I was raised a nominal Christian. But I fell away until my 30s when I really examined the Old Testament and i saw Jesus prophesied all over. I’d be happy to give the references that got me most. And reverted back and now attend church every week.
Psalm 22 is the one that got me the most: along with the Genesis 5 genealogy prophecy. There IS no getting around those. No weaseling your way around blatant prophecy..
This is GREAT information J Warner Wallace! Your perspective as a detective is so unique in the field of historical investigation and apologetics! I love all your books and your content. The idea of reliable informants throughout history and the people who wrote the Old Testament is very interesting to examine under the lens of a critical investigation!
Daniel is the best one, he gives the year of the Messiah's Baptism. His prophecy is the strongest too. He predicts the Roman Empire splitting into east and west too.
Thanks for this video on the prophets. In the later verses of John 1:45-51 Nathanael comes on the scene. The dialogue eatablishes that they were seeking the Messiah. Your video establishes the mindset of the believers in those days that was no doubt preset by their knowledge of the prophecies. Nathanael disappears from the Gospels until the Cross. He knew Jesus was Messiah, something none of the Apostles of Disciples knew. Jesus taught them parables/riddles so they would recognize Him until the appointed time. 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote-Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” 46 “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip. 47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” 48 “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.” 49 Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.” 50 Jesus said, “You believe[a] because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.” 51 He then added, “Very truly I tell you,[b] you[c] will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on’[d] the Son of Man.”
Peter, James and John knew, as they heard the voice of the Father on the mountain saying, "This is my son. Here him." Further, Peter said to Jesus, "You are the Messiah, the son of the living God."
Zechariah 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. Isaiah 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. 22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. Philippians 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Before I watch video, .. i love to promote the book of Daniel. The ending of the daily sacrifices is a huge prophecy concernin the Messiah 💝💝💝. Written long before the AD era. Daniel is UnBunkable 🤯🤯🤯.
Thank you for this content. I intend to study these points to have ready a reason for my faith in defense of the face of naysayers. How can we provide clear evidence that the prophecies of each respective prophet was actually documented at the time that they were, prior to Christ coming to earth around 0 AD?
Since Isaiah was found in the dead sea scrolls and dated to the first century, there is good evidence that the prophecies about the arm of the Lord (chapters 59 & 53), bearing the sin of many and interceding for the transgressors being very reliable. Ch 59 is an amazing chapter where God finds no one righteous to intercede so "his own arm brought salvation for him." Goes well with Micah 5:2 and 53.
I want to know why there is another person named jimmy Wallace in your thumbnail profile, we never see him in any of your videos which i think is weird because he is featured. Also, if your name is J. Warner, why do you also go by J. Warner Wallace in some of your videos. is Wallace also your last name? Why do you go by two last names Warner and Wallace? Im so confused
Great video! My Mormon brother is trying to convince me that the OT has been scrubbed of references to the Messiah to prevent people from realizing that Jesus is the One. This information could be helpful to show him how the Jews would have known what to look for using the OT as it stands. Do you have a list of the scriptures you referenced for this video? Are they on one of your books?
The most reliable informant ever (RI) Jesus the Messiah... John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

Thank you for breaking this down. I’ve always felt a bit skeptical about the OT prophesies, and a little guilty for feeling skeptical. No longer.
Phenomenal. So glad for your research, bro.
God bless you & your ministry brothers!
Way predicted! Daniel's prophecy is next level!
This was very helpful. Thank you. Love your channel. God bless.

Excellent insight from your professional skills. Thank you.
I love your concise clarity! The artwork is cool too! =)

The messiah, Jesus Christ, is all over the Old Testament, beginning in Genesis. Lord, my Lord, David said. Of course, Isaiah.

You forget to, or didnt want to put Micah 4:8 which says He will be born in "The Tower of The Flock" or Migdal Eder in Bethlehem even more specific
Best explanation.
✝️
Isaiah clearly predicts Jesus
Amen ✝️❤️🙏🙋♂️
