#1 Multicolor printing -Details of free filament production from recycled bottle (PET)for 3D printer

- Hi guys
Today I came up with another video of a multi-colored 3D print that is made with filaments that I make with recycled bottles.
In this video, I have shown how to connect small filaments
You will also see how to collect the filaments for better preparation for printing
Unfortunately, these filaments can not be wrapped around ordinary spools because they have springy states, and the idea you see in the video was an innovative idea that I got after testing on different items and shared with you. This video is the first part of the free filament production tutorial. Wait for our next videos

Many friends ask why I enlarge the hole of the fireproof Teflon pipe with a drill, the reason is that I could not get a telephone tube with an inner diameter of 1.6 and what you see in the video is 1 mm inside diameter that I I drilled it with a 1.6 hole

Man, it's crazy that this little homemade setup is sooooo much more effective than those $5k filament machines. This is definitely the way to go. Thanks for posting these.
Great point!
So cool. Especially like how you showed how to connect short pieces together. I really feel like a cheap cost effective plastic recycler that converts plastic to filament will literally save the planet

The long awaited sequel has finally been realeased!
Using spare parts and ptfe tube to join filament is genius. I have many wrecked heater blocks and leftover filament bundles.
This is great, start today
Except that PTFE off-gasses REALLY nasty stuff over 245 C. I would not recommend it.
@@AaronFlaming lubricated all metal hotend throats then? I’m guessing pla can be joined below 245, not sure about petg, abs
Right?! Mind=blown.
@@mr3dp you should try taking the plastic ribbons and stamping them together with a bag sealer, then running it through the extruder. Curious to see how well that works
You clever, clever man. I can't keep up with everything I'm learning from you!
I admire your work! Thanks for share. I'm gonna try to build something like that one day 😅.
Congratulations from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Man This is an amazing idea printing with recycled plastic bottles 😍🔥🔥🔥
Im definitely going to try this out

I love what you are doing. This is the type of innovation that is the beginning of something that can change the world. So simple, and efficient, allowing people all around the world to go from trash to sellable product with very few tools. You should get this in front of the precious plastic team!
Thanks dear friend for your energetic comment
Wow! DYI Splice core. So obvious, can't believe I've never seen that anywhere before. Cool stuff!
Thank you for your energetic comment.
Great video. Ive been looking to do this for a while and you answered a lot of questions I had without speaking a word. Also I love your method of using the ptfe tube to join the pieces. It's like a much neater version of a method I use to splice pla filament.
Glad it was helpful!
Brilliant!
Genius......Pure genius!!!
Thanks for the more detailed video. I really wanted to know more about your process. True genius
More to come!
Just found this video. Amazing. So far, I saw coupl of videos about expensive machines to recycle failed filaments, but recycling PET bottles like this, just with lefover parts is genius. I have to do the same, because garbage PET bottles equals free PETG filament. I see, as 3D printing industry will save the planet. :) Many thanks to share this video, you earn a new subscriber,
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome! Love to recycle bottles at home and save a buck at the same time. Also this way I can easily print with many different colors instead of just printing in gray or buying a whole spool of colored filament every time
Totally!

Teflon releases toxic gases when overheated. Recommended max temperature for teflon tubing is 260C. Some may argue that should be much lower than that. I am not an expert in the topic but 276C rings the bell to me (4:55). Otherwise I like your setup. Great idea.
Yes, that's right you can now become known as a Lord of the Rings
Teflon starts off gassing at 235 this includes capricorn tube
Heating 1cm of teflon tubing releases about as much of toxic gas as you breathe every day you walk outside..
PTFE, known as teflon melts at 330 celsium degrees. So... I dont know What you are talking about. What you mean?
@@yorganyog Teflon releases potent neurotoxins above 235. The higher above you go above that the more dangerous it is.
Incredible work💞
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice

Nice! Here is an idea: maybe it's better if you join the filament before the extrusion with a bag sealer or something similar
I tested for the first time but got no answer
🔥💕👌👍
Very cool! I have heat block laying around so I'm going to try this my only concern is building filament puller
i think you need only a stepper motor and a arduino and then you can 3d print all the gears and the whole assembly for the spool
@@pterois5914 I found some files of winder and puller on thingiverse
it shouldn't be a problem
You can do it!
@@bocian0 can you comment the link to the thingiverse page. It would be much appreciated not just by me. Thank you

Would not recommend using a Teflon/ptfe tube at 276 degrees celcius. That off gases very very carcinogenic gas.
I have tested it up to 255 degrees, this temperature also works well and is safe
@@mr3dp what was your testing parameters? In terms of material data sheet for most of the ptfe tubes they start degrading and off gassing toxic fumes at 240.
So basically do it outdoors, or by a window with proper fan at that temperature and we're ok?
@@Bog8686 I mean you could do it outside but it would instantly ruin the ptfe tube since it would deform and even with a fan I would not attempt this. It is a known carcinogen.
What would you recommend to replace the Teflon/ptfe tube
You earned it. Nicely done. How about some build detail explanation videos?
Wait a minute, because the full training video time was long, it was decided to split the videos, but do not worry, we will discuss it in the next videos
Not bad sir

Ok, I think I believe you now. I apologize for giving you a hard time. If this is real then you're doing amazing work. Again I'm sorry. It's very easy to be skeptical of these kind of things and the way you use the camera made it feel like you were hiding things. When I get the parts I'm going to give this a try.
Well done
Thank you for your energetic comment.
Hi, I like everything you shared on your videos!, should be great to have a list of parts for the not so smart guys! Thanks in advance for your help and videos. You are really creative…. I’ve looking to buy a 3d printer, but making one to one’s needs is a better idea. Hope I can make one myself.
Glad you like them!

I really appreciate the longer video on how this works. Did you just drill out a regular nozzle to 1.75mm to get the diameter correct?
Thanks dear friend, be a little patient, because the time for the full video tutorial was long, it was decided to split the videos, but do not worry, we will discuss it in the next videos
@@mr3dp Awesome can't wait to see the details.
@@mr3dp Thanks dude. You are doing us a solid.
Great work and awesome follow up video. I can’t wait to see more and I would greatly appreciate a video that goes over how you build your set up if you have not made one already. Also your location keeps jumping around, where are you uploading from?
Thanks! Will do!
@@mr3dp Yes, anticipating that video. You can set up a factory. Don't wait.
@@mr3dp wow would be very very interested on video on how you bult this brilliant little set up its amazing my friend WELL DONE retired old man from uk 😉👍
Thank you for your energetic comment.Yes, it can be made this way, but there is more pressure on the stepper motor and that is why I did not do it
My guy has a gadget for everything
Wow, very resourceful, thank you for sharing. How does PET print compared to PET-G?, it you have had a chance to compare, though it is hard to beat the cost/time advantage of home recycled product. Now to find a way to do a running spice and a spool diameter/configuration that works best.
We will discuss it in the next videos
What's actually the difference between PETG and PET? Is Glycol added to PET in order to create PET-G?
Congratulations on the way more subs than was shown lol.
Thank you for your energetic comment.
