I'm not familiar with the rules of Vampires, can someone explain how a vampire doing exceptionally well on a 'wits and willpower' check makes you do the complete opposite of what exceptionally well on what those two words mean regarding survival as a vampire? It just seemed to me like rolling an D&D athletics check on jumping over lava, getting a nat 19 as a monk for a total of 30 and that meaning you dive headfirst into it, sink to the bottom and die.

Silver, being a typically 'pure/holy' material, wouldn't interact with undead like vampires and therefore wouldn't show them at all. Modern technology has no silver in it, neither do the mirrors. Vampires can be seen just fine in newer stuff. >:3
Interesting but not true, that’s a modern combination of two different myths :/ The no reflections came from the idea that they had no souls, and mirrors reflect the soul. They were believed to not reflect in ANYTHING, silver or not-and for the same reason, they had no shadows. Modern media tends to not want to confirm the idea that souls exist in their world building because of the religious complications, so the idea got bundled in with the idea of silver repelling evil.

Really, I think media where the supernatural and death are heavily dealt with and the question of the existence of souls is shyed away from are the exception rather than the norm.

That’s the one thing I dislike about syrinscape: the repetition of voice sounds. My party uses syrinscape for our adventures and our last session was a heist at a fancy party. About 2 hours in I was ready to stab someone if it meant getting the guy on the sound thingy to STOP LAUGHING EVERY COUPLE MINUTES. Unfortunately the DM thought it was funny that I hated the laughter so he kept it on (albeit softer, he’s not evil, just chaotic)

Okay wait a moment...this is some really effed up Lewis Carroll stuff. It took me like 2 hours into the oneshot to realize this. It's some kind of twisted Wonderland. The "creative meeting" is a freaking tea party between three people that are all varying degrees of crazy. The mushroom spores, the "Eat Me", "Drink Me" And at 2 hrs 4 min Liam even says "We're through the looking glass."
I think it was based on an actual Alice in Wonderland DnD module for a previous edition - possibly Gary Gygax's Dungeonland for DnD 1e/AD&D, though I could be wrong!

I honestly think Taliesin has a tea obsession. The Mushroom tea, Molly Tealeaf, Caduceus and his growth of tea... not to mention when he plays on LA by night, he mentions tea a time or two...
「B I T E S Z A D U S T O」 goth is traditionally a cross between really fancy and dark. Think vampire Lestat in Interview With A Vampire, only a bit darker. There are goth sub genres (cringe) including cyber goth, candy goth, nerd goth, et al. Laura and Travis aren't really goth here at all. Laura is more of a light punk and Travis is basically a normal guy that thought wearing black and eyeliner is goth.
I'd watch an arc of this, like 10ish episodes, a lot expanding and deepening into modern day California vampire world in the twisted nervous brain of Taliesin
So from what I understand: What happened basically is Gary Gygax is actually an extremely powerful vampire and massive undead fan of Critical Role. He then chooses to financially stake and immortalize the show (literally) through Geek and Sundry by taking over the the building, turning the critical Role cast into Vampires, and setting up a real life DnD "larp" through their studio with REAL danger. The game the cast are "playing" is themed after a real life, notorious Gygax game module based around Alice in Wonderland, an adventure infamous for being a character grinder (I.E. lots of PC deaths), which is a fact that, ironically, Vampire Gary does not take into account when the cast actually plays. However, despite Gary's lack of foresight, things do go awry beyond what he had planned. The other aspect of the situation is, apparently, some of the staff at the Geek and Sundry building were undead all along, and this causes further problems (werewolves were not part of Gary's plan). I'm sure there's alot more I'm missing, but feel free to correct me or add-on to this thread.
@@LeDameMarciana I am only an hour and a half in so far, but apart from the kinds of rolls they're being asked to make (attribute + ability), what sounds like some early implementations of Disciplines (vtm vampire powers), and the general "you've been mugged and wake up a vampire" premise, this sounds nothing like any VtM game I've ever played, read about or seen in 18 years of knowing the system.

Really, I think media where the supernatural and death are heavily dealt with and the question of the existence of souls is shyed away from are the exception rather than the norm.

VtM specifically the Lasombra don't reflect in mirrors. On film/digital they look like a glitchy monster. The other clans just look normal.

That’s the one thing I dislike about syrinscape: the repetition of voice sounds. My party uses syrinscape for our adventures and our last session was a heist at a fancy party. About 2 hours in I was ready to stab someone if it meant getting the guy on the sound thingy to STOP LAUGHING EVERY COUPLE MINUTES. Unfortunately the DM thought it was funny that I hated the laughter so he kept it on (albeit softer, he’s not evil, just chaotic)

There are goth sub genres (cringe) including cyber goth, candy goth, nerd goth, et al. Laura and Travis aren't really goth here at all. Laura is more of a light punk and Travis is basically a normal guy that thought wearing black and eyeliner is goth.

So from what I understand:
What happened basically is Gary Gygax is actually an extremely powerful vampire and massive undead fan of Critical Role. He then chooses to financially stake and immortalize the show (literally) through Geek and Sundry by taking over the the building, turning the critical Role cast into Vampires, and setting up a real life DnD "larp" through their studio with REAL danger.
The game the cast are "playing" is themed after a real life, notorious Gygax game module based around Alice in Wonderland, an adventure infamous for being a character grinder (I.E. lots of PC deaths), which is a fact that, ironically, Vampire Gary does not take into account when the cast actually plays.
However, despite Gary's lack of foresight, things do go awry beyond what he had planned. The other aspect of the situation is, apparently, some of the staff at the Geek and Sundry building were undead all along, and this causes further problems (werewolves were not part of Gary's plan).
I'm sure there's alot more I'm missing, but feel free to correct me or add-on to this thread.

@@LeDameMarciana I am only an hour and a half in so far, but apart from the kinds of rolls they're being asked to make (attribute + ability), what sounds like some early implementations of Disciplines (vtm vampire powers), and the general "you've been mugged and wake up a vampire" premise, this sounds nothing like any VtM game I've ever played, read about or seen in 18 years of knowing the system.
