The Quattro is more reliable as it is a bulletproof Torsen design, no clutches. I’m not an Audi fan, far from it, but the Quattro system is superior in the long run.
@@lukec4745 forgot about haldex ultra which is currently i.e. in Q5 and it is not torsen. Torsen is not fuel efficient hence we will see it less and less
Quattro is the best system, BUT ofc traction also depends on Tire quality. And to compare x-drive with quattro, u need the same tires, same car weight, same engine, same track etc..
The best system for what? best city AWD for SUVs etc.? Put it up against RR on some real offroad course or Legendary G-wagon with its 3 locking diffs and you will soon find out the difference. No doubt it's a decent system thou

As an Audi owner I'm going to switch to X drive. And the reason is X Delete. You can configure your car in 30 seconds. RWD, AWD, different torque distribution. Just 😲
@@Beg-k9l do you think I like the hogs bmw make? Hell nah. Also I prefer Audis because my family love them so I love them and your not changing my mind
I’m a huge Audi fan and drive a Quattro all wheeled Audi myself. Both systems are good but when it comes to snow it’s down to the tyres you have on the vehicle. When I first got my Audi it had Michelin summer tyres on it which were good until the winter weather arrived. In the snow they were no good at all, so I changed to all season tyres and they transformed my car. I live in the UK where we get all types of weather and I find that the all season tyres are great all year round. Obviously if you live in a country where snow is more of a problem then you should consider dedicated snow tyres.
Quattro with Sport Differential. 💪 But all modern AWD-Systems are very good. With the same tires are the limits the same. Handling is the big different between the systems.
Don’t underestimate BMW with XDRIVE. Also BMW had good Rally Experience with m cars. They now for a long time not driving rally’s anymore! But I think there booth really nice!
Really FAN like every 4 wheel drive I really respect all of them. I am always drive Quattro. Always. But i wish test Xdrive. Also others what am not drive. Just like that.
First of all - TIRES!!!! Both systems are topclass. Mostly Audi fans prefer Quattro as the best 4WD on the planet but the truth is that Xdrive is more complex. I saw a very good test of theese rivals and Xdrive was a slightly better in traction, much better in handling which goes naturally with BMW which is allways best in handling, more sporty then Audi and Merc.
Not all Quattro systems are the same. The A3 and Q3 have a clutch in the central differential (like BMW Xdrive) so they are front wheel drive under normal conditions while the bigger A4 and above have a mechanical differential. At least some years ago up to 2010 years,I am not sure about the recent models.
Have had two Bmw and now running 2nd Audi(a6 c7 tdi 310hp)quattro if cource. In real world respect for both. HOWEVER: when on high and rough mountain, X-Drive can transfer the power to the other two or even one wheel up to 100% while Quattro only to two wheels and not up to 100%, which is not enough on some rough mountains. With quattro you need a much faster approach where you can end up damaging your bumper or even front axle. When on average mountain both systems make it, however X-drive transfers the power faster to other wheel which almost prevents tyre spin. Quattro makes is too but with ~5sec tyre spin. With mutiple chalenges =tyre profile damage possible. Also on ice roads if you loose control X-Drive responds faster to retain stability. But you can manage with Quattro too if you can participate on what the back of your car is going to do and how the weights is shifting.
I have Ah MK-1 TT and I have a A4 Quattrov6 the Haldex in the MK-1 is hands-down the best that system is different from the other Quattros in the way it works xdrive it’s good it all depends on what you want to drive the bottom line is either one of the cars he won’t get stuck in the snow that’s the most important part oh yeah I never have winter tires on I live in New York in Queens and I don’t need winter tires i’ve had both cars for over seven years and I’ve never gotten stuck without having winter tires
Same car. It doesn ' t have torsen. It has haldex. It can help for launches and a little bit when you lose traction. But not even close as torsen system.
Pour avoir les deux,je dirais que c est assez comparable ,après, le xdrive existe depuis 2004 ,le quattro avant mais a été perfectionner et electroniser après.
Just based on what I saw on this video...the X comes out better, but I also saw that X was driven in much better conditions than the Quattro. If I were to compensate for the conditions, Quattro is my choice.
20 years on road and ive had from well known brand, low end and mid range. On a daily basis low end to mid range will do the job. If you drive like a track day on a road or have a 400-1000bhp then get a premium brand or even a mid range will do the job. After all most of the tyres are produced and manufactured in third world country’s including China.
My M140i xdrive has phenomenal launches. It copes well and has good grip but you have to know how to drive with it. If you got winter tyres it can handle the snow, even decent amount of the power until you loose grip.
I have 535d Xdrive and my dad owns A6 3.0 Bitdi and honestly Xdrive is by far worser then Quattro both tested on snow with same tyres and xdrive just loses all Grip wheels just Turn so who say that Xdrive is better u say it just cuz u love Bmw
Why people argue around such things. Just take the one you can afford or the one you like better. Quattro is the most advanced and superiour but Xdrive is not far behind. I just purcased an Audi because that is the car i like and enjoy more and thats all there is too it. I could drive a BMW aswell if there was one appealing to me, but as of today there still isnt one.
