I hate how ESP puts EMGs or Fishmans on almost all of their upper-range LTDs, especially with the EC-1000. I know you can switch them, but I’d rather not do they with a battery-operated guitar. That’s just me. I would be all over a CTM with passives. They did this several years ago using DiMarzio 36th anniversary PAFs, I believe. But those are VERY hard to find used and when they are they are gone quickly.

I’m undecided between getting this guitar and the same version but I guess it’s called an Amber Burst that has the Seymour Duncan JB and 59 pick ups in it.

The guitar is great, I have the original deluxe I bought in 2006 when they first brought the guitar out. So the guitars killer, but the pickups, man go with the Duncan's. The problem with the EMG are they are super compressed. If you play metal I guess thats fine, but I play 80s and hair metal, so they just don't work for me. I'm watching videos tonight to decide what I'm going to switch then out for. I'm pretty sold on Duncan's P-Rails. I have the David Gilmour set in my strat as well, and it the same thing, they don't breath well. You can out a compressor and eq pedal in front of any pickup and get the exact same sound honestly.
