I respect the busts who when they fail, don't act like their whole life is over but either try to be a better person if they had off the field issues or continue to try to make something of themselves. Like JaMarcus, I never knew he got over being a bust but it seems like he's doing alright
It's hard being a pro at sports especially when you're expected to do amazing things because of the hype you had in college. Obviously these guys couldn't handle the pressure of being a top draft pick but I wouldn't criticize them for at least trying. At least now they are professionals at something else and are trying to make the most out of their lives by giving back to the communities they were a part of at one point in their life and helping develop some good high school players by using the knowledge they gained from playing football.
Tim Couch was not a bust, he was repeatedly injured while playing for essentially an expansion team. He was setup to fail by his coaches and the ineptitude of the ownership of the Browns at the time. When he retired, he held multiple team records, some of which still stand to this day. To put him in the same conversation as Ryan Leaf is embarrassing for whomever wrote this video.
@@philiptucker7590"When he retired, he held multiple team records, some of which still stand to this day." So that means nothing to you? Do you think Archie Manning or Philip Rivers were a bust too?

I've heard Ryan Leaf discuss his life. I respect him more in that, to date, he took ownership for his failures. What makes us a failure in life is to never admit to it, never seek forgiveness, or to blame others, never decide to do something about the trajectory of the life God has given us.
The Boz should not be considered a bust. He played really well in his rookie year, and would have been a great linebacker if it weren't for that shoulder injury. My favorite Boz story? Nothing", but didn't know that the Boz actually owned the company that manufactured those tees XD
You can’t call someone a busy bc of injuries, it’s not their fault and they would’ve most likely achieved big things if it weren’t for it like Lamar Odom and Markelle Fultz
"Yo, Ryan, I just got a call from Arthur Blank himself." "Billionaire hardware store entrepreneur & current owner of the Atlanta Falcons Arthur Blank? Sweet! Does he want me in the Falcons' offensive coaching staff or something?" "No, he actually wants you in the paint department."
Raiders F up in the 2007 draft. They pretty much miss out on a bunch of HOF for Russell. They could've had Revis team up with Asomugha or Patrick Willis anchoring their defense. Heck even Megatron would've given them the #1 receiver they were lacking since trying out the Randy Moss project that didn't pan out.
It's funny how much these players were hyped before they got drafted, then ended up being busts. Yet Kurt warner was bagging groceries at a market in 99', was brought into the Rams organization as a backup to Trent Green during that season. Trent Green gets hurt and replaced by Warner. Who then leads them to a super bowl title and another super bowl appearance the next year. And ends up having a hall of fame career.
Out of all the players I believe courtney brown could have been a hall of Famer, his potential was through the roof and also Aaron curry had massive potential as well.
I'm most proud of how Tony Mandirch became an artist. I've taken courses in both digital and film photography and it is a very rewarding experience.I should check his stuff out. I hope i see it in a museum one day.
Mandarich was perhaps the biggest busts of all until Ryan Leaf came along. I'm glad for Tony that everything's worked out for him but he did come back to the NFL and manage to start for the Packers i think it was and make something of a career. He wasn't a total bust.
DeMarcus Russell was given a blank tape by Raiders coach to study. Next day he was asked how he liked the tape ? Russell said he learned a lot. Raiders were done.
Just my opinion, but it seems unfair to have David Carr on this list. The Texans' management was a bust during his tenure. It's hard to perform when you're getting sacked 70+ times a season.
I remember Aaron Curry on draft day took a make a wish child with him to New York and seemed like a great person. I may be disremembering that but I know from his interviews I was rooting for him. Also, I'm in a minority but I don't consider David Carr a bust, all things considered.
I agree about Carr. Same thing happened to Joey Harrington. Each had ONE down field weapon named Johnson. Andre and Calvin. And each had Oprah Winfrey as an offensive line coach. "You get a sack! And YOU get a sack!!! And YOU get a sack!!! Everyone on the opposite sideline look under the bench YOU ALL GET SACKS!!!!!" SMH. Messes with a QB's head and screws up their whole career.
It really pains me to say it but the facts are undeniable, you could make a whole list of former PSU players that couldn't make it in the NFL solely because of injuries.
He's a bust he needs to go do something else sports are not his thing maybe flipping burgers but then he'd probably throw to many bad ones Did anyone tell him that stickem is illegal to use now in the NFL

Ryan leaf has turned it around he sits in for the. High rated Rich Eisen show he does a great job he admits his past faults and getting a chance in the studio like a lot of the great QBs ended up have.

Idk. I still just find it so unfair to label Tim Couch, Vince Young, or David Carr busts. Especially Carr. I remember that poor kid running for his life FOR YEARS. Lol! If you do a Part II video, I think you should include Heath Shuler in that one. Third overall pick for the Washington Redskins in 1994. His NFL career was a bust but did some interesting things after that.
Honestly I don't think it's fair to label a player a 'Bust' if it's because of an injury early in their career. Ki-Jana Carter blew his ACL 3 carries in, during his first preseason game. Of course he's going to fall short of expectations. Guess who else wasn't the same player after blowing a knee....Gale Sayers. Biggest difference is Gale got hurt a few seasons in. So despite the major drop-off of his production, he's still considered one if the greatest players at the RB position(rightly so). Carter never got the chance to show what he could really do. Adrian Peterson is the exception not the rule.
I know this video is from last year and I'm a little late. But I wouldn't call Vince Young a bust. The average NFL career is only 3.3 years so having even 2 years of success is still really good.
