During the Scarlet Forest livestream at TGS it was shown that it seems like RNG Decorations are coming back to Monster Hunter Wilds. This revelation was the source of much discourse, but ultimately I think there is too much we don't know about how RNG decorations will be implemented into Monster Hunter Wilds.

Oh I wouldn’t recommend Fatalis GS unless you bring Fortify and plan to die on every Escaton Judgement.

As someone who's a huge fan of MH for a long time now but only started playing since World, i want to hunt somethin completely new or something REALLY old, i'm super hyped for Congalala and Yian-Kut-Ku, maybe some old Flying Wyverns like Akantor or Ukanlos would be epic, im hoping for Lagiacrus my all time favorite Leviathan and the reason i got into MH in the first place
Oh yea I feel this. There isn’t a single monster where if it’s not in I won’t buy. Whatever they decide for the roster I’m good with. There are monsters I’d like to see skip this one, but if they show up again I won’t throw a fit or anything. I’m just excited for more Monster Hunter!

i still don’t understand why Odo was left out of of Rise. he was such a perfect fit… and yeah, Jho’s tail eating seems to just be a myth that people just misremembered. he doesn’t actually do it. yet, at least. also, the way you pronounce “carrion” sounds like you’re saying “carry ON,” like you’re talking about luggage 😂. it’s just pronounced like CARRY-un or CARRY-in, fyi.
My pronunciation might be a regional thing lol I’m surrounded by Texans all day! I’ve always heard it as carry on around here haha.

I don't know about red odo I think they might be a veil exclusive but I could easily see them adding Ebony or even a new subspecies. You know what they could even make a Divergent species like radobaan
Oh yea I feel that. Others have mentioned that Odo is pretty exclusive to the Vale and the Coral highlands, but I do think he could work in other locales if Capcom wanted him to.

FUNGUS would be amazing though we do already kinda have that with Blackveil Val Hazak I think they could do it much differently this go around!
I hope they bring back the old formula they use to use with the older games where every monster from the last game is in the new game, no cuts. I hope they do that with World and Rise, since theyre basically the same engine, all they need to do is literally copy and paste, but im sure theres the people here that act like theres more to it than just that when there's really not. Game developers are just lazy and want to do the bare minimum.
That’s not true. World and Rise are different engines. World is MT Framework and Rise is the RE Engine. Taking monsters from Rise would probably be easier since Wilds is also on the RE engine but going from MT Framework to Re Engine would probably take some work. You speak like you’ve made some games before so do you code? Edit: they also cut monsters going from one game to the next all the time. Rajang isn’t in Tri, Lagiacrus isn’t in 4, and Gore Magala isn’t in 5(World).
I think Deviljho should take a hiatus from the game. Edit: A scavenger vulture monster would awesome in my opinion.

Odogaron isn’t coming back. They already said this by implying that some monsters will forever be new world exclusives
Let’s look at the list of World monsters Anjanath Bazelgeuse Dodogama Great Girros Great Jagras Jyratodus Kulu-ya-ku Kulve Taroth Legiana Odogaron Nergigante Paolumu Pukei pukei Radobaan Tobi Kadatchi Tzitzi-ya-ku Vaal Hazak Xenojiva Zorah Magdaros Some of those have already returned in Rise. Some of those are pretty obviously not returning anytime soon, but you’re 100% sure about Odogaron which is just a regular monster when they’ve already brought back some regular monsters.
Some weirdos, bless their hearts, will be sad that they can't see inside the monsters' models and make jokes about it being like a house with grassy floors. I am curious about the conversion of monster copses to bone piles. Traditionally, bone piles have had the same loot pool of bones they can drop specific to the locale and rank of the hunt. Locales may have a unique drop of 1 specific kind of bone, and the rest are mostly rank dependent or some maps may be later game and have better ones. I wonder if the drops or drop rares will change depending on what made the bone pile. Was it a normal static bone pile, if they still have those, was it a small monster, or was it a large monster? Will those change what you will get in any way? There are also traditionally bone types for tiers of monsters, that you only get from quest rewards. Will those be in large monsters' bone piles? I would love to see a crow or vulture like pack monster flying wyvern. I've wanted a pack leader flying wyvern ever since I saw the wingdrakes. Malzeno deprived me of my vampire bat swarm drome monster so come Capcom. Heck, make it bird wyvenr that is more birdlike like malfestio. Looking for a new classification, reclassify malfestio and this new monster as avian or something. Malfestio has no scales as material drops so it's more bird like too. I think his confusion is said to be scale dust or something but maybe not. If it was you would think there would be like an inert one as a material like blade scales on seregios. We could have a flock for Wilds, like kut ku's looking like, of bird monsters or a classic drome with small monsters. Great girros is said to be a scavenger too but he's more specialized for the vale, in both his gills and how he has a status that eveyrthing in the vale is weak to so they don't die out. Odogaron's just specialized for the dark. Maybe he comes at night or is in caves. Odogaron has eyes and can see but very poorly, so he used his nose. 3:21 his eye's right there, nice close up shot of it. Odo does go to the highlands thought but they could flesh him out as nocternal, like how we want them to do for nargacuga. Viper tobi kadachi is not a scavenger but he will also take meat from his kills to his nest to eat it safely. More interactions like this would be cool. Jhow would be fun regardless, he's just a great time. Even better with qurupeco though.
Oh yea Querpeco encances Jho so much, but we haven't seen him since. Oh yea a crow/vulture pack would be SICK! They did say that there will still be the normal static bone pile as well. We've got to wait and see what becomes of those bone piles if anything!
If odo comes back I’d rather it be ebony just so that it isn’t so tied to the Rotten Vale
Someone else here has mentioned that! Maybe they could bring subspecies without the base similar to how Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax came without base Valstrax.

Imagine an odogaron stalking you from the shadows while you are hunting monsters throughout the environment, waiting for you to kill the monster to swoop in and steal the carcass for itself before you can carve it.
Then you’ve got to chase it down and maybe trap it or flash bomb it so you can get your carves from the carcass!
I think the closer we can get to a spin-off monster filling this role is Morudomunto (from Explore), as it will eat any and everything to have the nutrients to produce it's secretions
Oh nice. I’ve got to look them up and see! Idk about explore monsters coming to mainline though. I’ve heard the copyrights are kind of a mess.

I mean odagoron is one of the most popular monsters from world wich is currently the latest game and the one that brought monster hunter into the mainstream more than any other. I think there is a good chance we’ll get the big red dog again
"world wich is currently the latest game" Rise: Sunbreak is the latest game. You never know what kind of plans Capcom has for the monster roster this time. Back in Tri we barely got any returning monsters they could go for something like that again with this one!

@@Jaycan I don’t know, it’s kinda the sequel to world. And I also feel he’s more on the level of fan favorite up there with rathalos as opposed to odogaron who was just introduced in world. But what do I know. Maybe they aren’t paying attention to what monsters players like and what makes sense at all.
Yea it’s tough to really get a feel for what Capcom is choosing. I mean Yian Kut-Ku is a real OG, but I wouldn’t say it’s anyone’s favorite.
Deviljho would be a big possibility mainly due that pickle of a dinosaur can live anywhere. but odogaron was very specific where it lived which was 2 places that was the embodiment of life and death. Plus while yeah both can scavenge if the need arises but they are both known hunters otherwise they wouldn't pick fights with other monsters. Also last thing deviljho eating his own tail was completely debucked and was confrimed to be not true. Cause supposedly it was originally shown during mh tri but what the deviljho was actually eating was a piece of meat that its tail just happened to land on after getting cut off.
Btw 3rd thing I brought up odogaron has fought monsters such as legiana and val hazak and any monster that's willing to pick a fight with elder dragon can mean business
Ah thats a fair point! I just thought about these two monsters because we've seen them actually scavenge in the game. You could say the same about Quematrice too since they fight against the small scavenger monsters too. Oh yea I know about the meat trick to make it look like Jho eats his tail!

I never understood the obsession with Deviljho It has ugly ass armor that's not worth a damn. Ugly weapons. Now Odogaron is perfection The Honey badger of Monster Hunter. I hope they bring it back and make it twice as vicious like willing to run the fade with anything
Deviljho helped shaped the way I play these games. Part of it is nostalgia sure, but as my first intro to high rank having a monster I strive to beat one day felt like having a rival. Then upon beating him and making his armor getting speed eating plus two meant I spend less time healing and flexing and more time actually hunting hell yea.
Bazelguese is a scavenger as well, even moreso than these two. And there's a lot of evidence that Wilds is set in the New World.
Oh word? Where did you see that? I figured he would hunt live prey due to him being able to divebomb a lot of things straight to death then eat what he just killed.

The idea that every map will have a scavenger is just too good to be true, I'll be dissapointed if that doesn't happen. But to be honest, I don't think Capcom would pass up the oportunity of making a big deal out of something like this, so if they didn't say anything by now, I think it's just small monsters that becone bone piles and large monsters will have nothing to do with it. Hope I'm wrong and you're right, because that would be insane, it would bring the world alive in a rarely seen way.

Deviljho CAN eat his own tail, it's just super rare to see him actually do it in a regular hunt. For multiple reasons, number one we end up carving it before he even gets the chance to, and number two. He has to be starving, and you have to wait for him to leave the area you're in, so he goes to go find food, and THEN he can end up running right into the path of the cut tail and he'll eat it. I know he can do this because i specifically went out of my to get it to happen when he came out in World originally and got it to happen in the Ancient Forest. It took a bit of effort on my part, but can confirm he can do it.

It's common knowledge that when deviljho came out in world everyone was upset that they removed him eating his tail. (Because he never did in the first place)
@@elk3407 I was always confused about that. For some reason thousands of people claim to have seen it, but every video of him doing it was proven fake. Or even if not, it was done by the same people who faked those videos before. When this conspiracy became popular, many people started hunting for footage. Seems like nothing was found. And for some reasons the people who say he eats his tail, always get more insane when it comes to requirements so that he will eat his tail. Ofc all contradicting eachother

Quematrice! Real name, no gimmicks! I didn't have a capture card back in rhe day and I sold all my Wii U stuff, so I can't prove Jho eats his own tail. I swear I've seen it though and this was without knowing someone put out a faked video.

this video got me thinking, so does the guild take the corpse or not after we hunt it? i never understood te lore of why we get a minute to carve then leave other than the guild comes and takes it and hand out more parts. its a different scenario in wilds but you still get loot after so someone is handing out freebies
The Guild does take slain monster bodies yeah, you can see this actually in Mh Rise Sunbreak after you slay the Daimyo Hermitaur in the cutscene
Yea I think this will end up being something where its best to just let the video game be a video game lol. That or maybe the researchers for each unit eventually make it out to where you killed the monster and they do research and carve it up to give you more parts later after the studies have concluded.
The thought of a new player just entering high rank and getting chased by an angry deviljho while a storm rages around them in the scarlet forest fills me with joy

Maybe! He'd be a good pick to return in the Master Rank update if they go for bringing the base at first.
@@Jaycan what I'm saying is that Ebony's the one with the nomadic lifestyle while the base sticks to the Rotten Vale and sometimes appears in the Coral Highlands

There are several different scavengers in every game, so it's not new
lore-wise yes, but mechanically there's never been anything to actually scavenge before so we've never gotten to see them act like scavengers

@@Jaycan monsters you forgot? Bro you said odogaron that is an apex predator and ignored the girros that survive basically from their scavenger attitude. About the monsters being actual objects… I don't see it the same way you do tho. Hitboxes, collisions and physics are far more complex than that in terms of interactions, specially in Wilds given we've seen even terrain deformation on the dunes. If I was you I would wait and see what they do before getting into these theories (I know it's mostly for content but just don't get too excited yet). I would say each biome will have predation tiers like real foodchains, so what we got in world but much expanded, that meaning each locale would have at least one (totally or partially) scavenger monster. About the hammer set I'd say it's not a bird (girros, again, do have a plague looking set and are snake faced lizards) and it won't be an apex for sure since we've not seen any ReyDau or UthDuna gear yet and still we've known from Conga and Quema since weapon preview days, so these two we're missing seem to be the other new monsters for the scarlet forest (or not).
