The 55 with the V8 and 3-speed manual I like it better than earlier models. It has beautiful and timeless colors and body style.

Jason Yamini, early Corvettes were not very good cars at all. By 1957, they were greatly improved/better.

Great video and rare find!! Most of 53-55 Vettes I have seen have been six cylinders. To see a V8 in this body style is a rare sight. This car must be worth a mint!!
Hi patty .s, Thank you for the compliment on the video, and glad you like the car :-) In the text is Bill's info regarding the price of the car if you go to their website or call them up. I'm sure they'll be happy to share details of the freshly restored car, Lou

@@loucostabile : Indeed.
Just caught this now. Love the color. Nice video!
Happy to read you enjoy this color and video :-)
I love love love this car, wow, that color, so much better than white, even though that was nice on the first ones. And that v8! 3 speed too. This is when everything came together, 1955. Can you imagine owning this car in 1955! It must have been like owning a Ferrari! I bet this car is a lot less than a 1955 Ferrari though! Great video as always. Thank you.
Hi Robert Smith, I agree with you, you get the beauty of the first year look, and a V8 with a great color. This 1955 is a Winner. And thank your for the compliment on the video, you're welcome.Lou
Beautiful car!
Hi Bob Aldo, Glad to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou
Amazing copper color scheme and interior.
Agreed :-)
Another great video! Corvette Mike always has the best cars, and you make the best videos. It must have been a thrill to own one of these in 1954.
Hi Fred and Debra MacDonald, Still fun to own a 1954 Corvette now too :-) Thank you for the kind words on the video, Lou

Hi Starkid 1236, Glad to read you enjoy this video :-) Hope you're behind the wheel of a 54 Corvette soon, Lou
Why would anyone give this video a "thumbs down?"
Hi Eric Circa6566, If we enjoy the car, we can focus on the MANY more "thumb up"s this one received :-) Lou
@@loucostabile I do enjoy the car. I mostly view RUclips for music videos but not exclusively. I'm always astounded at the people that give a "thumbs down" to an otherwise great video. The six that responded that way to this video could have just as easily not responded. Really, what's not to like?
I reposted this video on my fb page and it's getting a very good response.
I missed this one, but I am here to give a Thums Up.
Hi Chris, Happy to read you found this one and like it :-) Lou
pure gold 💕👌
Nice !
I have died…Jesus meets me and hands me the keys to this beauty…
Now….THAT is heaven!
AMEN !
I'd take it over the late model in the background any time! 👍🏻😉
Nice :-)
stunning car
Hi Mike P, Glad you like this one, me too :-) Lou
boy, that is a nice color combination....Nice sounding 265 also!
Agreed, It's amazing what "color" can do to make something look so good, Lou
Same color as the 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special. Designed by Carl Renner for Harley Earl.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
very beautiful color. I enjoyed watching the video. Thank you .Looking forward to coming to the US and visit. Thanks LOU
Hi Hisham Elfiki, Glad you enjoyed this one :-) Lou
This car is so sweet
Hi Ashley Schooneman, You have great taste in cars :-) Thank you for viewing and commenting, Lou
Lou Costabile looks like someone took a lot of time getting the panel gaps nice.
I remember seeing or reading about the early ones with Chevrolet learning as they went along regarding working with fiberglass.
The particular part I remember is they said to look at the door bottom in one of the old promotional commercials, as it looked like the door almost bowed out at the bottom and had an irregular gap because of it.
I don't mean any of that in a disrespectful way, this car is beautiful, and v8!
Great vid as usual!
Glad you like the video, and thank you for letting me know that. I appreciate your kind words. Regarding the car, I agree, the details in the restoration are fantastic. It's feels like I'm videoing a brand new 1955 Corvette. So much fun to video and share, Lou
Thanks for your reply Lou,Ash
wow lou,,you find all the gems..that thing looks good enough to eat like a caramel apple..lol.thanks again for posting.
Hi Jose Penate, When Bill and I were discussing video this car, he said to me, "You're going to like the restoration and the color." So I'm glad you like the "caramel apple". That is a good one :-) Lou
lol .
Great!
Nice :-)
Lou, Lou, Magnifico.......That was the start ......1955....First V8......Great Design is Eternal......I was a teenager in the 50's.......My father was a traveling salesman and he had some cool cars...including a 1962 Olds Starfire..Hardtop...Blue, White top.....Bucket seats in metallic Blue leather.......traded that in for a 1966 Gold Toronado....My first ride? ................1972 Citroen DS21 Pallas.....! I think I'll go watch another 'Lou Video'.
Hi Stephen Maniloff, Thank you so much for the wonderful comments, I really appreciate your kind words and encouragement. You are right, your Dad had some cool cars! Lou
_What a Pearl!_ . . . . . . .👌⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

GREAT CAR EXCELLENT VIDEO ALSO
Thank you Han :-)
Love the copper ! 700 made in that color , in 1986 they only made 163 Gold Metallic Pace cars. So does a rare color regardless of year bring a premium? Most " experts " say yes.
Glad you enjoy this copper one CONTENDER791 :-) Lou
I am restoring one!
Hi MannAutomotive, Hope it comes out the way you like, Lou
Very sweet looking '55
Agreed.

Amazing beauty car Love it.
We have a Winner :-)

A fun car for sure. Glad you like this one, thank you, Lou
ok my friend
Awesome story Lou! Keep 'em coming!
Hi Wayne Butt, Thank you for the compliment. I really appreciate that, and so glad you enjoyed this one :-) Lou
The first year of the V-8 Corvette; I would have thought that would have pushed production higher than the 1954 totals?

nice!
:-)
No spare tire? I heard year’s ago of a 1953 Corvette that had been “entombed” behind a brick wall! Except for some water damage to the paint, it was practically “brand new!” How’s that for a “time capsule,” Lou?
Hi Fred, 1953 behind a brick wall, hmmm, wonder if the timing is right, if I'd be able to be there when they pull the car out.....there is a good story! Lou
wow, is this car available now?
Hi mrearlygold, You have great taste in cars and this one has been sold. If you look in the text / description there is a website for them to see there current inventory. They are nice people, and if you call them on a car you like, please share you found them through this RUclips Channel. Hope you find the right car for you, Lou
Were these cars equipped with 12 volt batteries from the factory? Maybe they were available? Just wonderin... A stunningly beautiful vehicle in any event!
Hi Tom Boots, I'm thinking so, however maybe a Viewer can confirm. Glad you like the car, me too, Lou
Yes they were 12 volt.
Nice color. Could you please try to get the color code?
1955 Color code 573 - Corvette Copper
@@loucostabile Hi, the painter told me that the color code starts with WA. Could you please help on getting the exact color code. Thanks in advance
Hi, could you please provide the GM color code for the Corvette Copper
So, because this model has a 265 V8 in it, a bigger engine could be installed, say a 327 small block with a four speed transmission.
Hi Dale, Thank you for viewing and sharing your thoughts. Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you enjoy. Lou
I've been researching the GM/Chevy car paint codes of the 1950's, and don't see this Copper color. I did find a Coppertone paint chip for Chevy Trucks from 1953-55. Would the color on this Corvette be that color?
955 GM General Motors Chevrolet Copper Maroon, 590, Dupont 1971H,202-58099H,181-14251H, Acme/Rogers ... Paint codes for 1955 GM Chevrolet "Copper Maroon"
Wow, thanks for the info!
The engine compartment shows a chrome air filter unit, is that the original equipment ?
Hi gerard, Hmmm, I'm not sure. Hoping a Viewer can share knowledge. Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you enjoy. Please subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this RUclips Channel, Lou
All V8 Corvettes used this air cleaner (except ram air) all the way through 1972. It was also factory stock on my 1967 GTO. May have been used on other GM models as well.
Price range for this car $150,000. to $250,000.
Thank you for sharing.
Probably a million or more with rich bidders.
I had a used 1969 Corvette. I once made a date with a woman and picked her up for the first time in my Corvette. When she got in she said she would have never accepted my date if she had known I drove a Corvette. WTF?
Hi Yankee Doodle, That's a Dandy of a story :-) Lou
Yankee Inventions I would have gotten out, walked around the car, opened her door like a gentleman, and helped her out of my car before explaining that I won't date any woman who doesn't like my Corvette before driving away.
if i owned one of these i would install a beer tap on the rear trunk lid and have a keg inside the Boot and party out of my garage ********
That sounds FUN :-)
