The song Deutschland by Rammstein is not only about germany's history. It is also about the shame that germans feel to this day about being proud to be a german. No one should be ashamed to be proud of being born a citizen of their country, but for germans it is stll a Taboo to say "I am proud to be german and i am proud of my country" because too often we are declared Nazi's when we say things like this out loud. So deep inside we feel shamaed of being german. And this is one of the main aspects of this song.
German here. 80% of those songs I would throw in the trash. And clean my loudspeakers, ears and brain after having been exposed to them. Not a friend of Rap anyway. More a Mambo #5 type.
I can still hear his dominance over the rap.
I'm german and I never tought that Modern Talking would be that high on the list. I'm more of a rammstein guy
Well first song I heard in South America and over and over again was modern talking. Also … ja 🫠
Yeah I’m surprised
do people in Germany not listen to the other bands of that sort? Like eisbrecher for example? or just German bands that are rock or metal etc. because in the US we do. and we listen to Lord of the lost here too. (And of course Scorpions)
I didn’t expect it to have so little metal. other than Rammstein
11:06 Andreas Gabalier is Austrian and he sings in an austrian dialect so it's probably easy to confuse for another language for non-german speakers.
13:04 Kerstin Ott recorded this song in 2005 and it was rather unnoticed, since she was a hobby musician. 10 years later the DJ duo Stereoact discovered it and made this famous remix. Kerstin Ott became famous and stopped working as a painter/varnisher.
Fun Fact "The Milky Chance" need 3 years to write the song "stolen Dance", the frist upload to youtube was on the 4. April 2013 ......... 11 years and 2 days ago..... And they had low expections for this song, but than it becomes a viral hit
When you like AnnenMayKantereit AND Milky Chance... there is a video, where they play together a cover of Roxanne, a song from The Police. An amazing cover, I think.
Also you should check AnnenMayKantereits Video "Lass es kreisen". It is live in a concert in Köln (Cologne) and has very chilly vibes.
Hey you two! I highly recommend the following German artists/bands: Terry Hoax (Hannover local heroes), Fury in the Slaughterhouse (Radio Orchid and all the good stuff), Herbert Grönemeyer, AMK (of course 😅), Westernhagen, Milky Chance (yeah, naturally 😂), Sido, Alligatoah, Rammstein (a bit overrated, but y not), Nina Hagen (Seemann / Farbfilm - must see), In Extremo, Saltatio Mortis, and, of course The Scorpions (wind of change - literally the hymn for Germany's reunification)
Wenn ich noch eine Band hinzufügen dürfte: Faun...😉
16:20 You don't you know "Ain't Nobody"? One of my favorite songs ever. - By the way, the group "Seeed" with singer Peter Fox is not on the list, but I can only recommend this Singer. His last hit was Peter Fox - "Zukunft Pink" (feat. Inéz)
If they check them/ him out, I would reccommend to react to their/his older popular songs. So much better than his new song.
Peter Fox mit 'Zukunft Pink' ist einer der besten Songs der letzten 3 Jahre. Konkurrenzlos.
No Sandra, Milli Vanilli, Alphaville, Kraftwerk, etc they have a lot of views!
I miss all the German 90s eurodance hits in this list
Die Liste zeigt sehr gut, welche Probleme Deutschland hat...
You can only understand "Rammstein" if u are very good in German and know some History.
In this List i miss "Kraftwerk" they introduced Synthesizers in Musik! 35 Years ago.
Search for yourself.
Isn't it 45 years ago?
The problem with the list is that a bunch of stupid kids click on this 3rd line rap crap. And that is the basis for such lists. It goes without saying that the music from earlier years is significantly reduced in representation. If you leave out these moderately talented rap clowns, to put it nicely, a completely different picture emerges. Bands like the Ärzte, who have been making music since 1982 and are still around, are missing here. Also no trace of the Toten Hosen or the Fantastischen 4, to name just three bands.
"Die Ärzte" for example joined Spotify just a few years back. And because this list is based on Spotify clicks they're not on it...
Nina Hagen., TV-Glottzer
A little advice, use translation subtitles or get the lyrics, so you get what they sing. Music is such a big thing in Germany, we have any Genre and spanning from the first recordings till today, so that video wasn't a good representation at all, we have far more to offer!
We do when we react to one song, but a compilation it would take way too long, hehe!
You could also react to songs by Electric Callboy. Once you reacted to them, you can write to their management and get your channel whitelisted for reactions to avoid copyright issues. They like reactions to their music and even made videos of them reacting to these reactions.
Thank you, will do. It was the only reason we have yet to react to them (not being able to monetize our reactions).
@@MaxSujyGermany They just did it again and posted a video of them reacting to reactions to their new song "RATATA". For more than 40 minutes. ;)
Legit only was enjoying old pop songs and Rammstein...
I miss rhythm is a dancer
True, it has 138 Million views and is german!
yes Snap should be inside.. the ranking is very strange... I am in doubt of that

Andreas Gabalier is an Austrian singer.
Regular Part of HRE and German Federation until 1866.
@@brittakriep2938
Bullshit
The Austrian Empire was until 1806 the HRE!
Austria was a Part of German Föderation but nonetheless a indepentend Empire.
Austria was never a Part of German except 1939-1945 the anexion from Nazi Reich and this from an Austrian!!
@@waldkauzs.5555 : Courtesy seems not to be your greatest strength. HRE consisted in its late years of perhaps more than 300 states. There had been territories of noble lords, spiritual lords and territories with the adding Reich, mostly Reichsstädte or Reichsritter.. Some territories had been Reichsstände ( with a seat in , Immerwährendem Reichstag'), some, for example the Reichsritter, only reichsunmittelbar. One of this Reichstände had been the , Österreichischen Lande'. This had been inside HRE borders: Current Austria ( with exeption of Salzburg), Austrian Netherlands ( current Belgium), Kingdom of Bohemia ( Current Czech Republik) and Vorderösterreich ( parts of current german state Baden-Württemberg). So Austria was a regular part of HRE ( with exeption of territories, not belonging to HRE, Hungary, Slowakia, Slowenia, Croatia, Siebenbürgen, Milano). In case of Deutscher Bund / German Federation Austria (; german parr) was also a regular part of German Federation. So, between 911 and 1866 nobody would have said, the territories of Habsburg dynasty are no regular part of of geographic term Germany.
no Scooter?
yes no scooter no Snap .. the list is very strange
Alessia Cara is Canadian like you haha
Of course, some of the songs are covers, for example the no. 24 on that list is clearly a cover of "We Like to Party!" from the Vengaboys a famous group from the Netherlands.
Nico Santos, Lena, Sahra Connor ,No Angles
You can react to AnnenMayKantereit - Barfuss am Klavier.
Nice live version.
Ok, I have some links for you to live concerts (don't ask why... it's weekend... I was bored... and then there is the RUclips algorithm that keeps you running... you know that game...)
You'll probably get a lot of requests for Rammstein and Electric Callboy, so I'll leave those bands out.
But if you want to react to the video "Deutschland" by Rammstein then you will be interested in this video:
ruclips.net/video/sc-euVL8xQs/видео.html
It is an Analysis of the music video and you should watch it afterwards. Deutschland shows basically 2000 years of German history in a few minutes so it's impossible to understand it without an explanation.
This is a song from AnnenMayKantereit (because Max asked for it):
AnnenMayKantereit - Ich geh heut nicht mehr tanzen (Live in Berlin)

The following two videos are videos that many people have reacted to in the past.
The first is a live recording of two songs by Blind Guardian from the 2016 Wacken Heavy Metal Festival:
Blind Guardian - The Bard's Song & Valhalla - Live at Wacken Open Air 2016

The second one is a Song by Herbert Grönemeier. He wrote this song for his wife after she died on cancer. This video has subtitles in German and English:

The next videos are just a few videos that came to my mind more or less randomly. I tried to choose mostly songs that are in German. The last video is from Milky Chance, it has been moved to the end because it is a bit unusual. I hope you like the videos and have a nice weekend ;-)

Finally, this is a pretty strange video; It's a virtual live song. In 2021, the Mexican Pa'l Norte Festival could not take place due to the Covid pandemic and was therefore transformed into a virtual festival. From what I understand, it was streamed over the internet and you could choose which bands you wanted to see and what the stage would look like:

Thank you for the suggestion! I have a long list of suggestions now and I'm picking by feel. I always check to make sure Sujy and I will like the band or singer suggested first as there no point reacting if we dont like. p.s: We did react to In Extremo after you made your comment.
Funny you mention all the cars. Notice how it is mostly "gangster" rap and mostly by people with migration background. Mostly from the east. There is a really big stereotype about people from that group posing with their expensive (mostly leased/financed) cars.
Also Schlager is not that popular in Germany. Unless you mean with people in age rage 60+
Do you consider Helene Fischer to be Schlager?
@@MaxSujyGermany Yes her music is considered Schlager
Schlager is not popular in Germany? It is listed as the 3rd most sold genre in Germany after Rock/Pop and Oldies!
Schlager musicicans sell more records than artists/groups of hip hop, rap, techno, edm and any other genres!
Helene Fischer just set a record to perform in front of 130,000 fans! < that is 10 times more, than f.ex. Bushido had on his sold out concert in Berlin.
Schlager is still popular in the same way it was 70 years ago. The two main fan groups are still a smaller group really loving this music and many young, drunk people singing it with friends, just like it was in all times before as well. I would agree that the real fans are in majority older, but also young people are listening to it. But perhaps it is a regional thing or a difference between cities to villages.
@@JohnHazelwood58 who buys music in modern times ? mostly old people. most music isnt bought but streamed. music sales dont necessarily indicate how popular music is. I listen to a lot of music but never buy any of it. Because I can't afford to buy 500 albums per year.
Try LaBrassBanda 😂 or Rödelheim Hartreim Projekt or even Sabrina Setlur
i was wondering about the low class comercial rap music in the top 100 and than i remembered that thoose artist were often caught buying clicks !
i knew all the classics to the new electro songs but first time hearing the song with the autotune voices (beside modern talking)
who the fuck is an Zedno ?
A very deep rabbit hole would be german Folk-Metal. Some names: Saltatio Mortis, Feuerschwanz, Tanzwut, Subway to Sally, In Extremo
We are currently deep inside that rabbit hole! :)
In my opinion, the best live performance by a German band. By the way, they sing in a dialect that is only spoken in the city of Cologne. Most Germans don't understand this dialect (including myself).
ruclips.net/video/DB1RaK6ISPY/видео.htmlsi=ZiFrM99CLo4tAsO3
Thank for the suggestion! I'll see if I can find a song with little copyright and english subs.
watching this I have problems how they made the ranking... We have so much more than rap Modern Taking and Rammstein... alone Scorpios should have more rankings in the list... instead there are many many bands I nerver even heard their names.... of ALL TIME can´t be serious
It's a bit sad that generally more modern songs (after 2010) are more likely to have big view-counts because they were first released on RUclips and not just Re-Released because at least for my personal taste, somewhere in the 2010s the german music industry was basically destroyed by "gangster-rap".
The good aspect is that most of these don't have much staying-power so we still get at least some older songs but if you look at the dates it is pretty obvious that there is a period of german music that was completely absent from this list.
Fortunately it does seem that german music is VERY SLOWLY starting to come back again.
I really miss the good old songs and bands.
Die toten Hosen, Die Ärzte, Oomph.
Satatio Mortis, who make such good videos - Pray for the Hunter.
But also Reinhard May and friends- Meine Söhne geb ich nicht
Herbert Grönemeyer- Der Weg Live
so much music with extraordinary people and voices
If Germany only consisted of Rammstein and this rap sh... I would be ashamed.
Much more interesting as Rammstein is the predecossor band feeling b from the DDR.
Isn‘t cheerleader also german?
madon is missing it also german (50 % at least)
Trevor?
RAMSTEIN !!!!!!
All that dumb german gangster rap is what the Kids hear for the past 10 years or so. I guess they're a lot more on the web than the older people, so it's bit slanted towards their taste. Rammstein gets a lot of international views.
With that amount of nosense in the playlist I do question how many dislikes that video has. I am very sure that there are a lot of songs missing there and that the list is more of a personal favourite rather than an actual leaderboard.
Hannes Wader, Franz Josef Degenhardt, Ernst Busch, Konstantin Wecker, Zupfgeigenhansel…german left wing songwriter you should know.
The list would be much better without all the gangster rap and pseudo reggaeton... Up until 5 years ago we had a lot of diversity in German music, Gen Z kids only listen to Capital Bra and nothing else...
As a German gen z I can guarantee you NOBODY listens to capital bra anymore. (I specifically hate all German rap tbh but that’s just me) Most gen z‘s listen to either English music or some actually good rappers/singers that are in rn like Apache or sum
Im gonna make you old, its 8years ago, since we got this shitty german rap. We lost a lot of Culture.
Bullshit yan Hörn auf die 1
German music is as diverse as it was before. You’re just on a : früher war alles besser Trip.
Take a look at German artists in the last couple of years. You’ve got everything from EDM , pop , Rock , Metal to Reggae and almost everything else. Just because you don’t like the modern hip hop doesn’t mean German music has become shit. We’re still the third biggest music market in the world
Yeah, this list is NOT representative for Gemany or germans. Just saying. ;)
I agree 100%
Fake list the artist ZEDD is not German he is a Russian DJ who immigrated to the US in 2012 were he is living 🪩 but anayway these songs are mostly not Top Hits only gain views by RUclips who is not an indicator at all of record sales in Germany at all
He lived in Germany from the age of 2 til he was 23, prob has the german citizenship and stuff. He started his career in music in Germany, so why exactly shouldnt he be on this list?
@@pizzakeks4816 because his is not a native german and his body work is US origin - so he is not an german artist
We have to much Hip Hop /Rap Trash
ok so remove all the rap and then the list is good in my opinion except for maybe Sido hes cool
I wonder why who made this list ... Snap - Rhytm is a dancer from the 90's got 142 million views ... it wasn't in that list ... but all the trash hip hop, from the east is inside .....
I dont like Andreas Gabalier, but all that cheap modern Rap is not my kind of music. And i loved Run DMC in the 90s...
100 Songs, 80 of them are utter garbage - I wouldn't even call those 'music'. The rest is 'meh' at best. This just goes to show who STREAMS music, and who listens to physical media and/or radio. Also, the #1 is probably the song I hate the most. What an obnoxious list, and I'm sorry you two had to suffer through it.
