to swing to hard play that far back
Hi guys! Thanks for a great and very helpful video. I have a question: what's the best way to measure yardage without going to one of the places with trackman or other devices. I was advised to buy a range finder but again not sure what's the best one (as some are very expensive and I really don't know the difference between the one for $100 and $350). Thanks in advance!
Simple question, when you have discovered the low point in your swing,do you alter your setup, legs etc.or the golf ball position, and how does this effect the different length clubs, just started so forgive my numptiness.
I was taught to move ball to the back for shorter clubs. You telling to keep ball exactly in same place with irons really make a lot of sense. Thanks a lot.

Insane improvement man, well done
I have watched HUNDREDS of hours of golf instruction and this is by far THE BEST EVER!!! thanks guys!!!
That's great! Happy you liked it.
I agree this is what people want to watch. Great graphics also help understand about contact mechanics etc. great vid

Brilliant lesson guys. Tried the hip rotation drill at the range and got more consistent striking and better distance. Thanks!
Ball positioning was a real "?" that has just been answered. Thanks.

tried the 60/40 weight on the legs and ball set up - worked a treat today. Thanx
Best video on striking irons that I’ve seen. The effects will surely help new golfers understand what needs to happen.
Thanks Matt. Such important content in here for irons. Hope it helps.
Excellent video. One of the best I’ve seen for iron play.
Love to hear it! Thanks so much Mick!! 👌
The best online instruction i've seen. Fantastic work guys, keep it up. A big thanks.
Your channel has helped me immensely. Much appreciated!
Nice. Not any people know to keep more pressure on the front foot. I made this change and wow!
This is a very similar comment to many below, you guys are great! Thank you for the simple instruction and explanations to all your videos, you help make sense to the average golfers out there.
This video is bang on for my current issues. Cheers
Gents, this really was a fantastic video. Very impressive how you can keep on churning out fresh and informative content on a weekly basis. Would love to see some more course vlogs from you both 👍
Glad you liked it. There is so much in this plan to help with irons. The on course stuff is great too.
I absolutely love these videos. Thank you so much.

This is my biggest issue from coming back to golf after 20 years out. Swaying and low point, so this is a perfect video for me thanks .
That's great. Happy to hear this helped
I wished I watched this before I played a round today..But better late then never..New fan as of.......NOW!!!!
Perfectly hit 9/10 balls straight after this demo. Awesome tips!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH , PLAYING OFF LOW HANDICAP, BUT GOING BACK TO BASICS!! SUCH A GREAT EXPLAINING VIDEO!!
THANKS BOYS FOR HELPING!!
This is so professional well explained keep up the great videos!
Thank you for making this video. I am new to golf, I’m glad I saw this video cheers 🥃.
I've been struggling with my irons for the past few years because I flip. My 6 iron goes 50 yards at best! 😕
I've been watching video after video and I just can't seem to get it.

This video has given me some great things to work on! Thanks for the info!!
Best video yet , look forward to the next time
always had a issue with weight transfer and overthinking my swing, but these tips just seem to make sense! have already seen a difference in ball striking.
One of the best about the subject. Congratulations!
These guys are great! I’ve have been on a hiatus the past year due to having my right foot rebuilt. I decided to start over with my techniques and these guys just make it make sense!
Hii, Good idea w/ the stans - move the right foot for every iron club you use or wedge... left handed, it be the Left Foot to move... ;)
I am starting to teach my daughter golf and I love these videos!
This video helped a lot, hitting my irons much more consistently
Before watching this video my irons were very unpredictable, I didn't know to put the ball slightly forward in my stance, and that I need to keep my lead arm straight during the back swing. Excellent, I really liked this one. Well done lads and top production as always
Thanks Aaron. Glad you enjoyed it. We put some time in to creating this plan and it has so much greta content for the range and course.
Fantastic video this coaching series is just what I need . Thanks guys great tips
Fantastic video! Probably the best iron instruction video I have seen on RUclips. Great tips, production and editing.
Thanks. Happy to hear it was useful.
Thank you! Thank you!!
Great video played this AM and broke 80. Thanks guys.
I am playing tomorrow, I will try it & report back!
Excellent lesson and tips to hit the irons

Really appreciate these videos, you guys are the best
In par 3's I tend to hook the ball maybe because of excess of hands rotation or somewhat.
Another great video , and the quality keeps improving
Thanks Davey. Glad you enjoyed it.

Great video guys! Something so simple is so easily forgotten. Thank you!
You guys are brilliant
Oh my goodness!!! for the past year, I have practiced that weight distribution concept, combining forward shaft lean for a better feel drill at impact. thank you for posting this!! great great content!!
Great. Happy to help.
Great video guys. I still use your other iron video as reference.
What a fantastic video, great work team. Have just come back to golf after a few years and had no idea where to start again, then this video popped up today.
Quality content, thank you.
Hope this helps Keenan. Glad you enjoyed it
I love the part about drawing the chalk line on grass.. is there a way to do this on mats? There are so many golfers who don’t have access to a grass range.
Absolutely epic video! Struggling with my irons and love the practical elements I can put into place!
You guys are legends. Love all the vids. Keep up the quality work lads
Thanks Bryce. Happy to help.
theyou gave for ball position is great! I just had a lesson and was taught that exact same ball position strategy and it is working wonders for my game. Great video!
Great James. Happy to hear this made sense
In his books and teachings Bobby Clampett suggests aiming not at the ball but at that low point 6in after it. Takes an effort of will to ignore the ball but after a while it becomes natural.
Great drills that I am looking forward to trying on the driving range.
Best vid so far in my opinion . Thank you for the help.
Thanks Christian. We have packed so much in to this plan. Some real "gold" as you work through it.
I believe when you talk about making solid contact on the down swing then explaining the low point on the follow through, Will be a saving grace for people out here. Many golfers are not aware of such information till hopefully now.
Great video and beautiful course!
Happy to help!!
Some days I get static with my weight and struggle moving toward the target on my downswing. Start topping shots.
Great advice!!! I just started and your tips and hints are amazing 🤩 thank you
I think the ball position shown for 7 iron of quite left of center; at least from I learned and what I hit.
Excellent. Huge help.
Wicked video! Iron play is crucial, especially for us amateur golfers!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome Video. Keep them coming
Brilliant tip! One question - for the weight distribution, do you keep 60% weight on your left leg through the entire swing?
Wish i could spend about a week with guys!!!
Thank you!
As per the below comment, excellent video guys. Would like to get your tips on people like me with a chicken wing finish and perhaps some info on release or hand rotation. I've spent watching videos for hours on this but still struggle with impact and how the arms should be positioned ie dead straight on impact?
i use to be scratch golfer i done had 4 back surgerys an heart surgery so i still love the game but i trying to learn a swing keep from hurting myself i been doing great but lots of bad shots i did shoot some par rounds i got fired up there a feeling cant exsplain that feeling me getting back to this..but im playing from the white i tried the blue an i have to swing to hard play that far back
Sensationally comprehensive explanation as usual guys 👍👍👌👌
Thanks Andrew!
Great fundamentals...loved comment on teeing grounds
Thanks Larry. Hope this was useful.
I have a question about my 3wood setup. Does it differ if I hit it from the tee box vs. hitting from the fairway?

Where would the ball be for a six hybrid? Is it the same as irons?
Thanks for the videos, they have helped me a ton.
Same as irons Al yes
Simple question, when you have discovered the low point in your swing,do you alter your setup, legs etc.or the golf ball position, and how does this effect the different length clubs, just started so forgive my numptiness.
