To those who might not know how Americans do this. I work in automotive stamping and welding UAW. The car companies have massive automatic stamping dies made and automatic welding cells made that literally costs millions of dollars just to do a couple parts out of the hundreds of stampings and welded assemblies. Which is why your car costs so much. That and just one employee at my work makes a minimum of $20 per hrs up to $40 per hour and then × that 1.5 for anything after 40 hours a week and double that for work on Sundays. I make about $60,000- $90,000 per year and there's no chance ever that I can afford a new American car.

I worked in a car factory in England , everything was automated , ...robots did all of the body assembly and welding . One day the production lines came to a stop , the very last job on the line was to set the steering geometry, .....it could not be done , the body's were all faulty , it was traced back to the robots , they were programed years before to weld the body precisely, ....and they did ....year after year , eventually due to wear and tear on the robots joints , ...elbows , wrists ,.....the precision was lost , by the time it was discovered thousands of cars had been sold with border line steering , those on the line when the fault was discovered were scrapped , or given away to trying schools , with the proviso that they never get put on the highway the lack of maintenance cost them millions,
