I just got the ZV-E10 and couldn't figured out how to paired with the GP-VPT2BT until I found this video. Thanks brother, you saved my life. If I could 👍 on this video, I would.
This step by step tutorial is becoming my camera bible. I followed along and paired my camera grip with my Sony ZV1. Your explanation of the various features of the camera grip and how to change the angles is wonderful, Jason.
I just bought the zv1 and grip. The manual I found online was useless in explaining how to link the two. I found another YT vid that explained it. This fellow is very good.
Hi Jay, another great video thank you. I have just bought the ZV1 with this grip to start vlogging and have watched your ZV1 videos so far, so any more videos you could make to help me, I am a complete novice at photography and cameras, so more novice videos would be must appreciated. Since watching your videos I am now ready to pair my grip with my camera, download pictures and videos to my Macbook pro and hopefully start actually using the camera. Exciting times. Looking forward to your next video on the ZV1. Thanks again.
I just bought the ZVe10 and am selling my ZV1. I love both - but don't need both. I have the Sony grip and I couldn't remember how to get them to link. Your video was exactly what I needed. Thanks.
man, you are the best ever so far on the internet that I found your tutorial are useful and perfect, you got my respect and thank you for teaching and sharing ❤
🎉😊 I just hooked everything up. Your Video was the best video I seen. Thanks for Showing how to work the Tripod. I had no clue. You deserve 5 Stars. The other videos I couldn't follow along.
Thanks for this review! Thanks also for being the only one who actually demonstrated removing the battery cover. Most such videos just cut away while the cover is somehow being removed.
Thank you - i got it linked ok via BT and then sat scratching my head for half an hour as to why it wasn't working! Thanks for making me dealise I hadn't enabled the Rmt Ctrl ! :)
📸 Hello. I ordered my Sony ZV-1 Camera & The Kit over a month ago but I had no time to learn how to use all of accessories that came with the Camera until now. 📸 Your video made it very easy to pair the Remote to the Camera. Thank you so much for your help. A Thumbs Up👍🏽 for a great video. God Bless. 😊 📸
@@Jason_Hermann no problem! Also, for the wireless grip do I turn it off somehow to save battery or does it turn off automatically? I think I ran the battery out when I turned off my camera
Wow - thank you for making this video!! This was so easy to follow along and I’m so glad you went through the step by step of pairing the mount to the ZV1. I’m even more excited to use this now 🙌🏼
Hi Jay. Great review. I read that you don't have the grip any more. Interested to know why you stopped using it as I'm looking at getting one for my A7C. Thanks for your time.
Hello, I only had the grip for about a month when I reviewed it. I didn't keep it, because I felt it was too small for the A7C and lenses I wanted to use. It's better suited for smaller cameras like the ZV-1 in my opinion.
@@Jason_Hermann thank you for the quick reply, much appreciated! I was thinking of using the A7C with a small pancake only (Samyang 24mm 2.8) 🤔 I'll keep checking the reviews. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for this video. Sometimes there is not enough time to learn something new no matter how important it is. I have these two items for over a year and I just came across this video (Sub) and now my grip works with the Zeiss. Thank
Hi Jay, great review as mine is arriving next week and I’m so excited to get started using this with my new Sony ZV 1. Thank you and Merry Christmas 🤓📷🎄
Thank you for such a clear instructional video! I plan to use the VZ2 for top down instructional art videos, so I need my hands relatively free. I am purchased this primarily for the zoom in and out feature. If I were to make to let's say get a knot in my thread and need to pause to correct the problem, is there a pause button or do I have to stop the video and start again and edit? I hope there is a pause? Thank you!
You are very welcome! No pause, just keep recording and edit out that part would be my suggestion. That is what I do when recording and make a mistake, I just compose myself and start over, and edit out that part...
Hello! Thanks for the video it was very helpful. I do have one question, how long does the battery last? How often do you replace it? I’m going on a trip and want it to work for the whole time I’m there! Thanks!
Hi there. Thank you so much for this video. A quick question; when pressing the photo button it’s taking 8-9 seconds to actual take the photo. Is that right? Or is there a setting somewhere that I have on that’s effecting this? I’m new to the camera! Thanks so much for your help.
No it will not. To get a photo from a video you can go into the playback menu of the camera and scroll thru whatever video and then capture a photo from the video itself after you record it.
Nice and thorough review, Jason! Will it auto reconnect to the Camera immediately if you turn off the camera and turn it on again? Or does the re-pairing sucks? And how do you know if the battery is about to run out? Thank you!
It's hard to measure, but it is better holding via the handle than just holding the camera itself. As far as view goes it's about the same as reaching out with your hand, but above your arm a decent amount making for a different angle.
@@Jason_Hermann Does it go into sleep even when the camera is still attached to it? Or does the camera have to be detached in order for it to go into sleep?
Yes, as soon as the camera goes to sleep or turns off the grip does the same. It has a keep alive of some sort though, because the grip knows when to wake-up. The batteries are super cheap (Extra Batteries (CR2032): geni.us/PSBj ) and they last a fairly long time, but Sony does not specify how long they will last for.
Jay this is great! Thank you. Can you confirm if Sony can simultaneously pair with two different remotes? I already have the regular remote and it helps with some shots. This could be a great addition for vlog style shots. My question is if I can have this connected and use it for vlog shots and also use the other remote for walking into frame shots? Essentially, can Sony cams be triggered with two separate Bluetooth remotes connected at once? I have the A7siii. Thanks for your response if you check this in the Lab. :)
I do not think you can have two different remotes paired at the same time to one camera. I can't seem to find a definitive answer for you though, and I only have this one bluetooth device at the moment.
@@Jason_Hermann Thank you for replying. If you find out let us know. I think that's a good possibility to use this one for vlogs while having another in the pocket for gimbal and remote camera operations. :) Cheers!
Thank you for the tutorial, mine is camera ze10 and the grip. The Bluetooth used to work. Now it’s only connect but the function button doesn’t works anymore. Do you have any idea? Thanks
Can I trigger shooting without the grip attached to the camera? For example: I would like to set up the camera in a different tripod and self photograph using the grip as trigger.
Great point and I agree, but it does not drain much at all when not in use, so it lasts a very long time and the batteries are pretty affordable as well.

How to turn off the bluetooth pairing from shooting grip? I turn off the camera. Will it automatically turn off?
I was looking for this, thank you.
So great and super awesome precise video..
Thanks , very Helpful. I was able to pair my camera

I have this camera. I have not find how to recharge or replace the battery in the handle/grip. Do I need to buy a replacement? Please help. Thanks
How Long does the battery last? And how do you re-pair the devices? What happens you shut down the camera?
It auto turns off and I don't know how long it lasts, sorry.
When recording, if you press the PHOTO button on the grip, will it take a photo in the background and save without interfering with the video?

Batteries (CR3202): geni.us/PSBj
Thanks, I just got mine and this video helps a lot.
Great video! Is there a reason to pick this up if you already own a gimbal?
Thanks and not unless you want a grip and don't want to use the gimbal I suppose...

Nice and thorough review, Jason! Will it auto reconnect to the Camera immediately if you turn off the camera and turn it on again? Or does the re-pairing sucks? And how do you know if the battery is about to run out? Thank you!
Thanks and it automatically reconnects as long as you keep the bluetooth and bluetooth remote ctrl on in the camera...

How much of help we can expect in terms of stability and getting wider view from this grip?

I bought this because of this video. Only one issue I have is, how do you turn it off once you are done using it?
You don't turn it off because it goes onto sleep mode on it's own.
