You are 100% correct about the need to read the entire scripture. That being said, there is another problem. I have never attended a church that even encourages people to read the entire scripture verse by verse in context. I attend Calvary Chapel that does verse by verse teaching. However, even there, I have never heard verse by verse personal reading of the entire Bible encouraged. Don’t get me wrong it’s not discouraged. I’m just saying that I’ve never heard it encouraged.
I grew up in a church were our pastor went through the Bible usually a chapter or less at a time. I can't remember if he encouraged us to read the Bible through ourselves. But I do remember we had a guest pastor one time who made it absolutely plain that we as the parishioners needed to be reading the Bible through on our own. This was 45 years ago so I'm fuzzy on what else he said. But it worked I have read my Bible through many times.
I've been a Christian for 25 years and never read the bible before 3 months ago 'cause i was lead to believe it was too corrupted by man, and i didn't want to have "blind faith" in something that might not even be true. I still believed in God & that jesus died on the cross etc, but i thought i could worship God in my own way, just going off what i thought he would want After studying the bible properly just to see what it was all about, i feel so stupid for not reading it sooner!!! No wonder it felt like God was ignoring me and my prayers weren't being answered. I didn't even know the character of my own God I was worshipping. The God I was praying to was nothing like YAHWEH. My spiritual life has grown tremendously!!! And there's so much physical evidence to support the bible that I've no doubt anymore that it is the word of the living God. Whatever I was doing before is more a true definition of "blind faith" 'cause it wasn't based on anything except a couple of my own experiences and feelings.
I want to thank you for your diligence in helping to make clear the use of evidence to show others the reasons for our beliefs, in a clear and concise way. I've found this very valuable sharing the gospel with others.
It seems to me to be an imperative of the Christian faith to do the things you talk about. The Bible commands us to love God with all our 'minds'. It also denotes at least 4 pillars of the mind: Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, and Reason. The first 3 are found in Proverbs, the last is found in the gospels, such as John. There is also a particular emphasis on Wisdom and Reason which are both called out as being with God as he created the universe. To me, not engaging our mind faculties leads us to fall trap to simplicity which is a danger mentioned in Proverbs. We also are able to experience the joys that you mentioned in this video such as being confident in what we believe in and being able to love others better as a result.
1 Peter 3:15 "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear..."
Faith Is NOT Belief Without Evidence THANK YOU! I can't stand hearing this nonsense. But even when you explain it to people, they INSIST that's what it is. Absolutely maddening.
faith is grown from believing the word of God. We see the Word of God becomming truer all the time, as the world has viewer and viewer answers if not lies.
Faith is following commandment #1 love God with all your heart and might...ask yourself..do you make God a probable or a definite...if you do not believe 100% you are waisting your time...go sin and have fun
I like to disagree. Faith without evidence is the highest form of faith to God. If you require evidence, you will most likely end up a muslim in the future.
Truth demands thinking, and very few people think.

listening to you helped me figure out the relationship between , faith, hope & love in human evolution & salvation. Thank you.
Yep I got my NKJV chronological study Bible, it's nice with a bunch of notes for added in world context.

Thank you. This is very helpful. 😊 I really appreciate your methodical approach as I am a little scattered in my thinking. I'm learning from you!
Blessings
We sure have evidence!

Here is a suggestion that really helped me, read a version of the Bible that you easily understand. For me, it's the NLT, New Living Translation.
Merry Christmas!
Great video
1 Peter 3:15 "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear..."

I love these videos!
15:20 you're not merely reading cover to cover though, you're analyzing the material yes? Studying it?

finally someone with common sense
And allow the Christ within to reveal the truth

HEBREWS 11:1 states different
Absolutely 💯! In John 20:26-29, v29 makes the same case.
? Are you hanging your whole faith on one verse? Are you saying we shouldn't read the whole Bible in context? You don't agree with this teaching?
No, it does not. The fact that you pick out one verse and hang an entire theology just on that is disturbing.
Absolute fact !
