Of course you can. If your motor is rated for 2200w it means that it can run 2200 continuous. The amperage will ramp up as you increase load on the motor. It is the motor that ask for power and the controller will simply feed it what it ask. Unless you plan on using 3000w as continuous power, it wont particularly hurt the motor.
