GN-z11 Walt Disney had nothing to do with the Disney's choice to buy Lucasfilm, because he was dead long before that, so unless you hate him for another reason, there isn't a reason for you to hate him.
@Alan Yablonski Well, the Big Bang is said to happen 13.000.000.000 BBY. We think it happened about 13.7 billion years ago, that means Star Wars takes place (13.7 - 13) billion years ago.
@@СозданиеБезымянное to be fair Star Wars timelines converge at 0 BBY which is a new hope It's always interesting how that the first one even knowing why
Load of BS, everything in nature points to a supremely thoughtful & masterful designer. But we'd prefer to believe we descended from animals, have virtually zero purpose for existing & that somehow our galaxy & everything in it came about by some cosmic miracle? Would be easier to believe Star Wars was non-fiction.
This is why i love Star Wars. So deep, so many individuals that worked, dreamt, created and expanded an universe together. This is an heritage that the Disney deal can't erase.
Only Star Wars Here there is always a Dark Side which is explain you the light is lie every time light get power darkness overthrow him this circle gum completing again and again and again so at the last no 30 year passed no 30 year from future this is story as always on earth time is just like a bookmark in our history
+The Stupendous Wave Watching all these made me realize how insignificant Anakin Skywalker was even though even in the Legends canon, he WAS the Chosen One. Him bringing balance to the force was ultimately/mostly thwarted by a Tusken-adopted human who was 100+ years old ( he was the only Sith who was really a threat after the Empire). I mean what the actual goddamn fuck?! Darth Krayt was just their failed attempt of trying to tie in the entire canon no matter what.
Canon doesn't really pick up until around 100 BBY. But that's to be expected since canon has only existed for less than 5 years and legends has existed for about 30. Right now legends is better than canon but that's probably just because it's had more time to develop. It'll be interesting to see what canon looks like in a few decades.
+Pewpewboomshot that would make sense if only the post Return of the Jedi stuff was retconed. Why cant the Force Wars be canon? Or any of the Old Republic timeline? That stuff that happens way before the prequels doesn't affect Disneys ability to make sequels with new stories.
I can just picture someone saying hmm I wonder if there is any back story to star wars oh look heres a video there probably isn't much *taps vid 13 billion years ago the galaxy was formed Oh umm ok....
James Miller I thought the same thing! I had never watched this channel. Didn’t even know it existed for over a year, but that will change. It will become “click bait” for me now. I think everyone who knew about it should have brought it to my attention......(I’ll get over that now😅)

TFA is the root of the problem. Redoing Rebels vs Empire and returning to the status quo doesn't make any sense, doesn't continue the saga in any meaningful way and effectively crippled the trilogy. The Vong War and the One Sith actually made for new interesting story arcs.
@@That_Guy00 That’s true, so weird that they were so proud of the same concept George Lucas used back in the 70’s, and they use it now like we haven’t had enough stories of resilient rebels standing against an almighty force of evil. Thing is, I feel like if that could’ve worked. Force Awakens is practically just A New Hope, but if they we’re going to use this familiar structure as a way to tell a new story, it could’ve worked. Or better yet, though the Yuzhon-Vong War isn’t my favorite storyline, FA building up to our heroes discovering a threat much like the Yuzhon-Vong would’ve truly been a site to see. Imagine leaving the theater after seeing that!
The Jedi keep dying out and the Sith keep coming back for short periods of time where they fail to control the galaxy. Basically, Force-users keep screwing up.
It's more than that really, the Jedi and Sith orders are both smaller parts of the same 'lineage' of Force-Using traditions. They are Thesis and Antithesis to each other... the history after the formation and fall of the ancient Je'daii can be considered a metaphorical (and violent) dialogue between the two repeatedly failing to achieve Synthesis or a re-forming of the Je'daii as a whole.
Pretty much. Stories were being written at several points throughout the timeline at the time that legends was cancelled, but that's as far forward as the story went.
@@jamesh7540 the old canon has the force as a balencing force, the jedi are the light and the sith the darkness. the force wants this to be equal between the two, so if there are jedi but no sith suddenly sith start popping up. if you want a good idea on this look at the philsohsy of darth traya.

+Star Wars Minute this video is like 20 episodes in 1 good job man
Thank you so much, this is simply amazing!!! I can't really say nice job, this is too good for that kind of compliment. Once again, thank you. I think this video proves that every Star Wars fan should be subscribed to you. Happy May the 4th, and may the force be with you too.
“Every one of these movies is a particularly hard nut to crack. There’s no source material. We don’t have comic books. We don’t have 800-page novels. We don’t have anything other than passionate storytellers who get together and talk about what the next iteration might be.” -Kathleen Kennedy
@DejaVoodooDoll Hey, I can post random quotes too. "After Star Wars was released, it became apparent that my story--however many films it took to tell--was only one of thousands that could be told about the characters who inhabit its galaxy. But these were nto stories that I was destined to tell. Instead they would spring from the imagination of other writers, inspired by the glimpse of a galaxy that Star Wars provided. Today it is an amazing, if unexpected, legacy of Star Wars that so many gifted writers are contributing new stories to the Saga." - George Lucas in foreward to 1995's release of "Splinter of the Mind's Eye". What was your point?
@DejaVoodooDoll Lol, wut? I did not spin any quote. I just pasted it, just like you did. And asked what was your point, because I genuenly don't know what were you trying to achieve. But since we are at it, you really need considerable imagination to twist "it is not my universe, but I try to keep it coherent with mine" into "it's not my movie, so it's not canon", especialy when Lucas called it all one "saga"
@DejaVoodooDoll If Lucas was insistant that Luke should be a hermit, then why didn't you post a quote, where Lucas says so? He did not like Mara, but he allowed her to exist nontheless, despite banning many other Thrawn Trillogy concepts, like origins if Vader's mask, or Obi-Wan's clone. But you did not post quotes that could support that either. LucasFilm only tried to keep to 2014's Canon when creating the sequels, true. But "trying to be original, despite having ready material" is not the same as "ignoring that there is material". My bad, the quotes, are actually relevant, especialy the second one. It proves that Lucas cared about SW as a whole and even if an SW work wasn't his, he tried to keep SW coherent. Which calls Kennedy out on her bullshit, when she says that there is no material
basically sith and jedi where one order in the beginning researching the force, one day a few of them discovered the dark side and then "the dark side is better then the light side", "no the light side is better then the dark side" and so on. And that is the real reason for the war betwen jedi and sith.
In all honesty, I just view Legends and Disney Canon as two different timelines. Two different ways each story played out, with the stuff Disney allowed to be Canon, like the movies, being the only car instant. Even then, the events that lead up to these events are different as well. Two different equally real realities. This is just my head cannon, so anyone else can think differently.
Legends: The Sith are a species that are connected to the dark side and knowing this the jedi genocide them, leaving feew left and causing a Galactic rivalry. Canon: Oh uhh some guy was a jedi but then he didn't like being good so he became bad and so some of his followers join him.
Model RK800 They actually were, Tcw season 6 just squeezed into legends I believe(maybe not episodes like sacrifice where Disney renamed Korriban to Moraband.)
Legends is so freaking awesome compared to the stuff Disney puts out. Like seriously the overall Legends story as shown in this video is pure epic. It actually makes sense considering what happened in the Star Wars movies, and it makes me really sad knowing that this stuff isn’t canon anymore
I'm at least happy they can't touch it. NO ONE at Lucasfilm could do it justice. No, not Dave Filoni, not Jon Favreau, _NO ONE._ That said, Legends could still thrive, if it was allowed to be continued by outside entities, like Hasbro, Marvel, Del Rey, and yet they won't do that, lol. What a creatively bankrupt company.
@@saberiandream316 legends is so awesome but in the Disneyverse they steal the chosen one title from Anakin skywalker and Rey is the one to permanently end the Sith. You made a good point, Disney can’t screw up legends,
Well most of it could still be canon in the Disney stuff. For example the Final Order squads were named after old Sith, making me believe it is canon. And even if it wasn’t, it is to me. All of it has happened no matter what Disney says and screw those sequels
I hope Star Wars legends is never forgotten. It seems that Star Wars is going to live for a long time, and the chances of a legends movie become lower and lower.
+Elias Sen Doudouh keep in mind Pablo Hidalgo, Dave Filoni and a lot of writers get to decide what they put in their stories. Disney can stop them from doing something dumb like claiming Chewbacca just had a speech impediment but they're already bringing back a lot of old star wars material.
I must have missed it. Did you not mention Darth Plagueis, the Wise? 13:16 Bane 13:45 Ruusan Reformation Sith secretly amass 14:15 Sidious (32 BBY) Clone Wars (22 BBY) RotS (19 BBY)
hey there SWE theres a couple things i would like to offer corrections for: -Bane took the title Darth *before* killing the dark brotherhood, not after or because of the accomplishment -Palpatine did *not* initially comission the clone army. Syfo Dias did. Then told Hego Damask (Plagueiss) of his intentions.. then 10 yrs later Sidious sent Dooku to assasinate Dias and assume funding to the Kaminoans and have them install the order 66 chip
Ryan Davidson "it's all a wheel going round and round. It's a beautiful dream, stopping the wheel. You are not the first to try." "I don't wish to stop the wheel, I will break it."

This is random and its odd to bring in but whatever What disney should have done is similar to what netherelm studios did with the mortal kombat series Take content trim the exes fat chamge a bit so the most of it made sense and make that content mainstream while still paying respect to the orgin of your new stuff
I wouldn't necessarily say the prequels ruined the OT or vice-versa. But Ep3 did twist itself in temporal knots and it seems the best parts of 2 and 3 ended up on the cutting room floor.

Quantum-Kakarotto Read your post over again. "Luke was never given a death", "we know he's dead in Cade's timeline". We don't know HOW he died, but we know he died.
Well, I figured since they are in a separate galaxy from us that they would be considered aliens to humans like us. Granted humans only exist on Earth. They can be humans if in George Lucas' world the Human species can exist on more than one galaxy and way before the humans of Earth existed.
Well, you could also think of it as, since this was a galaxy far far away, and it took place a long time ago, maybe they managed to create tech that allowed them to come to our galaxy, where they found earth and settled there, thus creating the first humans on Earth. Maybe they had crash landed, too, and lost their tech, or were abandoned by their captain or whatever, thus forcing them to become primitive.
It might just be because im more of a sci-fi person, but I don't like how magical and fantastical this is. Everything has to do with the force and everybodys some overpowered god
It is so frustrating growing up inspired by such a unique and vast lore and then have a corporation come and say that none of it is true anymore and rewrite everything you grew up with.

I would love to see the "insanely long" video explaining EVERYTHING in the Legends galactic history. I would really like watching that! Even if it was a couple hours long. I think you should make a video like that for people like me who appreciate stuff like that and like watching long videos about the history of certain things. :) This video was great tho, covered pretty much all the important major things in a nice descriptive way that was quick for people who like the shorter videos. If possible, I really would like to see the long video of everything in the history of the galaxy....
Kinda played with with Cade Skywalker, he just wants to be a pirate and do drugs, but destiny keeps dragging him into galactic affairs against his will.
Remember when this was canon and George Lucas was still in charge of star wars? Good times. Legends was a better sequel to the original trilogy than the Disney movies were, and legends wasn't even a movie!
Luke Skillings it was never canon legends was a alternative universe that gorge Lucas created to let writers do whatever they wanted but it was the writers choice to tie it in with the movies at every turn and with no Star Wars movie in sigh gorge used legends as well to try and be as creative as he could after all the hate
18:11 I remember on HLN that when the Force Awakens characters were being announced, they used this image to represent the characteristics that described Rey. My God were they off by a lightyear! Rey is nothing compared to Jaina Solo. They also used EU images to describe Finn, Po Dameran, Kylo Ren, and others. All their EU counterparts were better than them.
1977: George Lucas makes Star Wars. Fans: Dang this is pretty awesome we could make a bunch of lore and stuff from this. *Spend next 40 years intensely working and creating thousands of characters and stories to create best possible expanded universe* 2014: Disney - Oh ya by the way none of that matters anymore. *now we have full control* Note: I kind of get why Disney got rid of the EU, I mean the kind of had to in order to leave space to make new movies, but seriously it’s a disappointment that all the work authors and creators put into the EU is disregarded and labeled as kind of “fake.” And sorry this is just my opinion but I think the EU is miles better than what Disney has been making. Sorry it’s just my opinion
Except Disney did not have to "get rid" of the EU. They could have just established an alternate universe, sort of what MCU is to Marvel Comicbooks. Or they could have just used one of the many long gaps in the story, but that would require the writers to actually know the lore, which (as the new movies shown us) is apparently too much to demand
I'm not a fan of altenative universes. It takes away all the logic and correlations of what we've learn to know. I'd rather have plot holes here and there than follow a timeline where luke and leia might've never existed
I've researched the entire Star Wars timeline in chronological order from RPGs, to video games, books, comics, films and tv shows. An this video is without flaw. Excellent job!!
The ancient Star Wars stories with the primitive Star Wars universe along with other tales from the EU, sound very interesting because it is based on books, comics, video games, animated series and can expand into enormous amount of great things. It would be interesting to see some films covering pre historic Star Wars which would be super prequels to the prequels itself. It would be like going back in time way before the modern Star Wars era. A lot of EU material would be interesting to see come to life in the future.
The Fifth Great Schism came in 2008 with TCW. The Disney management was slowly creeping in as George Lucas lessened his reins on the company and they falsely promoted Dave Filoni as a "lore master" who got very defensive and standoffish when put on the spot and shortly thereafter started insisting "the EU was never part of George's universe," using his talking points to undermine the spirit of his words. The canon war began in 2008. We lost. Disney won. The rest of it was just playacting.
Legends Grevious can still fit with canon Grevious if you put the 2003 Clone Wars right before the 2008 Clone Wars, and say the first kidnapping of the chancellor failed.
High and mighty for Filoni to claim that after all the needless changes he's made to lore that degrade the history as a whole outside what you can pin to George Lucas. He's no lore master, just a very good charlatan.
i really like the legends content. in my eyes it has made the star wars franchise interesting. the lots of books and games formed the star wars universe to something kind of being more plausible
Read some, Legends have a lot more creativity and respect for original heroes. Can start with "Thrawn Trilogy" by Timothy Zahn: -Heir to the Empire -Dark Force Rising -The Last Command :-)
Starwaker I was never able to read those, but I have the Legends comics where Palpatine brings himself back from the dead using clone bodies... I forgot what it’s called.... and I also have a bunch of Legends novels like The Glove of Darth Vader, Jedi Quest, The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader, The Life of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and so on and so on
Ngl I love honestly legends more then canon it has such more depth to it, and honestly would love to see more lore games from Star wars since it's just a great feeling to live threw that kind of life.
Part of the problem though with legends is people don't realize back then even the EU canon only accepted certain story's as cannon. Others were just well other story's. Many authors took great pains to not write conflicting time lines or make problems where one character ended up at multiple places at the same time in different story's, they did a really good job. They made some mistakes but by in large they made the most cohesive long running story and fictional universe to date. I read a lot of this material as much as I could, and played most all the games, and very rarely did I run into things that couldn't be explained with my knowledge of the lore, and even rarer did I run into problems with people being in the same place at once. So a good example of this was Boba fett, they had a story of what Boba fett did after episode 2 it wasn't very extensive and wasn't terribly interesting, this story was removed from cannon and replaced with an awesome book series, that erased many of the problems of the old one, this book series even informed parts of boba's history that made it into the Clone wars TV series. And the sad part is many of the best parts of this series are practically lost now. The story Is no longer canon and most fans will never know the trans-formative story of boba growing up in a weird place trying to be a good person and slowly has misfortune after misfortune and all he has to rely on is himself, over time he realizes why it's so important to guard one's self, close his emotions, Man up, all though experience. He screw up he find himself in pain, he does everything right he makes money and improves his life. Through this you watch a boy grow to be a man, and eventually one of the most ruthless efficient bounty hunters out there. And you people just talk about the EU being crap. Another good example is Death troopers, looking at the cover I was skeptical, oh great a zombie book "sarcasm" I'm glad this isn't part of the Official cannon, (I told myself years ago when looking at the book, before the Disney purge.) I read the book and it was great, it gave explanations for everything, only used the characters when they weren't doing things in other stories, And had a great bitter sweet ending. The plot was well executed, the setting was fantastic and the ambiance sent shivers down your spine. And it ended not really giving much of a chance to interfere with the other star wars story's. It added to Star Wars and didn't take anything away and that was an example of a great story. But it never was canon, even when it was written. And people don't get that, many things people point too as examples of awful EU canon never where canon even in the old EU. And then there were in my opinion mistakes where things made it as cannon and conflicted with the rest of the star wars stories, like the force unleaded, and made problems with the whole concept and use of the force. And ruined the coherence of it. And that lead to problems in episode seven where they don't understand the lore of the force in the slightest.

The New Empire lucasflims did it because it was going to.be a pain in the ass to adapt for the mainstream audience. They have slowly brought many of this back.
Lavon Media Oh no the writers have to do actual work. They surely dont have an entire galaxy to work with. There puny creative procces can't write a story. Lets just reboot it and pander it to the tumblor crowd and alienate the fanbase that threw there money to see star wars only to not throw money at it no more. It is okay we got the new generation who care not of art and story telling. Lets make sure we target them to sell more toys of our reboot. Now with that sarcasm out of the way you do relise rebootd hardly ever work? If the evil dead reboot failed and gosthbuster reboot failed and robocop reboot failed. Why make a new reboot? You don't reboot art. I don't see anyone rebooting the mona lisa. You know why it didn't need it. If your writers can't add on to a story and need to rebooy an entire galaxy. You got bad writers. Fo you know how big an entire galaxy is? Unlimited opportunity. When bethseda bought out fallout they did not reboot it they expanded the world. Disney can't expand a galaxy but a gaming company can expande an entire country. That's really bad if ypu compare the size scale from a world building point of view.
Look, I love the EU, but there was just way too much to adapt for even two new sets of trilogies. We're talking decades of books, some better than others, that most Star Wars fans, at best, only know portions of. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fischer, and Harrison Ford were too old for them to adapt anything earlier than the Galactic Alliance Era, and how can you possibly start a book accurate Darth Caedus trilogy without first having done the Solo children's development and the Yuuzhan Vong War? Again, I love the EU, but they had to separate the films and the old novels into two separate timelines. It would have been a logistical nightmare and an incomprehensible mess otherwise.
Hopefully they will make a Force War, Hut wars, Infinte Empire, Mandalorian wars, Ancient human expansion, Revan, Great Hyperspace War, Exar Kun War, New Sith War, Zygerian Empire, Great Galatic War, Kel Dor Empire (I think they would make cool villians), Trandoshan Empire, Umbaran Empire, completely new Empires, and Droid Revolution films in the future even if they change the plots a little as long as they dont ruin it.
I like to think that the story/saga of the Skywalkers becomes one of the greatest in the history of the galaxy, but we haven't seen all of their greatest events yet. Luke Skywalker is just remembered as the first and most famous Skywalker, so the galactic time measurement begins with him
Efods Movies Well, there really hasn't been much AFTER Episode 6, right? Even in Expanded Universe/Legends, it doesn't seem like there was much with the Skywalkers that weren't directly tied to Luke Skywalker. To be fair, this video here is the first time I've ever really experienced the history of Star Wars beyond the movies, but comparing the BBY era to the ABY, there doesn't seem to be much to read.
Where has this channel been hiding from an original Star Wars fan??? I love what you did with the explanation of the BBY and beyond!! Please keep these coming as I enjoy learning the cannon that I have missed throughout the 40 years of Star Wars. I can see that I need to get the books to catch myself up......or simply watch your videos 😉❤️👍
I would have loved to see a movie of the Galactic Alliance fight against the Yuuzhan Vong, it would look like a Science Fiction Lord Of The Rings only it's actually Star Wars! Who would've thought that a 40 year old film would spark a generation of many Star Wars sci-fi/fantasy stories.
Hate to be that guy but it was actually the new republic that fought the Yuuzhan vong, after the war the galaxy was so damaged it needed a new government, that was the alliance
This video merely does its best to summarize the Legends timeline, but if someone decides to binge all of it, they'll learn how entertainingly deep the lore is with history and adventure. And I'm not only speaking of books. Star Wars comes in all types of forms.

According to the admittedly non canon story where han solo dies on Earth, Chewbacca becomes bigfoot, and Indiana Jones finds the Millennium Falcon. The battle of Yavin should of happened a little after 1800, and Cade Skywalker lived during the 1940s. So I wonder what the galaxy looks like in 2016?
In comparison, I don't know a whole heap about Legends. But I think they should have included: 1. How Mara initially wanted to kill Luke 2. Mara and Luke's son, Ben 3. How Anakin died during the Yuuzhan Vong War 4. How Mara dies at the hands of Darth Caedus
8:54 That is incorrect; Ulic never fought Exar a second time; he was stripped of the Force and exiled to Rhen Var, while the Jedi went on to defeat Kun with a Wall of Light that imprisoned his spirit on Yavin IV.
You should just do the insanely long video of ALL of the complete legends history in detail....maybe even make it in parts as a series you do or something

7:51-11:05 (4,000 BBY to 3,951BBY) is really interesting. A lot of really interesting stuff happens in a very short amount of time with characters that sound really interesting and compelling. I bet that would make a cool time period to base a series of movies off of (too bad it’s no longer canon)

@Alan Yablonski Well, the Big Bang is said to happen 13.000.000.000 BBY. We think it happened about 13.7 billion years ago, that means Star Wars takes place (13.7 - 13) billion years ago.

Canon doesn't really pick up until around 100 BBY. But that's to be expected since canon has only existed for less than 5 years and legends has existed for about 30. Right now legends is better than canon but that's probably just because it's had more time to develop. It'll be interesting to see what canon looks like in a few decades.

So a summarization of the history of the Star Wars Galaxy is: The Jedi almost die but come back a lot
Same for the sith
after each time they demilitarized
The Jedi keep dying out and the Sith keep coming back for short periods of time where they fail to control the galaxy.
Basically, Force-users keep screwing up.
I'd say a better summary is "The Sith really don't get that they'll never have a regime lasting more than a generation".
This was awesome. Learned a lot.
+WrecklessEating Thanks!

She should have never been in charge of Lucasfilm
@DejaVoodooDoll
Hey, I can post random quotes too.
@DejaVoodooDoll
Lol, wut?
I did not spin any quote. I just pasted it, just like you did. And asked what was your point, because I genuenly don't know what were you trying to achieve.
But since we are at it, you really need considerable imagination to twist "it is not my universe, but I try to keep it coherent with mine" into "it's not my movie, so it's not canon", especialy when Lucas called it all one "saga"
@DejaVoodooDoll
If Lucas was insistant that Luke should be a hermit, then why didn't you post a quote, where Lucas says so?
Holy shit. So it seems like there is a never ending power struggle between Jedi and Sith. Makes for good lore, but damn it’s crazy

Yeah im also saddend aswell pal
I'm at least happy they can't touch it. NO ONE at Lucasfilm could do it justice. No, not Dave Filoni, not Jon Favreau, _NO ONE._ That said, Legends could still thrive, if it was allowed to be continued by outside entities, like Hasbro, Marvel, Del Rey, and yet they won't do that, lol. theres a couple things i would like to offer corrections for:
-Bane took the title Darth *before* killing the dark brotherhood, not after or because of the accomplishment
-Palpatine did *not* initially comission the clone army. Syfo Dias did. Then told Hego Damask (Plagueiss) of his intentions.. then 10 yrs later Sidious sent Dooku to assasinate Dias and assume funding to the Kaminoans and have them install the order 66 chip

Yes Lee, they are.

*Spend next 40 years intensely working and creating thousands of characters and stories to create best possible expanded universe*
2014:
Disney - Oh ya by the way none of that matters anymore. *now we have full control*
Note: I kind of get why Disney got rid of the EU, I mean the kind of had to in order to leave space to make new movies, but seriously it’s a disappointment that all the work authors and creators put into the EU is disregarded and labeled as kind of “fake.” And sorry this is just my opinion but I think the EU is miles better than what Disney has been making. Sorry it’s just my opinion
Good opinion, you have
Disney/Lucasfilm could have made it an alternate timeline and still publish Legends materials. DC and Marvel deal with multiversal stories everyday.
Idiots, Disney sympathizers are
In Legends all Star Wars Chracters had amazing backstorys even background small chracters
I've researched the entire Star Wars timeline in chronological order from RPGs, to video games, books, comics, films and tv shows. An this video is without flaw. Excellent job!!
+Wa Ri thanks!
Wa Ri From Old Republic games series to Clone Wars 2003 TV series to Legacy of the Force books series :)
Before the dark times... Before Disney!
Before lightsaber got nerf
Before rebels
If Disney just gives up its campaign to rule Lucasfilm, everything would work well.
Wolves4Life made my Day
Poke Thegamer rebels was ok the movies are shit
The Fifth Great Schism occurred when Disney did away with Legends.
The Sixth Great Schism occurred when "The Last Jedi" was released.
gary24fan I like your analogies. Order 66 was declared when LucasArts got dissolved...
Those Schism are out of order
The seventh will be when Dave Filoni takes over
@Richard Sutton Definitely not when Disney did away with Legends.
Legends Grevious was better.
Everyone's Legends version is better than their Disney version.
Legends Grevious can still fit with canon Grevious if you put the 2003 Clone Wars right before the 2008 Clone Wars, and say the first kidnapping of the chancellor failed.
There’s always a little truth in legends
D Legend damn
D Legend your title is quite fitting.
Or in this case, a lot of truth
High and mighty for Filoni to claim that after all the needless changes he's made to lore that degrade the history as a whole outside what you can pin to George Lucas. He's no lore master, just a very good charlatan.
I seek knowledge. I'll call you, Old Master.
+Batman Jr. I accept this title haha
+Star Wars Minute this must have taken so long to make! Great job!
I’m just getting into the EU now. I’m reviewing the books and comics as I go along, I’d appreciate it if anybody took the time to stop by.
i really like the legends content. in my eyes it has made the star wars franchise interesting. the lots of books and games formed the star wars universe to something kind of being more plausible
Thank you for putting so much work into this. You've made my day.
After watching The Last Jedi this feels much much much better...
Read some, Legends have a lot more creativity and respect for original heroes.
Can start with "Thrawn Trilogy" by Timothy Zahn:
-Heir to the Empire
-Dark Force Rising
-The Last Command
:-)
Starwaker exactly
Starwaker YEEEEEESSSSS, MY DUUUUUUUDE
Starwaker I was never able to read those, but I have the Legends comics where Palpatine brings himself back from the dead using clone bodies... I forgot what it’s called.... and I also have a bunch of Legends novels like The Glove of Darth Vader, Jedi Quest, The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader, The Life of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and so on and so on
still much better than force awakens
Legends will always remain the Expanded Universe- and my childhood- in my heart.
BUT YOU SKIPPED THE FORCE UNLEASHED.
not incredibly major
James DeLano
It's quite important
After all it was Galen Marek, who rallied all the Rebel leaders
Sam Hayes Sword of the Jedi: A Star Wars Story.
The Solos: A Star Wars Story
New Jedi Order: A Star Wars Story
The Vongs: A Star Wars Story.
Rise of Caedus: A Star Wars Story
Rule of One: A Star Wars Story.
TFU wasn't really canon to begin with, which is good since it was garbage.
Jacen Solo >>> Ben Solo
Cooler?
Yup
Ben who?
I am 300th like.
you also got ben skywalker.
16:20
Disney: Hey, can I look at your notes for a sec
Legends: Sure, just change it a bit.
underrated comment
I cant believe Disney put this all to waste
Lavon Media I don't understand what mixed mean in this sense can you elborate please? I want to know your oppion on a subjective topic.
Imma grab some food for this one and watch it on the big screen
too bad the Expanded Universe rebranded into Legends and declared non-Canon...... damn Darth Disney......
i choose Jaina/Jacen over Kylo anytime
rizka arifiandi so do I. I like the original Ben of that generation - Ben Skywalker
....and what is going on with Mara Jade? I loved the Thrawn trilogy ;-)
Simplicios
there's no Mara Jade in canon.... sadly..... :(
It's still starwars lore. All of this is original and I prefer it more.
I think rey is gonna be Jania
SW Legends IS canon, at least for most of us older fans. As far as I'm concerned the Thrawn Trilogy is chapters 7, 8, and 9.
All of this makes the movies so insignificant...
And the Empire too. SOOO much history! And the grand plan of Sidious ends in like 23 years. Haha.
Checkmate1138 to be fair they would have gotten longer if they had gone with future rather than past
Tommy Peli If only Ahsoka was in the New Jedi Order since 26 years ago :(.
Dude, imagine if knights of the old republic was made into a trilogy and was directed by George or even Peter Jackson, id pay 10000 to see that
it would have had to been rated R, but i'm good with that.
Hate to be that guy but it was actually the new republic that fought the Yuuzhan vong, after the war the galaxy was so damaged it needed a new government, that was the alliance
Legends will always be superior to cannon. I grew up with legends.
Thank you for the correct Star Wars time Line
Man,Those early Dark Horse comics Tales of the Jedi were really something special..
I happen to have the MP3 files of Tales of the jedi Parts 1 and 2 sadly no part 3 yet.
7:17 Beast Wars?
Well, that's just Prime.
Nice Reference
BEAST WARS THEME INTENSIFIES
Transformers?
My man!
Confirmed that transformers and Star Wars is in the same universe?1?1?
This video merely does its best to summarize the Legends timeline, but if someone decides to binge all of it, they'll learn how entertainingly deep the lore is with history and adventure. And I'm not only speaking of books. Star Wars comes in all types of forms.
I hope someone in Disney does bring it.
I miss the EU
Me too, the worst part is I only got into it recently, finished Darth Bane´s trilogy and some other audiobooks.
The actually canon darth vader comics come close to some of the little stories you may find in EU.
Josh Morris Brexit means Brexit
@@user-pf6yn6bv8s I'm setting myself up for an r/wooosh but when he says EU he is referring to Extended Universe not European Union.
@@sebas8225 The good thing though is you have a lifetime of material to read and play.
This is real Star Wars canon - that's what I'll tell my kids
Same
Star Wars fans with kids? Hahahah
@@christophersalinas2722 My parents had me
@@billloney2567 I’m glad they are passing the love for Star Wars down to another generation.
@@christophersalinas2722 Hell yeah, I'm 17 years old and I grew up with the Expanded Universe before Disney bought it out, Revenge of the Sith came out before I was only a year old and Genndy's Clone Wars is what I've always preferred pver TCW
But I think they should have included:
1. How Mara initially wanted to kill Luke
2. Mara and Luke's son, Ben
3. How Anakin died during the Yuuzhan Vong War
4. How Mara dies at the hands of Darth Caedus
Is it just me or do I hear that alarm that you hear on star destroyers buried behind the music?
+jediking12 It's not just you :P
+Star Wars Minute Same I hear it too!
It's at 6:09
I heard it once I read your post lol.
Legends Star Wars is best Star Wars.
Nope
Ben Schwartz what do you mean by nope?
Jorge Yanez No its not
Sebastian Sello your thoughts betray you,I feel the good in you.
Dziga why can't we all appreciate both cannon and Legends? Both of them aren't perfect,so why not.
8:54 That is incorrect; Ulic never fought Exar a second time; he was stripped of the Force and exiled to Rhen Var, while the Jedi went on to defeat Kun with a Wall of Light that imprisoned his spirit on Yavin IV.
This is waaayyyy cooler than the Canon.
You should just do the insanely long video of ALL of the complete legends history in detail....maybe even make it in parts as a series you do or something
And they call Yoda Old
With a name like Mandalore the Indomitable, that guy was just asking to be defeated.
EDIT: To say nothing of "The Infinite Empire" and "The Eternal Empire."
I just watched Rise of Skywalker and nothing will beat this legends content man
holy shit man I love this so much...

@Un-broken and victorious they are talking about the real canon
7:51-11:05 (4,000 BBY to 3,951BBY) is really interesting. A lot of really interesting stuff happens in a very short amount of time with characters that sound really interesting and compelling. I bet that would make a cool time period to base a series of movies off of (too bad it’s no longer canon)
yeah because there are video games about that time period lmao

It's awful that Disney thought that they could do better than this and threw it away
I mean hey. Having seen this video I can kinda understand why people are mad but imo most of the disney sw stuff they've been putting out is pretty good
@MaxTheRaven It's called having an opinion. And I don't love everything disney has put out. SW resistance is bleh. Solo was meh but fun and deserves at least one sequel, rogue one was good but had boring characters, and even though I love episodes 7 and 8, they have it's flaws (especially episode 7)
@@techno639 I don't know about Disney's version. I feel like Legends are far more better in lore, and quality.
@@fristnamelastname5549 Depends really, KOTOR and Thrawn are great but then there's also stuff like those shitty stories with Han and Leia's children and Abeloth. Meanwhile, Disney canon can have something as dull as Rogue One but it also gave us the epic Twilight of the Apprentice episode

Either you had an incredibly shitty education, or

Guess what, fanboi - Real Life = more important than Star Wars. I’m a huge Star Wars/Star Trek/MCU/Battlestar Galactica Nerd, but I also realize that Real Life tops all of those. I truly hope

A) It was a harmless joke, nothing to serious.
B) My education was thrusted in the highest importance in my life, the only thing I knew was educational books and encyclopedias. And was taught I had to be everything better than parents.
B1) My devotion to be the best in everything cause me mental issues around grade 4 where my schizophrenia and bipolar depression started and put me through a terrible lifestyle of constant medication and sucide attempts.
C) My teachers did the best for me and I give it me all I was constant honor roll student throughout public school.
D) Also college courses are 1000x better than public, because classes in public schools in america only teaches you how to take tests, college you learn the subject and study in great detail.
Also it sad you have to go far saying I hope I don't vote, go somewhere else with that idiotic spewage coming from your mouth, I do whatever I want with my rights.

Batata Assada Man it's like we have millions of years of history in real life.
Seriously fiction takes stuff from real life history and cook it into the fiction in some form.
