It’s part of the Insta360 app so it’s not separate. It only works with newer model phones as well as there are hardware limitations.

Basically, they co-opted some of the easier to use and more intuitive GoPro MAX Quik editing.....good news
Yes the GoPro version is great as you can turn your phone landscape as well

It will only appear if your phone is fast/new enough apparently so this maybe the problem

Great video. I agree with you that the Snap mode is the preferred editing method. I did notice, however, when I select Export in Snap editing mode there is NO option to select the RESOLUTION. Verses Edit mode, where Export prompts you for options for Resolution, Frame Rate and Bit Rate. I further confirmed on my camera roll that reframe clips exported from Snap mode were only 1920 x 1080 whereas clips exported from Edit mode were full 4K (3840 x 2160). Do you experience this same export limitation with your app? Is there a way to export edits made in Snap mode at higher resolutions than 1920 x 1080.
As I understand it the camera's max 5.7K resolution is spread over the entire recording area. Therefore the max resolution you'll ever get is 2850 pixels (with the remaining 2850 pixels "lost" to the footage behind you that not in view). But downscaling to 1920 pixels for export is still giving up about 1/3 of the possible resolution.
Does this work with gopro 360?
May (I know the app version (Android) and the Insta 360 firmware you're having? I've updated to the latest but for some reason I'm not seeing this 'edit' option when I open a file in my insta360 app
iOS 1.8.2 and android I think 1.8.0
Can't see snap/edit either, latest version android 1.8.0. Maybe it s only available on IOS?
Just found out that snap edit depends on your phone, it is not available in the app if the phone does not has a powerful processor

Hi, thanks for the video. My snap keeps stopping and continues. What should I do. Also, sometimes itbdies not let me move forward tge original clip to start recording from wherever I want. So It only let me start from the beginning (Not always)
Snap is only compatible with the latest phones - this could be the problem. You can use viewfinder mode which does a similar thing. Go to add a keyframe and select viewfinder mode and you can then edit the same way as the snap wizard.
@@EatSleep360 I have the S21 Ultra. The problem I have is that I have to let the video seat on snap without doing anything before start the snap recording at first it plays the video being edited smoothly but after sometimes it starts to pause and play pause and play.
When I select a video clip I do not see the snap or edit selection button nor the play button. It just starts playing.
The snap feature won’t appear if your phone isn’t high enough spec - I didn’t realise this when I made this video. You can try viewfinder mode which is pretty much the same thing. Select the + icon to add a keyframe and it will come up as an option.
Dear Eat Sleep 360: what smartphone do you use to install the Insta360 application for editing?
iPhone XS - there are hardware limitations so some phones aren’t compatible. I didn’t realise this until afterwards.
How to post video that I edit on PC to insta360 android app?
You could upload to Google drive and then download on your phone, you could email it if it’s short, you could use a sandisk usb stick with usb to usb c and plug it into your phone. You then can import it from your phones album into the story editor.

Bought this camera 2 years ago and have used it once. The editing is too damn hard on an iphone and unless something has changed recently using the editing provided for pc was pathetic. It's a shame.
This style of editing does make it easier. I agree about the pc software - it’s very limited - thanks for the comment

Yes that’s a good point - an iPad would be easier but more expense if you haven’t got one already
@@hizzlemobizzle And some people just hate mobile phones in the first place. Having powerful PC/MacOS software should be their primary focus if they really want it to be adopted by serious videographers rather than just the Insta crowd.

I for some reason thought in a previous video you indicated that export was only 720 P is that the case it didn’t look like it via your text that you placed on one of the screens was that a change i.e. an upgrade firmware? Or was I just misinterpreting which is likely very likely the case
Yes you are absolutely right - Insta quietly brought out an update a couple of days ago as well as an update to the card reader - I’ll put it in my community feed 👍🏼

You will need a third party app - Davinci resolve is free and I think they have a 360 plug-in

I don't have these new features, are they in an app update? Not getting the Snap and Edit at the top of the screen.
Seems to be up to date in Google play store

Completely new to action cameras. Can you edit the 360 video using Final Cut Pro, or do you have to use their app to edit?
You can get a plug-in for Adobe premiere and Final Cut Pro

Can you add clips together in the app, so you can make use of the music library?
You can use the story editor in the app to join clips together
