You can paint bait fish on the bottom of your boat to attract bigger fish. It works. We used silver, gold and black spray paint and a stencil we made. I've seen cobia swim up to look at them. If you made some bait shaped mylar stickers it would be even better. I know it sounds crazy but bait shapes painted on the bottom really works. Have you tried the electronic shark repellent that clips on your line or a surfboard? Might save your fish from jaws..
Adam I live and work in Jupiter and I have a 28ft Cobia at Jupiter Pointe and I'm born and raised here so I know how fully F'n out of control the sharks have gotten. I'm 50 and I've had 6 boats in those yrs and this is 20 times the amount of sharks there were 10 yrs ago....fully over it!
Years ago I was on vacay in St. Martins and we swam out to a trampoline from the beach . There was a 4 foot barracuda underneath cooling in the shade . everyone on the trampoline assured us that it wouldn't bother you if you got in the water , but those jokers have some serious teeth on them so I declined and wondered how I was going to swim back to shore , or was I going to have to wait until it left . All of the sudden it shot towards a couple boarding a jet ski about 300 feet away , and halfway there it turned around and came back. Turns out the girl had an ankle bracelet on and that's what woke the barracuda and made him dart in their direction, and I learned a valuable lesson . Don't go swimming in the ocean wearing shiny jewelry . Anyway , Keep cranking them out . Love your videos and your enthusiasm
I grew up on Oahu, we called tourists shark bait, the same principle that sun reflects of shiny objects. But that was in the 60s and 70s, very few shark attacks around the islands. I've fished offshore PBC for 34 years, damn sharks are getting thick.

There are more sharks now than I’ve seen anytime in the last 30 years. The pendulum has swung and they think they’ve gone a bit far with the shark conservation efforts. I have mates on the Gold Coast in Australia having the same issues.
Same here in the Maldives, sharks make it hard to do any kind of recreational ocean fishing. Locals took it up on themselves to catch and process Sharks to keep them in control.
Commercial shark fishing needs to come back for at least a few years, every grocery store is selling shark steaks. It would help the economy, and slow the shark issue down a little, we have the right governor to make it happen. Great video guys, keep up the good work, stay safe and Merry Christmas.

What's so wrong of horsing fish in? I mean I trained for years to get as fast as I am but now my lines and hooks and everythin' allows me to get fish in VERY fast, caught a 6 foot 6 inch European catfish in 3-5 minutes before.... To me the sharks just add thrill and I like havin'to horse fish in, to me that's more fun....
I’ve found if you’re offshore and there’s no structure for them to get hung in, you’ll have better odds of landing the fish because you’re not putting as much strain on your terminal gear/the fish’s mouth
