    I just bought the Ghost HP. Would it be possible for you to make a tutorial video on how to polish the barrel? Such as what tools we need, and the procedure...Thank you so much!

      Let me have a look at doing that, I will have to bring in an expert to assist. There are a couple of ways to do it, let me do some research and see if I can build something worthwile. Great idea. Tx.

    Good work im currently switching from pellets to slugs in my wildcat mk3 sniper in 25 cal so far trying nelsons 26 & 29 slugs both shoot best around 965 fps.

    Great vid thanks. Wish you showed us a pellet pushed through the barrel after the polish would have been great to see the difference.

      The pellet after the barrel polish was almost unblemished, just a small ring around the skirt, head wad perfect.

    I was pretty impressed with the amount of squishing the ploy shape does to a pellet or slug, what you came out with was the same thing that I have seen so you aren't alone. it's not exactly an intuitive outcome. So now that you see just how pronounced the pattern is, it becomes quite evident as to why things get a little crazy, especially with lighter stuff, 18 to 23 grains, when you aren't shooting in a controlled environment. The marks left on a projectile from the barrels lands or grooves cause a lot of friction while spinning and the higher the velocity obviously the more the projectiles path will be influenced due to the higher spin rate. So you will find that slowing things down, will greatly improve your accuracy in wind. This is quite repeatable for me, and I have sort of figured out what velocities I can use for what weights I shoot in my 1/16 twist superior heavy. Since you are 1/17.7, this means you will get a slightly more tolerant top speed before they go haywire and can probably shoot 18 grain better than I will be able to. I have to shoot the 18's with this 1/16 twist in the low 800's so I just don't bother with them with this liner, I am 21 grain and up. But again, I resize everything to .216 or as close to it as I can, even the redesigns I will send through the sizer, which is only making all the skirts uniform because the head size on the redesign is pretty dead on at .215 or slightly under. So if that tells you anything, because they are accurate as hell, I also believe that is why they are less speed fussy. Glad things are looking up ,and if I had one complaint on the Ghost it would be the trigger too. But, it's a safe hunting trigger and not bad enough to be upset about I guess, before adjustment it was long and heavy the whole way.

      I was also curious what your reg pressure was set at, 25.4 grain @ 950 is 50 fpe, it's a 65 fpe gun if you want it to be. sounds like 135 bar about? We got a lot better results at 155 bar, 5 fpe doesn't sound like a lot but it seemed to love 55 fpe tune for 25-27 grain slugs. It's easy with that gun to mess with because the tank has a valve in it you can just unscrew it and go back to wherever, just clear the plenum with a dry fire after you unscrew the tank. Basically FX style bottles, no need to drain anything. @@AimSmall

      @@ravenshield7823 Reg at 145 bar out the box. Really need to crank it open to get to the 65 fpe the manufacturer states, but even at 145 bar the air consumption isn't as good as I expect from a Daystate/BRK. My Pulsar sips air with a smaller tank I get 110+ shots on a fill... Spoiled by good air consumption with previous Daystate guns. lol.

    • @ravenshield7823
      @ravenshield7823 Год назад

      I hear that, even a 580 bottle isn't much improvement. I get about 30 shots out of my crown at 50 fpe with a 480. If it wasn't for my compressor and 6.8Liter tank, that was ridiculously expensive, I'd never shoot. That fill tank is actually the best thing I've got for this hobby. Those FX style bottles are more expensive too, kind of make upgrading the volume a little less attractive. I don't think at 155 you will lose any shot count unless you shoot over the velocities you are currently shooting since it use less air per shot at a higher pressure, it's what you want for slugs, and you might gain shot count at lower power setting since it will decrease your low power velocities, which might be helpful for 18 grain stuff. worth a try. we started at 135 and worked out way up to 160 and then backed off to 155 since there was plenty of power and adjustment with the wheel.@@AimSmall

    Is this gun more of a Brocock design and or is it very much more a Daystate? If I am correct Daystate bought or took over Brocock. To me it does not look like a Brocock and screams Daystate.

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  Год назад

      Build in the UK... thus leaning more towards Daystate influence, although Daystate these days are focussing more on the electronic guns than mechanical guns. Either way the build quality is very good.

      they are pretty much the same guns same with the xr range and wolverine etc. reg transfer port restrictors, barrels all keeping up with the daystate newer tech as well. same lw barrels and polygon barrels in hp

      @@fatherdaughterandsonfishing thank you for the reply. No gun is perfect, but I do think this is a massive step in the right direction for BRK/Daystate. Just need a slug barrel in 700mm then this setup is going to rock the boat. Had some awesome fun shooting JSB 18gr at 1032fps at 110yards... I couldn't believe my eyes. WIll have to go back and make a video about it.

      He is a tough business man, I was incontact with ZAN directly and they were going to send me some stuff, I need to assume there will be a settlement between importer and manufacturer. Dunno if this will happen or not. I was lucky to get some stuff, profit margins are slim and the market very competitive. Plus I will be doing some awareness/marketing for the shop.

      Indeed, I always do a 33y test first, if the gun doesn't group there is is useless to me, when I go and do pest control I mostly shoot pellets between 22y and 55 yards, very seldom will I venture pellets further. The moment I find something working in the gun I will try and replicate it at longer distances.
