I am convinced that I need to travel down this road🙄. The video that Rick posted in the early a.m. today and this one from you and many others from the past. I just never thought we would all be living in these ridiculous times where ammo prices going thru the roof and reloading supplies are impossible to find. Thanks for posting Ray😁 have yourself a wonderful Sunday😉👊👍
I've noticed a number of comments about the cost of these rifles. Fair enough, but we all prioritize our spending and it just depends on how badly you want this level of rifle. These guys are obviously making a fine product or they couldn't charge their prices. I guess one of these custom rifles will be on everyone's list for Christmas, 2021. Hopefully, everything will be up and running by then. Nice video.
I recently bought a Bergara B-14R. No it's not in the same class as Vudoo, but it's affordable on a retirement fixed income budget and shoots extremely well with CCI Standard Vel. OEM trigger is 2.5 lbs out of the box, very little creep. I got a TriggerTech Black Friday Rem 700 Special that I bought with the intention that it might end up on this rifle
I appreciate the comment Snakeman! The whole point of the video was to talk about and showcase some of the higher end .22’s, but at the same time, promote the rimfire sports in general. Use what you have just like I did on the first one. I didn’t think I would like it so much.
Ray. Voodoo is a custom rifle. Probably one of the best. Bergara. CZ. are factory. Rifles. I have Bergara love it. But I totally agree Voodoo you’re probably gonna need one. With popularity of it. So I’m getting one. Keeping Bergara for a loner rifle. Once again. Great video. B
Thanks Bryan and that Is a great point. I guess it really depends how far someone wants to pursue it. Even in PRS with centerfire chamberings almost everyone shoots a custom build of some sort. Thanks for watching and commenting on the video.
Hello Andrew! Thank you for providing those at so many matches! I have given many of them away to good friends. Thank you for watching the channel as well!
I have two Czs, 455 and a 457 and they both work good at 100. I wish I would have started out with the Bergara instead. Just wish I could up grade to a Vudoo but being retired and at 70 years young it's not much of a chance.
Where I live: 223 is always more than 1$ for single round 7.62 by 39 is 4.5$ for single round .22LR is 60 cents per single round 9mm is 60 cents per single round .45 is also 60 cents per single round Last but not least is 5000 $ for a Glock 19 gen 3 .... You guys in the US are still lucky no matter what 😳 .. enjoy what you have and protect your Gun Rights.
I usually feel my credit card crying when I watch X ring vids. But I have no problem exercising some restraint when it comes to a Vudoo. My CZ457 Pro Varmint is just fine.
Great video very informative I live in the UK I am looking the Barrett fieldcraft rifle in 308 but it's only with a 18in barrel any thoughts on the rifle
Please need advice. Ordered my Ravage. Still 15 weeks out. I have a new vortex with 40 mm tube. Ray what rings would you recommend. Live your vids. Thank you
Ray, I noticed that rails for 22lr are offered from 20, 30, 40, 60 MOA. Any suggestions or rules of thumb for selecting one that would work well at most competitions?
So i have the Vudoo in MPA Chassis question what does the weights do for you, does it keep gun from moving when you pull the trigger like slight muzzle jump and keep you on target how is it when you have to shot off hand a lot of weight? Some of the match i attend there always a off hand station i had to build up just to shoot what i have and it heavy can’t imagine adding weights
Hello Carey, awesome question. I was told to try to get the rifle balanced just forward of the mag well. This way, it has a neutral balance when on a barricade etc. Now offhand is going to be pretty heavy and that’s the downside of it. Not sure if we are doing it correctly but this is what I am being led to believe.
I am thinking about getting a tikka t1x in 22LR. They are availiable in 15,75“ and 20“ Barrellength. I want to shoot subsonic as well as faster ammo. Which length would you recommend? Thanks!
Xring...you start off talking about costs..and then jump into promoting a $1750 rimfire barrel plus a trigger. So now we are at $2k. And then say you cant outshooting it with a CZ.This makes no sense except to someone who make their living shooting. I normally agree with you but cant on this promition. When Fun games cost too much..they stop being fun.It turns into a job with no paycheck.
I hear what you are saying Trey. Some people have zero aspirations of winning a match. They participate in some of these events for the camaraderie, learn a new skill and make themselves better shooters and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I wanted to promote the shooting sports in general. However, there are many who have only one desire and that is to finish at the top or win. This video was really done to promote the matches and to show what many of the top shooters will use. You have followed the channel for a long time and I respect your comment. In the real world there are very few people that actually make their living shooting.
@@XRING I think its probably the fact that it's a 22 rimfire and yes they could save your life in some situations for survival. But other than that They are pretty much handicapped. No offense trey but you are making a poor argument. He is talking about purpose driven competition builds not hunting setups, edc setups or any other purpose. Being frustrated about cost for a competition .22 vs a bigger caliber comp rifle makes no sense either. You can’t compete in a rimfire match with a 6.5cm, 300wm etc. It would be like getting mad at someone for showing off their $100k track car for road racing purposes and saying it’s not practical for driving to the grocery store or would suck at drag racing. Additionally you need to be understanding that everyone has different incomes, budgets, hobbies, etc. Just because it doesn’t line up with your view of affordable or reasonable doesn’t mean that is the case for someone else. There are also multiple divisions within each of the shooting sports including precision rifle. You can compete in a different division based on your setup, desire, or affordability without needing to get upset with a pro shooter rocking a $10k gun. A guy driving a Ford F-150 xlt shouldn’t get mad at someone for showing off their Ford Raptor and say “why would you buy that...it sucks at towing”. Just be happy that Xring shows the best of the best, low end and everything in between all while teaching and harping on growing your individual skills on your specific setup...but I digress...

Or you can buy a ruger precision rimfire for 400-450 bucks and shoot the same groups as this ridiculously overpriced rifle. Also ruger makes 10, 15 and 25rd mags. Save your money folks. With rimfire..75% of your groups is the ammo.
Ummm No. I have yet to see a factory RPR finish well in either NRL22X or the PRS Rimfire series. I have seen one but it had a lilja barrel and Timney trigger. It only did ok in the match. You are right about the ammunition though
@@XRING a rifle is only as good as its operator and its ammo. My first rifle. Apparition on the MBA chassis. Nightforce NX8 optic. Sub-MOA at 100, more like 1/2 MOA with Lapua Center-X. Amazing weapon.

Ordering my vudoo today, thanks for the review on both rifles, I own a cz457 it shoots better than I do, I can't wait for the vudoo
My CZ LRP shoots better than me so I have no reason to drop 3k on a finished vudoo, lol.

The bergara b14 trainer is an amazing rifle you should try one out. Mine shoots great and I am very impressed just getting into the rim fire game.
Ray great information as usual , a CZ 457 would meet my expectations with my shooting skills , even though a 40X 22 would be a good addition also
Thanks Talking Rock and thanks for watching the channel. Don’t get me wrong, I really do like the CZ’s as well.
