We’re going to homeschool our son who is in the spectrum. The school is a hostile environment for him and he doesn’t really have friends. He think he does and he’s really sad about being out of school. But the truth is he hates school. He complains every day about spending 6 hours there, he hates school work and has a lot of trouble with his behaviour. But he doesn’t want to leave it 😣 I’d like him to understand that this is the best we can do for him 😢
I came here for advice on de schooling my daughter but I love that piece of art work behind you. Please tell me more about it. Is it by a professional artist? Do they have a website where I could view their work?? Thanks
Okay I have a question. Is it okay if we go to the Zoo and I give my daughter a worksheet??? She’s 13. I just feel the need to give her the worksheet. Maybe I’m the one who needs to be deschooled too.
I get these ideas and love them. But if I give my kids complete free reign, we will have an eternal summer and no math or writing. For one of them, there would be no reading. So I have to tread lightly on this sort of thing. I did ask the child I plab to homeschool if there was a part in history they want to learn more about. I'll go to where they struggled with math. All that. But not completely having free reign.

He will understand in time. And you can find good friends for him in the homeschool community!

Yep, sadly she wants high school after her homeschooled 8th grade year. So, it's complicated.
