    Anyone else wondering about catching endemic life and having them as pets? Maybe it's just me but I really liked going for those crown sizes

      they'll definitely bring back endemic life collecting, cant imagine them bringing back the slinger and make a bunch of new endemic life just for it to become a background set pieces

      ​@@mahranramadhanAlso seemingly useless endemic life. Like, Rise had endemic life but they all had uses afaik. The little endemic critters in this game don't have an immediate or obvious use, which feels like they could definitely be for pets.

      I really hope so, that was probably one of my favorite features in world. When me and the fiance would play she wasn't as big into the actual "big game" hunts and would often prefer to wander and collect pets while I fought the big Bois. Once they were good and ready she'd come in with the capture.

      Absolutely top tier change. I had lost many traps when deploying it then monster suddenly leaves the area or accidentally using one during an elder dragon hunt

    One of the info videos from, I think it was Good Vibes Gaming, who had a member get to see the presentation stated that a end hunt rewards screen did pop up after the hunt, once you clicked through you were just back in the world where you were at when it popped up.

    So glad someone asked about the difficulty of the game and expressed concern over our hunter having too much power. Good to hear that the monsters have been adjusted so that we'll NEED to use these features in order to survive their increased aggression. Monsters in Rise, save a few, were not balanced to combat the massive buffs we got, so I'm glad to hear Wilds will (hopefully) not have the same issue.

      To be fair while World and Wilds are mainline titles, Rise is a handheld title, so it makes sense how it deviates from the mainline games.

      @@matthewalvarez6884 That doesn't change the fact that it's two teams who work on different design philosophies. If they would discard the mainline philosophy for going all in on the handheld style, it would've been done before World, when as you said handheld sold better. Now that World has put mainline MH on the map, there's even less of a reason to discard the mainline philosophy

    If they don't make "making food" look as playful and delicious as in Iceborne, that would definitely be a one point downgrade for me. At least from 10/10 to a 9/10 game.
    I'm sorry, but that was one of my favorite parts, watching the female cat chef caress the meat, prepare the stew and hand over the plate of delicious stuff.
    Just thinking about it makes me hear the sound, hear the voice and remember her gentle touches.
    They'd better not mess that up.
    And of course that is the most important part of a game and a monster hunter game in general. :D

    I imagine the solution for the armor problem is quite simple with skills like Razor sharp/spare shot already being 2 skills in 1 so most likely they will try and combine more skills into 1

      That's probably one aspect of it but I doubt it's so simple, because the disparity between skills isn't solely ranged vs. melee. Some weapons want different skills even in the same class. For example, a bow or dual blades might really want stamina recovery skills, but then switch to LBG or Switch Axe respectively and you might find the stamina recovery to be way overkill. To fix this they're either going to have to force players to make some tough build choices or revamp the system entirely, say by attaching the majority of skills to the weapon itself.

      ​@@0ceanking I was thinking the same thing. Either armor unlocking bonus slots on weapons or weapons having more slots than present, but forcing more focused builds where armor empowers the slots on weapons. So maybe you don't get the full perfect spread for a bow build, but you can get ele damage and stam recovery gems and armor bumps them up to 11 so you have MASSIVE ele damage and very quick stam recovery, but you don't get the luxury of also having stam depletion reduction or evade distance/window.

      I can see a similar style that skill swap scrolls worked. Armor could have a side A/side B where swapping weapons will use different sets of decorations. Sure you won’t be optimized fully for both weapons, but you’ll be optimized for one at least.

    I know MANY people do not like the palamutes. They were billed as attack support while palicos would be more support oriented but it ended up that palicos outdamaged palamutes anyway. Additionally they wete largeky redundant because the zones werent really large enough to warrand a speedy mount on top of having wirebugs. But the seikret I think is completely justified in its utility AND isnt trying to muscle in on the palicos' role. It is also very good to hear that mounted combat is a utility not a playstyle which I think many were concerned about too

      im not 100% sure but speedrunners used 2 palamutes to be faster. i guess the dogs outdamaged the cats by a lot
      even in dmg charts i saw dogs did more dmg than cats in regular hunts

      @@petersilie3826 @twoshieldsandsomemilk i focused on minmaxing pets from the game release and in BASE RISE explody palicos would actually outdps dogs pretty much always unless it was narwa/ibushi fight where u could abuse kunai throwing dogs that got a lot better uptime... u also could get affinity buff from cats that would also boost dps indirectly a lot
      in sunbreak tho first meta was silkbinder dog doing like 3-4x more damage than cats(it was actually very easy to outdps medium experienced hunters with dogs only while u were in multiplayer) and now after updates and balance fixes the elemental chain blades are the best choice for dps doing like 2-5x more (bit nerfed, more RNG and also weapon dependant but u can access it in base rise pretty much as soon as u start the game) i did palamute only run and pretty much all quest from village to middle of the master rank took me 7-16mins so pretty much same as for normal hunt what is kinda insane
      ppl disliked the dogs cause they didnt care to minmax their gadgets and stats/weapons, also didnt see actual dps cause dps meter is not in the game... so when they saw cat exploding barrel for 300-600dmg then they instantly assumed that its the best... and ALSO its worth noting that dogs dps were very dependant on how good YOU are at the game cause they would attack pretty much only when u attack... aaaannnddd slower weapons like hammer or GS would just trigger 5x less palamute attacks compared to ppl who would use something fast like DBs/SnS/LS... so if u are bad at the game then dogs are also bad xd
      when it comes to me im actually sad that we wont get combat pet like palamutes again. it was very fun to interact with them and see them doing better than actual players xd, maybe there is a chance for good palicos tho... rise palico skills were very fun to use and test ngl

    I love that they’re giving the player so much freedom. First we get a completely open map with a seamless transition between the main base, then we can hunt everything we want as if it was a permanent expedition mode, and now we know that part breaks and monster kills yield instant rewards. Very interested how much of this will be shown to us in the demo. If we can go everywhere and hunt every monster on the map at any time, we could for example mess around with Thor Magala or some other monster native to this region. Very big improvement over the set demo quests of Rise and Sunbreak

    They can do like they did in world of Warcraft with tier sets for classes where each spec has different effects on the set itself so they can do that with the weapons it's not hard to do and probably the best method to implement for multi weapon 👍

    I think that the supposed armor skills issue is sort of a non-issue. Making builds that accommodates only one weapon type is more into min maxing territory and I see value in making a more generalist build to accommodate two different weapon types when swapping. It allows for more diverse playstyles which is usually more healthy for gameplay and the gameplay community. If given the chance, players will optimize the fun out of gameplay.

    Lance clutch counter was so fun. Let me sekrit lance charge, into a flying hookshot poke attack. If any weapon wants to get pulled towards monsters at ludicrous speed, its the lance!

      It seems like it'll be much more seemless than clutch claw because it's a part of the base game and unlike iveborne there's no bass game that becomes too easy with it, and it's not an active button press like the clutch claw and instead a part of the hunt meaning it won't feel like an ability you spam

      Based on what we know, it seems like wounding attacks are built into your movesets, so you'd be using the mechanic just by playing the game. Clutch claw felt bad because not only was it NECESSARY for good damage in MR, but it had clunky inputs that felt slow and risky. The wound mechanic seems more like something that happens as a result of using your moveset to the fullest and makes it more immersive in the sense of a hunter targeting a damaged/weakened/ *wounded* area in order to take its prey down.

      You're not forced to use CC any more than you're forced to use a demondrug. I haven't used DD/AS before a hunt besides Fatalis in like 10 years. If you don't want to use it just don't, guys. I despise this argument against the CC because it literally makes no sense. People say its "necessary" and simultaneously "too risky" or some shit, like, my brother in Gog, that is called balance. You're not meant to have wounding active 100% of the time. You are not a speed runner. It is a utility. Like, oh I just hate how you MUST place mega barrel bombs against the monster's head when you put it to sleep. Or, oh I hate having to use xyz armor skill, its just so OP and hard to manage. It's the same argument to me. Stop feeling the need to min max every little thing. I get its built in to every monhun player's blood to min max, but holy shit, stop acting like the game requires it from you in any way.
      One last point, I understand that its in the past at this point, but I just know the same argument is gonna get used against this new thing, and it making a comeback is just so annoying to me. At the end of the day, if we can hunt together and not be assholes to one another, it'll be alright.

      @ToasTFresh the old clutch claw argument CANT be used for the new wound mechanic since it was confirmed that you inflict wounds just as a result of playing the game. No specific inputs or moves are required.

    Are there any info on the hunting horn? I want my old HH back, Rise's changes and simplification effort never hooked me and I miss slamming Encores into monster faces :(((
    I want more songs per horn like before, and a queue system that has a right to even exist in the first place (what's the point of a queue display, when you only need to play a note twice for its effect?)

    5:14 i have a guess?? Maybe there is an armor augment mechanic that lets you add extra skill to armor and maybe the farther you get in the game you might be able to and 2 and then 3 skills

    going by their description it sounds like you will be able to set build templates for each weapon.
    so lets say build 1 has greatsword + crit eye wex, build 2 could have sns + evasion 5 for example.
    as soon as you swap all your skills would be replaced by that of the other template.
    obviously that's just speculation but it makes sense if it would work that way

    IF there's weapon combo attacks (using both at the same time) i really hope we get to use blade weapons as bowgun ammo. It would be hilarious to use a greatsword as ammo for a heavy bowgun

    Thought that just came to me about Skill and weapon swapping, what if weapon specific skills are attached to the weapon?
    For example, Artillery can only affect Charge Blade and Gunlance, so it would be a detriment if you were running a Bow and Charge Blade as your weapons. Both weapons could use Focus, where the Bow could just charge up instead of dashing. But like how we had augments at the endgame (HR/MR), what if we could augment the weapon specific skills? So stuff like Capacity Boost and Artillery, which only affect CB and GL, will be augmented skills on the weapon, but something like Quick Sheathe (which affects all weapons) will be on the armor set.
    This does remind me of the random theorycrafting thread on Reddit, where they try to speculate what kind of skills you can mix together to benefit both types of weapons. Ranged Weapons don't need to sharpen, so Speed Sharpening could be combined with other skills that could benefit ranged like Ammo Up.
    Kind of like how Bowguns can be customized for different playstyles. Bowguns have Normal, Pierce, Spread, Sticky, Elemental, etc. (not a bowgunner myself, so limited knowledge on their playstyles), maybe each weapon can customize their specific skills. Granted, this might make things a bit tougher on bowgunners if they need to worry about their skills on top of their augments, or it could just be two separate things.
    Hunting Horn has Horn Maestro,
    bows + bowguns have Ammo Up / Normal Shots / Piercing Shots / Spread Shots / Special Ammo Boost,
    CB + GL need Capacity Boost and Artillery,
    weapons with shields can use Guard + Guard Up + Offensive Guard,
    LS + DB + IG + SA + CB can benefit from Power Prolonger,
    bows should just have Bow Charge Plus by default,
    Focus? Could be generic enough that all weapons can use it, but not sure how it would fit in with HH, SnS, Lance, GL, IG, bowguns...
    Obviously, some weapons want more skills available to them, but also not every one is desired. CB (for example) would want Capacity Boost, Artillery (if building for Impact phials), Guard, Offensive Guard, and Focus for a SAED build. Or Capacity Boost, Power Prolonger, and Focus for something like a SavAxe build.
    But yeah, I'm probably planning on going HH + (CB or GS), and with a single skill like Sonorous being specific to HH can be slotted onto the weapon, CB requiring so many skills that I'd probably have to get them on the armor means my HH build would be absolutely wasting skills it can't use. However, if they can be "attached" to the weapon, we could have only generic skills be on armor, or at least mixed skills that benefit any weapon.
    Actually, now that I think about it, this also affects Elemental builds, doesn't it? Every weapon could have an Ice, Water, Fire, Thunder, Dragon elemental build, or a pure Raw Atk build, so what happens if you want to swap from one element to another in a hunt? One Element can be stronger depending on the monster's state, and being able to swap to one or another for reasons is a possibility now, but Elements aren't exactly "one skill fits all" for different weapons of different elements...
    But that's probably a thought for another time.

    I makes sense, that beating the monster just gives it to you.
    Im sure some of you are aware the best way to keep players attention is to limit the break between gameplay. Seems to be what they are trying to do.
    Honestly I love it I really hate waiting between fights and all the back and forth.

    While a lot of this sounds interesting, the bowgun stuff worries me because it sounds like the wrong approach to balancing. Yes, the heavy bowgun is a solid weapon and kind of outclasses the other ranged options.
    No, nerfing it (either in damage output or versatility) is not a good solution. Instead, try to make the bow less annoying to use and either replace the light bowgun entirely or give it an actual reason for existing. If you must screw with the heavy bowgun’s available ammo types, maybe just go all in at last on making the light bowgun the full support weapon out of the two.

    The armor changes will be very welcoming... I liked the fact that a had a set for every weapon.. but it was exhausting at times.. especially when going on multi hunts for a time sensitive quest.

    I think the skill system will end up being like the silkbind scrolls from rise like when you start your quest you'll have your main weapon and skills but when you swap weapons the skills will swap as well
    Meaning each armor set might end up doing blue/red skill set like the scrolls so they encourage multi weaponing but weapon pairs like say the armor set boast skills for duel blade / switch axe and if neither of those are your cup of tea you use a different armor maby one that's a long sword / bow style set
    That's just my hope like that way it will still give you the flexibility to use whatever you want but also it pushes the diversity on you like you might not always use a certain weapon and this will be the chance to break it in
    Honestly the armor thing might not ever happen but most likely to handle the skill and weapon pairing they will most probably use a scroll system like rise had except they won't be scrolls since we're not ninjas anymore

    They will probably make it so that armor has more universal skills and then weapons have their own weapon specific skills that you can socket into. They also might include a skill tree and let you level up specific weapons so that they have some of the major skills inherently.

    Yeah, I kinda figured that the way that they explained the seamless map system, I expected that there will nolonger be "Hunts" per say any more, just that you go out and hunt a monster.

    So happy that they dropped the tenderize mechanic. It's so unfun losing a ton of damage because you don't want to keep spamming grapples.

    Hopefully wilds uses some monsters from frontier tbh and the greatsword technique used in the trailer against one of the fanged beasts is from frontier so I hope we get more frontier content

    I imagine we'd be able to set our own skills for our armor. Like the armor would come with a specific skill, then we'd be able to pick a second skill for the second set. And maybe the skills will switch when you switch weapons? That kinda makes sense to me. And i hope to god we're able to create our own hunter from a preset of voices

    I am hoping for Longsword to be less annoying to play in Wilds.
    The requirements of having 0.1s reaction times and the really poorly designed counter/evade windows were very unfun to deal with.
    Edit: I would also like to see hitboxes to align better with visuals.
    In Worlds most of the times they do not.
    Example: Anjanath's "Shoulder" Tackler.
    When standing underneath the tail, the tail visually never gets close to the player, yet it hits.

      @@drypotato6990 If I have to spend hundreds of hours not having to "learn" something, that makes no sense as it is (see my note on hitboxes), it is bad game design.
      It's completely fine to not be easy to learn, but the timings required are not realistic. Especially for a video game, which is supposed to be a fun and enjoyable experience to forget about the World for a bit.
      What I have to learn are not timings, but invisible hitboxes, that make little to no sense. Unless of course I struggle bus to endgame and eventually get Evade Window to make the required "timing" less of a pain in the butt.
      I personally have no interest in turning a video game into an unpaid job. It's not enjoyable.
      Also, to finish of this unnecessarily long text of mine (sorry for that, I am bad at keeping texts short)!
      Even Longsword Masters have said, that the timings required are not good as they are right now.

    This is a random request. So when Iceborne was announced, I noticed that its trailer was a continuation of the original E3 world Trailers end.
    I asked a RUclips channel to combine them, and they did it! But I can't find the channel anymore (weissgaming?)
    I wanted to watch an edit of those trailers together again, but I can't find it. Would you guys be able to do that? As like a tribute to world?

    I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that hunting horn X diff. weapon combos will be viable in hunts as you can potentially buff yourself/team then switch to your main weapon while keeping said buffs active for easy stat increases.

    The fact that only relativly popular weapons have been used to show off weapon changes makes me feel like less popular weapons are gonna get the short end of the stick and that the will pander to the lowest common denominator because capcom is still a company and might interfere with the devs to boost sales....though maybe thats just my pessimist speaking.....

      @@xhbn2157 i mean they copy pasted animatuons for lance switchskills in sunbreak like the one they stole the from rise GL which made them look rather underwhelming compared to something like LS (just going to the YT switchskill trailers for LS and Lance and look at the comments) (and the reworks dont allways end so well)...and the devs straight up said the gave some monster like deviljho special treatment in turfwars since he was so popular. I agree it hasnt happened to an extreme scale yet but that also might be because mh was very niche and capcom didnt have much reason to interfere in the development and im not going to pretend like it isnt at the verry least a real possobility. I am not saying though that it is going to happen or that what we have seen so far hasnt been amazing, because it has.....im just kinda nervous

      i also heard in some video that they want to focus more on unique sides of each weapon more... so gunlance probably will be a lot better at ignoring weakspots and other stuff like that.
      LS also got more samuraish playstyle from what i have heard and combos with a lot more stuff
      DB also got some blue demon mode that focuses more on dodges, and some combos got reworked again? so even with very little info it rly seems like they are going for some interesting stuff here and there.
      when it comes to bowguns i think its very safe to bet that they will make heavy bowgun A LOT more heavy compared to last versions. i heard it too many times that LBG does everything HBG can but better cause of higher mobility and stuff like that so maybe finally they will play a lot more different instead of taking 2 slots for pretty much same weapon lmao

      closed doors demos are hardly a new thing tbf. this is the easiest way for a company that wants to start putting out small amounts of info to givev journalists/content creators a good amount of content to drip feed out for awhile on an upcoming project.

    Honestly, to me, I don't see the weapon switching/ having the right skills for the other weapon as a concern. It's just another interesting point to consider before the hunt. Do you accomadate skills for the another weapon? Do you take two of the same weapon so you don't have to worry? Or maybe choose skills that work with both? E.g. quick switch and power prolonger work well with both a switchaxe and a charge blade.
    I'm interesting to see what they'll do with it regardless 🤔

    I am curious how they are going to manage the gameplay loop when it comes to farming specific monsters for specific materials. In World for example you could go on investigations. So far the seamless world in Wilds kinda works contrary to this farming loop.

    What if armor was only for defensive stats like health, defense, and resistances? Then weapons had ALL of the slots to benefit it, making two weapons not hard to toggle!

    For skills the most realistic system i could think is having a two loadout that automatically equipped when changing weapon but the dev surely have more creative mind than me so im hoping it will be good

      They will create skills that benefit more than one weapon type
      For example in iceborne, equipping razor sharp will also equip spare shot, benefitting both blademasters and gunners with just a single skill

    As long as spiri birds and clutch claw are permanently gone, its all good. Although Focus Mode seems to be the new clutch claw.
