More differences from the 60HE that you didn’t mention is that it’s gasket mounted PCB and Polycarbonate backplate. As someone who didn’t get the 60HE bc I have a custom board with the features mentioned above, the PC backplate + gasket mount + 75% is why I finally pulled the trigger. :)
So who can recommend some good white paint that doesn't chip? If someone experiences this reach out to us, it's covered by warranty. Great review much appreciated.

The funny thing is that it doesn't even have a normal switch(like blue switch or linear switch), it uses those weird silicone pads that close a gap on the keyboard to activate a keypress(like those shitty keyoards that you would get at school). I am now getting my wooting 80he in around 5 days! This is gonna be such a huge upgrade for me, and I can't wait!
I modded my wooting 60he+, and it’s honestly underrated how the software updates/beta tests are for every single one of their keyboards, even older ones
I just bought the full size wooting and I pre ordered an 80HE with the bare zinc case. I will pay whatever amount they demand purely because I love the quality and they don’t make me download bloatware to use the keyboard 👍
if they released this a year earlier it would've been a game changer but right now the HE keyboard market is very saturated that the only redeeming quality of a wooting keyboard is their software

it feels on par with this tbh, but the inconsistency in having random inputs register even tho i barely touch the key is something that i didnt like. also having it trigger rapid trigger even tho it is fully bottomed out eg when im walking forward and i suddenly stop even tho i have fully bottomed the W key
I went from a 10kls mechanical keyboard to an 80he and the difference is immediately noticeable. Do you need to buy the crazy zinc version shown here is unlikely. But I can say a Hall effect keyboard is a big upgrade. Wooting has a crazy solid build quality and the web based software is very well optimized. I love mine.
I'm excited to get my 80HE soon to replace my Keychron! I got the plastic model because I might replace the casing with a third party one in the future.
Wooting still has the best hall effect keyboards imho. They're not cheap, but their firmware and software is the literal best. Which surprised me, considering companies like Razer have been around for much, *much* longer, yet somehow Wooting beats them all in terms of features and latency. Don't know how they did it, but they did.
I really hope wooting make software that uses the function key with arrow keys to make volume go up and down!!!! Every other board has a volume knob. So make a function key work with arrow keys to adjust volume.
I don't know if I remember this correctly, but I think Wooting actually had the community vote what size of keyboard they would prefer (maybe I'm just confusing this with something else idk)

Heads up. Keyboard enthusiast here. After owning a Wooting, I can finally say that they’re way overhyped and priced. Software is good I’ll admit. But looks, sound and feel are all awful. I wish Wooting cared about the materials used rather than just the PCB. Keycaps, case and over all looks and sound is just unacceptable at this price point. Anyone who’s in the market for an HE Board, my daily for the past 2 months has been the Keychron Q1HE. IMO it’s a step up in every category except the software (which is actually very similar, just not quite as fluid ) It’s definitely a more premium feeling and sounding keyboard by a mile.

They already said, that they did this specific 80% layout, because they want the space between the F and extra keys, so you wont hit any of them by accident Additionaly they didn't want to move the arrow keys more to the left, because then people could not just use their keycaps and instead have to buy the wooting Keycaps just for the right shift key Thats what i know so far

whats funny about HE is that i have no need for it. i game just fine without it. have never even thought that i needed it to play better. i'm able to win games against people just fine, some of them might even have an HE keyboard that didn't help them. if people think by getting this kind of stuff is gonna immediately make them a god at gaming i have beach front property to sell them in montana
im still pressed they did a new layout instead of a regular 75% thatd make it way easier to get aftermarket cases.. Its essentially a tkl size but without the advantages of tkl.

You didn't have to use another shift key, the layout just looked off before the fix because it wasn't aligned vertically.
