I think it was also mentioned by Bianca or Adore Delano that they had filmed a double crowning too. I wonder how that would have been received considering it was a regular season and early season at that!
@@peachplays7176I feel like with how amazing season 6 was in general + the phenomenal Top 3, a double crowning could’ve worked better for Bianca and Adore. They had great chemistry on the show and are so loved by the fan base that I (personally) wouldn’t have minded seeing them both win because they killed that season. I think a double crowning could’ve worked for a different season but it just didn’t work for Monét & Trinity the way the producers wanted it to.
@@leovivas4252 uhhh, I don’t think so based off of interviews since that season. I believe Bianca said she wouldn’t have minded that outcome but she felt horrible for Courtney because it was clear based on them filming a double crowning, Courtney wasn’t a real option as a winner for that season. I know she’s mentioned that throughout the years on the Pit Stop and other interviews. But I don’t remember her ever saying that she would’ve walked off. She loves Adore (don’t mind me laughing at this little joke lol) and would’ve been happy to see her crowned but obviously very happy that she did win. I don’t remember/ haven’t seen every single Bianca interview so she could’ve mentioned that. I don’t think she said she’d have walked off 🤷🏽♀️ also, I feel like out of respect for RuPaul, the cast and production crew Bianca wouldn’t have walked off if she lost. She’s too much of a professional to pull a stunt like that and risk her career in the future. That’s just my opinion on the situation. I am not Bianca and I wasn’t there for the competition or filming so I can’t say for sure what she would’ve done.
my theory is that AS3 voting was to prevent Bebe from winning 2nd crown, because they knew most girls won't vote for her, because she already won and this was the only way to eliminate her without Ru doing it, and they didn't want Ru to do it to not invalidate her season 1 win
Exactly because anyway you put it she did better than Kennedy and Trixie so she had to make Top 2. Which wouldn’t have felt bad being a runner up to Shangela the uncrowned queen
I don’t think it was just that, it was to give them an excuse if the queens did vote Bebe to top 2. If she did the best and got the vote to win again, then you can crown her again and it feels deserved. Otherwise, it’s because the queens wanted to celebrate other girls, and that works too.
my biggest theory is that valentina was 100% meant and set-up to win or at least make the final 4 of season 9 but of course That lipsync happened and there was no way they could justify her staying without it looking VERYYY shady
my second biggest one that i genuinely believe is true is that art symone was meant to be the host of down under but then got replaced by Ru. which is why they brought her back after her elimination as a suedo apology
While yes, it would look shady, the only reason Kany Muse was saved in that one episode was literally because Ru said "I am not ready to let you go" which is MAJOR bullshit. So clearly the show doesn't care about having things look/be very shady in terms of eliminations/saving queens lmao
@@ziedyee kandy's save could be/was justified/covered up as a double shantay meanwhile there was NO reason why valentina would be allowed to stay after not even knowing the words to a lipsync like thats a cardinal sin i dont think Ru would even do that nowadays or ever it goes again the whole point of lipsyncing for your life it would look EXTREMELY shady
Regarding “testing people for All-Stars”, I’d love to see them do that with Jaidynn Diore Fierce. Apparently she’s been an alternate a few times, but just keeps missing the cut for one reason or another. They could have as a lip-sync assassin (which she definitely is), or some other thing, and I’m sure audiences would fall in love with her enough to finally make it onto All-Stars. I can easily see her being another Jessica Wilde in that way.
I will never understand the very select few group of people who are obsessed with jaidynn. Like she’s a good queen don’t get me wrong very much enjoyed her on season 7 but god damn she’s got some diehard fans
@@Nick-dm8ft I’m not a die-hard Jaidynn lover myself. That said, I think one of the reasons so many people latch onto her for Season 7 is because they view her as a charismatic, talented DA who was often overlooked due to the storylines on that season. She didn’t factor into a lot of storylines that season, and she seemed like someone they were determined to get out to focus on them. There were some challenges she could’ve placed in the top or even won for, especially that song parody challenge. But given how often and easily she’d break down and how they didn’t see her compared to others, it felt like she wasn’t ready yet. So with the passage of time, a developing of her character, and knowing what people loved about her the first time, there’s a strong argument that Jaidynn could come back and crush an All-Stars season. One thing some DA’s use All-Stars for is to show how much they’ve grown and evolved since we last saw them, and that could be perfect for Jaidynn. All she needs is a chance and enough support from the audience to have her back on.
@@Nick-dm8ft just search up her lip syncs she’s funny why can’t ppl love jaidynn the way ppl love Katya or Trixie? Both from s7 have pretty close eliminations…
@@Nick-dm8ftshe’s so cute and fun and she brings such a great energy to all the episodes she was in so yes ofc we want her back! jaidynn is under appreciated for sure
My theory is that Suga Caine was cast as an early out in season 11 but she actually did better than expected and they had to get rid of her in the most embarrassing way possible with that magic challenge where she outperformed four other girls and still was in the bottom.
My drag race theory is Bebe threw the lip sync against dela cause the producers wanted dela to get her moment she was doing better than dela but then threw her wig
Maybe… The thing that gets me is that Bebe all but said that she didn’t keep up with Drag Race, and, back in the early seasons, taking off your wig represented a way of showing emotion; think of Shannel or Yara, for example. But you might be onto something, we need to hear it from her!
What would have been better for me, it’s if Bebe won and then right when Bebe was about to pull the lip stick out dela comes up from the back of the stage and reveals that she’s going home
@@HeyLetsDoAThing Exactly that’s why I think they tried to get Bebe to throw since dela showed that she lost 3 lip syncs in a row and Bebe eats lip syncs yet Bebe still won
I highly agree with you here. Regardless if others don't like Naomi or they do,(I personally love Naomi) the betch can lip sync. Come rain or come shine IS my all time favorite lip sync she has ever performed, and she fking SLAYED. Latrice was right when she said, "Children, take notes. THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT!" 👏🫰🔥 💜💋✌️🤝✨️
Monet looks like she hurt herself doing that split against Valentina, tbh I just think she was tired that day or not in the right headspace to perform at 100%.
The producers DEFINITELY cast certain queens to go home early on regular seasons too. I won’t say names but I’m sure lots of us have seen a queen at the cast reveal and thought “well they’re not gonna last”
Shes my favorite queen and yeah I agree. I believe she did throw against both Valentina and Naomi for whatever reason, but they probably still would've beat her. Look to ep1 of as7 where Shea does flat out beat Monét. Plus Kameron on s10. So yes, she is beatable. It just takes one hell of a lipsyncer.
The jury twist in AS3 was made so Ru couldn't eliminate Bebe herself, as it would tarnish her win. But it backfired on them when they didn't choose Shangela for the finale either.
I believe legend, icon, the queen who's revolutionized drag race multiple times, naomi smalls is responsible for the double crowning. When the cast of AS4 did that group interview thing in front of an audience (the show that monet had for a hot sec) they asked "what does it take to win, and Naomi Smalls said with her whole chest: "blonde and white?" and everyone started screaming, and mo heart said "facts are facts" (implying a blonde and white queen has definitely won). And trinity basically confirmed her winning by saying "don't look at me bitch". And that clip went a bit viral and everyone did start thinking about the optics of how All Stars usually goes and how crowning a 4th white queen in a row would look. Do i think this is the only thing that lead to this, no. But its a good thinkpiece.
Ppl get mad when ppl say money only won cause she’s black which is false but her win was clearly influenced by there being no black queen in the hall of fame
i agree. them casting Trixie and making it basically inevitable for her to win due to her popularity even though other two queens owned the season (Bendela and Shangela).. their wish to double-triple Trixie's popularity and boost their own brand led to three white blondes in the HOF. (btw Trixie would be fully okay even without the crown) if Shangela was crowned - which was supposed to happen after Bendela's exit - then Trinity would be in the HOF on her own. Monet is in my top 5 queens oat but facts are facts
Jack please do a video on the queens being critiqued after the lockdown break on s2, but also the unfairness of the playing field when some queens can roll into the studio with a £90,000 wardrobe. Its fair to expect the queens to practice on a sewing machine before auditioning, its not fair to expect them to have the money or contacts to compete with big pockets. Jessica Wild "On my season it was whoever had the best forever 21 dress"
Another theory I have is that the voting format was changed to include all the queens votes so that we wouldn't have another Naomi pulling Manila's lip stick moment
This feels like a safe space to say Serena definitely did worse than Trinity, her talent was showing off her wigs with a lil lip sync and the one on her head wasn’t even laid properly 😭
@@joseuribe9273 at least Trinity tried something different, she wrote a comedy routine. Serena literally jumped around on stage for 2 minutes and expected a safe placement lol.
@@birchiebabyit's from a video called something like "Drag queens reading mean comments." Chad pronounced it wrong initially and couldn't stop laughing.
My theory is a theory for a specific type of challenge. The runway challenges (queens wear 2 looks on the runway they brought from home, and do nothing else) are designed to just let production establish storylines as easy as possible and get rid of whoever they like least. It's just not really a challenge so much as it is a metric of how fat your wallet was before the season started and even then you get weird placements that make no sense outside of storylines
My theory is that the reason AS8 only had a top 2 for jimbo and kandy’s songs, is because they had planned a top 3 with Heidi, but she quit and they hadn’t written a song for Jessica wild, so she got booted before the finale.
Maybe but if they planned a top3 with Heidi why mistreat her after she said she was quitting in the ball they would give her good placements no? Heidi’s quit didint shake up anything cause the double Shantay..soooo and they ordered a certain amount of episodes and I don’t think the three lesbians would agree so quickly and be able to get everything ready so quickly
That is not true. They wanted as much queens as possible to be able to enter the fame games which is why they had a top 2 before the finale. My best way to change this would be to film the finale with Jimbo winning and then do the fame games after Kandy is eliminated as the runner-up so that way even she can participate
@@xxXantixx in my opinion they had planned to do a Shea AS7 kind of storyline with Heidi to try and do a 'growth arc' for her. Heidi quit before two performance challenges in a row that played to her skillset, followed by a design challenge where she wasn't going to do worse than Kandy or Lala Ri. After that comes the roast where everyone but the winner (likely still Jimbo) is in the bottom so it would just be the least popular girl that goes home and if Heidi, Kandy and Jimbo have an alliance still at top 4, that's Jessica. I could see the theory.
no way, I really dont think they want Heidi in top 3. Honestly, my teory behind her "quit" is because the production dont reconigze her work in the season and I believe in that because she was safe on episodes that she deservers to be in the top. By what we see, I dont think Heidi should've won any challenge, but she for sure should be in the top in some of them, especially in the ball
This can't be true because Naysha explained when they started writing the songs and they had sessions with each queen who was still in the race at that point so they'd have songs for whoever gets to top 2
Serena Cha Cha’s elimination was still sad for me, despite knowing she would go home first. When Coco reveals her lipstick, you can tell she’s heartbroken. Even after their fight on Season 5, enough years have passed that she didn’t want to eliminate her Season 5 sister. 😞 Also, she had a good lip sync against Jiggly Caliente, the only non-Silky lip sync in the entire tournament.
Regarding the "Test the audience's perception of a DA by an LSA or Pit Stop appearance", I think they did that with Shannel on AS8. She got a pretty good reception, and now she's (allegedly) coming back for All-Stars 9. Maybe that's what happened with Roxxxy Andrews after she was well-received for her LSA turn on AS5, but she only was available to do All-Stars 9. I wonder if, sorta like with Laganja, if Jasmine Kennedie or AjA were invited for All-Stars 9 as well, but turned it down for one reason or another. Laganja keeps turning it down when asked, and I wonder if they're saving Jasmine for whenever they bring Daya Betty back on (sorta like bringing Farrah Moan and Valentina together for AS4 after their reunion fight, or what allegedly happened with trying to bring Nina Bo'Nina Brown on AS5 to compete against Shea again).
They set her up, I'm convinced. She had been rehearsing this big Janet Jackson number then at the last minute production pulled it saying they didn't get the license for the song
I like to imagine every winning contestant having a 180 IQ, and strategizing the craziest ideas at home..so on set, every episode is like house of cards.
My drag race theory is that after Serena's talent show there was a 16.5 minute standing ovation. Michelle had tears in her eyes. After that Ru decided it was only fair to send her home or there wouldnt be any "competition". Ru gave her the title as honorary ALL STAR and 100,000 doll hairs. Not dollars doll hairs. They also wanted to use "drag money" as the finale song but couldnt afford the rights to it. This was all confirmed by other queens that were cast and Willam....
I guess a theory of mine is that for UkS2 they completely discounted Awhora and didn't give her the storyline that Gigi and Aquaria got of "fashion queen coming into the competition happens to be extremely versatile and could win!" because they didn;t think she'd last that long and wanted lawrence to win all along:/ she deserved that recognition cause she only did bad in the standup and, i hate to say it, tayce could've gone home since it was her 4th time in the bottom (i'm pretty sure but like even then 3 is enough and we knew she wasn't going to win) but she literally had the best track record and they just let her go. btw i love lawrence and love that they won, i hate production for this lol
It was redemption for Valentina. The lip sync was hers to lose and she lived it. Like Dida Ritz ‘This Will Be’, THIS was high, high drag. Monet is great but she didn’t ‘throw’ anything. Give a great performance by a great performer their due.
My fringe conspiracy theory is that Raja threw the makeover episode to some extent in season 3. For someone of Raja’s expertise, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense that she would do that bad a job. She definitely was exhausted the entire episode and didn’t connect at all with her partner, and I think it quickly became clear that Carmen was definitely going to be in the bottom since her plan was just to do nudity on a guy with a manly, stocky build. Raja knew there was absolutely no way Carmen wasn’t going home that challenge and her own partner wasn’t working out, so I think she decided to intentionally throw it so that she could have a fun and sexy lip sync with Carmen and also give her sister the satisfaction of being sent home by a Heather.
I could see that. I've heard something theorized along those lines about Robbie Turner in the roller girls runway. She bombed the acting challenge to show off her skating
Oh yeah, there is no way someone like Bebe would EVER remove her wig during a performance unless she was told to. We all know production saw Dela with the white out and immediately had dollar signs in their eyes
The most outrageous theory for me is that Bebe poisoned Bob's absolute vodka on All Winners 2. Like, Bebe would never touch a commoner's glass, she obviously asked Blair St. Clair to do it for her. 🤷♀
My favorite niche theory is that Drag Race itself is an reworked idea from a 2001 Italian TV show called "Tacchi a Spillo" Allegedly even rupaul appeared in it, but the show is lost media, id love to see you talk about it though!
“First out” - is true! I can 100% confirm that! On every reality show, when producers talking about cast, they knew who’s gonna be “first out” and who’s “fan favourite” to eliminate her unfairly for “backlash” which will helped create “memorable moment” and of course they knew who’s gonna be at the final. This is how EVERY reality tv is working!
Ru having to miss an episode of UK4 because of another filming obligation was planned or at least they took advantage of it so they could test Michelle and Raven on the panel together.
I think the truth is in the middle with Sister Sister. I don't believe she consciously copied Awhora; I think she saw a huge ketchup-dipped fry in the workroom, and months later it led her to independently come up with the idea. Newspaper-wrapped fish & chips is kind of a British seaside staple (even though it's been outlawed for 30 years), it's hardly shocking that two people came up with it -- especially if Sister Sister saw part of Awhora's outfit to plant the idea in her head.
Alexis eliminated Lala so she could win the fame games. Alexis knew producers wanted Kandy in the finale, and knew that eliminating Lala would ramp up fan support for her and lead her to victory. She also knew fans would be mad but would rather take the wrath from Lala's fans than from Kandy's rabid diehards
this makes so much sense to me!! we know Alexis is good TV (love her so much) but she knocked it out of the park in terms of "making memorable moments" with AS8, which is ultimately want producers want, as said by some other comments. I'll never be able to think of Lala's elimination any other way now.
Yvie in my opinion has become one of the most robbed queens of all time. There were so many challenges she was snubbed of a win in All Stars 7, in a lot of ways she had the most to prove, and wasnt given the flowers. She is my She Done Already Done Had Herses (sp?) winner personally.
No yvie was completely fine on as7, same with jaida Who people think has been robbed. Yvie Is talented and deserved to win but the placements She got were 100% Fair. In a season with Monet, trinity, the viv, raja, Shea, jinkx, She did the best She could do.
There have been so many times I've been like "omg I have the best idea, totally original, never been done before," and I tell someone about it, and they say "so like this?" I'm pretty sure that's what happened with Sister Sister.
definitely and (fish and) chips is such a big thing in the uk it’s not very surprising multiple queens would do a look inspired by it (even Joe Black had a chips accessory for her look that week)
I feel like they didn’t include Deja’s solo lip sync cause it was probably boring 😭 like I know her fallen lipsync was great but the other one she did was kind of lacklustre and solo lipsyncs in general are a lot less exciting (unless it’s silky doing a whole gender bending Barbie lip sync, but something tells me this lip sync wasn’t quite like that)
I know season 2 has that slap but I still don’t believe Ru is really going into the workroom on a regular basis on Down Under! Sorry, it looks way too fishy
Did Monet throw both of those lip syncs? Sure, I can’t believe that…but only for one specific reason: Monet is smart and she knows exactly what she’s doing. For the Valentina lip sync, she could see the writing on the wall…Valentina was about to get her rudemption moment. And since Farrah was in the bottom, Monet knows it would have been so much more dramatic for Valentina to eliminate her. Everyone knew it was Farrah’s time to go, so it would have been easy to see how things would turn out no matter who was in the top that week. And even soft throwing that lip sync still means she got to be a part of an iconic moment. Also, for the lip sync against Naomi…I’m fully convinced that Monet’s strategy for AS4 was to never put herself in a position to eliminate the competition so that she would a) have less of a target on her back and b) not have to feel the wrath of the fans. Monet is very strategic and smart, she knew exactly what she was doing on her journey to snatching that crown. And throw or no throw, she is absolutely one of the most entertaining lip sync artists in the entire franchise.
Monet will have the pettiest arguments with Bob, even when she knows she's wrong, she'll still argue to win. But she's someone who would repeatedly throw lip syncs? Come on now.
@@ringa_ringa_ling obviously. but one is no stakes and one is much higher stakes, doesn't make sense that she could be bribed or convinced to throw a lip sync.
I think that paying off sounds too complicated tbh. I could easily imagine Monet just seeing what production would be going for when it was an Ariana song for Valentina and just give a good performance and save it for later. Then like you said, playing it a little safe with the Manila elimination for fan reaction and in case there was any kind of jury again.
I don't believe the Monet throwing the lip syncs one at all. Especially the Judy one. She literally performed in an emulation of Judy perfectly, but Just bc she didn't go super ham like Naomi or do a split or whatever, the fans didn't like it and assumed she threw it. When like, the song on its face doesn't call for splits and tricks and stuff.
Even if they didn’t ask/pay Monet to throw the lip sync, Valentina would have won to get the Arianademption arc. Monet was most likely just not feeling it that day, but let’s not forget to celebrate and give credit to our Latina queens.
was it rigged that the lipsync song, for a week where Valentina was TOP 2, was by Ariana Grande, when the judges were fucking Ciara and Kacey fucking Musgraves? yes. did Monét throw the Into You lipsync? absolutely not. she's a good lipsyncer but she's vastly overhyped and one avenue where she always lacks is sultry/romantic; Valentina swept, wiped, mopped, rinsed and vacuumed Monét. did Monét throw the Come Rain Come Shine? absolutely positive, she just was the backup reassurance that one way or another Manila was getting booted, but she by no means wanted to have in her hands the wood block on fire, thus throwing the lipsync. Naomi would've beaten her nevertheless though.
I completely disagree with you about Raja winning AS7, respectfully. I think praising Raja is one of the few uncontroversial things in the fandom, so people just keep repeating that she did so well and it becomes an echo chamber. I think some of her looks and performances were bad, but she definitely had great moments too. I just don’t agree with how highly people rate her on that season.
The one I’m convinced of (but it’s my theory lol) was that season 6. They had wanted to get rid of Milk no matter what after the Ru runway, so TKB was put in the bottom cause the producers knew she would win and although Darianne had a worse verse and a worse runway, they weren’t sure she could beat Milk
My conspiracy theory is: every all stars winner was hand picked except for 4: Trixie, Monét, Trinity and Kylie. Interestingly most are considered "weak" winners. Chad, Alaska, Shea and Jimbo were gonna win no matter what. Not diminishing them in any way, i firmly believe every winner of drag race deserves it in some way. But its still super coincidental.
My only comment is that I don't think we can count Kylie Sonique Love as an Early Out by the time she did her AS6 run, as at that point she had already done Pit Stop (and was one of the better received guests there) and was one of the highlights of the Ru Christmas Special. The audience were already clamoring for her to come back, so Production knew people would love for her to win. Her being the first trans winner was just icing on the cake, as it certainly felt like the timing was right to "crown" a trans winner.
Jack you sat behind me at the S14 reunion!! I remember looking behind my chair and being in complete disbelief that you were right there! Love your videos :)
Not only did Raja deserve her prize from the body of work she presented, she also won less than any of the others there had, so it helped fill that gap. Like an apology for not having the bigger budget yet then, plus inflation. But she DID earn it from how she performed, it wasn't a hand out.
naomi and valentina were winning those lip syncs 100% regardless of how monet performed for storyline reasons so i think monet just went along with what she knew the producers wanted and just played it low. and i also think she threw her first all stars 7 lip sync against shea
Mine is that Silky had no idea who Miley was when she went undercover in the work room. She just saw the cameras following someone in a bad disguise and hamed it up.
a bit besides the point but I still think Danny and Cheddar should’ve been a double crowning, we’ve had lots of close runs across the franchises but I don’t think two queens have ever dominated the competition the whole time like they did, and they’re both drag legends in the UK so they both would’ve made great winners. Love Danny so much but I need to see Cheddar win a crown some time because she’s unreal
I've had it with the Come Rain or Come Shine disrespect lmao. Monet was giving Judy Garland realness! I think she was going for a sort of Latrice-esque emotional moment but Naomi's over the top comedvibe just overpowered it.
monet definitely threw her lip sync against valentina, which is probably why she didn’t land in the bottom the week after for her HORRIBLE whitney snatch game
As if Valentina just stood there and did a Charlie Hydes 🙄 The Girl turned it hard regardless and Monet would've had an absolute fight on her hands to even win that one.
If you haven’t seen this theory yet: the Miss Congeniality “voting hacking” for season 10 was orchestrated by production after season 9 and the cast reactions to Valentina winning and calling her Fan Fave. Messing with the fan votes let production then change it to be voted by the other contestants instead of fans, being because of s9 without outright saying it was because of s9, and then they also could make joking US political references with election interferences through that specific method. But because of how severe the backlash was from some of the other S9 queens to Valentina winning miss congeniality, changing the system for s10 was really the best option for production if they could have another excuse, so they made it seem the fan votes were hacked (bc is it even hacking if they changed it on their own end?)
idk i remember people using bots to vote for miss congeniality on s10 so in a way it really was hacked 😭 (people were also voting for the vixen as a joke, and i don’t think production would’ve let her win)
One thing I don't agree is that Raja should be in top 4 in AS7. Judges were praising her more than she deserved in many challenges, only because she is one of the OG winners. The Vivienne was one who should be in the finale over Shea. Only Yvie and Jaida performed weaker than Raja during the season.
I think im in the minority but i really think that a double crowning can help a season and be the best ending possible. It cant be frequent but sometimes its just the best option. I think that in the entire rupaul part of the franchise (us, uk, as and du) there were only 2 maybe 3 times were a double crowning would be better than just one winner: - raja and manila - danny and cheddar - maybe chad and channel since their were a pair on as1
I'm definitely gonna agree on a Shad double crowning because, otherwise, what was even the point of the Team twist, it just feels like a slap to Shannel's own face
@@willunawonderland5453i very much disagree. They needed to just pick one. Camden had the best track record by far but willow had the most fan support. Crowning them both wouldnt make sense narrative wise and would lead to hate for one of them. Also a double crowning on a season with a brand new finale format is not the best idea. I think that a double crowning should be reserved for queens who are neck and neck like cheddar and danny (track record). Crowning 2 queens for different reasons (track record and fan reception/finale preformace) would automatically discredit the other
I don't think Monet threw the lipsync with Valentina. She's an INCREDIBLE lipsyncer, yes, but no one is always going to do 100% well in every lipsync with every song. I do think there was producer influence on putting the Ariana song then though when they knew Valentina would be one of the ones on top that week, to work that redemption storyline.
Some all stars seasons have themes: all stars 3 is fan faves vs villains, all stars 4 is frenemies, all stars 5 early vs newer seasons, all stars 6 is queens with cult following, all stars 8 is early outs vs cut before the finale
For Production, queens cannot go over 3 consecutive weeks without getting critiques. They either get randomized high or bottom placements that we as the audience can notice as BS. Season 15 was a perfect example of this. Robin, Salina and Malasya, got their first critiques in the same episode with Salina and Malasya on questionable placements. The only queen on the franchise that is the exception of this rule was Daya Betty, but because that was Daya's storyline, to get her frustrated so she can be shady against Jasmine and Jorgeus. ✨😬
there’s some tea that as4 had a double crowning because production wanted trinity to win but fans had been complaining about a lack of diversity in the hall of fame
I know Kandy said this before but it’s that production threw GotMiks sewing challenge outfit in the garbage before the runway because they thought it was scraps and had to fish through the bins to get it back; because there is no way that should’ve won the challenge when even production thought it was trash fabrics
The AS3 voting was an emergency button, because i refuse to believe that they would keep it considering Dela's run. In the moment their frontrunner left, they needed something to make the winner not a “Deleftover”. And the voting was perfect for this issue. >The top 2 is not Ru's decision so nobody would trash her for no reason >The voters are likeable queens such as ChiChi, Thorgy, Aja, so there is not such issue as the fans hunting queens for their decisions >Queens who got in the top 2 got reasonable (Kennedy) and huge (Trixie) fanbases >No matter who they voted, Ru could give the crown to whoever she felt because the lipsync for the crown really meant something after surviving the mob vote
I’m confused about the AS4 comment “another 100k doesn’t come out of no where”. By that time Id imagine they were making more than enough to give 250k to the winner and 50k to all the other contestants. Drag race is a huge reality show it makes a lot of money
My conspiracy theory is that production genuinely thought/wanted Laganja to send home Joslyn in the Stupid Girls lip sync. Joslyn didn't have much of a storyline at that point, whereas Laganja had interesting relationships with several queens on the season. I see this as a similar situation to The Vixen's run on S10. Bombed Snatch Game, had it out with almost everyone on the cast in Untucked, but won the lip sync. In the next episode, she reconciled with Asia and the two lip synced, resulting in Vixen leaving on a high note instead of a low note. With this, Laganja would've bombed the Stand Up challenge, had it out with almost everyone on the cast in Untucked, but wins the lip sync. In the next episode, she reconciles with Adore and the two lip sync, resulting in Laganja leaving on a high note instead of a low note.
Mine is that in finales perfomances with original songs, producers give the catchiest and most memorable ones to the queen they want to win. Willow's I Hate People and Sasha's Godess.
If this is true, that’s for the recent seasons but not when they did it back in s8 😅 I love Bob and her performance in the finale was awesome, but her song isn’t nearly as catchy or memorable as either Naomi or Kim’s
Yvie clearly butchered the wig reveal when she lip synced against raja. She went with it and tried to make it work like a pro but it was clearly still butchered AF and not what she intended on doing.
I think you all think Monét too much credit by taking away how much better the other queens did on those lip syncs. She is fierce, but if you’ve followed Monét, she would never give up a challenge. She is super competitive!
I think Monet threw both lip syncs because she saw what happened in AS3 with the jury vote and was worried AS4 would have the same twist. She wanted that top placement, but didn’t want to get Shangela’d by eliminating queens who would want to vote her out later.
How did Monet throw the lipsync... She just did a different approach to the song. She mouthed and emoted every single word, and had a really cute reveal with the umbrella. She parked and barked, that doesn't mean she threw the lipsync. Why would she do a stunt in any of her lipsyncs if she wanted to throw them? Had she been up against another queen and just moved around a little more, Monet could've won.
she had a stunt to make good tv but when youre lipsyncing against someone you want to keep up with them in one way or another. come rain or come shine is a very high tempo song not the song to “park and bark” too especially when naomi is slaying the song with both her look and her choreo. monet has proven she does high tempo songs better than most anyone else but she chose to emote? she threw
The Into You lip sync by Valentina is one of the most unique performances we've seen in a lip sync. Similar to Jorgeous's Ava Max performance, Valentina was using moves we haven't seen anybody do before on that stage. People can love Monet all day long but it's fact that she often does rely on the same or very simple gimmicks in her lip syncs. The performance didn't not need to have a reveal or like that silly Mariah Carrey high note movement. You can see all the queens in the back living for Valentina. It's just nuts that fans pretend Monet had to be paid off to lose.
Another factor that could have caused extra motivation for eliminating Serena is the reputation of her wig business (her ripping people off and that it affected queens that were competing against her)
My theory is that WOW didnt expect Sasha Colby to be as good as she was in the competition but still wanted her to win. She got alot of wins she didnt deserve so they could justify her winning but she didnt need their help.
Mine WAS a theory but it's been confirmed and just that producers make sure every finale has at least one queen of colour and at least one big girl. Like, they literally do that.
My favorite part of the A’Whora/Sister Sister beef on UK2 was A’Whora going on to win the unconventional materials runway while doing a face mask look similar to Sister Sister’s signature lip look she did for her entrance look ajsnwjnd
The Monet and Trinity double win although extremely polarizing, is retroactively a great move. From the onset they already cleared the all white winners Hall of Fame accusations and then when the All Winners came Monet and Trinity gave good TV. Monet and Trinity both have distinct drag personalities, fashion sense, lipsyncing style, approach to comedy and are great for reality TV that they both deserved to be showcased as winners of the franchise.
Theory: WOW doesn’t cast older queens; though many are more established, would have genuine REAL work room chemistry, and wouldn’t require forced storylines or production meddling like these baby “bra and panty” young queens!
Trixie actually said in her documentary that she and Kennedy filmed a double crowning
I think a double crowning could’ve worked for a different season but it just didn’t work for Monét & Trinity the way the producers wanted it to.
filming a double crowning for them and not one for all stars 4 is just wild tbh
@@Dij7897Bianca would have walked off the show
@@leovivas4252 uhhh, I don’t think so based off of interviews since that season.
I think this was definitely a part of it
THAT PART🥴
Exactly because anyway you put it she did better than Kennedy and Trixie so she had to make Top 2. Which wouldn’t have felt bad being a runner up to Shangela the uncrowned queen
I don’t think it was just that, it was to give them an excuse if the queens did vote Bebe to top 2. If she did the best and got the vote to win again, then you can crown her again and it feels deserved. Otherwise, it’s because the queens wanted to celebrate other girls, and that works too.
@@joseuribe9273but that would’ve been such a killer storyline. First eliminated on season 2 to beating the OG winner years later

Her season was the first i ever watched, and i have been in love with her since. I cant waittttt for her to be on all stars

My theory is that Suga Caine was cast as an early out in season 11 but she actually did better than expected and they had to get rid of her in the most embarrassing way possible with that magic challenge where she outperformed four other girls and still was in the bottom.
Still soooo mad about her elimination. They should have kept her and Vanjie.
The suga cain thing was BS. That whole season was just about getting Silky and Vanji to the end at all costs
As much as she didn't deserve to be in the bottom, she got eaten alive in the lip-sync against Vanessa.
My drag race theory is Bebe threw the lip sync against dela cause the producers wanted dela to get her moment she was doing better than dela but then threw her wig
Maybe…
The thing that gets me is that Bebe all but said that she didn’t keep up with Drag Race, and, back in the early seasons, taking off your wig represented a way of showing emotion; think of Shannel or Yara, for example.
But you might be onto something, we need to hear it from her!
What would have been better for me, it’s if Bebe won and then right when Bebe was about to pull the lip stick out dela comes up from the back of the stage and reveals that she’s going home
This is canon in my head
Bebe still won even taking off the wig. That's the real conspiracy
@@HeyLetsDoAThing Exactly that’s why I think they tried to get Bebe to throw since dela showed that she lost 3 lip syncs in a row and Bebe eats lip syncs yet Bebe still won

The jury twist in AS3 was made so Ru couldn't eliminate Bebe herself, as it would tarnish her win. But it backfired on them when they didn't choose Shangela for the finale either.
Considering everything that is going on with Shangela, maybe it’s a good thing she didn’t win.
We need to accept that our definition of a lip sync assassin and the show’s definition are not the same. It’ll save us a lot of pain lol.

Bullshet, Sistah, Bullshet is one of the most underrated quotes ever it's so random but I love it sm

Sooo so correct with the argument the UK Season queens deserved double crownings
I love the teory that in AS4 we have a new "Rolaskatox" group between Monet, Naomi and Mo called MoMoMi. Just so iconic
"i don't really think the producers can bank on a queen bombing in the talent show and being an easy first out."
coco would like a word...
I love the rumour that Spankie Jackson took her crown to work at daycare and let the kids wear it!
I always thought Ellies stand up was way worse. They wanted americanised style humor not British and yeah awhora wasn't the best but I thought better
They also discounted Bimini early in the season not expecting her to kill the 2nd half and eliminated Joe Black unfairly imo.
Production told Bebe to throw the lipsync against Ben so she could self eliminate and no one can convince me otherwise
That one
Oh yeah, there is no way someone like Bebe would EVER remove her wig during a performance unless she was told to. We all know production saw Dela with the white out and immediately had dollar signs in their eyes

My favorite niche theory is that Drag Race itself is an reworked idea from a 2001 Italian TV show called "Tacchi a Spillo"
Allegedly even rupaul appeared in it, but the show is lost media, id love to see you talk about it though!
I felt that way about Viv. She murdered the whole season but they obviously wanted Jinx at the top
Raja should have won more stars tbh. The design challenge? Hers. She was funnier than trinity at times in the snatch game.

I think that paying off sounds too complicated tbh. I don't believe the Monet throwing the lip syncs one at all. Especially the Judy one. She literally performed in an emulation of Judy perfectly, but Just bc she didn't go super ham like Naomi or do a split or whatever, the fans didn't like it and assumed she threw it. When like, the song on its face doesn't call for splits and tricks and stuff.
omg the monet throwing DELUSION dahling
The last one is quite controversial. Props to you Jack for being brave and including it
I completely disagree with you about Raja winning AS7, respectfully.
Valentina also just... Did her talent show routine over again for the lip sync.
So?
naomi and valentina were winning those lip syncs 100% regardless of how monet performed for storyline reasons so i think monet just went along with what she knew the producers wanted and just played it low. and i also think she threw her first all stars 7 lip sync against shea
Love Danny so much but I need to see Cheddar win a crown some time because she’s unreal
yeah cheddar and camden both i think
I've had it with the Come Rain or Come Shine disrespect lmao. Monet was giving Judy Garland realness! I think she was going for a sort of Latrice-esque emotional moment but Naomi's over the top comedvibe just overpowered it.
monet definitely threw her lip sync against valentina, which is probably why she didn’t land in the bottom the week after for her HORRIBLE whitney snatch game
Still crazy to me that Valentina somehow ended up in the bottom over Monet and Latrice
Monet won't even throw an argument with Bob when she knows she's wrong, but everyone is convinced that she would throw a lip sync? Please.
@@1bwashthey like to discredit everything val does 🙄 jealousy is rly a disease
As if Valentina just stood there and did a Charlie Hydes 🙄 The Girl turned it hard regardless and Monet would've had an absolute fight on her hands to even win that one.
Monet has admitted to being paid to throw a lipsync during an episode of rivalry

I literally just rewatched the Valentina vs Monet lip sync like an hour ago and now you posted a video talking about it lol
The last theorie: the shade the shade of it all
hiiii jaack
One thing I don't agree is that Raja should be in top 4 in AS7. Judges were praising her more than she deserved in many challenges, only because she is one of the OG winners. The Vivienne was one who should be in the finale over Shea. Only Yvie and Jaida performed weaker than Raja during the season.
I think im in the minority but i really think that a double crowning can help a season and be the best ending possible. It cant be frequent but sometimes its just the best option. I think that in the entire rupaul part of the franchise (us, uk, as and du) there were only 2 maybe 3 times were a double crowning would be better than just one winner:
- raja and manila
- danny and cheddar
- maybe chad and channel since their were a pair on as1
I'm definitely gonna agree on a Shad double crowning because, otherwise, what was even the point of the Team twist, it just feels like a slap to Shannel's own face
and i think camden and willow for sure.
my theory is that Art Simone was brought back into the competition to keep scarlet from winning, because they found out about her past
there’s some tea that as4 had a double crowning because production wanted trinity to win but fans had been complaining about a lack of diversity in the hall of fame
I know Kandy said this before but it’s that production threw GotMiks sewing challenge outfit in the garbage before the runway because they thought it was scraps and had to fish through the bins to get it back; because there is no way that should’ve won the challenge when even production thought it was trash fabrics
Gaurd your Loins Jack is back!! 💕💕💕
The AS3 voting was an emergency button, because i refuse to believe that they would keep it considering Dela's run.
In the moment their frontrunner left, they needed something to make the winner not a “Deleftover”. And the voting was perfect for this issue.
>The top 2 is not Ru's decision so nobody would trash her for no reason
>The voters are likeable queens such as ChiChi, Thorgy, Aja, so there is not such issue as the fans hunting queens for their decisions
>Queens who got in the top 2 got reasonable (Kennedy) and huge (Trixie) fanbases
>No matter who they voted, Ru could give the crown to whoever she felt because the lipsync for the crown really meant something after surviving the mob vote
Drag race has literally altered my brain cause I randomly say “chad about to die”
CHAD ABOUT TO DIE
"Sasha Colby is taking over Ru Paul as the host of drag race"
One theory I have is certain queens with a big reputation outside of the show who apply and get cast on the show are ensured a spot in the finale.
Another factor that could have caused extra motivation for eliminating Serena is the reputation of her wig business (her ripping people off and that it affected queens that were competing against her)
TKB was robbed. She should’ve won the halftime show challenge, meaning she would’ve had the most wins to be top 4 instead of being eliminated.
My theory is that WOW didnt expect Sasha Colby to be as good as she was in the competition but still wanted her to win. She got alot of wins she didnt deserve so they could justify her winning but she didnt need their help.
I forgot about Ellie Diamond as a seagull in a bikini lol
Theory: WOW doesn’t cast older queens; though many are more established, would have genuine REAL work room chemistry, and wouldn’t require forced storylines or production meddling like these baby “bra and panty” young queens!
people are STILL hating on the double crowning? oh brother 😴
surely i can’t be the only one who was happy about it 😭
There’s at list three of us here 😅
