For those who are interrested:
The forerunner-band of "Die Ärzte" was "Soylent Grün" from 1980 to 1982, with Bela B and Farin Urlaub (joining 1981) as members. They only released one official EP in 1982 called "Die Fleisch EP" (The flesh EP). The band name "Soylent Grün" is refering to a 70's dystopian Movie "Soylent Green" that is highly recommended if not seen.

Yes, I saw them for the first time in 1983 and I have to say, actually with the years they really got better and better. Unfortunately, I never managed to attend one of their concerts again.
It is the Original "Lara Croft" of the Computer Games. The movie was much later.

Only a few weeks (about a month) ago they released their 4th single from their newest album "Dunkel" (engl.: Dark) that goes by the name of "Demokratie" (engl.: Democracy).
As you can figure by the title it's a rather political song and although the song itself does not position itself (In a nutshell it just says: "Democracy is a living thing that cannot survive if the people don't play an active part in it - so don't be a fool and be an (political) active member of society.") the video they made for it clearly shoots against the Republic of China, Trump and foremost the AfD (Alternative für Deutschland (engl.: Alternative for Germany)) which is a right-winged, populisitc German party that (sadly) gains more and more popularity here - not only with Nazis but also with people who feel like the other established parties failed them.
Not very surprisingly, Die Ärzte received quite the backlash from people who are pro AfD any there quite a lot voices claiming they lost their credibility (as Punk band) due to being "fully alligned with the current government".
Personally, I think "Demokratie" is an important song because populism is one of the biggest political problems we're facing nowadays. Therefore, I'm thankful Die Ärzte try to use their popularity/songs to (hopefully) make some people think.
My favorite line from "Demokratie" is:
"Du bist nicht Teil der Lösung - du bist selber das Problem!" | "You're not part of the solution - you're the problem!"

"Junge" (engl. Boy) is a nice song but not really one of my favorites. (I'd rather see you react to "Schrei nach Liebe" or "Deine Schuld" or "Demokratie".) However, I'm still looking forward to your reaction.
Same clarification as usual about this video.. the song (several, actually) about Claudia and her dog were not referring to Claudia Schiffer who was not yet famous at the time.
About the Ab 18 album: there are no ratings for music, Die Ärzte just made that up but the BPjM (at the time) could forbid the advertisement by putting it on an index, which meant you had ask in the store if they have it because they were not even allowed to show it on display. That led to some (mostly video shops) having extra rooms where you had to show your ID to get in.
10:10 If you think that does not look like Lara Croft, you are too young to have played the first titles. Her model underwent some drastic changes. I had a huge poster that you had to collect from several issues of the PC Games magazine with that exact model that hung in my room back then. 😁
You are right, I don't remember playing the 1996 version.
@@MaxSujyGermany Oh, the original model had way fewer polygons (even the model on the box cover). This was released in 1998, after Tomb Raider II and it resembled the model on the cover of Tomb Raider III from the same year the most.
Ever since the video was uploaded, the band released two more albums, Hell and Dunkel.
The playing with our language, holding us the mirror in front of us and this for 3 decades maked them so special.

Das Schlaflied in englisch the Lullaby is a little bit Scary as child when i hear this song i can't Sleep 😅
First time I heard a song of "Die Ärzte" was back in 1993 < which includes: I am old now! *laugh
They were not as famous back then as they are today! But lucky me: I got all their original vinyl records form that time!
Which is very good as they got very expensive! Well at least: german record collectors would pay a ton of money to buy them!
I saw this band several times live! They talk too much on stage, but their music is fun and the crowd/fans are epic! *party
As you watched "Die Ärzte", you need to check out their "rivals", too! "Die Toten Hosen" :) [< it's a "rival" like "The Beatles" vs. "The Rolling Stones"]

It's uncomparable now to "Tote Hosen", whom i actually liked in the first years. Die Ärzte made quite a development, in terms of meaning and in musicality. There are real great pieces with reminiscenses to other cultures like "Du fehlst mir", where they use some arabic or turkish melodies. Tote Hosen instead developed backwards imho, using all the same song again and again with different lyrics. It's very shallow and i can't listen to them anymore.
Not Claudia Schiffer, but just a fictitious Claudia! Claudia Schiffer was not yet a model when the song came out and therefore not known as such.
As a young punk I loved the band (the original line-up)
I loved them too (in hindsight cause my first album was Die Bestie in Menschengestalt... of course then straightly listening to every single song before).
But Rod was a great addition to the Band nevertheless. Rod loves you.
