Happy Saint Patrick's Day lovely lady. Thanks for your amazing videos and orchids. Your a super RUclips star. Have a brilliant Spring. Cheers to you and your family. Andy in Scotland. 🙏🍀🌻👍💐🌹🌼🏵️🌞🌞🌞🌞
Mine are still under 0.5-1m of snow. 😁 you are so much more ahead of us. I usually start cleaning and dividing the plants around may when the ground starts to melt.
Great!!! For years I looked for Geranium in nurseries without success. However there are plenty of species growing late winter in the wild. Then they die when it becomes warmer and dry. However last year I was lucky to find a piece of a Rhysome, a lot smaller then your smallest piece in this vídeo, it was for sale in a closed bag at the Supermarket Lidl. It grew and prospered and it is growing wonderfully in my garden, blooming all year round, the roots shaded and the stems intertwining with my Myrtus communis. I am really happy about it😍😊
How inconceivable that geraniums are so hard to find. Here they are so common and everyone swaps them. Fernanda, I will send you one of these divisions once it is rooted and we can visit the post office again. This is Geranium renardii. You really shouldn't be without it 😊
@@GardeningatDouentza Wow, how wonderful of you, I would love it. I read your comment last night but I was so tired I could not answer and turns out I even dreamt about it, go figure 🤣 Thank you very much 💖💖💖
Great to see you out in the garden Rachel. We have had a lovely few days of sun so I have been able to get a lot done in the garden. Unfortunately tomorrow everything changes and we are back to sub-zero nights and low daytime temperatures, so the plants are going to get some frost damage. What a weird winter we are having.
Thank god I found this! Things around the garden in IRELAND and our type of weather. Could I ask for some advice on what fertiliser to use on PRUNUS NIPPONICA Brilliant please? Many thanks!
Those alpine cherry blossoms are so popular right now. If it is in the ground then I would top dress with a fertiliser like chicken pellets, blood fish and bone or well-rotted horse manure. In a pot, apply a liquid well-balanced fertiliser.
@@mvelsomethinsomethin A well balanced fertiliser is one with a 10-10-10 mix of N, P and K (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium). Potash or potassium feeds will encourage flowering but not good general health in the plant. If you only have tomorite then use that now but trees in pots really need a balanced fertiliser, especially after flowering.
@@GardeningatDouentza Perfect! I do have Groomer in a big bucket that I can use. So I'll use the balanced fertiliser when flowering is finished 😊 Thanks a mill
You know, speaking of Geranium, I saw on Alberto's IG, he posted a pic of Geranium maderense. Do you have one in your collection? Seems like a plant right up your alley, nice foliage, flowers held high.
I need to divide my geranium and this video is so useful. They look pretty hardy considering how you were able to pull them out and replant so easily. How long does it take for them to bounce back from the dividing and replanting?
Hi Baotran. Nice to hear from you. Yes, geraniums are really tough plants. If you divide in autumn or spring then your plant shouldn't even know it was disturbed and will flower the same year. As you are dividing yours a little later than recommended, it way take a while to bounce back. Just pay particular attention to watering! Good luck.

That is a terrible story. I am in shock.

Well, I'm not sure it's a dream plant but definitely a good one 🤣 You are most welcome.

Oh no. Sounds like spring all right. So changeable. Thanks for watching, Una, and I hope the cold snap passes quickly.
Thanks Rachel

That's rough but spring is just around the corner for you too, I hope!

Of course I have one 😉 In the greenhouse.

What kind of geranium is this?
It is Geranium renardii, Sharon, a lovely one that I have featured in it's own video separately before. Lovely velvety leaves 😊
@@GardeningatDouentza oh, I'll look it up right now 💕
