I just received mine this morning. Your 940/Sebenza comparison is spot on, exactly what I thought as well. REALLY liking this knife and will be carrying it a LOT, such a clean look. Top notch materials, great blade and grind, sharp as heck out of the box, mine is flawless with perfect assembly by Damon. Waiting on the entropic ano scales to get here now. Can't wait.
Damon and Krazy Kay's first foray away from Kizer is an absolute home run. The springs are piano wire. They will also be releasing ti scales with different finishes so you can swap them out. Talk about releasing the Kraken!
@@christopherkatz9484 it just broke writhin 20 mins. The screw on the clip side just ripped out when I tried to remove the show side scale. And yea I waited just under month for it to arrive.
Nice looking design. I really like having that access to remove the scales without messing with the pivot. I may be weird, but I like that plain finish on the scales.
Mine just arrived this afternoon. I got #129 and I love it. This may very well become my favorite edc. I also ordered the Titanium Crystallization Scales and the $40.00 surprise package just for curiosity sake.
Just ordered one an hour ago because I love the ideas and overall look of it. When I looked yesterday, a couple hours before it went live, it said "first 50 customers will get the surprise extra parts for free" if they had it in their cart at checkout. 1) almost 24 hours after going on sale, I figured they'd be sold out. Nope. 2) I got the bonus parts and, confusingly, kinda(it is the holiday season and money can be tight for some things, mine went in as free at checkout. Wonder if they extended the number or, somehow, I was in the first 50 sold of this batch? I find that rather hard to believe, but hey, stranger things have happened. Def excited to get mine and see what the bonus parts (material and what they are tbd) are. 🤘🏼✌🏽
I’m sure you’ll love when you get it in your hands. Glad you got in on the first 50 group and the free extra parts. It’s well made and the action is smooth. I wonder if my surprise package is the same thing you got for free. I’ll see what happens. I believe it’s a good value for the money and I’m glad I went for it.
I bought the package after I questioned them on their site and they told me they were basically keeping it under wraps for a bit longer. Curiosity got me and I made the purchase. In any event I hope it’s a good surprise.
MC, as far as writing in the blade, there is one more spot with text. If you look in the sharpening choil area from the bottom you can see the serial number. Again, another amazing spot to put writing instead of on the face of the blade.
Im thinking those magnets must have a net positive effect on the action of the knife. Several people have installed magnets in Kunwu Pulsars to improve detent/action. I think I may try to grab one of these. That milled octopus is calling to me.
Good you mentioned lubing the omega springs, it's the constant use that puts the most stress on springs-- like how loading & unloading magazines is worse than just keaving rhem in your safe, topped off with freedom seeds. Lubing the springs minimizes the drag against the liner/scales.
The magnetic scales is definitely a cool feature. It doesn't exactly make me want the knife but I'm excited to see this concept be used on other knives
Having easy swap scales is awesome, i look forward to dressing up or dressing down the knife in seconds, much like a TRM. I already got 2/3 scales, looking forward for the brass ones to come out
EDIT: 4:20 That should teach me to comment before watching the whole thing! The handle shape looks a lot like a Chris Reeve Sebenza, without the exposed screws of course.
Kudos to the idea. I hope they make sheaths from different materials g10, carbon fiber, micarta, copper, brass, aluminum... Depending on the need, you can change the look of the knife in a second. Top!!! It reminds me of the BM 940 with with the taste of Sebenca.
I got mine in a couple of days ago (Number 169. Nice) and it's been in my pocket since. Really great piece! I actually thought of the Sebenza when I first opened it. This one will 100% be in my regular rotation.
I ordered one halfway through watching your first video immediately after you posted it, and mine still hasn't entered America. It's been 17 days. I'm super stoked to get it, it seems awesome, just disappointed with the shipping times
It would be great if you would start measuring behind the edge thickness. Almost no reviewers do it and its actually what makes a knife cut so i believe it's more important than the blade stock thickness. You can easily find stock thickness in the descriptions under the knives in pretty much all the sellers sites but never the behind the edge thickness.
Very cool. I want one, but really need to stop spending money on knives, especially the $250+ ones that I've been talking myself into the last year or so (Factor, EDZ, & Caliber). Maybe I"ll ask for one for my Birthday.
The only real advantage to the magnetic scales is the ability to hide the external hardware, which is nice! It's a slicker way of doing it than many of the mechanical tricks other companies have employed. I think it would be a no-brainer at $250. For $300, it's not something I'm rushing out to buy.
I'd venture a guess that those magnets have a pronounced positive effect on action. They're going to improve detent strength, and also help eliminate bounce when putting the blade back in the garage.
@@vorpalblades wrong, and that's why several people I know have been putting rare earth magnets in Kunwu Pulsars to improve action. "Dipole" doesn't mean they repel steel from one pole. Trying to understand how someone could think that can suspend their own weight with a field that's going through non magnetic titanium, and sticking titanium scales to steel liners so hard that they're difficult to remove, would not interact with a steel blade only a quarter inch from them? Sheesh.
You know its weird, ever since i started watching this channel if im talking about my shaman on WoW its a "Shaw-men" but if im talking about my Spyderco Shaman its a "Shay-min".
I just want a polished titanium integral folder with polished magnacut steel. Not like mirror polish(buy maybe). Is that so hard to ask? 3 flip options at least too. I want the polished GTC but its not even magnacut either and that's the closest to what I want
It looks super cool but that removable scale shit IMO is dumb i mean yea it looks super clean id just rather have it be more robust with integrated scales with screws
Really wish they didn't make these ambi... the whole point of the scale system is to be able to easily change them. Why the heck wouldn't they simply make left/right hand scales instead of having that ugly filler tab ruining an otherwise excellent/unique design?

Feb 29th not december, nbd. I like the idea. Easier disassembly not at the cost of structural integrity is always good.

Benchmade Fauxbenza Insingo.
Those look like really powerful neodymium magnets. Is the entire knife intensely magnetic as a result?
Yes, you will have everything near it that is magnetic being pulled towards the knife.
