Not surprised. People love the satisfaction that comes from a good revenge story but if it's too unrealistic or unbelievable it pulls people out of it. There are better revenge plots that don't rely on this many plot contrivances to get by.

Movies like these, that introduce the fear of something that have a chance to actually happen to anybody (kidnapping) rely on dumb character decisions to move the plot forward. On scifi and supernatural horror movies I can agree with dumb decisions, as the characters face situatios that literally no one should be prepared for. But in films like this one I cant understand how a physically and mentally broken and traumatized hostage could go on a rampage against the bad guys instead of looking for the authorities.
Because cops take forever sometimes. Sometimes just letting cops do everything is bad. She did more faster than what most cops could do with a whole team of government resources.
