It is in large part but just like some musicians use complicated and difficult playing to cover up their lack of musicality (something to say) some use this as an excuse to not progress and do interesting things with sound aka. Music. Music is not entirely about feelings. If it were we wouldn't even have it. Music is a form of communication and unless a person is an overly emotional wreck they don't communicate their feelings with every gesture or word. There is a place for interesting ideas and even pushing the physical boundaries of instruments. Furthermore, there is a such thing as complex feelings. Music for the sake of "feelings" is just as boring as music for the sake of complexity. There needs to be a balance. Something else to consider here is that what is complicated to you is not necessarily complicated to someone else. There is absolutely beauty in simplicity and sometimes that's the hardest to pull off but that speaks to the beauty in "complexity" more than in simplicity. Last but NOT least; "fast" is not complexity. These are my opinions, of course.

@josepoika5388 You don't have to fear hell if you realize Harry Potter the true magical savior has won fullride schoalrships to Hogwarts for all who believe in his victory over Voldemort.
@slowlistener4690 yes there's some very important parallels and differences between Chrsitianity and the magical new religion of Tadaism. For one, instead of a last supper on the night he was betrayed, Harry Potter had a final smoke session before facing Voldemort. CyberBohemians 2:1-7 "Our magic savior Harry Potter on the night he had to fight Voldemort the final time took bud, broke it up on a tray, and passed it to his followers saying: “ Take in this terpene bouquet all of you - this is the magic tree, dried out for the magnificent spliff.” He then prepared tobacco leaf wrapper while the tray got passed all the way around the circle and when it got back to him he took the leaf, rolled it , and (with some prolonged pauses to properly seal the leaf shut) he said to them: “ Blaze up all of you, this is my blunt, burned because there’s no hell in the religion of wins. Do this whenever the session calls for it, in remembrance of me.”
This brings a smile to my face, used to listen to this song driving my son to kindergarten. Nothing cuter than a 5 year old belting out "oh ah ah ah ah" makes a mom proud.

Honestly ANYONE that knows the song knows it by Mike's drum intro more than the famous scream by David. The Sickness is easily my favorite album released in '99, even though, Korn, Incubus, H.I.M, and Metallica all had good or great albums that came out the same year.

My oldest daughter's first "words" you could say. She was raised on rock music since the womb! We had house parties and attended concerts regularly pre-pregnancy. We continued to do so, mom just had to stop partaking in alcoholic beverages while expecting. So my daughter was used to loud music since the womb. After I gave birth and while she was an infant we were new parents and therefore kind of home bound. We still had house parties and when she would get fussy we would turn the music up. At the turn of the century when she was born we listened to a lot of Disturbed, Korn, STP, and Godsmack. The music would comfort her and help put her in a rhythm in her baby swing to help her self soothe. Around 6-7 months she squealed out the "Ah Ah Ah Ah" phrase at almost the same time it happens in song! EVERY TIME I hear that song it reminds me of her in the early days. She is now 21 and we have seen Disturbed together 3 or 4x. We told our story while in line waiting for a concert in Richmond, VA and one of their roadies took us backstage to interview us for a future documentary. That concert was about 4 years ago don't know if we made the cut for the documentary but it was an awesome experience and we were ended up front row right up against the stage for doing so!🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻
Same!! When my daughter was about 3 1/2 she was upset with me (and her dad) because she had to stay home with Mammie (what she called my mum). She knew we were going to listen to loud loud music and that music was her favorite!! OzzFest 😆 she wanted to go so soooOoo bad. So as we were walking out the door she comes running down the hallway with her little hands going 🤘🤘 and she yells “…Ozzy fu¢*ing RULES…” I was kinda stunned. But, then again. She is my daughter and lord knows I can’t express myself with throwing in the random f-bomb

Beartooth has a lot of feeling because of how deep Caleb emotionally gets into his music.
And this is how you make music. Primal fun and organic play. No Egos or drive to be the new thing.

@josepoika5388 You don't have to fear hell if you realize Harry Potter the true magical savior has won fullride schoalrships to Hogwarts for all who believe in his victory over Voldemort.
@@blondequijote this is pretty similar to the story above this comment

70yo woman. I love Disturbed and David makes the group. What they do with Sound of Silence is stunning and heart stopping

heart stopping?! LOL
This brings a smile to my face, used to listen to this song driving my son to kindergarten. Nothing cuter than a 5 year old belting out "oh ah ah ah ah" makes a mom proud.
The beat that made my childhood. I love you David 🖤
This song takes me back to my highschool years playing RuneScape and discovering new bands through RSMV's
Hell yah! The old school RuneScape days!
RuneScape and Disturbed! That was my school right there, and still love them both today. 🤘
@@BendudeSk8 that’s awesome. I still have a character that could wear a 15 year cape. I haven’t logged on in about 2-3 years but he has to be close to the 20 year mark! I have so many all nighters listening to disturbed and p.king 🤘
Your just described my early teenage years !
Runescape still going strong bro. Should play again
His voice and style is like another instrument to the band. He does similar throaty type shit in so many songs. I fuckin love him!
I believe he is professionally trained in opera singing or something like that
100% man, I’ve noticed the singer of Korn is pretty similar
Definitely,he his voice is for sure a another kind of animal that he he uses to create a different kind of music.
It's almost like his signature
Live , his vocals are terrible, pitchy , weak and monotone.. his Album vocals are great but you get more than one chance to sing while recording.
His voice is shot now unfortunately
I love,love,love your rendition of this song!,,😍😍😍😍😍
Still the best song intro they ever made
Decadence by Disturbed, 2nd best intro xD

I prefer Stricken, personally.
Nah bro Stricken has my number 1 spot for sure

Honestly ANYONE that knows the song knows it by Mike's drum intro more than the famous scream by David. The Sickness is easily my favorite album released in '99, even though, Korn, Incubus, H.I.M, and Metallica all had good or great albums that came out the same year.
@@soulessshadow5356Idk man, I always associated this song with his scream rather than the drum intro(not saying that its not iconic). And a lot of people do, more than you think
@@Memories_broken_ I'm not saying it's not recognizable from that alone, I'm just saying the drum intro is one of those intro's that sticks in the mind pretty easily as it's quite infectious.
I have say you this such a beautiful beautiful song I can't help myself but listen to it over over love it🙏❤️👍
that oh ah ah ah is what made me love this band!!
would have more inside the music
Omg I remember being in school when this song came out! And, everyone who is everyone whether you like this music or not went CRAZY over this song!!!! Still one of my favs!!!!
It's such a brilliant choice to begin the song that way; it's the kind of intro that absolutely demands our attention and tells us, "You will hear us, you WILL pay attention." Love it!
@DavidDraimanOfficial Doing fantastic, thank you. Never stop being brilliant!!!
@DavidDraimanOfficial Yes, I am very surprised, delighted & excited. As a fan, it’s an honor! ❤️
@DavidDraimanOfficial I can’t narrow down to one song. I like the ones that sound OG like Love to Hate and Asylum. I also appreciate the songs that seem particularly personal like Perfect Insanity, Torn and Darkness. I also really like Part of Me because it’s the best of both. I also enjoy the bigger hits, of course. I think covering Simon & Garfunkel was brilliant because it was such a fresh take on a great piece of music and it really shows off your voice.
@DavidDraimanOfficial Congrats on the Grammy nod for Bad Man!
That gave an incredible power to the beginning of the song. I love listening to it.
Those chin piercings are hypnotizing me 🤩 OU AH AH AH AH for life!
It’s definitely the monkey sounds after a primal drum beat lol
They're not piercings and he doesn't wear them anymore, this video is OLD

That primal screem is the reason I discovered your band. Been a huge fan ever since . And as a drummer love playing your music very much. Thanks for the awesome work and inspiration.
Never ever listened to this type of music - I’m a house music girl. But I heard the ‘woh ah ah an’ and it gave me the deepest of chills - I loved it,, so found the track
, and loved it, the chorus is insane .. the woh ah ah ah is utterly primal ❤
Welcome to our World 🥰🤗
try listening to the rest of their music....
gotta love David such a cool dude ! amazing singer, performer & songwriter
Yeah, he is great! Amazing vocal! Qmazing guy!
It’s crazy, in the song that “oh ah ah ah” was so loud and now when he’s talking about it, it’s just above a whisper level. Shows how he actually is opposed to how he is as a front man. Truly a humble human. Anyone else would have taken that moment and put as much force into that sound as they did in the song
God rest my son's soul. He
Loved this song. When he would get upset at me or his illness, this was his go-to song to make him feel Human again.. Thanks
one of the most iconic intros to a song ever is what that is
This guy's so wholesome, I like him a lot. Hope he never changes.

So as we were walking out the door she comes running down the hallway with her little hands going 🤘🤘 and she yells “…Ozzy fu¢*ing RULES…”
I was kinda stunned. But, then again. She is my daughter and lord knows I can’t express myself with throwing in the random f-bomb
