540g Plain flour or Bread flour (4 1/2 cups)
Depending on the density of your bread flour, you may need an extra 100g)
60g Butter (4 1/2 tbsp)
135 Sugar (2/3 cup)
9g Instant Yeast (1 tbsp)
2 Eggs
200ml room temperature milk or water
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp Salt
NOTE: If you're kneading by hand, it'll take roughly 25 minutes to achieve a smooth and stretchy dough.

I tried this today and it came out so so wonderful. Easy to make and very soft and yummy. Got 17pieces of donuts from that (60grams each). Thanks and continue with the good work
When leaving the donuts to rise, do you cover with plastic wrap and leave in a warm area or do you leave it uncovered in a room temperature setting?
I messed up mine pretty bad
160 and they were undercooked

You know it’s good when there’s a light ring around the donut.
according to the video, i believe the dough was kind of hard. and when a dough is hard, it wouldn't rise up well. and if it doesn't rise up well, there wouldn't be any chance for the light ring to appear. also, it seemed as though the veg oil was a bit hotter than the supposed temperature
@@donsorrick I tried the recipe and it came out great, the ring comes from shallow frying the donuts and not deep frying them. The dough was also fairly sticky and rose very well.
@@reemehab8912 it's funny how I heard the opposite,meaning never to shallow fry😂. I read the white ring comes from well proofed dough. It should rise when frying and that's what leaves that ring in the middle.If you got good results with shallow frying that's good,maybe I will try too.
@@reemehab8912 well, speaking of shallow frying, fry with low temperature and also make sure you control the temperature of your vegetable oil in frying pot. the hardest parts of making doughnut are mixing and frying. don't forget that if anything goes wrong in mixing, it would surely have effect on frying.

My family mum and adopted mum especially my late grandma used to make this every time we came from school and it taste yummy yummy and sad I don ́t have the recipe as what I know what she did she only used the sea water ,juice of the tree we called it (kaleve ) the sweet coconut juice men collect from tree and you can cook it and turns out like honey or sugar ,and butter and little sugar and yeast that is all I remember there is no measurement they only measure with hands and cups and spoons but mostly with hands is magic ,watching as a young lady like you doing your baking is another level is nice as I taste this recipe it came perfect like my granny's big don´t and we called it in our language is Puta Fakatu in Ellice Island I missed this yummy food so much thank you for this yummy delicious recipe of yours God bless you and keep up the good work thanks

Ok i first did it using the measuring cups. Little tricky. I did it using my scale. Omg. Was a winner. Loved it. I let my dough rest in ice box few hours so the butter and rest. Then made balls. Omg fired better. Shit i love it. Mahalo
