Revisting the BRK Ghost 30 caliber

This rifle and i have a love-hate relationship. At first, i hated it, I could not get the precision I was after. Then i polished the barrel and recrowned the barrel. Shoot pellets at higher than normal, and that's where the magic happened 😁

Awesome to see it come around for you. I was kind of sad when I learned it wasn’t working like you had hoped. A pellet would be a pellet out of nearly any gun. Meaning speed “seems” like it would always be the same for accuracy. BRK, FX, DayState, Benjamin, BSA…… you’d think the accuracy would be at the same speed. Physics is a strange world lol.

I never knew a ground squirrel and a grey squirrel were 2 different things. I had a Poly barrel that drove me nuts, my friend's ghost pretty much drives him nuts too. I am not a poly barrel fan for air guns. They don't podium and that should say it all. Ya the 50 yard record but not convincing enough when you add up all the titles. Also, my experience does not extend past .22 cal but I put a lot of time and effort into mine, got a heli board and programed my balls off looking for the holy grail. I was convinced the barrel was bad just like you say, put a new barrel in it and sold it without ever shooting it to find out since I was so disgusted by the end almost 3 years. They really put a major crimp profile in the projectiles which is counter intuitive considering it's marketed as more of a smooth bore. I really think it has an almost propeller like friction in wind, on calm days it was a Lazer, but the groups POI would change daily or hourly, if the wind changed so did the groups, and not in a way that made sense. I was also convinced my scope had parallax which would make sense for the constantly shifting groups, sent it out and they said it was fine, which it was. Don't miss it for a second. That was my time with the Day state Redwolf HP.

Why wouldn't it work. 22's shooting JSB are run at 920 + speed for long time with great result the 30 shouldnt be any different especially with the same type of projectile. it just requires a solid platform with a solid barrel with the proper twist rate.
