had a 69 z/28 for over 25 yrs ,everything matching-even all original interior--i know several things to look for he did not mention,one being the block pad in front of the right head--vin no's were not stamped there on a z/28,the no's there was build date only which included place where cast,--the vin # was stamped on bottom of block next to oil filter
I agree with you that a tach was an extra cost option for a Z28 in 1969. But the Z28 option included a tach and gauges for the 1970, 71, and 72 model years.
Then in 1973, GM made a tach and gauges an extra cost option for the Z28 package once again.
my understanding is that pre-December cars only had the vin stamped on the pad as well.
Now i want a 69 z28!!!😅
