Those elder dragons are common elder dragons. Kind of like how rathlos, rathian, and diablos are staples to the game because they are common monsters. Taking away either is a big no no. Now, what I do suggest is adding more variety of elder dragons to the roster
Monoblos and Diablos being in the same game would be good for both monsters, as their fights would have to be greatly changed in order to further differentiate them

I really hope she comes back. I’d be ok with just Gammoth of the Fated Four, but I would also understand if they want to reunite them in Wilds since they’ve already modernized Glavenus, Mizutsune, and Astalos.
With a big open place i feel like gammoth can shine but… isn’t she a mammoth? Lets’s hope there’s a huge ice area too because if so then it’ll be awesome seeing that mammoth stomping around
Not technically a 'don't want this monster' but The low rank monsters. I don't want the little dude in the game, with the bigger dude equivalent no where to be seen. It pisses me off to no end that Great Wroggi and Great Baggi were in rise but not Great Jaggi. Like bruh what the fuck? I always don't like that get no Agnaktor for the Uruktor. Or Zamtrios for the Zamites. I don't mind not having Bulldrome, but it being there wouldn't hurt.

It could be a neat point to the ecosystems hierarchy, these Greats aren't around because of too much competition and more success staying small. That said Giggis are infants so them with no sign of Gigginox shouldn't happen
I am ok with Bazelgeuse not being in the game but I like the stalker mechanic, I hope we get a new monster with the same role instead of the same old Deviljho or even the Bazelgeuse. But the concept in itself of a monster hunting other monsters and clashing with the hunter, or even a monster actively searching for YOU, is cool as hell.
Yea I should have mentioned in the video that I’m hoping for a new invader monster that’s Elder level, but have it be a a Neopteron, or a Snake Wyvern. Along with Jho returning!
I would give anything to see Namielle and Val Hazaak and White Fatalis to return. These three are on my wishlist, their fights are beautiful and their themes are amazing to listen to.
I’d say jyratodus can take a seat. I agree with the Bahahaha vs. Mud fish. Khezu can take a seat. Swap him with Gigi for sure. I also wouldn’t really mind if the pseudo wyverns Tigrex/Narga/Barioth took a seat. Zinogre’s had a pretty good.. he could take a seat for one game. I’m pretty open to whatever else.
put everyone who made it in the 5th gen on the bench, including the brand new monsters. I definitely don't want to see kulu ya ku or tobi kadachi come back(even though i love them). And let the older monsters shine. Najarala, nerscylla, agnaktor, seltas queen, gammoth, congalala, blangonga, lagi, giginnox, duramboros etc. They're great monsters, they deserve to be reintroduced to the newer fanbase as well in all the 6th gen glory. I agree about diablos/monoblos. Monoblos is the og horny desert wyvern, I'd love to see it return. And for all the hate plesioth gets, i hope it comes back and they double down on the hip checks lol
God damn that roster plus some new monsters sounds like an amazing roster. In just the monsters you named there is so much variety and possibilities for new Subspecies and variants as well. A suped up Plesioth hip check would be dumb funny if they did it correctly!
I want to see 2 things 1- I want to see more bug type monsters and especially a scorpion monster, like we only have 1 of those we could use some more 2- i want to see a snake monster, like a big copra snake monster or something, that could be found on the map I just like to see different body types of monsters. The games are called Monster Hunter, but we mainly fought only dragons in world, i want to see more variety
I want Ivory Lagiacrus to return, but I do not want base species Lagiacrus in a game without deep water as base species Lagiacrus is directly stated to not have the ability to use it's electricity on land while Ivory can. It also offers the opportunity to make Ivory more visually distinct from Base then just being a recolour, it could even have a more erect leg posture to reflect its better land mobility. I also just really like the idea of base species being subbed out for an existing or new subspecies/relative species every once in a while to at least imply ranges. I would even further want base species to get a subspecies adjective even if the adjective is just "common" (as in "common Lagiacrus" it could and should be more creative, but this is a very real option that could be employed if no other good alternatives exist) as this is in line with real life animal naming conventions.
I've actually made a whole video on this very subject a while back! The idea that some monsters' subspecies or variants can show up without having the original in the game. I feel like Crimson Glow Valstrax has opened that can of worms, so I'd be open to seeing it happen again with other monsters like Ivory Lagiacrus! I think Barroth could use some time on the bench. Even if this first map screams Barroth. Two monsters that i really want are Celtas Queen and Acidic Glavenus
Seltas Queen HAS to comeback since we have so little insects and Seltas Queen means Seltas comes too and they might actually make for a good horde monster.
Playing Guard weapons one gets soooooo tired of having to farm barroth at every rank in every single game, especially since you are then usually using guard weapons against him. Feels like replaying the tutorial over and over again.
Maybe they ought to consider a new cousin of the Barroth that throws some wrenches into the mix. It's one of my favorites, but you do see an awful lot of it if you like your defense boosts.
Let the old monsters shine, but do add Namielle, Vaal Hazak Safi Jiva and Nergigante. Namielle needs a second chance. Vaal hazak would seem cool and perfect for a open world map. Safi Jiva i just really love. Nergigante is Nergigante, hes badass.
Yea I feel ya! Some of the new Elders can come back and replace some of the classics while they sit on the bench! Monsters that only got to shine during a G rank expansion especially should have a chance to shine in a regular release!
I agree with these, although I'd be fine if Bazelgeuse returned. To be honest, kind of think that Zinogre should take a break for a bit. I mean he's been in every monster hunter game since his introduction. Just like Deviljho, I think it's best to let Zinogre have a small break and then return with a bang. What I'd like to see is Lagiacrus in the spotlight, especially given that we're supposed to be getting a new leviathan in this game.
I feel that I love me some Bazel not gonna lie! With the new Thunder monster that we were teased my first thought was that we didn't need Astalos to come back, but then I thought to myself if they bring back Gammoth all the other 3 are already in 5th gen, so we could get a fated four reunion even though the new monster is already a thunder element flying wyvern. All that being said Zinogre can sit this one out to make way for the ray gun and for Astalos.
@MrBomb-nn9ds True, but I hope it doesn't hurt the chances of other thunder based monsters. I wouldn't want to see things like Lagiacrus or Astalos get robbed of a chance on the roster, but maybe they can be on the roster together in some form eventually.
This is the second time he’s won the poll actually lol. Didn’t stop them from excluding Zinogre from base World, so I think they could still bench him despite his popularity.
I disagree with Bazel not coming back. Even though he was introduced in World, Deviljho stole a lot of the spotlight away from him with Deviljho getting all the turf wars and Bazel getting only one, which was still with Deviljho. And in [Iceborne], Banbaro was introduced as an invader, further crowding the niche. Retiring Deviljho and Rajang instead would be the more interesting option, I think. And with Bazel being a flying invader, there would also be a ton more possible interactions with the weather and the larger maps. I should’ve said this in the video but I’d also want them to introduce a new Invader that’s either a Neopteron or Snake Wyvern. I feel that. He got a lot of shine in both Rise and Sunbreak. His appearance in Iceborne was high level, but once we got him he also was a title update in the form of Stygian.
I so hope Zinogre and Stygian come back in Wilds. Zinogre would make even sense with the fokus on Lightning and all. Also Stygian is my very most favorite Monster with normal Zino coming close behind

Dude yes there are a lot of monsters that haven't see the light of day in a while. Gigginox, Agnaktor, Duramboros, Nibelsnarf, Qurupeco. Just to name a few off the top of my head.
I feel that especially Zinogre more than Tigrex. Zinogre got a Rise Apex and a special cutscene for the Amatsu hunt too. Meanwhile we didn’t get Molten Tigrex or a knock off Grimclaw as an Apex.
In general I prefer it when monsters from the previous game get a break, at least most of them. Time on the bench, like he said. Rise felt like it had too many monsters that were also in World. I know that's how they've always done it, with portable games, hell the first one legit only had 1 new monster and for some reason yian garuga wasn't the flagship. That was out of necessity though, the games had shorter dev cycles and with a smaller roster there wasn't as much to work with back then. Now, with the massive and growing roster we have, it's much easier to have them take turns in the spotlight. Giving a good mix of returning monsters, forgotten gems, redemption arcs, fan favorites, and newcomers. Plesioth would be really fun, jank or less jank. I can't wait to see my friend, who got in with Rise, react to plesioth. Would he have the upgraded/less physics defying tail swipe from MH3U or not. Still hilarious to me that one of the main reasons for MH3U was to put plesioth underwater. I like khezu but gigginox is better and he hasn't shown up since MH3. It's been too dam long. Now, i pray to Gog almighty that they don't waste the assets on baleful. He's just "what if gigginox but more like khezu?" Nobody wants that. I wouldn't be mad if we got both khezu and gigginox though. Let giggis and zamites have small vs. large monster turf wars where they cling and flop on larger monsters in a swarm. Giggis would also have the bonus of poisoning that monster for you, after they drink enoguh blood. Those 2 did their jobs well. Jho would be nice for that and maybe they add a newcomer as an invader. Still hoping qurupeco can summon jho or whoever that newcomer may be. Hell maybe he summons both sometimes and they have a turf war. The more things that bird can call the better. The more monsters that surprise us in game the better. With world and Rise, they showed us too much and i think they know that now. Yeah teo and kush can take a break. Chameleos... Maybe? I would appreciate it if, to make up for World, chameleos was in the game without the other 2. Also, so we can get classic theft back. I hope they bench velkhana for oroshi. Ice unicorn needs some love. I hear you but having diablos could be a good thing to differentiate monoblos. Have normal diablos and give monoblos a total rework to his fight wehre he mixes flight and digging. That way they are their own fights and very different, personality wise, from here on. have monoblos pop out the ground into a flying dive bomb or dive into a dig attack. Make those combos his focus. Lunastra was also single player only but in World she wasn't so, if monoblos is back, he won't be either.

Yea Diablos could stay in to show the differences between him and the reworked Monoblos as a yin to the yang despite both of them having similar roles and locations.
I guess that's because of the whole 'main series/mobile series split', with Rise technically being an interim mobile title. Maybe they worry more about redundancies between the main games.

Monsters I definitely don’t want to see and am definitely tired of is zinogre, nargacuga, tigrex, rajang, diablos, teostra, kushalla, uragaan, jyratodus, basically anything from rise, kulu yaku, barroth, pukie pukie,. Deviljho & anjanath can take a breather and let a spinosaurus monster take the wheel, bazel I feel is weird enough that he’d be fine in wilds vibe, but after that take a break. We’ve now had 2 plague monsters so no gore or malzeno shenanigans. Monsters I want back and more of odogaron, gravios, monoblos, giginox, lagiacrus, espinas & other frontier monsters, gammoth, seregios, seltas & seltas queen, agnaktor, Akantor & Ukanlos, volvidon, snake wyverns, new monsters in general!
I would want Zinogre, Mizutsune, Gore Magala, Alatreon, Val Hazaak, and Fatalis to all return. Sunbreak was my first time fighting Gore Magala and I immediately fell in love with their design. I think their wings looking like a cloak was an insanely badass decision. EDIT: Deviljho too, bring back the terror pickle
Basel is nice but it seems like with the new weather conditions and monsters to go with them. That seems like it’ll do Bazel’s job rather well. Bazel has been featured a lot lately he can sit out a game or two.
Diablos is a staple so he ain’t leaving I also like him more than monoblos but I’d rather have both so we could get a cool turf war and could have a cool side story about them someone I think should return is honestly magnamalo I could definitely see him preying in packs of monsters like he would do with the rampage also he would look awesome with modern graphics
Thing is Diablos has been benched before. In base MH4 and in MH Generations he wasn’t in the game until 4U and GU respectively. Though an interesting side story/quest about Monoblos vs Diablos could be super interesting!
That is a good point, he does hunt by gorging himself of the monsters as they are distracted by the rampage so him hunting a heard of monsters makes sense. They'd have to rework hellfire though, it's functionality is tied to wirebugs right now.
dont forget that monster hunter 4 didnt have a desert map and thats why diablos was benched. Mhg is the only exception probably cause they were saving the big reveal of bloodbath

We've already been teased to get Rathalos, but honestly I have an idea that I plan on making a whole video for here pretty soon that sounds similar to this! We should bench Zinogre. We've already seen the "railgun bird" in MHWilds' 2nd trailer, and Zinogre has been in almost every game since he was introduced.
Yea I feel that too. I kinda feel that way about Astalos too since we have the railgun bird. It would kinda feel redundant to have two electric flying wyverns like that. If we do get Gammoth back and they decide to bring all four of the fated I wouldn't be mad though!
I think legiana and shrieking variant would be perfect for the pack hunting and seperating the alpha gameplay mechanics (i just really love legiana and im finding any excuse to will it into the game)
Oh a rare take most people dislike Legiana from what I remember, but that was mostly due to us not having that many tools as hunter to deal with flight. I bet it wouldn't get as much hate if it was in Rise/Sunbreak where we had Wirebugs to meet it in the air it would get more love! Shrieking would be a great "Alpha" monster for the pack of Legianas so I see it!

To be honest, what i would love is a game where only variants of monsters are included. Like Crimson Glow Valstrax. Give me a game where there's a Fulgur Anjanath but no normal Anja. Or maybe only Green Nargacuga instead of normal Narga. Even a Tigrex variant instead of normal Tigrex. I think monsters that have been in the games more than 3-4 games in a row need to take a back seat. We're talking Zinogre, Tigrex, Nargacuga, as well as some world newcomers like Tobi and Anja. Maybe include the Viper Tobi but not the OG? Idk, i just want the MH team to treat subspecies as subspecies instead of variants. It would make sense ecologically for some forms of one monster to dominate an area over another. I want to see all of the Monsters in Sunbreak make a return because they are all amazing, including Lunagaron and Garangolm. However, i think Gore should take a back seat. That being said, i love the Magalas, but they tend to take the spotlight in the game when they are introduced. I wouldnt mind if Nergigante didnt get back in as well for the same reason. It looks like a lot of monsters with story precense sorta command a lot of respect from players and we sorta put the light on them. Idk i'm rambling with no sense of direction. I'd love to see most of the rise newcomers as well like Aknosnom, Goss Harag, Almudron (yes him. I think his fight would be a lot cooler without wirebugs if slightly tuned), and even Bishaten. He'd a goofy little guy. Ok i'm done rambling.

I know I am commenting a bit later than everyone else but I hope you still see this as I do believe we should swap some monsters out with some more interesting ones from frontiers. I’ll explain what they are since most people haven’t played those games. First instead of having uragaan add Akura Vashimu as it still fits into the rock/crystal theme but is unlikely since it is a scorpion. So Taikun Zamuza would be more likely as it still fits the roll but is a crab. Next I would not bring back Paolumu and add Zamtrios back as it still would have a monster with the puffing up mechanic which is something that not enough monsters have where they can switch between to different modes with drastically different attacks

Also more crabs would most definitely be a plus. It’s a shame we had Zamites in Sunbreak with no Zamtrios so hell yes bring Zamtrios to Wilds as well since it’s a monsters we’ve been thinking about since base Rise.
Its a pretty good armor set in Sunbreak if you use Lance or Gunlance as it has skills that help the shield along with skills that make shelling better on Gunlance.

Here’s the thing, if the don’t bring back Bazel, of which I hope they do, because he’s my favorite. They’ll need to pick a different monster to upgrade the power/armor charms into talons.
Not an issue at all. Before Bazel existed they used Deviljho Talons. In Rise before Bazel was added in the game they used Ibushi Claws to make them. Bazel is great though just been featured a lot recently being two title updates.
Kinda and unpopular opinion but I'd love some Rise monsters. Would especially love to see Magnamalo in the World style and without wirebugs or Lunagaron if there's an ice area
I don’t think that’s as unpopular as you think! I feel like Lunagaron was a fan favorite of Sunbreak. I think people would have to have a game that has both Lunagaron and Odogaron!
Nergigante and Zinogre (always hated these two especially zinogre because he always annoyed me) and just the well known ones like Diablos and tigrex, they need a pause. Another one is uragaan, please just not that one
I wouldn’t mind seeing Nergigante again since he was in Rise or Sunbreak at all. I’d love to see him interact with more Elders, so we can get a better grip on where he sits as far as scaling goes. Zinogre is MAD popular, but he’s been appearing a lot and has special treatment (Deviant/Apex.) I don’t mind Uragaan that’s probably because I prefer blunt weapons so busting his chin is my job.
Nergi hasn't shown up since World and his fighting style I think would fit the large open spaces of Wilds. Zinogre though, I totally agree. Sure he's cool and all, but he's far too overrated for being a basic-ass lighting wolf. Stygian is neat tho.
I really hope they decide to bench most of the conventional monsters in general so they can introduce new monsters or bring back some old favorites that haven’t gotten a lot of love recently
I'm both excited and worried about Wilds. It's exciting cause it's freaking Monster Hunter, and i have yet to see a bad game from this franchise, and this one has already shown crazy designs and realism with the environment. But these same things are also why I'm worried. The trailers make this game look very similar to World, more intense and more serious, and as a result, they basically canned a ton of the more wild and creative monsters. Like with games that look this intense and serious, i can't see them adding fun monsters like Kecha Wacha or my boy Qurupeco (who I'd love to see return as Deviljho's summoner).
I think they're going for a difficult type of crazy design. Looking at Balahara it just looks so alien compared to everything we've had before. The only returning monster we have confirmed is Rathalos. Its possible they could make some of the goofier monsters work in the game. All thats left to do is wait and see.
@Jaycan I hope so. They aren't a big deal, but goofy monsters are always beloved. As for monsters, that definitely need to sit out a bit, I vote Teo, Kushala, and the Magala's I get they're popular, but we have like several dozen Elder Dragons that'd be awesome to see return. (And those Dragon Ships in the trailers give me hope to see Jhen return.)
As much as I love nargacuga, I want him to take a break. I would like nerscyla to come back and take it's place, or even a new monster that fits the roll. I love my jaguar bat, but I miss my giant speedy spider.
Hell yes Nercylla would be dope as hell to see return. Along with a new Spider to go with them both would be so perfect to me. Its strange how little spider/arachnid type monsters we have!

Interesting takes! I do think another monster could do the job that Teostra’s armor does. A hybrid arena for Lagiacrus sounds like a bonb ass idea. Other monsters like Plesioth could use it as well!
I agree with all besides rajang, diablos, and big bomber boi, I just feel diablos and monoblos would be cool turf wars and rajang would be so cool to see rush across the open plains if the game is as open as I think. And I am probably one of the few people that love bazel, I just think he fits the setting well.
I've only played the gen 5 games, mostly World, so I don't really know that many of the older monsters, but I'd really like to see more insect designs. I think they're cool, and that'd be more interesting to me than _another_ giant lizard or _another_ giant lizard that flies.
I feel like world/iceborne was the heavily elder dragon focused game. It would be cool if Wilds had a deeper non-elder roster. Wouldn’t mind benching a good number of the old dragons
It could kind of have a base Rise sort of feel when we only had 1 elder then we got 2.0 update which brought the trio and Bazel. Of course have the game feel a lot more complete as well since no pandemic.
Zinogre is literally my fifth favorite monster in the series because his fight is that enjoyable, but I'd be perfectly okay with him sitting out Wilds and its DLC to give a spot to another flagship that doesn't get as much attention (Seregios please?) or a brand new monster. I also agree with benching the Dos Elder Dragon trio. Yes, it means Chameleos doesn't get to come back, but when they do come back I think Chameleos shouldn't be left out anymore. For the final monster in the game, although I like Fatalis, he shouldn't be it. Fatalis is a frequent attendee to the series, and he's cool, but I think the final title update monster should be a different giant elder dragon amped up with some of the spectacle that Fatalis got, and that's Gogmazios. I want to see Gogmazios as the final title update monster in the game this time.
Amazing takes all around! Seregios returning bringing a variant or a subspecies please! Yea there are other final boss monsters that have been gone a while that deserve a chance to shine in a modern game. Yama tsukami, Gogmazios, Nakarkos just to name a few. If they HAVE to do a Fatalis choose a different one. Crimson or Old!
i feel completely alone on this take, but i dont really want anything to return. i hope everything is new. if i really want to fight an old monster id go play that game. every game should have its own identity and monsters. fighting the same monster in every game feels lame

Potentially hot take: I think Zinogre could do with some time on the bench. I know he's super popular, but we've seen a LOT of thunder pup over the years. Portable 3rd, 3U, 4/4U, G/GU, Iceborne, and Rise/Sunbreak... I think it's time for Rey Dau to take its place as the big-bad thunder monster in Wilds, and maybe have another big dog in a different elemental niche.

Its not that weird to ask for. Others here in thie comment section have already asked for it. With them confirming that swimming is not in the game that kills Abyssal Lagiacruz, Ceadeus, Goldbeard Ceadeus, Dire Miralis, and Gobul(To a lesser extent).
Though I agree with your point on bazelgeuse and rajang, I think it would be interesting if they threw out either one of them to keep the other and I would love to see a deviljho comeback

Wilds is like a savanna/safari themed yes? why not bring back Rangurotora, Doboruberuku, Cephadrome, Monoblos and White Monoblos, Daimyo Hermitaur, Plesioth, the Freedom Era Dromes, Gypceros, Hypnocatrice, The Mohrans, Yian Kut-ku, Vespoid Queen, Akantor... there are tons of monsters that deserves the comeback. Give us Old World Monster into the New World! Edit: I forgot to mention normal and Crimson Qurupeco, Niblesnarf and Sand Barioth.
None. All of them are good unique designs. There's monsters I hate fighting. But there's none I HATE fighting. Nothing but love for the game and its critters.
I feel you, but we can’t ask them to jam in 200+ monsters in a single game especially when they’re doing so much to change the feel of the structure and map design of the game already. Some monsters are gonna have to hit the bench for a lil bit like usual.

Honestly id like to see about half of gen 4 and 3 (so agnaktor, zamtrios, nerscylla, narjarala, gobul and lagiacrus can make a comeback) roster and gen 1, 2 and 5 just take a major backseat
Fr tho, Teo and Kush can take a break yes. However the arguments for velkhana, nergigante and shagaru kinds falls flat for the reason of story. Velkhana was a central thing for worlds story and even was stated to be so rare that the guilds only ever have a few myths of it. Nergigante is more plausible to be in wilds but at the same time makes more sense as a title update monster. I personally think we need fresh new faces for an elder trio
Eh I’m not buying the whole story argument thing for those Elders. We got Velkhana and all the Magalas in Sunbreak who played little role in the story as a whole. Nergigante does make sense as a title update pick though! I’d want him earlier rather than later since the updates tend to get more and more crazy as time goes on. Like if he was Title Update 1 or 2.

I think we’re really likely to get Barroth, Diablos (maybe also Monoblos), Basarios (and also maybe Gravios), and Tigrex. As for hopes, Najarala I think would be great, same with Zinogre, Narga, Nakarkos, Glavenus, or Astalos. As for monsters I don’t want back, I’m fine without Jyuratodus, Tobi, Aknosom, Tetranadon, and Lavasioth.
I think Odie should make a return. If this is in the same New World as World, it would make sense for a scavenger to range out to more pastures, so to speak. I would love to be in a hunt, and just hear, faintly, on the wind, the Rotten Vale battle theme (i.e. Odie's theme), and then his roar. Boom! Low rank invader time

I could not agree more about Kushala and Teostra, as of the end of fifth gen there are around 12 total low tier elder dragons and if they choose teo and kush AGAIN I will legitimately be upset. Imagine having the elder trio being Namielle, Nergigante, and Valstrax for example.
Yea at this point we just have so many different Elder Dragons. We could honestly bench all three of the OGs and still have plenty of elders to go around and fill the niche that those three typically serve.
I really miss Akantor and Ukanlos, they were some of the most memorable monsters for me. Plus bringing back something like Gammoth would be cool. Also, Lao Shan Lung's grown up form is something we're overdue for!
Honestly, I want a new invader. Jho was in world, and prior to that it was in GU as well. It really only took a break for Rise, so I'm fine with him being benched for one more game. The roster of invaders is short and we need more.
My biggest regret in making this video is that I neglected to mention that along with Jho’s return I’d like a new high level invader monsters that’s a Neopteron or a Snake Wyvern!
This might be a bit of a hot take, but I'd actually prefer Oroshi Kirin over Velkhana. Now, I love both of theae monsters, but when I picked up 4u and tried fighting Orosho Kirin, I was ao underwhelming. The thing only has four moves: charging, kicking, summoning three ice pillars in a really predictable pattern and summoning a line of ice in an even more predictable pattern. They really need an updated moveset and I'm hoping Wilds can do them that justice. Or maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about because I haven't fought it in G-rank yet. Also, they should bring back the deviant monsters. Dreadking Rathalos and Dreadqueen rathian would be great replacements for their metallic counterparts.
I love it. I wanted Title Update 4 for Sunbreak to be Oroshi Kirin instead of Velkhana actually! Yea they would give it an updated move set and have it use the ice more creatively for sure!
First rajang entrance in rise was amazing second bazelguese in world scared the crap out of me when he cam crashing down and third, bring back lagiacrus
The "Everyone is here" MH game was Monster Hunter XX/Generations Ultimate. That was the closest weve had, mainly only excluding the chinese team monsters
I'm very familiar with Generations Ultimate and I wouldn't say it only excluded Chinese team monsters. I think there is like 10-20 main monsters that are just not in Generations Ultimate excluding subspecies. Still a huge and deep roster for sure.
For me, it would have to be Rathalos and Rathian. They've been in every game since the start and the way I fight them hasn't changed since. I would a break from them or a complete overhaul of them.
Did you fight Rathalos in Rise & Sunbreak? I felt like that was a pretty big departure from what we usually get when it comes to Rathalos. I found him much more fun to fight in Sunbreak and Rise.
I want a roster like Gen Ult where they just add a butt-ton of monsters that way we can have a ton of new ones while having a couple old ones like my boi Zinogre.

Those elder dragons are common elder dragons. Kind of like how rathlos, rathian, and diablos are staples to the game because they are common monsters. Taking away either is a big no no. Now, what I do suggest is adding more variety of elder dragons to the roster
Monoblos and Diablos being in the same game would be good for both monsters, as their fights would have to be greatly changed in order to further differentiate them

I am ok with Bazelgeuse not being in the game but I like the stalker mechanic, I hope we get a new monster with the same role instead of the same old Deviljho or even the Bazelgeuse. But the concept in itself of a monster hunting other monsters and clashing with the hunter, or even a monster actively searching for YOU, is cool as hell.

put everyone who made it in the 5th gen on the bench, including the brand new monsters. I definitely don't want to see kulu ya ku or tobi kadachi come back(even though i love them). And let the older monsters shine. Najarala, nerscylla, agnaktor, seltas queen, gammoth, congalala, blangonga, lagi, giginnox, duramboros etc. They're great monsters, they deserve to be reintroduced to the newer fanbase as well in all the 6th gen glory. I agree about diablos/monoblos. Monoblos is the og horny desert wyvern, I'd love to see it return. And for all the hate plesioth gets, i hope it comes back and they double down on the hip checks lol

I want Ivory Lagiacrus to return, but I do not want base species Lagiacrus in a game without deep water as base species Lagiacrus is directly stated to not have the ability to use it's electricity on land while Ivory can. It also offers the opportunity to make Ivory more visually distinct from Base then just being a recolour, it could even have a more erect leg posture to reflect its better land mobility.
I also just really like the idea of base species being subbed out for an existing or new subspecies/relative species every once in a while to at least imply ranges. I would even further want base species to get a subspecies adjective even if the adjective is just "common" (as in "common Lagiacrus" it could and should be more creative, but this is a very real option that could be employed if no other good alternatives exist) as this is in line with real life animal naming conventions.
I've actually made a whole video on this very subject a while back! The idea that some monsters' subspecies or variants can show up without having the original in the game. I feel like Crimson Glow Valstrax has opened that can of worms, so I'd be open to seeing it happen again with other monsters like Ivory Lagiacrus! I think Barroth could use some time on the bench. Even if this first map screams Barroth. Two monsters that i really want are Celtas Queen and Acidic Glavenus
Seltas Queen HAS to comeback since we have so little insects and Seltas Queen means Seltas comes too and they might actually make for a good horde monster.
Playing Guard weapons one gets soooooo tired of having to farm barroth at every rank in every single game, especially since you are then usually using guard weapons against him. Feels like replaying the tutorial over and over again.
Maybe they ought to consider a new cousin of the Barroth that throws some wrenches into the mix. It's one of my favorites, but you do see an awful lot of it if you like your defense boosts.
Let the old monsters shine, but do add Namielle, Vaal Hazak Safi Jiva and Nergigante. Namielle needs a second chance. Vaal hazak would seem cool and perfect for a open world map. Safi Jiva i just really love. Nergigante is Nergigante, hes badass.
Yea I feel ya! Some of the new Elders can come back and replace some of the classics while they sit on the bench! Monsters that only got to shine during a G rank expansion especially should have a chance to shine in a regular release!
With these maps having phases Vaal's home map could have a phase where effluvium spreads across it, just a question of base or Black Veil.

I agree with these, although I'd be fine if Bazelgeuse returned. To be honest, kind of think that Zinogre should take a break for a bit. I mean he's been in every monster hunter game since his introduction. Just like Deviljho, I think it's best to let Zinogre have a small break and then return with a bang. What I'd like to see is Lagiacrus in the spotlight, especially given that we're supposed to be getting a new leviathan in this game.
I feel that I love me some Bazel not gonna lie! With the new Thunder monster that we were teased my first thought was that we didn't need Astalos to come back, but then I thought to myself if they bring back Gammoth all the other 3 are already in 5th gen, so we could get a fated four reunion even though the new monster is already a thunder element flying wyvern. All that being said Zinogre can sit this one out to make way for the ray gun and for Astalos.

This is the second time he’s won the poll actually lol. Didn’t stop them from excluding Zinogre from base World, so I think they could still bench him despite his popularity.
I disagree with Bazel not coming back. Even though he was introduced in World, Deviljho stole a lot of the spotlight away from him with Deviljho getting all the turf wars and Bazel getting only one, which was still with Deviljho. And in [Iceborne], Banbaro was introduced as an invader, further crowding the niche. Retiring Deviljho and Rajang instead would be the more interesting option, I think. And with Bazel being a flying invader, there would also be a ton more possible interactions with the weather and the larger maps. Are you really sure you don't want to see a turf war between the Bombardment and Railgun Wyverns?

I feel that. He got a lot of shine in both Rise and Sunbreak. His appearance in Iceborne was high level, but once we got him he also was a title update in the form of Stygian.
I so hope Zinogre and Stygian come back in Wilds. Zinogre would make even sense with the fokus on Lightning and all. Also Stygian is my very most favorite Monster with normal Zino coming close behind

I feel that especially Zinogre more than Tigrex. Zinogre got a Rise Apex and a special cutscene for the Amatsu hunt too. Meanwhile we didn’t get Molten Tigrex or a knock off Grimclaw as an Apex.
In general I prefer it when monsters from the previous game get a break, at least most of them. Time on the bench, like he said. Rise felt like it had too many monsters that were also in World. I know that's how they've always done it, with portable games, hell the first one legit only had 1 new monster and for some reason yian garuga wasn't the flagship. That was out of necessity though, the games had shorter dev cycles and with a smaller roster there wasn't as much to work with back then. Now, with the massive and growing roster we have, it's much easier to have them take turns in the spotlight. Giving a good mix of returning monsters, forgotten gems, redemption arcs, fan favorites, and newcomers.
Plesioth would be really fun, jank or less jank. I can't wait to see my friend, who got in with Rise, react to plesioth. Would he have the upgraded/less physics defying tail swipe from MH3U or not. Still hilarious to me that one of the main reasons for MH3U was to put plesioth underwater.
I like khezu but gigginox is better and he hasn't shown up since MH3. It's been too dam long. Now, i pray to Gog almighty that they don't waste the assets on baleful. He's just "what if gigginox but more like khezu?" Nobody wants that. I wouldn't be mad if we got both khezu and gigginox though. Let giggis and zamites have small vs. large monster turf wars where they cling and flop on larger monsters in a swarm. Giggis would also have the bonus of poisoning that monster for you, after they drink enoguh blood.
Those 2 did their jobs well. Jho would be nice for that and maybe they add a newcomer as an invader. Still hoping qurupeco can summon jho or whoever that newcomer may be. Hell maybe he summons both sometimes and they have a turf war. The more things that bird can call the better. The more monsters that surprise us in game the better. With world and Rise, they showed us too much and i think they know that now.
Yeah teo and kush can take a break. Chameleos... Maybe? I would appreciate it if, to make up for World, chameleos was in the game without the other 2. Also, so we can get classic theft back.
I hope they bench velkhana for oroshi. Ice unicorn needs some love.
I hear you but having diablos could be a good thing to differentiate monoblos. Have normal diablos and give monoblos a total rework to his fight wehre he mixes flight and digging. That way they are their own fights and very different, personality wise, from here on. have monoblos pop out the ground into a flying dive bomb or dive into a dig attack. Make those combos his focus. Lunastra was also single player only but in World she wasn't so, if monoblos is back, he won't be either.
Man every single point here is something I resonate with. I've made a whole video about Qurupeco returning as well. Oroshi Kirin love is needed. Yea Diablos could stay in to show the differences between him and the reworked Monoblos as a yin to the yang despite both of them having similar roles and locations.
I guess that's because of the whole 'main series/mobile series split', with Rise technically being an interim mobile title. Maybe they worry more about redundancies between the main games.

Monsters I definitely don’t want to see and am definitely tired of is zinogre, nargacuga, tigrex, rajang, diablos, teostra, kushalla, uragaan, jyratodus, basically anything from rise, kulu yaku, barroth, pukie pukie,. Deviljho & anjanath can take a breather and let a spinosaurus monster take the wheel, bazel I feel is weird enough that he’d be fine in wilds vibe, but after that take a break.
We’ve now had 2 plague monsters so no gore or malzeno shenanigans.

I would want Zinogre, Mizutsune, Gore Magala, Alatreon, Val Hazaak, and Fatalis to all return. Sunbreak was my first time fighting Gore Magala and I immediately fell in love with their design. I think their wings looking like a cloak was an insanely badass decision.

Diablos is a staple so he ain’t leaving I also like him more than monoblos but I’d rather have both so we could get a cool turf war and could have a cool side story about them someone I think should return is honestly magnamalo I could definitely see him preying in packs of monsters like he would do with the rampage also he would look awesome with modern graphics
Thing is Diablos has been benched before. In base MH4 and in MH Generations he wasn’t in the game until 4U and GU respectively. Though an interesting side story/quest about Monoblos vs Diablos could be super interesting!
That is a good point, he does hunt by gorging himself of the monsters as they are distracted by the rampage so him hunting a heard of monsters makes sense. They'd have to rework hellfire though, it's functionality is tied to wirebugs right now.
dont forget that monster hunter 4 didnt have a desert map and thats why diablos was benched. Mhg is the only exception probably cause they were saving the big reveal of bloodbath

We should bench Zinogre. We've already seen the "railgun bird" in MHWilds' 2nd trailer, and Zinogre has been in almost every game since he was introduced.
Yea I feel that too. I kinda feel that way about Astalos too since we have the railgun bird. It would kinda feel redundant to have two electric flying wyverns like that. If we do get Gammoth back and they decide to bring all four of the fated I wouldn't be mad though!
I think legiana and shrieking variant would be perfect for the pack hunting and seperating the alpha gameplay mechanics (i just really love legiana and im finding any excuse to will it into the game)
Oh a rare take most people dislike Legiana from what I remember, but that was mostly due to us not having that many tools as hunter to deal with flight. I bet it wouldn't get as much hate if it was in Rise/Sunbreak where we had Wirebugs to meet it in the air it would get more love! Shrieking would be a great "Alpha" monster for the pack of Legianas so I see it!

I think monsters that have been in the games more than 3-4 games in a row need to take a back seat. We're talking Zinogre, Tigrex, Nargacuga, as well as some world newcomers like Tobi and Anja. Maybe include the Viper Tobi but not the OG? Idk, i just want the MH team to treat subspecies as subspecies instead of variants. It would make sense ecologically for some forms of one monster to dominate an area over another.
I want to see all of the Monsters in Sunbreak make a return because they are all amazing, including Lunagaron and Garangolm. However, i think Gore should take a back seat. That being said, i love the Magalas, but they tend to take the spotlight in the game when they are introduced. I wouldnt mind if Nergigante didnt get back in as well for the same reason. It looks like a lot of monsters with story precense sorta command a lot of respect from players and we sorta put the light on them.

I know I am commenting a bit later than everyone else but I hope you still see this as I do believe we should swap some monsters out with some more interesting ones from frontiers. I’ll explain what they are since most people haven’t played those games.
First instead of having uragaan add Akura Vashimu as it still fits into the rock/crystal theme but is unlikely since it is a scorpion. So Taikun Zamuza would be more likely as it still fits the roll but is a crab.
Next I would not bring back Paolumu and add Zamtrios back as it still would have a monster with the puffing up mechanic which is something that not enough monsters have where they can switch between to different modes with drastically different attacks

Its a pretty good armor set in Sunbreak if you use Lance or Gunlance as it has skills that help the shield along with skills that make shelling better on Gunlance.

Here’s the thing, if the don’t bring back Bazel, of which I hope they do, because he’s my favorite. They’ll need to pick a different monster to upgrade the power/armor charms into talons.
Not an issue at all. Before Bazel existed they used Deviljho Talons. In Rise before Bazel was added in the game they used Ibushi Claws to make them. Bazel is great though just been featured a lot recently being two title updates.
Kinda and unpopular opinion but I'd love some Rise monsters. Would especially love to see Magnamalo in the World style and without wirebugs or Lunagaron if there's an ice area
I don’t think that’s as unpopular as you think! I feel like Lunagaron was a fan favorite of Sunbreak. I think people would have to have a game that has both Lunagaron and Odogaron!
Nergigante and Zinogre (always hated these two especially zinogre because he always annoyed me) and just the well known ones like Diablos and tigrex, they need a pause.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Nergigante again since he was in Rise or Sunbreak at all. I’d love to see him interact with more Elders, so we can get a better grip on where he sits as far as scaling goes. Zinogre is MAD popular, but he’s been appearing a lot and has special treatment (Deviant/Apex.) I don’t mind Uragaan that’s probably because I prefer blunt weapons so busting his chin is my job.
Nergi hasn't shown up since World and his fighting style I think would fit the large open spaces of Wilds. Zinogre though, I totally agree. Sure he's cool and all, but he's far too overrated for being a basic-ass lighting wolf. Stygian is neat tho.

I'm both excited and worried about Wilds. It's exciting cause it's freaking Monster Hunter, and i have yet to see a bad game from this franchise, and this one has already shown crazy designs and realism with the environment. But these same things are also why I'm worried. The trailers make this game look very similar to World, more intense and more serious, and as a result, they basically canned a ton of the more wild and creative monsters. Like with games that look this intense and serious, i can't see them adding fun monsters like Kecha Wacha or my boy Qurupeco (who I'd love to see return as Deviljho's summoner).
I think they're going for a difficult type of crazy design. Looking at Balahara it just looks so alien compared to everything we've had before. The only returning monster we have confirmed is Rathalos. Its possible they could make some of the goofier monsters work in the game. All thats left to do is wait and see.
@Jaycan I hope so. They aren't a big deal, but goofy monsters are always beloved. As for monsters, that definitely need to sit out a bit, I vote Teo, Kushala, and the Magala's I get they're popular, but we have like several dozen Elder Dragons that'd be awesome to see return.
(And those Dragon Ships in the trailers give me hope to see Jhen return.)

Zinogre is literally my fifth favorite monster in the series because his fight is that enjoyable, but I'd be perfectly okay with him sitting out Wilds and its DLC to give a spot to another flagship that doesn't get as much attention (Seregios please?) or a brand new monster. I also agree with benching the Dos Elder Dragon trio. Yes, it means Chameleos doesn't get to come back, but when they do come back I think Chameleos shouldn't be left out anymore. For the final monster in the game, although I like Fatalis, he shouldn't be it. Fatalis is a frequent attendee to the series, and he's cool, but I think the final title update monster should be a different giant elder dragon amped up with some of the spectacle that Fatalis got, and that's Gogmazios. I want to see Gogmazios as the final title update monster in the game this time.
Amazing takes all around! Seregios returning bringing a variant or a subspecies please! Yea there are other final boss monsters that have been gone a while that deserve a chance to shine in a modern game. Yama tsukami, Gogmazios, Nakarkos just to name a few. If they HAVE to do a Fatalis choose a different one. Crimson or Old!

Its not that weird to ask for. Others here in thie comment section have already asked for it. With them confirming that swimming is not in the game that kills Abyssal Lagiacruz, Ceadeus, Goldbeard Ceadeus, Dire Miralis, and Gobul(To a lesser extent).

Wilds is like a savanna/safari themed yes? why not bring back Rangurotora, Doboruberuku, Cephadrome, Monoblos and White Monoblos, Daimyo Hermitaur, Plesioth, the Freedom Era Dromes, Gypceros, Hypnocatrice, The Mohrans, Yian Kut-ku, Vespoid Queen, Akantor... there are tons of monsters that deserves the comeback. Give us Old World Monster into the New World!

Fr tho, Teo and Kush can take a break yes. However the arguments for velkhana, nergigante and shagaru kinds falls flat for the reason of story. Velkhana was a central thing for worlds story and even was stated to be so rare that the guilds only ever have a few myths of it. Nergigante is more plausible to be in wilds but at the same time makes more sense as a title update monster. I personally think we need fresh new faces for an elder trio
Eh I’m not buying the whole story argument thing for those Elders. We got Velkhana and all the Magalas in Sunbreak who played little role in the story as a whole. Nergigante does make sense as a title update pick though! I’d want him earlier rather than later since the updates tend to get more and more crazy as time goes on. Like if he was Title Update 1 or 2.
As much as I love the exploding kamakaze bird I would like to see another monster be the intro to high rank. Hopefully maybe even a new one

I think we’re really likely to get Barroth, Diablos (maybe also Monoblos), Basarios (and also maybe Gravios), and Tigrex.
As for hopes, Najarala I think would be great, same with Zinogre, Narga, Nakarkos, Glavenus, or Astalos.
As for monsters I don’t want back, I’m fine without Jyuratodus, Tobi, Aknosom, Tetranadon, and Lavasioth.
Najarala would be amazing since I'm pretty sure we're going to be getting new snakes as well to go with!
I think Odie should make a return. If this is in the same New World as World, it would make sense for a scavenger to range out to more pastures, so to speak.
I would love to be in a hunt, and just hear, faintly, on the wind, the Rotten Vale battle theme (i.e. Odie's theme), and then his roar. Boom! Low rank invader time

I could not agree more about Kushala and Teostra, as of the end of fifth gen there are around 12 total low tier elder dragons and if they choose teo and kush AGAIN I will legitimately be upset. Imagine having the elder trio being Namielle, Nergigante, and Valstrax for example.
I wouldn't call Valstrax 'low-tier' but I totally agree.
Yea at this point we just have so many different Elder Dragons. We could honestly bench all three of the OGs and still have plenty of elders to go around and fill the niche that those three typically serve.

I really miss Akantor and Ukanlos, they were some of the most memorable monsters for me. Plus bringing back something like Gammoth would be cool. Also, Lao Shan Lung's grown up form is something we're overdue for!

Honestly, I want a new invader. Jho was in world, and prior to that it was in GU as well. It really only took a break for Rise, so I'm fine with him being benched for one more game. The roster of invaders is short and we need more.

This might be a bit of a hot take, but I'd actually prefer Oroshi Kirin over Velkhana. Now, I love both of theae monsters, but when I picked up 4u and tried fighting Orosho Kirin, I was ao underwhelming. The thing only has four moves: charging, kicking, summoning three ice pillars in a really predictable pattern and summoning a line of ice in an even more predictable pattern. They really need an updated moveset and I'm hoping Wilds can do them that justice. Or maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about because I haven't fought it in G-rank yet. Also, they should bring back the deviant monsters. Dreadking Rathalos and Dreadqueen rathian would be great replacements for their metallic counterparts.
I love it. I wanted Title Update 4 for Sunbreak to be Oroshi Kirin instead of Velkhana actually! Yea they would give it an updated move set and have it use the ice more creatively for sure!
First rajang entrance in rise was amazing second bazelguese in world scared the crap out of me when he cam crashing down and third, bring back lagiacrus

The "Everyone is here" MH game was Monster Hunter XX/Generations Ultimate. That was the closest weve had, mainly only excluding the chinese team monsters
I'm very familiar with Generations Ultimate and I wouldn't say it only excluded Chinese team monsters. I think there is like 10-20 main monsters that are just not in Generations Ultimate excluding subspecies. Still a huge and deep roster for sure.
I would like to see Gogmazios to return some way I really liked the fight and the design of them.
Oh yea Gogmazios with modern technology would be incredible no doubt! The arena with the train tracks the dragonator lodged in its back. Man
For me, it would have to be Rathalos and Rathian. They've been in every game since the start and the way I fight them hasn't changed since. I would a break from them or a complete overhaul of them.
Did you fight Rathalos in Rise & Sunbreak? I felt like that was a pretty big departure from what we usually get when it comes to Rathalos. I found him much more fun to fight in Sunbreak and Rise.
Just a caveat, if Deviljho comes back, can it come with a Quropeco? Want to see Quropeco call out Jho like it used to in 3 tri.

I didn't say it in the video, but I'm hoping they make a new elder level insect (Temnoceran or Neopteron) Invader to replace whoever they bench while taking Jho off the bench.
We need Forokururu, Barlagual, Akura Vashimu, Anorupatisu, Pokeradon, Poborubarumu, Inagami from Frontier; Ceaserber and Lightenna from Online and Eo Gerudia, Nef Garmat and Morudumunto from Explore!
