- A request video that I should have done already. Dang college exams that made me forget about this!
Anyways, just a quick video showing what happens when you get a game over on Midnight Rescue.
0:38 That sound effect of failure is funny!
God he was the worst robot when I was a kid. The way they suddenly explode on the screen, and him with his creepy sound, horrified me. I dreaded his pop-up appearance.
I played the 1.0 version of this, from floppys. When this happened, they'd run the time to midnight, the film and score down to 0, and then the robot threw paint on the Super Solver and made him disappear, then run across the screen twice, before each of the other robots ran across once and erased the school a little with each turn until it was all black and disappeared.
I had this game as a kid, but I remember it sounding different.
Could have been the sound card you had, or it might also be a different version. This is the DOS version but there is also a Windows version.
This game is very inspirational for children to learn how to solve mysteries and develop literacy skills at the same time. 👍🏼if you highly agree.
Rollo’s celebratory dance gets me laughing every time
I actually just downloaded this to give to one of my students that I tutor in reading. I thought it may be a fun game to help with his reading skills.
Yep, either one of the two events gives you a game over.
Where the hell are all of those poor kids supposed to go to school now?
This actually has pretty severe repercussions. All of the money spent on that school just went up in flames. >.>
Well, the object of this game is actually to have Morty Maxwell arrested, that's why the Super Solver is portrayed to look like the classic portrayal of a detective. The player is taking the role of a police officer who has been called because Morty Maxwell has invaded a school and is trying to make it disappear.
However, in answer to "Where are those kids supposed to go to school now?" I think the reason they picked a school to be the target of Morty's crimes is because kids don't like school and wish they could live without it. However, if somebody really did succeed at vandalizing a school building, they'd find a new building for the kids to go to school in. In this game, upon reaching the rank of Champion, the Super Solver (who is supposed to be like the police) throws a pie at Morty Maxwell that makes him disappear, probably because the artists thought it would be funnier than handcuffing Morty Maxwell and hauling him to court. However, in Outnumbered, when one reaches the rank of Champion, there is a TV that shows the news story that Morty Maxwell in jail (probably because it was created as the result of the Super Solver (who again, is supposed to be like the police) zapping him, and when zapping the TV showing the news story that Morty Maxwell is in jail, the TV goes right through the ceiling. This was probably because Outnumbered takes place in a TV station that does news.
I think the reason it was a school that was the target of Morty Maxwell's scheme is because kids don't like school and Morty Maxwell wants to erase it so a new generation of kids won't have to face what he faced (I read in the premise of this game that Morty Maxwell didn't like school.)
awwwww i guess the cd version shows the school melting
@pastdweller DosBox has a video capture capability. Any version of it past 0.65 has it. Press Ctrl + Alt + F5 to start/stop recording.
That "rolling" sound is horrible!
@littlesongbird1 This game is definitely a good choice to help students with reading. I grew up with DOS games, and I can tell you the learning ones helped me quite a bit in school.
They should have given you another shot you still had 2 hours plus.
It's just how the game works lol. If you run out of time OR guess wrong it's game over.
So even if you are in the middle of the round and the time is midnight without picking the wrong robiot does that still mean game over?
yes.
Why didn't it show the school melting?
because that’s in the cd version
Well greatly appreciated fellows!! Congratulations once more y'all. I think Rollo is cheating dudes!🎲🎲🎲🥶🥶😥😥😥😥🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔
@StormSpirit86 Well, that's just your opinion. I like this game, and apparently so do many other people as the gameplay video has 30 comments.
Thanks for watching though. :)
@SoHighTechnicaaalll Maybe you're thinking of a different version of this game then? Either that or you might be remembering how it said the school would melt, but it never actually would show it.
Actually,in the CD version, the school DOES melt, and it is shown too. The school melts into oblivion with you inside it,effectively making the super solver (and possibly the mischief master) cease to exist.
@@randomscrappygamingchannel5081The mischief master is actually one of the robots in disguise (he disguised himself because he knows he could be arrested for what he's doing.)
@elevatorgeek762 It says in the photo before it :P, Rollo.
@Shortmandesigner
Some of my favorite animals are bats. What are your favorite animals?
At 0:26, what is the enemy name?
The red robot that splatted the guy? Rollo.
Ya it was, and it still is. :)
cool
Errrr.... what? What an odd game...
Have you played it? The context isn't any more odd than a children's fanciful show.
