I certainly should of played some Entombed but that would have been cliche right?!
Thanks for watching!
Play some Bloodbath instead.
Every pedal comes with free tinnitus.
I love rude and loud pedals like this. No frills, no bullshit, just the nastiest circuit in the world cranked hard. And its so affordable too, none of their pedals are overly expensive like most american boutique builders.
“Lol an hm2 with double gain” lmao wtf man hahhha
Thank God John has a new video. RUclips's killing me with Helix and Reaction videos.
Congrats on your Riffhard, killer platform.
"It goes to 11!" Influenced. Some where there's a kid with white & black face paint telling himself I need that shit!💀
I think you completely nailed it describing that tone as “end of the world” tone!
Not keen on to using this kind of distortion for rythm or lead playing, but occasionally in some specific parts, yeah sure!
Thank you for demoing the pedal through multiple amps, it’s quite interesting to hear how it affects the tone!
Awesomeness, i love JPTR FX stuff.
Omg this pedal rules
i think gonna love this pedal no pots only a fully cranked hm2 for on/off that thing is fun
This pedal sounds sweet!
My Bloddy Valentine used the HM-2 as well on Loveless! It’s a one trick piney but Damn! What a horse!
Good to see you back!
It sounds just about right when going through the Puretone and Laboga. Even the original HM-2 requires a perfectly clean channel in order to be distinguishable in a mix.
Kinda want one tbh, even though I have a few different variations of an HM2. Hope youre well mate 👍
The HM-2 is supposed to be ran into an overdrive channel with the gain taken back a bit. Gets a lot more of the classic "chainsaw" tone. Doesn't work that well going into a clean channel.
I honestly don’t understand why so many people get this entirely wrong and think pedals like these are supposed run into a clean channel
Liked this the instant I saw your jacket
Hi. When will you test the Djenttonic pedal? Is amazing :)
DUDE!!! I had that exact same Tool hoodie in 2001!!! Are they still in production or is that just a super OG one you've had forever?
One of the first thing I've noticed in the video was that hoodie! 😁🔥🤟
I had that hoodie in 01 also 👍
Besides the demo, wich I always love when it's your playing, I LOVED the camera quality Browne. Did you upgraded it?
Thanks for noticing! Mixture of lumix (GH5S/GH4/GX80) and blackmagic design micro cinema cameras, with a mixture of canon, sigma, samyang, Panasonic and vintage manual lenses
Need that coffee custom cab.!!
Ty v m on all 6 that's the only tuning dont you tune the low e to c#?? I heard that some were??
Love the tool hoodie....thank you for wearing that lol
I might have to get this because I'm bad at guitar and can't play fast anyway.
Them Bones!
Kinda just sounds like a fuzz without the chainsaw elements of the hm2
This is just a Nails pedal and that’s awesome
Hey John, I'd be interested to hear what picks you use. Your right hand technique is insanely good and I reckon the pick would be a factor in the sound you get. ✌
I'm not john and CANNOT speak for him but for that aggressive down picking style I really recommend the green dunlop flex (actually white with green lettering) I found those to have a slight push-back making downpicking a bit more forgiving....they are thick enough to really dig in but flexible enough to absorb all lot of impact....I'm a huge down picker and I have stacks of them
for me the Dunlop Tortex Sharp 1.5 was the gateway. you need some time to adjust to it, but it is really effortless to downpick and pick hard with it.
@@krisztianfugedi5910 Those are the exact picks I use! I alternate between the .73 and 1.5. I find their attack is fairly close to that gnarly striking sound john gets 👌
Fitting name for the sound. Could benefit from about three more knobs on it lol.
there's only one good setting on an HM2 and that's hardwired here. No need for knobs
Nice pedal was wondering if you could tell me what is your tuning on 6 string??
DADGAD!
Sounds like something Mick Gordon would use.
What was the riff/music u played before the pedal kicked in...up until about 2:27...loved it!
Just noodling!
@@JohnBrownemonuments send me the tab 😜
Sounds like a $15 squarewave fuzz. $99+ for this is an insult to money.
Not for nothing, but you remind me of Wyatt from wrestling. Cool guy like you.
I want one...hit me up if your selling this pedal
I will never understand those people who say things like "that's too much distortion" and stuff.
TOOL!
4kin ell
Yo that your girl's hoodie? haha jk man I rememberer you mentioned recently in a video that she got you into them recently.
A gift from her! If it was my girls then this would be a crop top.
@@JohnBrownemonuments haha nice man!
Well laid out demo with the multiple amps, but it is just a chain saw without the chain.... Not sounding quite up to the description in my humble opinion.
why does this suddenly make want to play swedish death metal
Because slaughter of the soul was a HM2 into a metalzone!
@@JohnBrownemonuments Really?
@@mr.phil.a yup, into a solid state peavey I think
do you have any examples of Swedish death metal with the HM2?
I've always tried listening to bands like In Flames but they genuinely don't sound like they're using HM2s, or at least not in the context I'm used to them (Nails/Full of Hell/powerviolence stuff)
I guess Entombed's Wolverine Blues has that sound, but stuff like In Flames I've just never heard the HM2 in their sound
@@Ghost17110 i think the only In Flames records with the HM2-like sound are Lunar Strain and The Jester Race
The HM2 is like hairless cats. You really don't like them at first, but the more you're exposed to them, the better you start to see the cute in them.
💙💙💙💙💙💙
My tinnitus thinks it,s great
Just, why?
Because people can
why not😋
First :)
@Benny Nunn well fuck me....you're right lol.
Nice hoddie, the pedal don´t know. Way to much gain for me.
