question : can you have the option to pay in either GBP when eating foods at shops and drinks? The prices are unbelievably cheap converting into GBP today!

You have to think like 1₺ = 1€ for a Turkish person. We are going in a crazy economical inflation-situation these days, minimum wage is 2000₺, unemployment rates skyrocketed (around 15% !), food prices doubles each year bla bla bla...(I can write 40 pages long "what's going wrong on Turkey" lol) Sadly it is not a cheap place for us.:(

hi, simit is not pronounced like she-mitt, it's pronounces si mitt, si as it's in do re mi fa sol la "si" or as letter C sounds in the English alphabet'song ABC :) and second syllable mit sounds as in baseball mitt. Si / C + MItt = Simit .. Thank you for your video , it was very informative , leaves one wishing to go to Ankara and start feasting , everything looked delicious.

Is it better to live and work in Ankara or Istanbul as an expatriate?

My mother who is pediatrician pensioner after 40 years of state service 3500 (583 euros), my father used to be vice chairman of state hospital in Ankara now pensioner earns 635 euro per month after his 45 years of tenure and surgeonship. So you can understand how Ankara is as expensive as Istanbul, with very high titled thousands of prof. drs, doc.drs. doctors, master graduates, many military descendants. I earn 500 euros per month as pensioner graduated from American University and master in Ankara , 2 years lessons certificates and transcripts from the USA cities universities in years of 1995, 2000; after my 25 years of private sector service. Turkish wages are similar to Jugoslavian or Bulgarian wages per month as well as pension wages because of inner war with kurds, who are Ottoman Sultanships' Warriors and main Army from the year 1984. Turks adore building mosques , large and small , nobody can interfere them. I am baptist christian , baptised in the year 2013 by the way, no relationship with muslims. You can understand the difference of prices in Barcelona Spain , Spanish Empire's stronghold city and Ankara turkey supermarket prices. Everything is 5 times at least more expensive in Barcelona Spain. McDonalds Big Mac Menu is 6.70 euros in Barcelona, whereas in Ankara 3 euros. Small water in Barcelona is 2 euros to 3.5 euros in supermarkers or in restaurants whereas in Ankara Turkey, small water is 0.25 cents to 0.5 cents in restaurants. Highest price 3+1 brand new apartment in Barcelona is 1.7 million euros, whereas in Ankara the highest priced brand new apartment of 3+1 is only 400.000 euros. Bus ticket in Ankara is 0.50 cents, whereas in Barcelona Spain public bus is priced at 2.20 euros, 4.60 euros to Barcelona El Prat Airport metro line cost.
