I went to a Dolly concert at Interlochen MI in the 90s. I knew where she was staying in town, so I left a note at the hotel desk for her letting her know we would be in the front row and it was our 40th anniversary. I asked her to sing "Eagle When She Flies" for my wife. She came on. Walked back and forth. Nodded questioningly to me and I returned the nod with a Thumbs Up. She then stood right there and gave the entire concert to me and my wife. She talked to us, asked if we were having a good time. She dedicated EAGLE" to my wife and me. She sang "Why'd You Come In Here Looking Like That" to me. She sang "He's Alive" at the end. I cried. She blew us a kiss before she left the stage for the last time. It was like having a private concert. My wife was REALLY impressed. Dollie Parton is one classy lady for sure.
I worked at Dollywood in 1996, Dolly is the real deal. Genuine and she came in June to meet every employee and have photos made with each team..She's an amazing loving human being.
As a singer (from Tucson oddly enough) who has lost a lot of my voice from smoking damage, I feel for Linda so much. I can still sing, but it's not what it was and it kills me to not be able to soar any more, but trot and stumble now. (I was training in opera at one time). Yes, I can hear it in my mind, as Linda said, but I know she is putting on a brave face and she would give her left and right arm to have an hour of her voice back. I feel for her and cry for her loss.
@@kathleenkaufmann2084 I understood this so much also!! Such a rich voice and she could do anything she wanted with it! My littlest grandson loves her voice, but he loves these tight harmonies even more, which makes me silly-happy!!
@raeder7820~~I've always loved and adored this woman~~Ihave been to many concerts in my life but when I took my Ma to see her along with Willie Nelson, Emmy Lou Harris and The Stray Cats it was the best I had ever seen back in the 80's~~That was a concert I will never forget~~My Ma even loved it and I had to take her cause she never went anywhere~~R.I.P, Mama~~Linda and her songs will live in my heart 4 ever~~God Bless this precious woman~~Please don't let her suffer~~💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏~~
Every time I hear Linda Ronstadt speak in an interview, my love and admiration for her grows a bit more. "I can still sing in my mind"... Gave me chills...
Tu l'a dit bouffi ! A Pariiiii!
Ronstadt's repertoire was staggering. Rock, pop, standards, country, mexican, operetta(The Pirates of Penzance), opera(Puccini's La Boheme). Nobody else could match this.
Just to clarify: She specifically sang two specific styles of Mexican music ranchera and primarily mariachi music, not simply “Mexican” music. There is no one “Mexican” style of music - its varied just like it is here. Lots of beautiful Mexican music traditions that deserve their own flowers!
There is no one who can touch her. Streisand is close and has an equally distinctive voice. Houston is up there. Ronstadt is just so gutsy and has such passion for the art of song
Linda Ronstadt: In my opinion, the worlds greates femail singer ever. There was nothing she couldn't handle, she was and will remain, absolute perfection. Never will she be overtaken .
I hope when Linda finally passes it's not just us old folks who give her praise. I grew up on her music, and I wish younger people today knew how important she was to the industry.
I wish they would today, create a tribute, musical tv special, compilation of her talent and life so that she can get a mood boost and see how her fans adore her still ❤❤❤
Give her all the 'flowers' and adoration you can NOW. Appreciate the living wherever they are and the people around you. We share this time and space together in quickly passing eras. Make the most of it.
God Bless You, Linda. My husband is in his final phase of Parkinson's. It is a cruel disease. He used to be a ballroom dancer. Now he needs 24/7 care. I understand completely what you are going through because I am going through it with him. My husband always loved your music. Rest and have friends & family over--they will get you through this.
I’ve loved Linda’s voice since I first heard Different Drum on the radio; I was about 8 or 9, and she was all over the radio. Long, Long Time, When Will I Be Loved-just such great songs. As soon as I was old enough to buy records with my allowance, I was buying her singles. In tenth grade 1981, she was still killing it, the queen of rock ‘n roll. All through high school, hers was the only music I would play in my car-my sister and my friends would just roll their eyes and say, “oh no, it’s LR again???” And I’d say YUP and blast Livin’ in the USA or Mad Love. Just such greatness. Such vocal control and depth in her voice. Even now, in 2023, I want to cry when I listen to her, knowing that these recordings are all we have. I just want more! But I’m so thankful I heard Different Drum that day in the early 70s. It changed my life.
Dolly is a national treasure. Not only has she shared her amazing singing and song writing with us. Plus her films. She's gave so much financial help for so many. The books that she's gave to children all over the world. Her father couldn't read at all, That inspired her to do that book foundation. There's no room for to list all ways Dolly has helped people.
When Linda Ronstadt sings "Blue Bayou " she takes you to a place where your staring and feeling the sunrise she sings about. Linda is God's gift to all.
How could you not love these 3? For their music, spirit and beauty. Emmy Lou is correct: Linda had the best voice of my generation. Dolly is correct: Linda has one of the all time great voices.
They were doing an interview & at the end, they decided to do an impromptu gospel acapella. I was speechless. Their harmonizing was impeccable. Seriously, I had never heard nor have I ever heard three more angelic voices lifted up in song. I'm certain The Almighty was smiling when they finished.
Most guys of my generation who loved music also crushed on Linda Ronstadt, including me. I had all her albums and played them in the car when I drove long rips.
There is still good music out there....it is WE who have changed, gotten older, our tastes developed....so we are choosier and, in a way, more "sophisticated"....but when Gaga began, we wrote her off...but no one writes her off, today. She has proven time and again, using her as the example, that she can sing anything she wants to...from The Sound of Music to pop to standards. The music today might not be what we are used to but there are good artists everywhere. Remember, people my age, 50ish, wrote off Dolly Parton when we were young, but then we began to understand her and her style and now...dude....I love her and the made country music a part of my life. Not a huge part, but a part I appreciate.
Dolly's last comments on this video is why I love Dolly so much. I love the trio, but I have a special place in my heart for Dolly. She's just the best humanity has to offer.
Linda, you may be very critical of your own voice. We often are our own worst enemies. But the truth is…we, your fans, think your voice is fantastic! Your music has given us -and keeps on giving us - countless happy hours. So when you feel critical again think of your fans who love every note you sang. Timeless music! Thanks for the interview, all of you!
Interviewer asks, " so what gets you through?" Linda's response, "common sense" at which point in the video I laughed and cried at the same time. Bittersweet. She STILL has a lot on the ball though. She can't do some things but I could talk to her all day long because she is so well read!!!!
Joyce Hamann Me too Joyce ! I started crying and laughing as soon as the interviewer started talking to Linda ! She's very tough and resilient , I sure hope she has family and friends around her to support her and have her back ! ❤️
If you went to a "Hi Fi" store in the late 1970s, looking to buy a good stereo system, they would demonstrate their very mediocre stereo gear with Blue Bayou. It could make anything sound good.
I saw Emmylou and Linda at the Ryman during their Western Wall tour. Linda sang Blue Bayou. It brought the house down. I never hear such a roar of applause of the crowd. Blew my socks off.
You are right that is a tough song to sing, I haven't heard anyone that does that song as good as she does it, especially when she hits the highs, they always bring it down a level or put their own spin on it.
Thistledove I always thought Blue Bayou was a perfect audition song for talent shows because if you could pull it off you can demonstrate your range, not only of notes but of style, with understated tenderness and power ballad.
Listen to Roy Orbison, the writer and original singer. He had one of the greatest ranges of any male singer, and made it seem effortless, as Linda does. I can't imagine listening to anyone other than these two trying to sing it.
As one living with adrenomyeloneuropathy (a cousin of Parkinson's disease) and mapping my own steady decline, I'd love to spend an afternoon with Linda Ronstadt; just to offer human and spiritual support. Believe me, talking with someone who understands first hand does make a difference. Time with Dolly (would be a hoot herself) or Emmylou would also be a pleasure. I know it will not come to be, but I can still live it my mind and soul. Y'all be a blessing.
They are all inspiring women and singers... It's just so sad to see people like Linda and Celine Dion not being able to do what they were born to do anymore... This teaches us a lot, especially that we must do what we like before it is too late, life is unpredictable.
Radical acceptance, wow! I'm a singer songwriter and cannot imagine losing ability to sing and play. I cried listening to Linda on dealing with Parkinsons . Not fair.
I've always imagined that when your time comes to pass away, You'll be standing in this golden elevator that takes you to Heaven. And the music playing in the elevator is from these three supremely talented women.
Linda has always mesmerised me with those gorgeous eyes, I am now 71 and have listened to her ever since I can remember, such a shame to see her afflicted with this terrible disease ,god bless u Linda for all those memories you have given me.
The three of them were such great singers on their own. Together they are phenomenal. It's too bad Linda is slowly drifting away. I fell in love with her when she sang with the Stone Poneys.
Linda is an amazingly beautiful female singer and and vocal perfectionist! Emmy Lou from day one was always splendid! Dolly is arguably queen of country music female singers!! Wishing Linda much comfort and strength. Many thanks and long live these three wonderful voices!
I started listening to Linda Ronstadt at 14 in 1976 on my 8 track player. I loved her then & I love her now. Her voice is phenomenal, & her attitude towards her illness gives me the strength to deal with my own health issues. God Bless you, Linda.
Me too! And back in the day, I looked a lot like her too. Though I could never sing. But I did catch the eye of my now husband when I was doing a Linda impersonation in an air band contest. So thank you Linda.
Linda Ronstadt taught me to sing, the purest perfect voice ever to grace rock, country, opera, traditional Mexican, big band, broadway....if I could ever sing with 1/100th of her talent and purity, I would bother you no more.
So very heartbreaking we no longer have lovely singers and musicians like these beautiful lady's i will weep to myself when they are all gone one by one they are leaving us, These beautiful lady's gave me memory's inside from my childhood from looking at my mom on a spring day and remembering the smell of her perfume to the day i lost my sweet little granny they were and are a part of my childhood and my life still
Cherie Casey don’t say shit like that every generation has greatness and authenticity and beauty of its own. There will be many wonderful women to come after these, just as there were beautiful women who came before. Don’t do that “no longer” thing it doesn’t work like that. There are always beautiful artists to be found, maybe more now than ever.
Cherie Casey- How touching & So True.❤ i Know how u feel. I too have sweet memories of my mom listening to & singing these ladies songs. Mom was a part- time professional singer. I was blessed to hear mama sing.❤ Linda has always been my favorite. There will probably never be musicians this talented again. in my lifetime anyway. Its been 35 years for me & im still loving listening to them.💜🎼🎶 So far, none of the new music I've listened to even comes close.. Yes, U agree it's really Sad for the new generation.
Melanie Murray what is wrong with you? This person is sharing a sweet sentiment, don’t tell her to don’t feel the way she does. There may be great singers still but the style of music we grew up with is gone, completely and totally, nothing sounds like our cherished memories. Also in this day of video, some of the greatest singers of this generation will never be heard by the masses because they can’t twerk, and other important stuff millennials look for.
I so love their voices together; the combination is truly special. I don't think I'd ever stopped to listen to anything from Dolly or Emmylou until I heard them sing with Linda, whose music has been in my life every day (really) for as long as I can remember. Love them all now. Even though I have a ton of Linda's music, I sure miss her presence - she's so charming, knowledgeable, and funny - and I'm always looking for updates on her health. The most beautiful things in the world are often fragile and need to be protected and that certainly holds true for Linda. She's contstantly in my thoughts and prayers
My God I love the three of them so much...They're voices are so beautiful and they've made this world such a better place for being in it...God bless them😇😇😇
Whether separately or together, these three amazing women were a big part of my childhood. They featured prominently in my mother's musical rotation. I could never thank my mom nor them enough.
Catherine C Rooney, it is rather perplexing, isn't? In the recent documentary that just aired on television for the first time on New Year's Day on CNN, Peter Asher seemed to point out this paradox. He said she was so certain about her ideas, but not her singing. I used to be a speech pathologist, and I know we hear ourselves differently from how others hear us, because we hear ourselves through bone conduction in addition to aurally. I really don't know what Ms. Ronstadt was hearing, but to my untrained ear, I never heard a false or sour note. All I can say is I am so thankful she does not have the power to remove from online the songs she felt she did a disservice to. Heard her say she wish she could-can you imagine?
Huge celebrities, the good ones, recognize the need for humility. I think self criticism is Ronstadt's way of being humble. I don't mean to say that she's insincere; only that she's willing to share her perfectionism publicly and that she's able to see the flaws in her earlier work. As far as removing her "imperfect" songs, I think the threat is half-hearted at most, a way to convey her cringe reaction when she realizes how she could have improved on them. I submit that the imperfections (frankly, I can't hear them) are what makes those songs good and gives them their humanity.
@@jamesmcinnis208 Thank you for your thoughtful response, James. I guess this theory can apply to all of us who care about what we do, but for those of us who toil in relative anonymity, we can grow and learn without our "growing pains" being recorded and frozen in time. The unflattering photo rarely makes it into the family photo album if we have any say over it. We are so fortunate to have the technology to observe Ms. Ronstadt's "learning curve."
I Absaluty love Dolly I have been following her from agw13 I am 58 yrs old now my biggest wish is to meet her I have alot of her music I'm on assistance I can't see her in a concert but I sure can listen to her I wish I could tell her what her music love you Dolly
@@lnl3237 I think she might wish she could do it over. Typical perfectionist thinking. I cant imagine suffering such a loss of a gift. I am a photographer and the equivalent would be losing my sight. Cant fathom surviving that, but I guess we all have to do what we have to do to get thru.
Linda Ronstadt is the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on with the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. Moved to tears watching this. What a treasure she is along with Dolly and EmmyLou. Their harmonies are perfection.
Hi Dave, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. I'm Allyson from California, looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind, thank you.
The interview and seeing Linda and what she has dealt with today brings tears to my eyes. Her voice of an angel always brings me joy and her resiliency gives me inspiration.Dolly and Emmylou were damn lucky they got to have that honor to associate themselves to perform with someone amazingly awesome. ❤ that trio…Dolly, Emmylou, and Linda
I wasn't even born as my parents drove from the eastern US to California. Circa 1962, as they drove through Flagstaff, Arizona they saw a sign in front of a saloon that read, " Appearing tonight, Little Linda Ronstadt!" She was only 15 or 16 at the time! Wow, a distant brush with greatness.
I've loved her since high school in the 70's because "Love Has No Pride"! I was 14 when I fell in love! I'm now 65, I've moved on with my life, but I'll always love 💘 Bob! Let's go to Tennessee Whiskey town!!! Don't drink but the music gets me high! Thank you to Chris Stapleton! 😁
@markuse3472 I’m confident he meant Emmylou Harris because of the context. Emmylou Harris was and is a magnificently gifted artist, but her level of success never approached Linda Rondstadt. She was highly appreciated by other artists, but widespread popular success, especially outside of country, was elusive. In the 1970s and into the 1980s, you’d have had to live under the proverbial rock to not know Linda Rondstadt. The Willie Nelson comment basically covers Emmylou Harris’ situation: those who knew her music loved it and many of those who weren’t country fans just didn’t have an awareness of her.
I love Linda. It's really sad but she has a good attitude. Common sense, indeed. And man, was she good looking. I think all guys my age had a crush lol
Lawrence C my older brother & I were in high school during the seventies - his buddies had posters of Farrah Fawcett but oh no he had a poster of Linda 💕💕💕 wonder if George Lucas knew how many teenage boys had crushes on his girl 💕💕💕 have always loved Linda’s voice no matter what she sang - then Trio came along ❤️💕❤️ she’s in my prayers - may she feel the love and find strength from our thoughts and prayers
I grew up in the 70’s listening to bands like Styx bad company Skynyrd BTO Heart and the list goes on. But absolutely loved Linda Ronstadt still do breaks my heart to think about it . Oh and out of all the music I listened to Linda is the only singer that my grandpa ever agreed with me on he was in his 60’s at the time. May God bless her .
I can’t believe that Linda thought and believed she did a bad job singing Blue Byiou. OMG! It’s not only my most favorite song in the world but one of the most beautifully sung I have ever heard. Hands down easily, the most favorite song of my entire life without any doubt. Everytime I listen to her sing it, it makes me choke up. I have easily heard this song thousands of times over all the years, since it first was released and to this very day, I still choke up. And that only happens when she performs it herself. Hundreds of other very talented and special artist have performed their version of this piece and no one knocks it out of the park like Linda does. Linda honey, you did it to perfection and I am almost 100% sure, everyone of us who love and adore you, would agree with me. You and that angelic voice of yours have touched my heart like no other artist has. You even top Dolly Parton and Emmy Lou Harris without a doubt. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your gift and love of music with all the world. We love you and are with you.
@kathy roberts I too saw her many times throughout So Calif in the 70's. Santa Monica Civic, often with Jackson Brown and/or Bonnie raitt . Sometimes up at the palomino club. I was devouring live shows all up and down the coast....so much music was happening! These 3 really do sound angelic in their harmonies. And dolly is our national treasure, first saw her on the porter Wagoner show and I surely have loved hervsince that loooong ago broadcast. [Edited for grammar]
Oh linda ronstadt the voice of all time Emmy I can take or leave don't like dolly too much the country bumpkin no one compares to linda its a shame she has her condition Can't sing but she's so brave in accepting it how she does love u forever
@@tjwash2 So many great songs from John, that I don't know if I could name just one favorite, but he was the key to my great love and respect for our environment and why I moved to a rural area as an adult and continue to be blessed to live in such a breathtaking area. His music was soul touching.
Check out Brandi carlile and Rufus wainwright to name two voices from the next generation that are great. There are other younger ones as well. They’re harder to find these days given the fragmentation of the business. But they’re there.
@@dabear2438 I had no idea, gotta look for that now! Her operatic excellence in Penzance was on terrific display, so I shouldn't be surprised she sang Puccini too. Her stage presence and that gorgeous voice ... wow, so fabulous in so many genres!
wisecrac99 I tend to sing along to most songs (my singing voice should be heard by no sentient being). When I hear trio, especially my blue tears I’m silent. I love picking out the individual voices when that’s possible and the times when it’s impossible to do so and the sound created by them is unlike any of them.
I've loved them all, through my whole life. The first time I heard Blue Bayou I was just waking up. I fell out of bed. I already loved Dolly. The first time I ever heard of Emmy Lou, was at a concert, she was opening act for Willie. I fell out of my chair. I've Loved Emmy Lou ever since. She's in her seventies now and still outshines all others, by far.
My Mum introduced me to Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton in my childhood and I discovered Emmy Lou Harris years later. I have distinct memories of singing along to Linda Ronstadts Prisoner in Disguise album, Dollys Jolene, Coat of Many Colours, 9 to 5, and the soundtrack to Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. I appreciate these songs in adulthood in a way I could not understand them as a child, having said that, Coat of Many Colours is one I understood then and made a huge impression. It underlined the principles taught to me that time, thoughtfulness, care and love are more precious than anything that can ever be bought.
Oh these three friends are just beyond words wonderful! The Trio albums live in my heart forever. I'm so sorry Linda has such a major health challenge! Yet I still see her shine with incredible beauty and courage, and now, almost uncanny humility, all of which inspire me. I'm so glad she did the interview!
Back in 1978, I shared a house in Anchorage with a bunch of people. One guy played Blue Bayou over and over and over for three months and I enjoyed it every single time. Fabulous song.
my heart and best wishes to all three beautiful ladies who filled my many years with happiness - and my special thanks to Linda and may God be with you - you whose voice moved my soul my times .... and I've been with Dolly since black and white TV and Porter Wagoner ... and Emmylou who pours here soul into mine through her music. Thanks ladies from this old Vietnam Vet on Memorial Day 2019
I'm praying with you (hope you don't mind Miss Caroline). Hold to Matthew 18:20 and remember God is never limited by time or place. May comfort and assurance be hers. Be a blessing.
Every song Linda did gave me chills. And then they did the trio, and I had triple chills. Look, this is why everybody has to believe in Jesus because this just cannot end here! We are going to need that trio in heaven!
Aside from the women of Heart, Linda has ALWAYS been my fav female singer. It is such a shame that Parkinson's has taken hold of her. She was such a beautiful lady. Seems this horrid disease is making its rounds with the musicians. Her and Neil Diamond. Wow, it will be a sad day for music when these two pass...God be with them....
@@Marsbonfire007 I believe Robin Williams had Lewy Body Dementia which is like Alzheimer's but so much more devastating at a faster pace. He just couldn't accept losing his mind and a brilliant mind at that. He chose to leave on his own terms and as hard as it was on his family, I think they have come to terms with it because they knew him so well. None of us know what lies ahead of us.
Was never a country fan but joined another couple w/my hubby and saw Dolly in concert. What a treat! I wanted to take her home with me she's so sweet and kind... And fun! Have been a fan ever since. Always loved Linda, sad to hear that about her. I'll agree getting old sucks! Harris looks beautiful.
I watched the CNN documentary 2 days ago, cried through that, watched this, I'm crying again. I grew up in the 70s/80s/90s with Linda Ronstadt (and Nelson Riddle and Trio), I'm so sad for her - but she's had a great career, thankful for what she gave us!

When I was twelve years old , I listened to this song of Neil Young's over and over and over. I was pretty mellow as a teenager and loved this song. These three beauties , in voice, spirit and loveliness , are the everlasting greatness in harmony for eternity. Linda Ronstadt , one of the best voices of all time , along with her music, molded me in to a lover of music for ever. As I am a very old old man now, with a lifelong haunting illness of mental depression , anxiety and love lost , it's great to hear these three women in these now dated videos.
Life has a way of beating us up pretty bad ,but these lady’s are still with us, and I’m thanking God for everyday he gives us... God has a plan for each of us , and I’m sticking with him till the end 🙏
I would love the opportunity to share some GOOD news with Linda Ronstadt that she can receive healing for her diagnosis - l know something that will make a difference in her life. Wish I had that chance, but I have and will continue to pray for her. She is loved.

The most beautiful voice I have heard in a long, long, long time prayers go out to Linda to help her through this time in her life that way no her voice is absolutely beautiful….❤
Very sweet of you to do that for your wife, and cool that Dolly went along with it🤘

I’m so grateful Linda did such a range of music!! At least we do get to keep hearing her. Such a rich voice and she could do anything she wanted with it! My littlest grandson loves her voice, but he loves these tight harmonies even more, which makes me silly-happy!!

Linda Ronstadt was not only an exquisite singer, she also is an extremely strong and resilient person.
Strong, resilient, awesome, lovely. We don't have enough positive adjectives to properly describe this beautiful soul.
I love Linda except her politics were pretty extreme for me.
And so smart and so funny. "Common sense."
What realization did you learn from that?
And with Nelson Riddle's big band
Linda Ronstadt: In my opinion, the worlds greates femail singer ever. There was nothing she couldn't handle, she was and will remain, absolute perfection. Never will she be overtaken .
Three beautiful singers and no auto tune.
Auto-tune is of the devil.
Indeed. Perfect pitch and utterly tuned to each other.
Seriously - I love harmony and theirs is stunningly perfect
I hope when Linda finally passes it's not just us old folks who give her praise. I grew up on her music, and I wish younger people today knew how important she was to the industry.
Why wait till she passes.... do it now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish they would today, create a tribute, musical tv special, compilation of her talent and life so that she can get a mood boost and see how her fans adore her still ❤❤❤
I'm such a fan of Linda Ronstadt. I wasn't born in this country and I'm an elder millennial - her music transcends boundaries and time.
Finally passes? Like what the H. You can't wait for it to happen?
Give her all the 'flowers' and adoration you can NOW. Appreciate the living wherever they are and the people around you. We share this time and space together in quickly passing eras. Make the most of it.
I just got goosebumps listening to Linda. This trio of women are a gift to us.
Linda overated
God Bless You, Linda. My husband is in his final phase of Parkinson's. It is a cruel disease. He used to be a ballroom dancer. Now he needs 24/7 care. I understand completely what you are going through because I am going through it with him. My husband always loved your music. Rest and have friends & family over--they will get you through this.
Used to admire your talent, now I admire your courage, strength, and way of facing adversity. You are, forever, amazing, Linda!
Amen
Feeling suddenly better about my own health challenges, what a great hero she is. Saving this vid for the darker moments.
Yes, the Stone Poneys...and then Blue Bayou. OMG. It was mesmerizing. I'll never tire of hearing it.
"Don't think I'm a dumb country girl 'cause I dress like one!" Now THAT'S Dollly! God bless her forever.
Dolly once said “ It’s cost whole lot of money to look this dumb!“
When Linda Ronstadt sings "Blue Bayou " she takes you to a place where your staring and feeling the sunrise she sings about. Linda is God's gift to all.
Exactly! I always thought that too 🥰
Hi Linda hope you're okay?
How could you not love these 3? For their music, spirit and beauty. Emmy Lou is correct: Linda had the best voice of my generation. Dolly is correct: Linda has one of the all time great voices.
*The way their voices harmonize on “After The Gold Rush” is so beautiful.*
Indeed, that was a truly haunting and beautiful performance.
I've always loved Linda Ronstadt. So gorgeous with a set of pipes like nobody else . When music was good music.
Linda best female vocalist ever
Her voice is just completely unreal. Nothing compares to it!
Dolly's last comments on this video is why I love Dolly so much. I love the trio, but I have a special place in my heart for Dolly. She's just the best humanity has to offer.
Talent, beauty and great humanity. What a combo!

@Andrew Ongais That is a matter of opinion, in their own way they both are very good, kudos to both of them
@Andrew Ongais I take your point, and while Roy still has a following here in Oz, though small, I agree with you
Linda, you may be very critical of your own voice. We often are our own worst enemies. But the truth is…we, your fans, think your voice is fantastic! Your music has given us -and keeps on giving us - countless happy hours. So when you feel critical again think of your fans who love every note you sang. Timeless music!
Thanks for the interview, all of you!
A fan forever
Interviewer asks, " so what gets you through?" Linda's response, "common sense" at which point in the video I laughed and cried at the same time. Bittersweet. She STILL has a lot on the ball though. She can't do some things but I could talk to her all day long because she is so well read!!!!
Joyce Hamann Me too Joyce ! I started crying and laughing as soon as the interviewer started talking to Linda ! She's very tough and resilient , I sure hope she has family and friends around her to support her and have her back ! ❤️
Thank you for clarifying what she'd said. Forgive me for my immaturity, but instead of "common sense" I thought she said "having sex".

They are all just awesome! And Linda has it all wrong, Blue Bayou was a masterpiece, and she sang it to perfection!
crjetpilot I read a quote today by Roy Orbison crediting Linda with putting him back on the map.
If you went to a "Hi Fi" store in the late 1970s, looking to buy a good stereo system, they would demonstrate their very mediocre stereo gear with Blue Bayou. It could make anything sound good.
You said it!
@@roadie3124 haha that's great. I wish I was around in the 70s!
@@roadie3124 I do belive that's where I was introduced to that song. And maybe also Desperado.
I saw Emmylou and Linda at the Ryman during their Western Wall tour. Linda sang Blue Bayou. It brought the house down. I never hear such a roar of applause of the crowd. Blew my socks off.
Not a molecule of phoniness in Linda, no-nonsense and brave.
Linda Ronstadt is right that for a singer "Blue Bayou" is either too low or too high. Linda knocked it out of the ballpark.
You are right that is a tough song to sing, I haven't heard anyone that does that song as good as she does it, especially when she hits the highs, they always bring it down a level or put their own spin on it.
Linda Randstad, is a very strong lady, if anyone can beat Parkinson's I have faith she will be the one.
This is a family song for us. I love putting in different harmonies for that song....
Time is harsh. We are lucky to have this collaboration forever in recordings...
Amen...
Not fair.
Also Randy Travis.
Their voices resonate like a chorus of angels!
Blue Bayou will always be one of my absolute favourites. I,ll be 78 in Jan 2024. Well done Linda, you are timeless and priceless.
All three are beloved.
Hello Tracy...
If there's a sweeter sounding trio in THE WORLD, I've never heard it! Truly magnificent!
"Silver Threads and Golden Needles" is right in second place. :-)

I love her Mexican album “canciones de mi Padre”. Went on to become the best selling Traditional folk Mexican album in the United States of all time.
Excellent album and never fails to lift my spirits if I'm down
I remember when Johnny Carson shook hands with every band member and spoke to them in Spanish.
Beautiful voices!. Beautiful ladies!
I cried hearing Linda no longer can sing. These ladies were there through my youth and I'm so grateful!
I cried also!
The best Christmas gift I ever got as a teen, was Linda Ronstadt's Greatest Hits, from my big sister.

Whether separately or together, these three amazing women were a big part of my childhood. They featured prominently in my mother's musical rotation. I could never thank my mom nor them enough.
I don't know why Linda is so critical of herself, she is always amazing

Apparently Willie Nelson once said “There are two types of people in the world: those who love Linda Ronstadt and those who don’t know she exists.”

Actually, he said that about Emmylou, but it rings true about Linda as well.
@@patlatorres7000 If he said that about Emmylou, we know he had Linda in his mind.

Thanks ladies from this old Vietnam Vet on Memorial Day 2019
My father was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s and it killed my grandfather as well. Sending nothing but prayers Linda’s way.
I'm praying with you (hope you don't mind Miss Caroline). Hold to Matthew 18:20 and remember God is never limited by time or place. May comfort and assurance be hers. Be a blessing.
Me too. God please heal all suffering from this disease.
i love their voices together...like heaven opening up and that's the sound that is there...and i am NOT a religious person!!
Hi Linda hope you're okay?
Every song Linda did gave me chills. And then they did the trio, and I had triple chills. Look, this is why everybody has to believe in Jesus because this just cannot end here! We are going to need that trio in heaven!
Aside from the women of Heart, Linda has ALWAYS been my fav female singer. It is such a shame that Parkinson's has taken hold of her. She was such a beautiful lady. Seems this horrid disease is making its rounds with the musicians. Her and Neil Diamond. Wow, it will be a sad day for music when these two pass...God be with them....
Don't forget....Robin Williams.
Linda was my first crush and first concert in 1978. Thank you Linda for so much pleasure.
They sound so beautiful together.💞❤🌹
Hi Laure hope you're okay?
You get worst till you die. Classic line. Bravery in the face adversity.
Exactly John.
Hi Dennis, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. I'm Allyson from California, looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind, thank you.
What a wonderful woman. Heartfelt thanks Linda.
My favorite female singer.Dolly,Emily Harris and Linda wow what a trio.
I would love the opportunity to share some GOOD news with Linda Ronstadt that she can receive healing for her diagnosis - l know something that will make a difference in her life. Wish I had that chance, but I have and will continue to pray for her. She is loved.
I had the pleasure of seeing Linda in person & she was always my go to gal!! How I love her & her voice. WoW. It does not get any better then Linda Ronstadt!!!!!!! 🎼🎶🎵🎹🎼🎵🎹🎶💓🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹She is still one beautiful Woman!!! Always💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
I listened to both of their CD's until I practically wore them out. Here are three of the greatest singers of our generation, and I'm so, so sorry for Linda. God bless them for bringing such beauty and joy into our lives.
Cat McNichol , The Complete Trio Collection includes a third c d of unreleased and alternative takes, no fillers in any of the Trio albums , all just sublime☘️☘️☘️❤️💚❤️
Linda...greatest female singer ever....full stop. Love always.
The most beautiful voice I have heard in a long, long, long time prayers go out to Linda to help her through this time in her life that way no her voice is absolutely beautiful….❤
Hi Sue hope you're okay?
Those of us who've seen Linda live over the years know what a beautiful, indelible voice she has. One of a kind.
Different Drum was the first time I heard Linda Ronstadt voice, I knew she was destined for greatness.
One of my favorite trio and their albums ❤
Such talents!!!!
