    I've been using OneNote for many years. There are many reasons why I love using OneNote for digital planning. I used paper planners before switching to a digital planner, and for me I found OneNote to be the most seamless transition.
    First, a note on digital planning as a whole. I love using traditional planning methods on a digital platform, but one question I get asked a lot is, "can I be reminded of my tasks? Can I sync it with my digital calendars?" The short answer is "no"... but it's not that simple (check out Tip #9 in the video).
    That being said, it's important to note that there are times where we need to have third-party apps like iCal, Calendly, and Google Calendar, but when we allow those third-party apps to take control of our schedule, we lose the ability to PLAN. I'm a strong believer in the power of having a primary and secondary calendar. If you put purpose into your planning, you will find success. The intention behind physically writing your plans and goals is part of what drives success.
    In this video, learn my Top 12 Tips for OneNote, including how to:
    Maximize your planning real estate
    Create hyperlinks in OneNote
    Use OneNote across multiple devices
    Establish a hierarchy system for the organization
    Navigate through your planner
    Get reminders for tasks
    & much more!

    Thank you for another great video Branden. Moving to OneNote last year and adopting the K2S planner has been probably the single best thing I did to increase productivity. I now manage work, school, personal life so much more effectively than before. I've known about and used hyperlinks to external files/website/media for school, but had either forgotten or never considered hyperlinking pages within and between notebooks in OneNote. This will open up some great possibilities.

      Onenote is the worst note software ever, anyone with a common sense will stay far away from it, here is one example of how stupid and low it can go to:
      "This page contains conflicting changes. Click here to show versions of the page with unmerged changes"
      It never has done a proper job in synchronizing the notes and so it came up with this error message. But when you clicked into this error message, you get another one that says it would not be able to complete the synch because the other note has not been synched, what it is telling you is that it is not going to do the synch either way.
      "Sorry, it looks like this page was added from another computer and hasn't synced yet."

      @@wilsont1010 You know what else is in the internet? The resolution to the issue. Check your settings and learn how to use the software. Your unfamiliarity with how to use it doesn't make it it a bad product.

      @wilsont1010 Год назад

      @@msand63If you can read, then read my reply properly, tons of people from Onenote have this same issue on the internet and there is no way out of this one, and they have switched. If you have the solution then post it. Otherwise it is a waste of time, people are no longer using Onenote, nobody will wait 5 days for the Onenote to synch up.

    Hi Branden, planner looks good, will check it out in the shop. On the Outlook tasks, it’s a lot quicker to type the task into OneNote first, then create the outlook tag - it picks the text up for you in the task - you can change it if you like at that point.

    Just starting this digital journey. I think this is the third time. :-) Way back in the day, I had an electronic "appointment" planner. This system looks a lot like the Franklin Covey System that I used for several years and loved. The problem with FC is, it wasn't with me all of the time. Carrying a leather notebook, while cool looking, isn't super practical. I am watching your training videos now. These are very informative. Thank you.

    One Note on Microsoft Teams so far has been pretty hard to work with. When it works, it's nice, but it's usually slow and takes a long time to load. I've used it on both my MacBook and work issued PC. I think One Note works as a standalone with much more ease. So I'm curious about what's going on with the interface that's creating the slow down. Is it bloat?
    I like hierarchies. I use them with all of my digital devices. My s/o thinks I'm insane, but it helps my thoughts. One tip that works the best for me is setting up most of my systems on the front end. It's extra work but everything else starts to pan out after the fact. I love it when I'm proactive.
    One big issue with digital planning that you brought up is switching between different interfaces and devices. Overall, this is a great video and you have great points.

      Thanks for the in depth comment here. I will be honest I can't speak to Microsoft Teams and OneNote. I have not really used them that function before. Generally I have my onenote open on my iPad and I share my screen with the group. That seems to work great. This whole working virtually is still a rather new thing in the term of everything.

    Thank you for the tip, it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’m currently using a digital planner, however, connected to GoodNotes. I love and use regularly OneNote, however, because this is for work on a secured exchange server, I’m perplexed on the connection of my iPad and exchange OneNote. I will call my Tech Support again. If I could get this connectivity, it would be worth the change to your OneNote planner for me as we move into 2023.

      We do have a planner that works with goodnotes as well. But are you able to share notebooks with your work account. We have a lot of people whom will install the planner on their personal device / account and then share with their work account. This way if they leave their post they are able to take their planner and notes with them.

      Hello David, So yes the planner will sync across more than one device. You simply import the planner into onenote. We have instructions on how to do this, it takes only a few minutes. Once you import the notebook into OneNote you can make changes on either your laptop or iPad and they will sync between those devices.

    • @bodendorfer
      @bodendorfer  9 месяцев назад

      So it's very important to understand if you want to be successful with planning that you don't look to automation to get your work done. People fail in life because they depend on others to do their work or believe that it will come to them. With planning it is no different using a digital planner you need to plan out your life, you can use tools like copy and paste to speed up that process from monthly weekly and daily pages. If you want to get into planning, know that you need to make that small investment in yourself.

    • @bodendorfer
      @bodendorfer  2 года назад

      Are you using more than one device that is synced? I have found with programs like OneNote and Goodnotes, that the local file on your primary device is pretty legit. One great thing with OneNote is that if you have a conflicting page you can review the versions and choose which one should be synced. I think as we roll over each year the devices and the note taking apps are become more of a staple. The thing is you have to have a device that you can have with you. The moment you are not available to make a note or schedule change, then you start to drift in the direction of not using it.
