- The Sonic Mini is the latest budget resin printer from Phrozen sporting super fast sub-2-second layer curing times.
You can check out the Sonic Mini on Phrozen's site: www.phrozen3dp...
Or on Amazon: www.amazon.com...
This was the first video on my channel and the first to reach 1000 views! I know it's not much for established RUclipsrs but I'm super-excited that people are interested in this video. Thanks to everyone that stopped by, thanks and kudos to everyone who liked it, and a hearty 'Huzzah!' to those that subscribed!
Good start for good product! I think they have replaced the plastic vat now which you mention and you can get the slanted build plate for more $. Best of luck with your channel!!
Yeah, it's been a good little printer! The industry is moving on quickly with both Phrozen and others releasing 4k monochrome printers and larger vats. It's great to see such fast evolution in the resin market especially compared to FDM where it's been inching forward rather slowly. That said, I still use my large format FDM printer 5x more than the mini :)
3D printing seems so cool but likewise with VR i think ill wait a few years before i jump into the hobby
3D printing has been one of my most enduring hobbies. Printers are getting cheaper and better every day and there's no better time to get into the hobby. In fact, I'm working on a new printer now :) I would maybe suggest going with an FDM printer first unless you are interested in printing miniatures or exclusively small parts.
VR is also pretty awesome and I love my Oculus but given the same $300 price tag you'll get and learn so much more with a 3D printer.
@@LilMikeysBigPlans yeah i totally agree! it really is bursting now a days and i would definitely like to see what video you release with that new stuff!
I was interested in a 3d printer for minis in table top games like D&D lol so i was thinking resin would be cool. out of the two VR seems to still be further out
Thank you for review Mike! Good luck with the channel ;)
Thanks Sirin!
Great video!! Very informative
Thanks James!
Monocrome display makes better and more precise resin curing(except from faster speed).
So if you compare the same print to elegoo mars, photon s,epax 1 and sonic mini, sonic mini has better quality even if resolution is 1080 and not 2k.
That's interesting. I saw some comparisons saying that the quality was very close - often indistinguishable. Would be interested to see the science behind why monochrome at lower resolution would be more precise than color at higher resolution. I would think either would be pumping out white light - perhaps with more intensity in the monochrome panel. Is it mostly a factor of cure time and inherent micro-movement in the fluid while a layer is curing?
@@LilMikeysBigPlans Not only very close, even better and thats because monochrome makes better and more precise cure.
The dots are larger but smother.
Monochrome look like older tech but for the specific job its a new and better aproach.
Now more printers will come with monochrome like Eleggo Saturn 4k Mono.
Perhaps a new microphone may be in order?
Naw, microphone was fine. Audio engineer is a turd, but he's getting better. :)
Hello plaese tell me how much time for print one ring ?
Hello Boukerma. One of the great things about resin printing is that whether you're printing a tall pencil-thin object or a large solid block the layers take the same amount of time. It took about 3 hours to print the three rings, it should take about the same for just one ring (unless you change orientation or something.
Great video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
This was good. Look at your competition. Expand more.
Thanks Revenant... slowly but surely.
