Since the pull will be upward, the initial “wrap” on the porty should be around the top and under. Then add your wraps/tucks. The way you have it tied is how it should be in the tree for your block/pulley since the force will be pulling down against the timber hitch.
The upward pull would not be good for a cowhitch even with a better half hitch added... Cow hitch for safebloc and pullys downward and side ways pull, timber hitch for upward pull I'd say.
Not the newest video but I have a question. Let's say you didn't have some sort of a sling whether it be a dead eye or loopy or woopie, what would be acceptable if you just had a piece of rope? Knots, setup, ect
That is a Port-a-Wrap and tenex hollow braid sling used to attach it to the tree. The Port-a-Wrap is used during removals and/or rigging operations in tree care, it allows us to easily handle larger sections of tree coming down.
@@BartlettArboristSupply Oops, I left this comment on the wrong video. It was supposed to be on this short from an Indian arborist: ruclips.net/user/shortsetkwdmlWSpM?si=WThJbIU5-mMKrNvA (I thought it might also be a port-a-wrap which is how I came on your video but they don't seem to be using it for limb lowering)
never even seen a port a wrap before this video, and i don't even work in this industry. but i do like ropes, so i understand the recommendation. thank you for the knowledge 😂
Great work man! Another 450 dollars worth of stuff I need to do tree work? I'd rather add a second strap up top so the portorwrap stays in position like a tree bollard!
In the future for more detailed knots or other important tips etc. please use a camera of quality ( I assume a cell phone was used - poor quality ). Thanks.

Ahhh..
Good point !
Abdon- FALWLESS instruction, brother !
Even I understood it.🤣
👍
i learned something !...thank you!
Cow hitch if your deadeye sling is long enough. Faster to tie. Otherwise timber hitch works just fine aswell.

I like the timber hitch too. With one time instruction, any groundie can tie it and it holds every time.
NICE VIDEO !

You could still girth hitch the Portawrap to one end of the rope (girth hitch and a half hitch), then do the same timber hitch like in video.
This is good for the tree. Simple.
Whats the rope and the metal contraption around the bottom of the tree for?

Nevermind, looks like it is a port-a-wrap and they do use it for that later.

Thank you bro, usefull video🤝🏻👌🏻
Glad it was helpful!
As said in another comment the wraps should be the opposite direction so as it's loaded up the tree it don't unwind
Thankyou

Poor quality? You're joking right?
Couldn’t you just use a ratchet strap?
