Pretty, but utterly impractical. The solar heat gain would be ridiculously hot. Trying to keep it warm in a cool or cold climate would be impossible. Trying to keep that sealed up and dry, would be very hard. The pool would create terrible indoor moisture management issues too. A lovely dream if the physics of heat and water infiltration were not given facts of this world.
I love it! If I'm a judge for the house design competition, I would give this house design top mark. It's 2 bedrooms with 2 baths and it even has an indoor pool! Everything I dreamed of!Yes, it needs a hell of a lot of shades, but that beside the point. I love it, I'm saving this!
If it’s in an area with extreme heat, I’m sure it would get really hot like a greenhouse. Should have shades that would close off the ceiling if it were extremely hot. The air conditioning would never stop running. Nice concept but I wouldn’t want an all glass house.

That has already been addressed in the design. Notice the large upper windows for venting? They are similar to what you would find in a greenhouse to vent heat and allow air flow. However, if it was my permanent home, I would at least either have a retractable roof cover or fewer clear roof panels. The side panels I would retain as is.
Interesting nod to Buckminster Fuller’s Dymaxion House. Different materials of course, and a separate aim.
@@davidatkinson7356 had the same problem. Apart from the windows, the rest was all metal. Talk about a sauna.
Absolutely beautiful, I think I'd use the pool room for a cosy library, extend the deck out further with a pergola roof for all year round use and cooling comfort and the glass ceiling needs to be solar reflective, openable or have curtains as it would become a sauna ...otherwise I'd move in tomorrow

I love the looks; but can you imagine the heat of summer sun? Rooftop solar, solar shades, etc. When you find something people love, then work out the problems if possible, otherwise work on another design. I agree the basic design from storage containers needs improvement and most simply stick containers together for simplicity without considering practicality, beauty, or enjoyment. Good work. Keep the ideas coming!
Well, this is...different. It would take some getting used to for me. The only thing I definitely wouldn't want is the glass roof. I don't mind a skylight or two, but not an entirely glass roof. I live in the Midwestern U.S., and we are subject to hailstorms in the summer. And there are privacy issues as well - for me, anyway. I suppose if this is way out in the country with few, if any, neighbors, it would be ok, but I still wouldn't be comfortable even so.

Love this concept, but I have to agree about a glass roof, could be problematic, instead, I would reduce the glass by maybe 60% and placed as random skylights, just to create some visual interest in the home, I'm guessing those are 20' containers, which balance and contain the circular footprint nicely, but also make for some cramped spaces, might want a look at the floorplan to examine other options, additionally, rather than the very large window area at the center of the roof, I'd be inclined to go with a raised cupola, perhaps have the glass roof structure angle upwards to meet the cupola thereby alleviating some of the stress load on the roof

Love this design/amazing vision! Some thoughts: I do think that the glass used
needs to be a combination of elements:
(1) 'glass'home' owners can see out of the glass, but others cannot see inside this home & (2) glass needs to be bullet proof & (3) glass needs to be solar- sensitive so it (as specialty eyewear does) has the ability to provide (solar-powered) reflective shade & thus the ability for house to, in effect, be liveable.
Wish I were a genius engineer so I could be acquainted with or come up with all the ways this design can be 'practically' tweaked w/o visually compromising the original design here!

Exactly the points I was thinking, though I thought "hail proof" rather than bullet-proof. But same idea. The shade idea is good too. As it is, it would be like living in an Easy-Bake Oven.
I am a 'find a way' kind of person
so, building a structure aĺa 'carport'
style (but larger & configured to benefit house-shape) over this house might be an answer, initially. .
Too, reasonably, the port-roof
panels must not just cover the underlying perimeter but be useful & timed/automated to adjust
to the weather variants.

wow! Great House animation. IF only this house actually existed. The lack of camera reflections on the glass and lack of shadows even with the sun directly behind, is a dead give-away. Is this a house designed/imagined in META?

Nice concept. Being mostly glass, I wouldn't feel safe though. I would install bulletproof windows all around, even better if they are self tinting like those electrochromic sunglasses 😎

People need to use their imagination or hire someone with imagination to custom fit their place. You can avoid weather conditions, excessive cleaning, layout issues. Just think outside the box...try that.

I love this unique design, my new dream home. The only thing missing would be the heating system and the window screens in the windows/doors and the vertical blinds, perhaps, in the living room? And I would defenitelly put a corner sofa although this one is pretty nice too. It's a huge house. Thank you. I imagine myself living there already... 🙂

The kitchen wouldn't work too easily. Counters too spread apart. But an island with the range in it would work where the table is.

nice but where I am temperature varies from -35 to +35 celcius and we get a good meter of snow and more in winter. Very expensive in heating and condition air .

With those glass ceilings you'll have one hellava heating/ac bill, and the enclosed pool is going to create a lot of humidity in the place. The kitchen appliances are split too far apart for efficiency. This is an example of form being more important than function, and it doesn't work well.

Interesting. BUT the sink is a long way from the stove (could easily be over on the same side), AND there is no comfortable seating that aligns with the TV.. General look is great! Also, I would love to see it elevated, so that the ground level could be finished and utilized with only a central core closed off. And what is that little foot pool in one section? Waste of space!
I agree with your observations. However it is only a drawing. Not a real accommodation so things can be changed around to anyone's taste
Even a flat roof has to have some sort of pitch and the whole idea takes a hit.

It doesn't exist... just their drawing. Sadly, as I wanted to book a vacay to stay in it to see if it was what I wanted to build myself, and I asked for info... was told it is just a plan😢
