    Met him here at a temple. The most simplest man I have ever come across. Nothing ostentatious. Nobody knows about him, but he has delivered a lot for the Indian cricket.

    He was not glorified like other pacers of countries like Pakistan,Australia,west indies,New Zealand
    He was completely underrated.
    No wonder why we can't see such pacers from Indian side

      Frankly speaking he was an okay pacer like darren gough, daryl tuffey, umar gul etc but never intimidating bowler who can trouble the batsmen but yes considering the Indian bowling at that time he was surely the best one to come.

      But Indian Team totally changed since Virat became the captain.. Although Srinath's legacy was something else but we got Bumrah the speedster, Shami, Ishant and Siraj as amazing set of pace bowlers !!

      Probably All of you don't know that Srinath had so many Good spells.. during his career and He troubled world famous batsman also.
      Unfortunately Srinath was in side bench due to presence of Kapil Dev Probhakar.
      Indian team used two pacers three spinners at that time.
      After retirement of Kapil Sreenath became regular in team.
      Actually Probhakar was not at all Pace bolwler.

      @@SoumitraJdg Kapil Dev was past his prime but was always selected by BCCI so that he could surpass Richard Hadlee' s record. Had he been part of Australian team then Kapil Dev would have been asked to retire at least 3 years before he eventually retired.

    Srinath was one of the best pacers of his time. Though pacers from other countries were glorified as they were brilliant , he contributed immensely for India. We remember and respect him.

    No stingy action, no sledging, no verbal abuse... Only class bowling and makes the ball to speak... One of the best indian pacer who can hit the stumps even if the batsman leaves a millimeter gap between bat and pad.... My all time favourite..

    Javagal Srinath is one of the best cricketers I've seen from India. He was sensational in 2002 when he toured New Zealand. I remember watching him live in Auckland where he ripped through our batting and almost won India the game.

    I was probably a ten year old boy when I went to his home in Mysore! Such a simple guy, down to earth, he even played cricket with me! He mentioned to me not to get too hung up on cricket and to focus on my studies and future. I'm talking early 90s. Such a gem of a person. God bless him with long life and happiness.

    Quite unbelievable how underated this guy was. One of India's greatest fast bowlers. Certainly the fastest bowler to play for them. Came back from major injury and was still quick and a very good fast bowler.

      @@JohnnySabu it doesn't effect them for sure. But it forces the other domestic anticipating players to be like them. Many of the time player's market value is determined over their style and not for their performance. Keeping Virat as an exception other players give more importance on their styles rather than their performance.

    He was our Countries Best Bowler,I am Lucky to see him play live in Mumbai twice in 2001-2002 and I have seen him practicing before match starts so he was the only bowler who used to everytime bowled the stump out as it was just a single stump kept while practicing.
    Love You Srinath Sir...You were the Best Bowler and always remain in hearts of 80-90's kid.

      it was a perfect ball to a left handerof course.........no batsmen wud have been able to play that if it was a left hander

      Looks like that because batsmen played from the crease. He should have come forward. The only problem is ignore was WACA and Srinath had decent pace. It's hard to say without the context of previous deliveries and overs if Arthurton did the right thing or not. But any case as good a delivery a short you would see. It would take a very good batsman to play such a delivery with confidence and assurance.

    I have the greatest respect in my heart for these three players in 90s Srinath,anil kumble and venkatesh prasad. These three are very humble and down to earth persons.Azharuddin used these three players very wisely and supported them so much and got incredible results with their bowling in 90s.

    Remember this match.. 40 overs were bowled by Kapil, prabhakar, Srinath and Banerjee. 41st over by tendulkar.. Took the 10th wicket and the match ended in tie ;)

      India's first genuine hostile pacers were Mohammed Nissar and Amar Singh to a great extent.Both played in India's debut series in England 1932.

    Hats off Srinath Sir. Amazing delivery, so humble & calm, nobody knows u now, u walk tall Sir, by delivering when it's needed & being so quiet and humble. Perhaps, this time in the 2nd test at Chennai, u were the 3rd umpire silently watching within the walls with the TV.
    Someone can RUclips & play the Yorker delivery too which he bowled to Javed Miandad, and he was bold. This was also a peach of a delivery. Absolute beauty

      Nope. Off cutters move off the pitch. It was just a genuine away swinger to the left hander. Look at the ball moving in air just before pitching.
