Just wanted to say this: I used to watch your videos all the time and even bought myself a street bob because of it. But 3 years ago I had to put my bike in storage and I’ve been living in Europe since for my job. Now that I’m coming back to the states in a little less than a year and getting bike fever, I wanted you to know you are the first channel I thought of! So glad to see your channel still going strong and when did you reveal that face of yours I may have to binge your videos to find out lol
Badass I can’t wait for this build to be done! Also I can’t wait for an update on the bronx project! Y’all could put the new 135 in the bronx too 🤷🏼♂️
Other than a shitload of splatter to clean up (which can be mitigated), flux core welding is just as strong and deep as MIG welds. Like the man said, "..it's all gotta be ground to look pretty"
If someone who knows how to weld a mig and lay dimes and make nice welds uses flux core the welds will be about the same if not better with flux core. Most who weld using flux core dont know what they are doing and I think flux core gets a bad wrap because it's what most learning mig use because not everyone is going to go get a bottle of gas. Flux core actually burns hotter so penetrating welds on a frame could be better, however it's also best to take more time due to heat transfer and possible warpage of materials.
That would wreck my back riding a hardtail any advice for rear shocks for 2011 fat bob.Chris has been great for the channel as has everyone, you get back what you put in you are certainly moving forward the gamble has paid off.

Maybe “load bearing” is the more proper term, haha. Has to be able to support the weight of the bike and the stresses put on it under load, meaning it has to be a good strong weld 💪
@@BlockheadMoto agreed, the project is also interesting because the engine still is rubbermounted compared to pre-2004 model builds. You Might wanna try and find a finished solid mount project to compare the feel with.
"Don't let the fear of failure stop you from doing something." Best quote ever - thanks Block
Thanks Purnadhara!

Blockhead a good shop welder would be a miller 252 220 volt

Guys another statement I've heard about welding is a grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't
CHOP ALL THE SEVENTY TWOOOOOSSSSS. You should paint it yellow ;) a small tip, get solid aluminum motor mounts that way you don't get chain slapped!
i like watching these
Thanks for watching!
from Russia with love!
What about Radioactive Green on this chopper?
Can I watch a welding video without eye protection 🤣🤣
☀️😎
How about black & harley orange?
What happened to the sportster S, and the FTR builds?
Chris whats your tshirt bro?
Can your 120hp sportster keep up with your mt09?
Haven’t put them up against each other yet, that’d be an interesting combo!
What happened to the blow by $12 fix video? It's gone on your channel.
Always wondered what a "structural" was...guess it's really important..lol

Where are your orbital Welders?
I wish! Bit overkill for a frame though, lol
You could have saved the effort and bought some 9" short suspension and fit them on the stock frame. These would be as conformable as a rigid fframe😂
That’s not near as cool 😁
